I had two Italian meals back to back, and unfortunately this place lost out. For a multitude of reasons: the service was haphazard, the menu was boring, the food was either bland or too salty, the music was too loud, the 2-seater tables were too small.... the only saving grace was the price - cheap (for this part of town), no service charge (they didn't deserve mine), and free tap water. For a multitude of reasons: the service was haphazard, the menu was boring, the food was either bland or too salty, the music was too loud, the 2-seater tables were too small.... the only saving grace was the price - cheap (for this part of town), no service charge (they didn't deserve mine), and free tap water. I thought they were trying to create a vibe that kinda worked, but didn't for me. The service was actually annoying, you didn't have a specific waiter for your table, so you spend most of your time trying to flag down someone, or they would randomly sidle up to the table and ask if you want to order dessert when you've already done so 5 minutes ago with someone else. The waitresses seemed less than knowledgeable about the food, and often had to ask their fellow colleagues what this and that was to try and answer our questions. To their credit, at least they tried. And somehow they just didn't seem to understand what I was saying regardless of what language I used (or maybe the music was too loud), it was just frustrating the whole way through. And the most annoying part was, they kept trying to remove our plates before we're done with it. If only the kitchen could have paced the dishes a bit better so not all dishes arrived within 2 minutes of each other, then perhaps we would have had more time to clear off one dish before the next arrived.

If only the food was good, then at least I could forgive the glitches mentioned above. To be fair, perhaps we didn't order what was meant to be their signature dishes that best reflected the chefs' skills and the ingredients' flavour. But the menu was just a lot of carbs, carbs and more carbs. The mains were uninspiring so we thought, OK, this place is meant to be good for pasta, so let's hit it. We ended up with a classic linguini which was pesto with tomato and basil.... I could have done a better job at home (I didn't even bother taking a picture coz it would just be misleading - looks alright, tastes miserable). It was too oily and despite the massive amount of herb it somehow didn't translate to much intensity in flavour. We ordered a rosemary breadroll, which was just a large piece of ciabatta/pizza dough like thing. We could have ordered the eggplant bread roll, but they ran out of ?Eggplant?. We shouldn't have ordered it for 2 girls, as there was already a decent bread basket for free.

The beef carpaccio was better, with tender slices of beef moistened by a creamy mayo-like sauce and livened up by a couple pieces of artichoke and cheese.

My friend got so bored by the less-than-adequate variety and wanted to order something else to wake up the palate. Since we've been told there's no eggplant breadroll, we wondered if there would be just eggplant. And there was! Except it was waaaaay too salty and the cheese inside was chewy rather than melted and stringy. It looked and tasted like chewing gum.

The coconut sorbet was OK, at least if it came out of a tub it's hard to screw up.
Seriously, I was disappointed given what the previous reviews have written. I'm not even tempted to come back despite the cheap price.

因為很想食到聞名已的鴨蛋意大利粉, 所以獨自一人先品嘗一下, 也因為一個人容易入座, 一到便安排入座, 但狹窄的座位, 不太舒服,我點了意大利番茄清湯及Salt Cured Egg genovese, 其實有Set lunch ($98+10%), 有salad有主食有飲品, 但沒有我想食到的鴨蛋意大利粉啊! 先來麵包, 都很乾, 不太驚喜, 後來湯, 番茄味很濃, 有些香葉和大量橄欖油, 雖然有點油, 但配合麵包一起吃好夾, 登登登登, 期待已久的Salt Cured Egg genovese終於出場, 賣相並不重要, 味道最實際, 第一口有濃郁的香草味醬汁, 跟之前的番茄清湯的香草味相似, 麵條的煙韌度較一般的硬, 但食進水很有咬口, 加上蕃茄仔很鮮甜, 味蕾係前面甜中後咸香, 很有趣! 不枉此行的獨樂樂!

