Linguini Fini係近期OR人氣食店,愛吃pasta既我又點會錯過...同朋友6點3已經到咗,因為太早啦,全場得我地同另外一對couples...小食,pasta選擇唔算太多,各10款左右...由於我地唔太肚餓,只係叫咗一個小食+一個pasta...先嚟麵包個邊超硬,只有好中間係軟少少,味道亦一般...White gold bar炸芝士...難得外面炸粉香脆,芝士煙煙韌韌,暖暖地易入口Fazzoletti “Nose to Tail Bolo”menu寫係正方形意粉,又薄又滑,但唔會一夾就散,有蛋香的pasta,食厭條條和粒粒意粉的朋友可以試吓醬汁係番茄+香草+豬肉碎+牛尾肉+芝士,好好味,牛尾肉令成個sauce更加有肉味,同個番茄醬好matchTiramisu拆件上既tiramisu,上面球雪糕好大舊,咖啡脆脆好得意,整體唔太甜亦不太勁酒味,味道OK啦,勝在賣相特別Hot Chocolate Affogato朱古力茶杯裝住棉花糖同雪糕,仲有幾件biscottiwaiter倒咗朱古力醬之後茶杯溶咗一半,朱古力醬浸軟咗D biscotti,撈埋棉花糖但朱古力醬相對太多,最後我地好

waiter倒咗朱古力醬之後茶杯溶咗一半,朱古力醬浸軟咗D biscotti,撈埋棉花糖

但朱古力醬相對太多,最後我地好似飲湯咁食埋D醬...

Came on Friday night and the placed was packed. Waited 25+mins for our table - it was around 8:45pm so many people were starting to leave. By the time we sat down, there were 3-4 empty tables surrounding us....The tables are positioned quite close to each other and the place was quite noisy per typical Central. The tables are positioned quite close to each other and the place was quite noisy per typical Central. The lively ambiance and the friendly waiters made the night enjoyable.

Food:
Recommend the Cherry Tomato Mozzarella Flatbread with sweet garlic (the portion is like a pizza - so it was worth more than its value- $88)
It was covered with a generous portion of mozzarella, and the taste of cherry tomato & sweet garlic was very appetizing. The crust was not the thin pizza type, and had more a baguette texture.
Will have this again next time

Ceasar Salad = $58
Very small bowl and had strong anchovies taste to it....I personally prefer the localized type of ceasar salads and found this more authentic one a bit too 'fishy' tasting.

Spaghetti Meatballs =$118
Forgot the name of this dish, it was something to do with "cheese covering the entire plate"....as cheese-lovers, we were totally deceived by this fancy name.
The dish arrived with only thin mozzarella shavings over the large meatball and to our suprise, it wasnt hot. The spaghetti was a bit undercooked (it wasnt Al dente) so we asked the waitress to see about fixing it. She was very helpful to have the dish redone within 10mins: the spaghetti was much better but the meatball was still a bit cold inside...

In overall, the texture of the spaghetti felt very homemade and was quite interesting. The sauce and meatball was nothing special - especially since we had over-expectations for the cheese.


Would like to come back again to try out another type of pasta....we were stupid not having tried the signature linguini dishes.
The bill came to only $264 for two people - not drinks; value for money!
See that the 10% is not added and that we should tip to reflect the meal!

Since we were looking for an easy and quick lunch, we all went for lunch sets.

A few of us ordered its home-made linguini fini and some ordered another pasta dish. For the price of HK$98 (including bread, a salad, a pasta and drink, but no service charge), the lunch set seems to be a bargain.

The texture of linguini fini was quite interesting. Yet, it tasted very salty (a common comment by all the friends).


My friend who ordered another pasta dish said it was burnt and tasted average.

Service-wise, they missed out our orders. We waited for over 20 mins to have our pasta served after we finished the salad. That's a luxury for lunch!


Overall, i see a big room for improvement for the lunch here. I doubt if i will return to try its ala carte menu.

我與朋友一行2人, 見這間新開食評不錯, 就去試試. 果然食物真的不錯. 我們只order 3 樣嘢, no drink, no desert. 1) Fazzoletti “Nose to Tail Bolo”意大利正方形意粉配豬肉醬 2) ham platter 3) pizza (can't rememer exactly the name). 3樣都唔錯, 尤其是招牌菜Fazzoletti “Nose to Tail Bolo”. 但我主要想講吓食物以外可改善地方. No booking, only walk in, 還要齊人才可入座, 等待期間, 沒有椅子坐, 只好站著等待, 有些不方便, 當時7.30pm, 幸好我們只等了15分鐘; 餐廳內播放著勁歌, 明白是為了氣氛, 但音量有點大加上歌曲類型, 實在感覺有點煩擾. But it's worth to try again.

Having read good things about this resteraunt I was keen to try it and called up with three days notice to reserve a table for Saturday night.This resteraunt, just about the only one in its price range and style, tells me that they do not take reservations, only walk in customers " as we are an informal resteraunt."There is no way I am going to cross town and risk being turned away, or made to wait for my table so I cancelled all ideas about trying here, and unfortunately can not write a review.

