Whats the best thing to do in cold days? Hotpot definitely was one of the top options. Having tried some all-you-can-eat hotpot recently, finally decided to try something good and chose this!This hotpot restaurant was located in Causeway Bay - just a 5-min walk as from SOGO. It was around 8pm upon our arrival and the restaurant wasnt really very full that we were immediately seated. This hotpot restaurant was located in Causeway Bay - just a 5-min walk as from SOGO. It was around 8pm upon our arrival and the restaurant wasnt really very full that we were immediately seated.
At the entrance, there were a big fish tank that included quite some choices, such as lobsters, crabs, abalones, etc. Besides, there were also a daily recommendation - Spanish oysters. Probably good ones.
Similar to typical hotpot restaurants, it served different soup bases and you could choose what toppings to order. Below were our choices!
1) Sauce調味醬 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): Standard toppings such as deep-fried garlic, sesame and spicy chilly. Had to special mentioned the sesame sauce - its thick and had a strong taste! Best to do with beef!

2) Soup Base湯底 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️): We chose two soup types - one is milk base and the other one is white pepper with pig belly. The pig belly one was very outstanding - a strong pepper taste, which tasted a little bit spicy and definitely warmed the body! Yet, we chose the milk base to do the seafood because its taste was less strong that wouldnt cover their freshness!

3) Local Lobster本地龍蝦 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️): The #1 dish of the hotpot. At first, we thought it was quite expensive but after relishing, we knew its worthy! First, its type made it stand out. Its from local but not U.S.A. or somewhere else. One very obvious feature was that it didnt have any clamps. This type of lobsters had a much richer taste than others. Besides, the lobster was big. In other hotpot places, the lobsters were smaller than they were just cut into half when served. But for this, the chef cut it into 3 pieces for each half side - only big lobster could do that. We used the milk soup base for to cook it. Just a few minutes and it was fully cooked! As mentioned above, its taste was rich and its meat was very firm, very different from those you could do in buffet that the meat was rather soft. Two people shared one would be the best option!

4) U.S.A. Oyster美國特大生蠔 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️): There were around 6 in total and their portion was really big. Although they are definitely frozen, their taste was still unpredictably good - strong sea water taste and juicy. Just around 3-4 mins and they would be well cooked - otherwise they would shrink. As we saw at the restaurant entrance, the restaurant also served fresh oysters. Definitely had to try next time!

5) Deep-fried Bean Curd Rolls即炸響鈴 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): Bean curd rolls were always the best hotpot companion but this was really the first time I did the freshly made fresh rolls. They did make a difference. The rolls were much more crispy and soft, not like the pre-cooked ones, which were hard and chewy. Recommended to eat it in two ways - one was to relish it directly, without any soup that allowed you to taste its texture and the other one was to soak it with soup. There were 6 in total but definitely not enough that we ordered again!

6) Beef鮮滑牛肉 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢):Slices were thick and not fatty. Compared to beef in other restaurant, it had a strong beef taste and chew texture. Just to boil around half a min and that would be enough.

7) Shrimp Dumplings & Scallop Dumplings 餛飩拼太子餃 (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): There were 6 in total - 3 of each kind. Both types of dumplings were outstanding and made of a lot of ingredients! The shrimps and scallops were big and fresh. Besides, the coating was thin but yet didnt break upon boiling.

8) Bean Curd Stick & Pea Sprout 鮮腐竹拼豆苗(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💢): After a lot of meaty dishes, we finally ordered some vegetables. There were quite a lot of different choices and the best thing was that it allowed combo set - mixing two types of vegetable by adding just HKD10. This allowed small group of people to enjoy more different food! Considerate!

All in all, this restaurant served high-quality food - even some general toppings were outstandingly good! Although its price might be a bit high, its worthy! Be good to yourself and belly!