終於終於,在很多個食友的聯合推薦下,我帶著媽媽和TC,以及蠢蠢欲動的味蕾,來這裡小試牛刀。餐廳裝修有一點工廠氣息,休閒自在,不會有fine dining那股拘束感。週末沒有set lunch提供,但其實a la carte menu的價位十分合理,份量也較小,可以多嘗試幾款每一檯都有一瓶橄欖油,不過沒有黑醋,我還是很老土的覺得黑醋配上橄欖油會更美味麵包用鳀魚罐頭鐵盒盛放,外皮脆身而富有芝麻香,內裡則較鬆軟,蘸上橄欖油與黑醋吃更添香味,媽媽和TC都吃得很起勁,很快,小鐵盒就空了素來迷戀炸芝士條的我,固然也不會放過White gold bars,酥脆薄身、微帶香草芬芳的外皮裹著煙韌飽滿、奶香四溢的水牛芝士,再配上少許酸爽開胃的番茄醬,不誇張的說,吃過那麼多cheesesticks,這家算是水準最高的時令蔬菜及意大利番茄清湯就和想像中的不太一樣了,不同於一般的質感濃稠、酸甜味較厚重的意大利菜湯,這裡則是『清而不寡』,番茄的性格彰顯,酸甜度平衡得恰到好處,輕怡開胃對配菜中的南瓜配紅酒醋頗有興趣,沒想到端上來時竟是臭烘烘的,一股發酵過度、食物腐壞的味道,原來是紅酒醋搞得鬼!然而這味又與臭豆腐有異

對配菜中的南瓜配紅酒醋頗有興趣,沒想到端上來時竟是臭烘烘的,一股發酵過度、食物腐壞的味道,原來是紅酒醋搞得鬼!然而這味又與臭豆腐有異曲同工之妙,聞起來面容扭曲,吃進入卻一發不可收拾,南瓜燉得綿軟細膩,融合了本有的甜度與紅酒醋的酸度,另有薄荷葉的清香沖淡紅酒醋的臭味,如果說缺點,大概是橄欖油份量稍多,整體有少許油膩

媽媽提議一試的烤蒜片橄欖油意大利麵,蒜味香濃,橄欖油的獨特芬芳亦十分突出,原料很素的一款意麵,吃起來卻覺得滋味十足,愈吃愈過癮。不足之處是麵條質感有點偏軟身,不過al dente;橄欖油的份量也多了少許,吃到最後不免有一點膩

前菜、湯、配菜與意粉都堪稱美味,但共有的問題是橄欖油落得過多,雖說橄欖油健康,但畢竟也是純純的油,吃多了也還是會膩啊

等待少許,迎來了筆者最喜愛的甜品環節,是次咸食點得比較忍手,就是為了留出quota多嚐幾款甜點(可憐的TC和媽媽,碰上我這倒霉孩子^^'')

杏仁奶凍是我在甜品餐牌上最期待的甜點,可惜卻變成了最令我失望的。奶凍杏仁味很微弱,杏仁酒我更是一點也沒吃出來,奶凍的魚膠粉也落得過多,像在吃果凍,櫻桃/櫻桃醬如紅莓般酸,杏仁餅也過於硬身,味道單調

反而賣相最平凡的檸檬橄欖油蛋糕卻最好吃,蛋糕外皮烘得脆神,內裡則綿軟而充滿蛋味,兼有檸檬橄欖油的清香,配上微融在蛋糕表面的罌粟籽雪糕,口感微微濕潤而香甜芬芳。可惜吃到三分二的時候竟發現蛋糕底部有一根睫毛,雖則細小卻很礙眼,著重衛生的媽媽更不能容忍,最後只能放棄而剩下那三分一的美味…

視覺效果上最有wow factor的莫過於Hot chocolate affogato,服務生會將一大杯朱古力漿倒入棉花糖雪糕與意大利脆餅乾上,這道甜品勝在冷暖交融與甜苦相濟,朱古力漿選用了濃度較低的朱古力(大概40-50%),濃郁中不失甜美,脆餅乾浸上熱騰騰的朱古力漿後也變得濃香而略微濕軟。如提意見的話我會建議朱古力漿濃度再高10%左右,抑或降低其份量,畢竟還是過甜了少許

為了彌補我們仨的精神損失,店方送給我們一球自家製蜂蜜味意大利雪糕,大概是喝了的太多朱古力漿麻痺了味蕾,初嚐時幾乎吃不出蜂蜜味來,痛飲了一杯水去沖淡滿口朱古力味後,才緩緩品味到蜂蜜的甜香,輔以淡淡的奶味,原來也是很好吃的gelato,只可惜次序錯了

總體而言我們仨都吃得滿意又盡興,靈動的橄欖油香氣在舌尖上翩翩起舞,的確是值得一試的好推介。如提建議,咸食方面橄欖油的份量可以酌情減少,而個別甜點(e.g.杏仁奶凍)則有待改進。服務也十分貼心友善,埋單時發現竟然還不收加一,可面對這樣的服務與食物質素,不給點小費是不是也太不夠意思了!?