七月中(雨)向來喜歡吃意大利菜的我,自從得知位於中環的新商廈The L Place,除了港土茶記外還有另一間走輕鬆路線的新餐廳叫Linguini Fini,食物質素相當不俗,但價錢卻是非常合理,在美食林立的中環地區依然極具競爭力。我一直在盤算何時能騰出一個下午去親嚐,這天終於有機會了...中午時的LF全場爆滿,客人以附近上班一族為主,看來餐廳開業不久已贏得口痺。餐廳的招牌為一正在滾出舌頭的滾軸型意粉機,簡約年輕又搶眼,和店內輕鬆的用餐氣氛非常配合,而其收費也令人吃得’輕鬆’,連我等窮學生也可負擔得起.不會給人任何壓迫感。一坐下,侍應就送上餐單和片裝芝麻麵包,但並未用上曾提及的鐵盒盛載。麵包不算暖,不過也許我喜歡有芝麻和煙膩的東西,所以以夠接受比較厚硬但佈滿芝麻粒的麵包邊。麵包本身質感緊密,有麥香,添點橄欖球和黑醋吃味道更佳。不過因為要預留胃納,所以只淺嚐一片。頭盤點了五款:首先是簡單但鮮甜的caprese。蕃茄和水牛芝士從來都是絕配,這裏更用了幾個品種的本地有機番茄,有肉厚多汁的肉茄片,也有細小但鮮甜的紫色車厘茄,酸甜味道各有不同,絲毫不覺單調。自家制的水牛芝士質地偏實淨而有淡淡奶酥味

誰說外國人不吃內臟?意大利人就是吃內臟吃得精奇的西方民族之一,食用的內臟和處理手法之廣,絕對和中國人有得比。這裏也有不少以內臟為材的菜式,頭盤方面就有這一味用上八小時烹煮的牛肚 - 8 HOUR TRIPE。之前在w52吃過同樣菜式,那裏的燉煮得沒那麼軟稔,保留了牛肚本身的爽口質感,味道也較沉實,這裏的個人覺得偏甜了,也煮得不太像牛肚。不過可能只是個人口味作崇而已。

STRACCETTI DI MANZO(半生牛肉沙律)用上澳州牛肉,本身質素高所以肉味鮮甜,而且半熟的肉質非常嫩滑,也完全無渣,單吃已經叫人滿足。但加上襯底的火箭菜、少許意大利藍芝士和炸過的雅支竹,又成了一道沙律,味道鮮甜中有咸香,質感更加豐富。只是稍嫌菜的份量太少,牛肉相對之下很多,將之稱為沙律實在奇怪,也感覺太「食肉獸」,對喜歡吃菜的客人有點卻步。

然後是份量不少的長方形flatbread,配料有salami, goat cheese cherry pepper。之前在另一間意大利餐廳吃過一個很鹹的碎salami pizza,但這裏的salami香而不咸,切成碎粒並且非常香脆;羊奶芝士不太酥,加上少許甜椒作為點綴,已經是好吃極的無敵comfy配撘;餅底也非常薄和脆,就算放了好一陣子也依然保持脆身,而且絲毫不覺油膩,乾身有麥粉的像麵包,厚包邊也鬆綿有致,吃多一件都不會太飽滯。但當然不要放肆地吃太多,因為好戲還在後頭...

最後的頭盆則是HOUSE CURED LINGUA,牛舌切成薄片再淋上檸檬橄欖汁和切洋蔥,就這麼簡單。牛舌片切得有點過長,單是拿起已不太方便;但質感爽口,舌的酥味也不濃,平日不吃舌的人也輕易接受。橄欖油和檸檬汁的少許酸味也中和了肉的油膩味,很不錯。

之後的是四種不同的pasta,配料和醬汁都各有特色。

首先由比較清淡的招牌]L I N G U I N I F I N I開始,這裏既然名字叫linguini fini,手造的闊條麵是當然信心之作。這裏更是有創意地將本地色彩和意粉隔合,例如用本地咸蛋黃、鹹魚等等來煮意粉,非常有趣。這次試的是DRIED SHRIMP diavola Linguini Fini,先將蝦磨成醬並加入寬麵條,再用辣蕃茄醬煮而成。它的賣相好像很普通,味道卻是濃郁豐富得不得了,在醬汁的辛甜味下還有慢慢滲出來的海鮮咸香,加上煙膩又充滿蛋味的麵條,無論是味道或口感都充滿層次。這個麵好吃得令人上癮,令人忍不住想將之完全消滅...

然後是第二淡的FAZZOLETTI “NOSE TO TAIL BOLO”,FAZZOLETTI的意思是四方形的意大利麵,這裡更是用了從豬頭肉到小牛肉到牛尾肉, “NOSE TO TAIL BOLO”的三種肉去煮肉醬汁,選擇新奇,味道也濃郁得來帶層次感,例如有小牛肉的甜也有一梳梳牛尾肉的軟稔.正方片的麵條也可包住肉醬汁,令之更加入味,很家常很媽媽的感覺.不過比起之前辣得很過癮的辣蝦闊,這個相對就比較普通...