十二時多去到,餐廳不算很滿,可以快快入座.我一直以為這段時間只設brunch menu,原來連平日的lunch menu都可以點,選擇相當多.席上有未曾來過的,所以都保險地點些吃過覺得不錯的菜色,就連認得我們的侍應都問,為甚麼我們每次點的都差不多.不過好吃的就不怕encore,下次再來獨自試其他食物好了.

點完食物,一直都未有house bread出現.問了侍應,它們說沒有提供.奇怪,是因為早午餐時段會將麵包抽起,或者是..?但席上有人想吃麵包,所以就點了個HAPPY JACK'S DAILY PASTRY BASKET.

先來的是STRACCETTI DI MANZO,用來自澳洲的牛肉,烤至五成熟,入口嫩滑鮮甜到不得了,是無論是否牛魔王都會愛上的味道.底部毡著爽脆不苦的火箭菜,牛肉上也有炸香的雅支竹,和帶濃濃奶酥味的藍芝士,味道和口感富多層次.添上咸鮮的安糟魚醬汁,更突顯出牛肉的鮮甜,好吃!-沙律一到不用五分鐘,就被我們清了碟,連那醬汁都一滴不漏.

再來是已經吃過三次的CAPRESE.簡單的配搭,吃的是材料的真鮮味.蕃茄用本地有機出產,鮮甜多汁;posto pubblico自製的水牛芝士質感比較實,但奶香濃郁,更是神奇的’越嗒越有’,在口中悠悠不散;伴著蕃茄和黑醋吃,那奶味在酸味櫬托中更是突出.唯獨是那片Basil細片了點,有限的香味難獨擔大旗.不過現在這樣已經很好吃,我很肯定下次來也會encore,再下次也再點,再點..這沙律好像一首好歌,就算舊了out了,但無限loop著聽也從不覺悶.

要了客MINESTRONE,濃郁的鮮紅茄湯,內藏煮得軟稔的各式蔬菜,很有媽媽的住家感覺-好味道,有時就是這麼簡單.當然,要是來一片白麵包,可以點著湯來吃,定必更加滋味.

嗜吃薄餅,這裡只有Flatbread,但餅底比薄餅還要脆和薄,味道也更加出色.餅邊雖然厚,但質地鬆軟,也充滿麥香,更重要是毫不油膩,連餅邊都吃掉也不覺飽滯!這天點的是salami,goat cheese和cherry pepper的口味,前者咸香十足,最愛那芝士的神祕獨特酥香,誘惑著你crave for more..cherry peppers甜得不像是青椒,反而像蕃茄般多汁.而最重要的是這flatbread新鮮出爐熱辣辣非常,那熱力更能將食材的香味逼出,也就更加好吃了.

唯一問題是這flatbread的份量不少,我試過兩人點一客吃飽得不得了,如果有三人或以上分享會較合適.

補點的HAPPY JACK'S DAILY PASTRY BASKET這時送上,也許是第一天提供早午餐吧,侍者非常詳細的解釋每一種麵包是甚麼口味,服務相當好.種類有幾款,都是迷你的一口大小,由濃到淡都有.因也點了很多食物,所以每款都只能輕嘗:

黃色的圓形是corn muffin,乾了點.
另一圓是cinnamon roll,香料味不濃,入口酥脆,好.
Blueberry danish果占餡味道有點假,幸好未算很甜,外皮雖不熱但依然鬆脆,幾好.
Cream cheese danish是個人心水,酥皮包著的是帶奶酥甜味的忌廉餡,和酥皮味道很配,我吃了大半個.
黑色的是chocolate and almond brownie,質地太鬆散了,味道也不夠濃郁,是整個麵包籃最令人失望的一味.

整體來說,這個麵包籃不過不失,如果麵包有咸有甜,以及烘得更暖一點,會更佳.

等了一會,兩道主菜材緩緩送上,等候時間不短,令冷靜如我也不禁著急起來,是不是漏了單?