之後嘗的是用了豬胰臟的意大利雲吞,美稱為SWEETBREAD.這裡將豬胰臟切碎,整成帶濕潤的餡,味道和質感只帶少許內臟的酥味,平時不嗜內臟的也不會覺得難入口,只可惜意大利雲吞的皮真的厚了點點,味道也只未見突出,加上豬肉汁有點heavy,所以只是吃了一隻就沒意欲再去碰第二隻..

最後的就是CHITARRA,這個預計是味道會很濃,很重口味的一味,因為材料非常特別地用了雞肝,火腿,香草和黃糖與粗麵條一起煮,所以顏色是啡啡的,賣相特別但不太吸引...我不吃雞肝,所以先小心奕奕的淺嘗少許,嘗到的卻和想像中的完全不同:它味濃,但並不是我所不喜歡的那種油膩的重口味,而是有恰到好處的肝酥甜香,切成粒狀的帶點粉狀,加上少許甜甜的黃糖中和味道,出奇地很易入口.粗身的麵條充滿蛋味,不知怎的有點中式粗蛋麵的影子,而其偏濃的味道和同樣很濃的雞肝醬比較平衡,又酥又甜又咸的味道充滿層次感,好吃至極.這個樣不驚存的雞肝意粉叫人吃一口就愛上,甚麼膽固醇,甚麼肥膩的問題,大家都早已拋諸腦後,總之就是吃就對了...

吃完四款具特色的pasta,再來的就是兩款主菜.這裡除了手造麵條外,燒烤的食物也很不錯.

不知大家有沒有留意到在餐廳的門口有兩隻紅色的豬雕像,這是因為這裡另一主打正正是豬!豬肉不適合像牛肉般薄切,意大利的做法就會像他製成腸仔或風乾火腿,又或者是烤成燒豬,以爐火將豬的肉汁封住在香脆的皮和肥膏下,每一口都是充滿罪惡感但甜美的豬膏,好吃得飛天...話說回來,這一味意式慢烤豬脾及豬腩肉配辣椒芥辣醬,做法非常複雜,先要將本地生長但來自英國的豬的腩位釀入腸仔肉,再慢煮十幾小時,然後再放入烤爐燒製幾小時,再像皮,肉和肥膏切成粒粒,再舖在吸收了豬肉汁的麵包上面而成,帶點中式燒肉的影子.豬肉經過長時間的處理,所以非常軟稔不韌,但肉味和肉汁都保持了,切成小粒也可減底油膩感.

而這個主菜的亮點除了豬腩肉粒本身,伴碟的醃洋蔥沙律和自家製芥末更是不可錯過!沙律酸酸的非常開胃;而混合了洋蔥和辣椒的芥末更是甜中只帶少辣,不會辣得叫人吃得一抹眼淚,惹味得可以就這樣單吃!而英國海鹽就有點多餘,因為肉本身已經夠咸鮮,不需要外加甚麼去吊味;氈在肉粒底的麵包吸收了豬肉汁的其實非常好吃,只不過就這樣一大塊的’笪’在碟上,麵包也變韌了,想切又切不開,這麼大好的一片好麵包卻吃不了,實在有點浪費和可惜..

最後就是LARDO ROASTED CHICKEN.Lardo就是叫不少人又愛又恨的豬油,這隻燒雞做法非常有心思:用的先是新鮮本地有機雞,所以肉的鮮味先勝人一酬,再在燒烤時放在燒豬肉下面,豬滴下的油汁就會滋潤燒烤中的雞;再會用豬膏和豬油來掃雞的表面,所以皮脆得來有濃濃的豬肉香,好像在吃燒豬皮一樣,但薄脆得多,雞中有豬的味道非常新鮮.而雞的內部應該是用了檸檬等來醃製,帶少許清新的酸味,再點少許帶酸的番茄醋汁,肉味和表面的咸香成一對比.只是肉質方面有一點點鞋,但重點在其皮而非其肉,也可接受..

吃到這裡已經是超額完成,但聽說這裡的甜品也很不錯,所以無論怎麼飽也要再撐下去!這天嘗了兩種甜品,分別是Tiramisu和LEMON OLIVE OIL CAKE.

Tiramisu的賣相和傳統的不同,是在海綿蛋糕上面加上芝士忌廉和咖啡脆脆,再加一球朱古力味的意大利雪糕,沒有了傳統的咖啡酒浸手指餅,但3D的賣相非常吸引,質感也因此比傳統的豐富,一口能夠吃到冰凍的雪糕,幼滑香甜的芝士忌廉,非常討好地乾脆的coffee crumble,和鬆軟有致的海綿蛋糕,味道也香甜濃郁;雖然酒味對我而言太淡,也好像沒有甚麼咖啡的苦澀味,但既然這個是因為很多小朋友點,所以針對地調得較甜了,我也沒甚麼好投訴的,因為其實這個甜品已經很好吃,只是我想有多一點十八禁的醉香而已..

最後的就是樣子普通非常的檸檬橄欖油蛋糕,上面配以poppyseed gelato.我之前曾吃過橄欖油蛋糕,記得質感是重身的帶點濕潤,這個卻是完全不一樣,餅邊脆得不得了,餅身只是少許濕潤,帶橄欖油的香但一點也不油,加上一抹檸檬清香,味道更是輕怡.上面的雪糕奶味也濃郁,質感幼滑,和名牌雪糕的水準不相百仲.這個配搭簡單得來卻是出奇地好吃,也能夠勾起童年的點點滴滴:很記得我小時候就是吃一種差不多樣子的急凍蛋糕做早餐的,當時已經覺得很不錯,但當然這個新鮮的蛋糕味道好過何只幾十倍!也許正正就是這一種情感的attachment,這甜品勾起了小時候的快樂時光,也就更好吃了...

這頓午餐無論在味道,菜式的種類,做法和材料的多樣化,和創意各方面,都是近年在香港少見的,而且價錢更是非常合理,甚至可以說是瘋狂地便宜!我特別喜歡的是它輕鬆的用餐氣氛,那種叫人放下一天工作的辛勞,快快樂樂地和家人朋友吃一餐美味的飯的環境非常討好.再加上它們的材料大都是本地的有機產品,健康又叫人吃得放心...我想不到有甚麼不應該來這裡的理由!

第一次在openrice搵野食而令我失望,係極之失望。碟頭細之餘,仲要油膩到爆。要講homemade pasta, 佢都算一般,好似中學時家政堂第一次自製pasta既feel. 最差既就係趕人走,前後只逗留咗一個鐘(包括係cocktail bar飲咗柸野)不停地收野,收野又收野。我個朋友調頭望望個門口有冇人等位,見鬼影都冇隻,轉頭就嬲到即刻叫埋單, 仲講咗句 “阻住你張枱就話者!收,收,收...轉場,去整番碗細蓉!”

麵包籃 :落單後,店員立刻先送上麵包籃。濃厚的芝麻香,略暖的包身,比較建議配上橄欖油來吃更香,當然亦可選擇灑上些鹽巴。

Caesar & Nsalata Mista: 凱撒沙律選配用上新鮮且爽口的有機生菜,再加上水牛芝士的鹹香及鹹鯷魚醋,麵包粒雖是香口,但卻十分硬身。田園沙律改為灑上黑醋,用料同樣地新鮮(洋蔥,青瓜...),可惜兩道沙律卻同樣地鹹,故只吃下部分便已放棄了。
很喜歡這個Minestrone!! 食材新鮮豐富

Minestrone: 以蕃茄加上各式蔬菜烹調而成的湯品,蕃茄的酸味與甜味平衝得剛好,竟有開胃作用之餘,亦不會有過酸的感覺,其他蔬菜也充當著增加口感的角色。而且濃郁的湯一口喝下也不覺得太油膩,個人十分喜歡這湯,前菜享用正好不過。

Classic LINGUINI FINI Pomodori:選用自家製作的意大利麵條(食店照牌也標榜著自家製作)配上有機的蕃茄醬,一個最傳統的配搭。麵條質感確是出色,咬下口便感覺到意大利麵條應有的硬身程度而不是於坊間常見那些一團粉的口感,淡淡的麵粉香氣加上那酸甜適中的蕃茄醬及蕃茄令胃口更為此大增。

ON TOP OF SPAGHETTI:在灑滿了芝士碎的麵上放置了一大個自家製的meatball。食物送上時已可嗅出陣陣芝士香,整個麵的味道得宜。但問題是這次的麵身則未有如Classic那般水準,麵條的確有硬身,可惜是有點偏硬身了,故吃下去少了點彈牙口感。而meatball的肉碎也夠實的說,不會叉下去就散開一堆堆的。碟上還有兩塊烤得頗硬身的蒜茸包,香味是有可跟麵包籃上的麵包一樣略欠溫度。

Fettucine Funghi: 細扁的麵條配上有機蘑菇、菊苣和卡斯特馬諾芝士,貫徹彈牙口感及麵香的麵條吸收了芝士的香味,菇類亦炒得相當爽口富菇香,吃著吃著也不覺地清完一碟

Tiramisu: 店家除了提供六款甜品外還有自家製Gelato及雪芭供應。最後選了Tiramisu,它分別由馬士卡邦芝士、咖啡蛋糕碎及Gelato組成。Gelato為整個tiramisu帶來清涼的感覺,而那蓬鬆的蛋糕碎有著濃濃的咖啡味,更甚是我吃到了粒咖啡豆隱藏著~哈!而芝士蠻滑溜的,整個蛋糕味道配合得怡。

Apple Crostata:再來的是這款由甜薯奶油餅、蘋果焦糖及Gelato配搭而成的蘋果果醬批。帶點硬的批身頂上放著一大球乳酪酸味的Gelato,因此整個批吃著有種酸酸甜甜的味道。