先碰期待以久的LF BENEDICT,顏色比一般鮮豔,但水煮蛋扁扁的,第一眼有點失望.對準搖晃的蛋黃用刀一切,金黃的蛋黃液像熔液湧出,望著那染黃色的白碟子,不知怎的感到一陣興奮快感-也許破壞東西的欲望和食,性一樣,都是人類最原始的滿足來源?心樸樸的跳,望著碟上含苞待放的蛋,正想承勢而上,將那性感寶貝整個佔據...可惜的是當揮刀一切,毡在底的English muffin一點不鬆,怎切也切不開,就像一個不合時的電話響鬧,將我從那莫名興奮忘我中拉回現實.

用力地終於將蛋切開放進口中,覺得蛋白是夠滑溜了,蛋黃卻未如想像中那般蜜甜,也偏稀;切成薄片的火腿味道帶咸鮮,效果比平時切得厚厚的火腿扒好很多,感覺也幼細精緻點.冶艷的血橙色香腸荷蘭汁帶點點辣香-如果普通的Hollandaise sauce是個羞怯的小女孩,那這個'nduja hollandaise,就是個熱情奔放的西班牙女郎,一娓一笑都帶點誘惑.只可惜是那堅硬如石山的muffin,像個古老石山的保守中女,碰上了真有熱面貼上冷屁股的掃興感覺...

帶點失落的轉回意粉的懷抱,另一主菜點的是已吃過的CHITARRA.份量..好像比上次的又少了?不過份量不是重點,好吃與否才最重要.果然沒讓我失望:那帶濃濃蛋香的意粉煮得外軟內硬,帶煙癮嚼感,是我所喜愛的生熟度;黏搭在意粉之間,帶點溶溶爛爛的雞肝醬貌不驚人,入口卻是滿嘴內臟酥香,加上同樣濃郁的牛油和香草味,絕對是重口味之選;味道刺激,卻不惹人討厭,反而令人一試難忘-你親自嘗過,就會明白為甚麼我每每來到這裡,都會忍不住一點再點,再點..

個人覺得這裡的食物奧妙之處,在於其簡直卻令人上癮的味道.主菜尤是可,甜品更是不得了,那Lemon Olive Oil Cake,是我每次無論吃得多飽,都心思思想點來吃的一道.藏在甜品餐牌一角的它,聽起來比別的都要簡單,賣相更是家常到不得了,根本就是一片莎梨蛋糕加雪糕嘛!

但只要放下對它的成見嘗一口,相信無論甚麼國籍,甚麼年齡,甜不甜魔,都會被它簡樸的美味擊倒-入口是出奇的鬆化,那蛋甜味比檸檬橄欖油香來得重,但不知怎的就是好好吃.蛋糕中芯的微濕潤部位,口感又和烘得酥脆的餅邊不一樣;單吃奶味香甜的意大利雪糕,和將它和熱騰騰的蛋糕夾著放進口裡,又是另一番風味-不少昂貴又精緻的甜品不是不好吃,但總是吃得令人有點失落,不覺滿足;但這小小一片蛋糕加雪糕,其美味卻令人如此難忘,更有種莫名的親切感,叫人一點再點..

也許是第一天提供早午餐,所以兩道brunch items不是不好,但在其他好吃得無話可說的regular menu items相映之下,有點失色.但我相信,大廚Vinny Lauria和他的團隊既然有能力準備如此高質素的菜式,加上餐廳向來努力求變求進的積極,將早午餐做得和平日餐牌一樣高水準,是指日可待的事!

很期待下次再來,也許是平日來個簡單午餐,也許像今天來個輕鬆早午餐,會吃到同樣好吃又滿意的菜式.不過看來我要控制一下自己,不要再點同樣的菜色,應該要嘗嘗別的!-唔,那個White Gold Bars看來不錯,炸豬心也是,更想試試聽來很有趣的叉燒味Carbonara..

未出發先興奮的感覺,是否就是這樣?

!!後來他介紹了today’s special甜品, Fig Cremoso$48(無花果醬芝士奶凍)。
也好吧!無花果醬似乎沒加甜味,醬下層介乎芝士mousse/奶凍之間口感的”cheese mousse”好夠芝味,而且不甜。我只可說,幾獨特,但做得不夠細緻,而且不軟滑,乾面一點,好像雪了一段時間。
Apple Crostata$48蘋果有機甜薯奶油餅乳酪雪糕,乳酪雪糕超好吃!!但在微暖的餅上,很快溶掉。而蘋果甜薯餅,兩材料切小件切絲,焗成餅,味道好天然!這甜品,如再熱一點,好好吃!
最遺憾是沒吃那朱古力甜品,但以這環境,這食物,我不會再來。

這裡有款很令我回味的意粉Chitarra,外表不怎麼吸引,但味道卻是令我朝思暮想。用上雞肝,黃糖,香草,火腿等跟粗麵條一起烹煮。麵條蛋香很濃,雞肝呈粉狀依偎在上,入口的那份酥味,很好吃。再細味麵上的醬汁,甜甜的又帶點咸香,而且沒半點油膩感覺,在香港似乎再找不到。

除了意粉,Linguini Fini也有值得推介的主菜。除了不少人推介的豬油燒雞外,跟中式燒肉有點相像的意式慢烤豬脾及豬腩肉,是我的推介。英國運來的豬腩,釀入香腸肉後,先慢煮再烤焗,製作時間用上差不多一天。完成後的燒豬腩,切粒放上麵包,再上碟。雖知香脆的豬皮跟肥脂是罪惡根源,但油香跟肉汁同時在口中爆發的感覺,加上軟腍的口感,真的更令人心動。

還有那個賣相平凡到極點的檸檬橄欖油蛋糕,明知是跟莎莉蛋糕差不多的Pound Cake,也知道只是曬上橄欖油,加上罌粟籽gelato就完成的一份甜品,但偏偏令我深深愛上。味道純美自然不花巧,gelato質感幼滑得無話可說,蛋糕鬆香,邊位有點微脆,簡單又好味。就是這個,尤如女神一樣,在我腦海不停出現...

這裡唯一美中不足的,就是不設訂位服務。但考慮到如此高的質素,收費親民,亦沒收加一,到來朝聖也得要忍讓一下。下次再來時,吃什麼好呢?每次想起也令人興奮雀躍!

Finally, we were seated at the long table in the bar area but had to really really squish up tight because there was a group of four who were already eating their dinner and we were instructed by the waiter to share their table. We didnt like that wine is not served in wine glasses but just small cheap water cups (the type cha chaan tangs use to serve complimentary water when you arrive). Additionally, the napkins are actually very cheap IKEA dish cloths and were heavily stained with ugly looking brown patches, obviously from use by previous diners.. quite disgusting.

All 10 of us hated our mains. I had the Chitarra (pasta with chicken liver) and found that the pasta was very inconsistently cooked, with undercooked and overcooked strands of pasta in the same dish but none al dente! Presentation of the dish was ugly, as if someone had vomited on my plate. My partner had the duck sausage rigatoni, which was overly salty and had undercooked, floury pasta. One of my friends had the rotisserie porchetta (roasted pork belly), and was disappointed with the small portion of meat, supplemented with lots of plain hard bread and some mustard. The pork belly skin was very chewy, and had a 'porky' smell. My friend commented that roast pork from Tai Hing across the road would've been better!

On a positive note, the insalata mista (mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette) was nice but very small. Decor is nice, especially the cute little blue and red stools in the bar area.

Don't come here if you are looking for a quiet meal as the noise level is loud. However, the waiters are friendly and eager to introduce and explain their signature dishes to you.

We were surprised when a single sausage was presented to us, however, it's always quality over quantity, isn't it? The sausage was not as spicy as I had imagined it to be but it had a good meaty taste to it, comforting me that this was freshly ground meat, rather than left-over fatty pork that we are used to with most sausages available from the supermarket. The sauce that accompanied it was a rich buttery mustard sauce, which was a perfect complement.

When I read 'flatbread', I was expecting a very thin crust topped with the stated ingredients. Yet, we were presented with a thick-crusted pizza-like creation. Nonetheless, the flatbread was fresh with a herby-basil aroma filling the air around it, enough for me to get excited for the first bite. For those of you who are curious, scamorza is an Italian cow's milk cheese, similar to mozzarella. Scamorza can be substituted for mozzarella in most dishes; it is reputed to melt better in baking. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and remained juicy whilst the sundried tomatoes and basil gave it a wholesome flavour.

The ravioli was filled with pork jowl (cheek), sweetbread and porchetta. The skin of the ravioli was perfectly cooked and was easy to cut and chew into. Although I could not tell the difference between the pork jowl and the porchetta, the meat was extremely tender.