Latte :咖啡本身溫度合格,可其奶泡的溫度不足,奶泡打得也欠綿密感,不過我不是來此偷啡的,故沒有太介懷,飯後有杯咖啡暖肚已不錯了


不論是晚餐或午餐時段,這裡都蠻熱鬧的。各店員們都在忙過不停,由客人坐下便立刻遞上餐牌,再到加開水,講解餐牌上的食物都做得到位。假若午餐時段,店員還會手持一大塊黑板為你介紹lunch set($98,跟湯或沙律及從四款意粉中選一,再有一杯咖啡或茶)的確蠻特別的。其間也不時看見店員在翻查電腦以確定客人的食物送上無誤及有否遺留。廚師亦樂於詢問客人的意見,幸好我那僅有的英文程度還夠讓我與他交談
!他聽見我喜歡那蕃茄,便說了如何烹調~nice


最後,食店沒有收取加一服務費,加上食物有著如此水準,可說是蠻划算的。餐牌上還有很多心怡選擇未試,也就留待下一次

先上是 insalata Mista (意式田園沙律), 既新鮮又有機的蔬菜, 每一口都是植物的清香, 可惜是沙律醬汁有點過咸, 影響了整體評分...

之後是賣相極具吸引力的 Straccetti Di Manzo (半生熟牛肉沙律), 肉質鮮嫩的半生熟牛肉配搭上藍芝士和烤雅枝竹, 一個看見而食慾大增的料理; 肉味濃郁加上口感軟腍的牛肉, 淨吃已經非常好, 假如和著藍芝士同吃, 會出現更多味覺的化學作用, 除非你不吃生肉, 否則這個是必然之選!

另一道會讓人愛不釋手的料理隨後出現, Eggplant, Scamorza, Sundried Tomato, Bazil Flat Bread (意大利卷餅), 單看外觀像是有一定厚度的卷餅, 但真正吃進口裡, 卻感覺厚薄適中, 外脆內軟的餅底, 配合香滑芝士和其他配料, 是一道讓人欲罷不能的美食.
配料和鬆軟度同樣出色的 Flat Bread 每一口都是享受

到意粉類登場, 先上是Chitarra (茄汁肉丸意大利扁麵), 意粉口感軟硬度剛好, 能做到 al dente 的程度; 肉丸混合了雞肝, 意大利煙肉和鼠尾草, 肉味濃郁之餘亦帶有內臟的甘香味, 喜歡的料理.

Fettucine Funghi (牛肝菌闊條麵), 多樣的菌類配搭卡斯特馬諾芝士同煮, 味道清香之餘又滲出陣陣芝士濃香, 和著彈牙的闊條麵同吃, 不俗的配搭!

Lamb Gnocchi (羊肉丸子一口麵團), 混入了意大利馬鈴薯的羊肉丸子, 口感和味道俱佳, 能嚐到鮮羊肉的騷香味, 一口小麵團有點像韓式小年糕, 但口感沒有那麼軟糯, 會彈牙一點, 和著羊蔥蕃茄醬同吃, 推介之選!

Salt Cured Egg genovese (鹽製鴨蛋意大利麵), 這款咸蛋意粉的配搭也頗為特別, 耐何咸蛋醬配合幼條意粉, 感覺咸了一點點, 若配搭闊條麵, 效果可能會更佳; 材料之一的小蕃茄, 鮮甜可口, 掙回不少分數.

Homemade Duck Sausage Rigatoni (鴨腸白豆醬配細齒輪粉), 這個醬料帶有淡淡鴨香, 齒輪粉亦做得不俗, 但相對之前出色的扁麵和闊條麵, 略嫌這個沒那麼精彩...

最後點了一款飽肚的料理作為主菜終結 Stewed White Beans (燉白豆配意大利煙肉及麵包糠), 口感軟腍的白豆, 和著香味四散的煙肉碎及增加口感細緻度的麵包糠同吃, 一個蠻有層次的配搭, 意粉之外的另類選擇.

餐廳送了兩款甜品給我們品嚐, 先上是Tiramisu, 分別由一層Mascarpone芝士, 一層意大利芝士蛋糕, 一層Gelato, 還有零星的咖啡蛋糕碎製作出與別不同的Tiramisu, 冰涼口感適合夏天品嚐, 唯獨酒味稍稍欠奉, 但跟據剛到訪過的食友描述, 餐廳已經就這道甜品加強了酒味, 過些時候會親自再來試吃.

另一款是Hot Chocolate Affogato, 碟裡面放了Galato, 棉花糖, 意大利餅乾, 進食前注入濃濃的熱朱古力, 單是視覺上的享受已經使我們十分雀躍, 趕忙試吃一口, 熱和冷的對比, 濃郁的朱古力味道, 都為我們帶來精彩的享受.

Waiting... and Waiting...

1) I don't come to Central for lunch often so while being here, I do want to try something new and different! Since I was craving for pasta, I've decided to give this restaurant a try. I went there at 11:30 and was informed politely that the restaurant would be opened at noon. The waitstaff asked if I'd like to have a drink first but I said I'll come back later.

Coming back at 12noon and customers started piling up at the waiting area because the restaurant was still not ready as the staff were being briefed... (I do appreciate the professionalism, but if you tell your customer your restaurant will open at 12, shouldn't the briefing be done BEFORE that?). Actually, waited for almost 20minutes before being seated!!
It kinda made you feel you were being forgotten as there's no organised way of sitting the guests who have been waiting for a while and those who were just arriving!


Atmosphere

Quite casual, relaxing and friendly... the setting actually made you feel at ease. I quite like their stools at the waiting area which resembled a tin can (with the company logo of course). The background music (I assume Jazz?) was matching to the modern setting. It was quite crowded over lunchtime though.

I was quite surprised that there was no lunch or drink menu until you asked... then the waiter would bring a HUGE piece of blackboard and explained to you about the Set Lunch (poor them... that thing looked quite inconvenient to carry). Though it's a nice gesture, I do think it'll be more pleasant if you actually present BOTH normal menu and lunch menu... otherwise the poor waiter will just be holding the large piece of blackboard while guests are struggling with options and checking back with main menu to check out the ingredients in selective pasta...

Service


From beginning to end, service was excellent! There seemed to be a good number of staff attending to guests' needs. Staff were attentive, responsive and polite, which this was the one consistent thing! They took initiative to top up water and check with you to see if the food was okay or if you need more cheese or pepper. Service staff were efficient and when they saw you have been waiting for main course for a long time, they would take initiative to check for you and let you know when it would be coming.

Food was just average... I ordered a Linguini Funghi Set lunch...

Oil spill in the soup >.<

When I took the first sip... heavy layer of oil swamping around the tomatoes. Maybe the staff saw my horrid expression and did check with me if the soup was okay... and explained that the oil's there to enhance the flavour. He pleasantly offered to change it into salad if I were not pleased with it. It was bit disappointing because I could see good tomatoes in there... but totally spoiled by the excessive olive oil spill!

Salad was a much pleasant find! The flavour was simple but mixed to a good acidity that appealed to your taste bud. The leaves were fresh and the tomatoes were juicy

It eventually came after a very long wait (around 40min?) and somehow was served warm instead of hot. I don't know why there seemed to be many staff around in the kitchen but it took them very long time to cook...

Overall it's just average. The texture of the pasta was good and to my liking but the flavour was bit too salty. There was no rich sauce or anything but it was just plain salty. Not a lot of mushrooms but fair enough... but few pieces were a bit bitter. Could've been nicer if they use fresh button mushroom as well.

OMG, did they wash the cup?! There were STAINS inside and outside the cup. This photo was actually taken before any tea was poured in!!


Immediately the staff attended to me and apologetically changed the cup for me but it was disgusting!

It's nice that they served the tea and lemon separately but they seriously need to review the size of the tea cup. It might be perfect for coffee but too small indeed for tea (esp when two slices of lemon were stuck in there)!

I guess this is a new restaurant and things are just starting to pick up?! I can see the seriousness and sincerity of the owner trying to make this a good restaurant. hopefully the overall experience is more pleasant next time!

甜魔們真的厲害,吃完超讚超絕的文華扒房,不少人的甜胃還有空間! 在拔魔的提議下,一行七人又去了新開不久,評價相當不俗的Linguini Fini吃多場甜品宵夜! 位於L Place一樓的新店,門外並無清晰店名,不過店內所有餐碟卻有印有名字。餐廳走的是Casual酒吧路線,燈光昏暗之餘,店內音樂又十分強勁(其實我們都嫌它實在太嘈了...),環境與氣氛與先前fine-dining的扒房絕對不能比,當然也不應比較。大概之前吃得太滿意了,心情亢奮之下還未望清楚甜品餐單,已決定了要全掃;除了六款甜品,我們又點下三球雪糕,然後就靜心等待甜品上檯。要講那等待過程都幾漫長的,還好大家有講有笑,時間才容易打發。 Homemade gelato(每天轉款,每球$18)上場了,雖然定價本不算貴,但份量卻是袖珍得緊要,而且上檯時已經頗融;而三款中最好是粟米味,奇特得來幾美味;酸甜中帶芝士的Lemon Cheesecake也不錯;反而向來穩打穩紮的開心果卻口味怪異,殊不好吃!吃過強差人意的雪糕,之後其他的甜品水準更加令人失望,不是為了食評我也沒有心思去記住每一款的仔細味道.. 先講較好的Tiramisu($

位於L Place一樓的新店,門外並無清晰店名,不過店內所有餐碟卻有印有名字。餐廳走的是Casual酒吧路線,燈光昏暗之餘,店內音樂又十分強勁(其實我們都嫌它實在太嘈了...),環境與氣氛與先前fine-dining的扒房絕對不能比,當然也不應比較。

大概之前吃得太滿意了,心情亢奮之下還未望清楚甜品餐單,已決定了要全掃;除了六款甜品,我們又點下三球雪糕,然後就靜心等待甜品上檯。要講那等待過程都幾漫長的,還好大家有講有笑,時間才容易打發。
 
Homemade gelato(每天轉款,每球$18)上場了,雖然定價本不算貴,但份量卻是袖珍得緊要,而且上檯時已經頗融;而三款中最好是粟米味,奇特得來幾美味;酸甜中帶芝士的Lemon Cheesecake也不錯;反而向來穩打穩紮的開心果卻口味怪異,殊不好吃!