Fazzoletti is also known as the 'Handkerchief' pasta as it is basically squares of thin pasta, similar to lasagne sheets. The pasta was cooked with a pork, veal and oxtail ragu. Out of all the ingredients, the oxtail was the most outstanding as it was cooked until it was tender. You won't have to find yourself having to vigorously chew through the meats!

Overall, it was a very good meal and I will definitely return to try out their other main courses!

可能大廚Vinny得知外間對此味的評價不一,所以略為微調一下,這天的Salt Cured Egg genovese,並沒有那些臭腥味,和鹹得要命的味道,香草味道清香,鴨蛋黃碎帶鹹香,此店的意大利麵全是自家製,入口夠彈性,索汁力強,每條也掛上清香醬汁,碟上番茄的甜味,有平衡此味意粉之妙。

我單點了一味Chitarra 茄汁肉丸意大利扁麵,上次吃過讚不絕口,以雞肝來作意大利粉材料,在香港真找不到另一間。

這道意粉用上的麵條較粗身,質感更強,配以特濃的味道,深慶得人。雞肝的甘香油潤味道很驚艷,已全數被麵條接收,令人回味再三。

另點的甜品是檸檬橄欖油蛋糕,沒有矯揉造作的外表,亦沒有上載至Facebook,惹來萬人LIKE之本領,但穩定性打到一切。內裡包含的,是那種實實在在,不造作,如一位眉清目秀,挺有個性的女生一樣,內涵戰勝俗艷。蛋糕的檸檬芳香迷人,糕身鬆化,雪糕質感幼滑,奶香濃郁,是年青時代,吃過的純樸味道。好吃,就是如此簡單。

如果只是一個午餐,$100還有找,我們有兩道單點菜式,加上一道甜品,兩個人吃了三百多塊,也是物有所值。

她很少在香港嚐西餐,希望這一頓Linguini Fini,會令她感到滿意。。。下次我作客台北,妳會帶我吃些甚麼?

The name of this restaurant, Linguini Fini, has caught my attention when it pops out on the charts on openrice as linguini is a type of pasta which is thin, long, and flat. People had many good and positive reviews towards this restaurant and I have been dying to come and have a try. It was like a dream-come-true when a friend of mine offered to bring me here for dinner.
We arrived at around 0620pm. It was still pretty quiet at that time since I guess it was too early for typical Hong Kong people to dine at this hour (but strangely I prefer early meals). The setting and atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The light was dim, and each table has a little candlelight. There was also songs and music being played. I also noticed a very smart design of the ceiling of the restaurant. If you do not look closely enough, you may not be able to spot out that there was actually no ceiling in the restaurant, i.e. the tubes and air cons are actually exposed. It is not noticeable though because the lights were so smartly designed to 'hide' it. It looks like a black ceiling with dim glowing light tubes arranged in a zigzag way only that there was actually no ceiling but just dim light tubes hanged in a zigzag way. That was indeed a really smart design, at least it is to me.
We were given a menu and a bread basket shortly after we sat down. The waiter also introduced and recommended us a special dish which was not on the menu. We then ordered the special dish and a cocktail first.
The cocktail is called Rossini. It is made of strawberry and prosecco. I enjoyed the sweetness of it. I think it would be a great drink to order for girls, a nice one for dates.

We first ate their bread. The bread was not especially warm, but it has a pretty strong hint of sesame flavor and aroma. My friend told me that the last time he came here, the waiter taught him to get some coarse sea salt and add some olive oil to it and dip the bread to the mixture to eat. I followed this, but I did not find it particularly special. Maybe it is because that I normally like to eat my bread plain so as to really taste out the wheat unless the bread’s terrible. I’ll say the bread here is okay.

The special recommended appetizer tasted kind of like bacon. I heard something like it is kind of some meat wrapping some Italian sausages, but I am not very sure nor did I really tasted Italian sausages being wrapped in the meat. I am not very sure of what it was, but it is quite a fabulous dish. I was not really a big fan with salads and such antipasti actually, and I was a bit hesitant to try at first too, but after trying a piece, it kind of wowed me and I later found myself keep on eating it. The cherry tomatoes served along were also very sweet. It was a good starter for the dinner.