吃過強差人意的雪糕,之後其他的甜品水準更加令人失望,不是為了食評我也沒有心思去記住每一款的仔細味道.. 先講較好的
Tiramisu($48),由意大利芝士蛋糕、mascarpone芝士、咖啡蛋糕碎、冰凍朱古力,及意大利芝士雪糕組成,實在當中每一款食材都相當普通,唯一逗人開心是面層雪糕夠大球!

Hot Chocolate Affogato($48)是由熱朱古力意大利雪糕、意大利餅乾(biscotti)及棉花糖雪糕組成,最特別之處是上檯後,會由侍者淋上暖朱古力醬,得到額外的視覺享受,也是大家最為期待的一項。

可惜,成品的朱古力外殼實在太硬實,朱古力醬又不夠熱暖,成品似是想融又融不到,有點不知所措之感;更重要是那朱古力醬的質素,比起上一頓所試的差得太遠,一點不香濃醇厚,棉花糖雪糕又太融太少,起不了冰火/化學作用;最後還要大彈那biscotti既硬又實,非常難食,結果無法不吃剩!

Almond Panna Cotta($48),據餐牌介紹由杏仁奶凍、杏仁味烈酒、櫻桃、意大利杏仁曲奇餅及25年意大利黑醋組成,講到很精妙,其實食來只是一磚口感與味道都普通的杏仁奶凍,所謂的酒味與醋味都不太覺,不過至少當中的櫻桃味道不差,也可收貨。

Anansa Straciatella($48)是由菠蘿雞蛋奶泡,加上香草朱古力碎忌廉組成;甜酸交錯的滋味理應幾清新的,然而當中混和蛋味,就變得古怪兼且不協調了,我只吃了一口就收手。

上述甜品別說與上場比較,根本連SOHO一帶的餐廳水準也未及,依我看主要是定價不高,抵食多於好食。
 
曼後既然一場來到,大家也決定試試這裡的意粉,就在招牌推介中選出
Salt Cured Egg Genovese;意粉可揀小份/大份裝,是晚揀了小細只需$58,不過份量也真的幾啖可完成。一試這款由咸蛋、蕃茄、香草作配料的細長意粉,感覺是細長意粉口感不俗,然而所用橄欖油質素太低,非但沒有動人香口滋味,配上蕃茄及咸蛋更有腥臭感,而且油的份量也實在太多,吃得每一個人都直搖頭,圖片上載後爭著dislike....

由於店內不收加一,這頓埋單只需$400,可見便宜真是一大賣點,消費分分數比樓下Cantonpop還低;另外場內有位鬼鬼地的侍者十分可愛,是男版的秀色可餐,也成為當晚的開心事之一。所以個人感覺是一試無妨,但就不要抱太高期望!

I was excited about this opening for 2 reasons...1 because the chef from 208/Babbo was opening it, and 2 because it's right next to my office. I was excited about this opening for 2 reasons...1 because the chef from 208/Babbo was opening it, and 2 because it's right next to my office. I've actually been for lunch, dinner and gotten take-away within the last few weeks and am really impressed!

The interior is cool, they have artwork by a local artist and it has a really relaxed vibe and funk music playing in the background.

My favorite cocktails are the whiskey smash and watermelon punch, both nice and refreshing! Food-wise, I haven't had anything that I didn't like, but I do have a few favorites.


- Eggplant Flatbread: the flavors work really well together, and even though it's vegetarian it has a really rich flavor from the cheese

- Caprese: delicious home-made mozzarella, sweet tomatoes and very nice balsamic...could be a bit bigger though

- White gold bars: breaded and fried cheese, how can you go wrong?!


- Linguini w/ clams: I'm not usually a huge fan of clams but they're already taken out of the shell and the sauce is spicy and brothy, perfect for dipping bread

- Fazzoletti bolo: Mmm love this dish - uses all different parts of meat, really rich taste but the pasta is light so it works perfectly

- Porchetta: this one just melts in your mouth...rotisserie pork and crispy pieces of the skin on top of a piece of bread coated with pork juices. It comes with a little fennel salad and mustard on the side, one of my favorites!

- Hanger steak: I've gotten this twice and both times it's been perfectly cooked with a bit of a char on the outside which gives it a lot of flavor. Absolutely delicious steak - I just wish it was a little bigger so I could have more! But for the money it's a good deal for meat this quality.

I've heard that they don't take reservations but thankfully I have not had to wait as of yet. It's just opened and I'm sure it will get busier, so will have to see what happens with the availability, but either way I'll definitely be returning!