I wanted to try Italian flatbread for some time already but never had a chance to go to some decent Italian restaurant to try an authentic flatbread. I honestly don’t really know how’s an authentic Italian flatbread’s like, but I believe those served in this restaurant won’t go any terribly wrong. Moreover, my friend had not tried this the last time he came, so we ordered one then, the Cherry Tomato, Mozzarella, Garlic Flatbread. It was really hot and aromatic when served. Only by the aroma of the flatbread from the olive oil and herbs in it and of course the wheat, you’ll already know it is good. The toppings are indeed satisfying. There really are cloves of garlic on it. I originally expected that there will only be some minced or mashed garlic oil used to give the flavor. The cheese also gives a really great texture to the flatbread. I especially loved how the flatbread’s crunchy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside. It is one of my favorite dishes of the night. But if you aren't very hungry and you are only eating with very few people, you may find it too full to eat it, so I recommend you to order it to share with a small group of people.

As I said above, I am a huge fan of pasta. Looking at the dinner menu, I actually wanted to try all of their pasta. I was able to choose two in the end after having a hard time in making a decision. I chose the Fazzoletti “Nose To Tail Bolo” because I have read articles from newspapers recommending it. The other one was the Fragrant Grass linguine in goat cheese fonduta. Let’s first discuss about their pasta. Their pasta is freshly handmade. With the right exact timing, their pasta is cooked to al dente. I am completely crazy about their pasta.
Comparing the two pastas ordered, I like the Fazzoletti “Nose To Tail Bolo” more. Firstly, the fazzoletti is a kind of pasta which is very wide, kind of like lasagna sheets. The “Nose To Tail Bolo” means veal and oxtail ragu, pork testa and tomato sauce. The main focus of this dish that brings it all over the top is the ragu. The ragu tasted stunningly good. It can be tasted that it had been slowly stewed and is absolutely tasty.
For the Fragrant Grass linguine in goat cheese fonduta, the fonduta is terrific and rich actually, but then I think the flavor of the rich fonduta had covered the taste of the ‘fragrant grass’. A waitress told us that the cheese sauce goes really well with the fragrant grass and therefore a lot of cheese is put, but both I and my friend thought that it is more essential that the flavor of the fragrant grass has to be more distinct.

After finishing the pastas, we were looking at the menu for a main dish. We have decided what to order and then a dish of mussels was served to the table next to us. My friend immediately exclaimed that this dish was really good and insisted I should try, so other than the main dish, we ordered the Mussels on the antipasti section too.
The Mussels came first. The mussels are very fresh. The sauce was really good. It was very flavorsome, and I loved the white wine and broth in the sauce, it was absolutely authentic. There was also a toast served alongside, for you to dip into the sauce after finishing the mussels to eat. The sauce does go perfectly well with breads but I think the toast served was a bit too charred, even if it says charred bread on the menu.

For the main dish, we ordered the Crispy "Quick Smoked" Salmon and roasted peppers as a side dish. Firstly about the roasted peppers. I think it is absolutely lovely. The basil and olive oil raised the flavor of the peppers. It's a really great side dish.

Back to the main dish, the salmon is absolutely terrific. I loved how it is crispy on the outside but so soft and tasty inside very much. The inside is kind of like halfway cooked, and the texture is totally perfect. It is well-seasoned but you can still taste a very distinct freshness of the salmon.

It sounded crazy how the two of us ordered that much to eat, doesn't it? Well, we were finally putting our meal to an end after the perfect salmon dish. We finally ordered dessert. My friend has been obsessed with dessert these days and he highly recommends the Hot Chocolate Affogato. My choice of dessert was the Tiramisu. I chose that because I've read on newspapers again highly recommending this special tiramisu.
The Tiramisu includes the essential mascarpone cheese, and also coffee cake crumble, frozen chocolate, and tiramisu gelato. It is not like the tiramisu you get to eat normally, and this is way on the top and I'm sure I would never feel satisfied with tiramisu after having those from here. The cake was very soft and spongy. Eating it with those coffee cake crumble, chocolate and the gelato, the texture of the whole dessert is stunningly great. It has all the flavors of what a tiramisu is supposed to taste like, with some addition flavors and texture by the cake crumble and gelato, it just makes it all perfect.

For the Hot Chocolate Affogato, they pour the hot chocolate fudge over the marshmallow gelato in the chocolate cup separately after served. I totally adored the hot chocolate fudge as its flavor is right at a perfect point. It wouldn't be too bitter or too sweet, it is just perfect and the texture is very smooth and rich. It made the marshmallow gelato melt a bit and the picture was just stunning. I really enjoyed eating the biscotti with the hot fudge. They are an absolute perfect combination. The cold gelato and the hot fudge gave a terrifically great sensation. I just feel like I could never had enough of this dessert.

I am extremely grateful that my friend brought me here. We dined for hours. It was already 10 by the time we checked the bill and left. My friend paid for the meal and wouldn't let me look at the bill. I'm sure it's a pretty big number since we ordered so many food. But if by checking out the price of each dish separately, it is totally an affordable price and not pricey at all. I think this place is just so perfect and I love it so much.

青口跟一件烤過的麵包,侍者主動向我們介紹這件麵包,說是自家製的,會很好吃。分了半件試試,是香口一點,但就幾硬的,未懂欣賞;青口則是新鮮,爽口,只嫌太細隻,沒什麼肉吃。

朋友很知我心意,即使她不太喜歡,也特意要揀火腿拼盤。這拼盤的份量比預期中大得多,莎樂美腸滿有油香,火腿是有豬及牛,均是軟熟可口,個人是較為喜歡豬的那款。

仲有這邊的招牌Fettucine Funghi,自家製作的濶麵條有咬口,牛肝菌也帶有一定香氣,蘑菇就夠爽口,當然少不了面頭的一大堆濃香芝士,為整個意大利麵增添了不少分數。

身為甜魔的我們,是日就要了兩款甜品,Hot Chocolate Affogato是其一,內容是熱朱古力意大利雪糕、意大利餅乾及棉花糖雪糕,特別之處是上檯後服務生再淋上朱古力漿。可惜,朱古力漿未見熱暖,又有欠濃郁,質素很一般,也未能營造出冷暖交融的效果,那件意大利餅乾更是硬硬的,令人失望。

另外的是Apple Crostat,而這件蘋果果醬批,稍嫌口感太硬,死實實咁,單靠頂頂的一球乳酪味雪糕,未能補救太多。

好朋友爭著埋單,又怎好意思呢!

Semi-opened kitchen.Ordered a Fried Cheese (golden bar), tasty, deep fried to gold brown colour, not too greasy. Came in 2 chunks of mozzarella cheese with tomato sauce. Tomato sauce is always good friend to this kind of deep fried heavy thing. Tomato sauce is always good friend to this kind of deep fried heavy thing. But the cheese was not hot enough, wonder they took too long to blot the oil before taking that out.

Had a homemade spaghetti with parma ham, tomato (ametriciana), and Meat Ball Spaghetti. Generally the spaghetti was well cooked to al dente, riched in italian touch. But the food was served in below temperature. The ametriciana was in luke warm and under seasoned too. The meatball temperature was a little better ,at least could feel the heat inside. The presentation of the meatball looked like shanghainese "Lion Head", as big as a man's fist. The meatball was very juicy and soft, very tasty. But one misleading thing was it said in the menu, it's totall covered with cheese, so I was anticipating it baked with melting cheese on top. Too bad, it was just topped with shaved parmansan cheese.

Service was OK and the waitress was friendly and responsive to my queries. There is no 10% service charge.

Average price, average to slightly above average food.

Went to try this place with 2 friends. We knew it was no reservation, so 2 of us went at 6:30pm to get a table. Our 3rd dinner guest said she will be late fr work & will join us around 7-ish. When we got there, we were NOT ALLOWED to be seated until EVERYONE has arrived even though I already explained my friend will be late fr work & join us later, & we will start eating first. Nop, not allowed. So we had to take a drink at the bar & wait for 40mins for our friend to arrive before we are seate

So after this long episode, we finally able to sit down & order some food. We had wild boar salami, stewed tripe, 2 pastas & 3 desserts. Food overall tasty
& reasonable prices but tables very very small. For the 3 of us, we were given a table that can barely place food for 2 ppl so we had to quickly finish each dish to make room for the next one. Then tables placed very closely together & extremely cramped & noisy. So although good ok, prices reasonable, I don't think I will go back as I hate their rigid rules & the whole dinner experience was very uncomfortable with the noise & so crowded.
Dining is not just about food but about the whole ambience & experience. Given the heaps of choices of Italian restaurants in town, I rather pay a bit more for a relaxing and enjoyable evening.