眾多款意大利粉,配合特色有機食材,千挑萬選,最終選擇:

原來細 size 只得 3 粒意式素菜水餃,外型跟意大利差不多!實在淺嚐!
唯有安慰自己少吃多滋味啦!

用上自家製意大利粉,口感略帶煙韌,這是正宗意式煮法!包住有機素菜餡料,配搭清新!
茄子混入有機番茄醬,很惹味!
但不太食得出有什麼其他素菜餡料!質感好似吞拿魚混合沙律;羊奶芝士味甚濃且香!
配合橄欖油較為健康!
一試無妨!

Served with olive oil, balsamic, butter, salt - all or any one! cute tin, no?

"insalata mista", starter from the set lunch
Lightly dressed with balsamic vinaigrette, these raw organic vegetables were great. The roasted red peppers were incredibly sweet. The cucumbers, mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, red onion were superbly fresh and juicy when they needed to be.

L had a "Caesar salad" with parmigiano reggiano, croutons and an anchovy dressing which came with a single anchovyy on top.

"fettuccine funghi" ($98 with starter and tea / coffee for set lunch)
I thought this plate certainly tasted better than it looked (although if you scroll down you'll see that at dinner it does look tidier!).
The assorted mushrooms were packed with earthy mushroomy goodness, together with lightly coated fettuccine strands with castelmagno cheese sauce. Though I personally didn't like the radicchio (too bitter) it's there to cut the potential richness of the dish. Mushroom-lovers out there - please try this one.

"classic linguini fini pomodori" ($98 for set lunch with appetizer + tea/ coffee)
linguini fini is their signature pasta - so I was excited to try it when it was described. The pasta retains a bite despite its susceptibility to be easily over-cooked, and with the sweet and acidic cherry tomatoes in sauce I didn't even miss the meat. This photo was taken before the grated cheese - there's an option to have parmigiano reggiano grated on top: if you like a less-acidic sauce, have more!

Lunch ended with a choice of lavazza coffee (or lattes, cappuccinos, the lot) or tea.

Fast track several hours, I was back for dinner. We were served more of the sesame bread and then our orders began rolling in...

"Straccetti Di Manzo" ($98)
I'm not really in to the idea of rare beef. I had a bad experience once in an Italian restaurant, where rare (and more expensive) veal was served with a tonnato sauce, which was horrendous. Here, the beef was rare yes, but you don't taste any blood. The anchovy aioli was light, balanced, and complimented the beef and gorgonzola.... I'm converted!

"Caprese Salad" ($88)
Featuring organic tomatoes, mozzarella, basil and a 12-year balsamico.
Being served next to the beef and the flat bread, this caprese salad looked tiny and not what we expected for its price. At first I thought maybe it was a half-portion but the bill said otherwise. The green cherry tomatoes is a first for me in Hong Kong, and the mozzarella (from Posto) was equally great though one thin slice cut into three and stacked between a couple tomato slices didn't cut it in comparison to the other plates of appetizers we had. Perhaps the 12-year balsamic vinegar jacked up its price or perhaps we expected too much after eyeing the straccetti di manzo, but for us, the balsamic didn't stand out and the plate could easily use more of those sweet cherry tomatoes and a couple more slices of mozzarella.

"Fried Calamari" ($68)
The calamari battered in a some kind of milk batter (according to the waiter), I'm guessing buttermilk? The rings of squid weren't evenly coated and were cold and soggy, though I did like the red pepper aioli as the dipping sauce.
Our waiter asked us after the appetizers how our meal was so far and I told him our slight disappointment with the calamari, expecting him only to give feed-back to the chef for future reference and no intention to "return" it since it was already gone! But no, we were given another plate on the house - how's that for service?! Our second plate (below) was more evenly coated, had a better crunch and was definitely hot, though we still think the batter may not be the best for this super-tender calamari.... Whilst marinating calamari in buttermilk does lots to tenderize the protein, a light and airy batter might be more popular.

"Rosemary, Sea Salt, Garlic oil Flat Bread" ($48)
The flat bread was slightly too burnt around the bottom edges (the bottom was black!) but the top was very golden brown, crunchy, salty and aromatic with garlic and rosemary. I enjoyed its salty-crispiness a lot, but beware this does have a lot of salt. If salt's not really your thing go for the other flatbreads.

"Lamb & Sweet Onion Ragu with Fazzoletti" (instead of gnocchi) ($118)
Lamb Ragu Gnocchi was nominated, but since I don't like potatoes (i'm weird like that) we asked for another pasta to substitute. The chef recommended Fazzoletti to be paired with the ragu and we happily agreed. The ragu was hearty and well-seasoned; the handkerchief-like pasta softer in comparison to the linguini fini but goes great with this type of tender stewed meat.

"On Top of Spaghetti" ($118)
This is actually a single large meatball on top of spaghetti in a marinara-like sauce, served with garlic bread and "all covered with cheese". There isn't actually that much cheese when it's served - you have the option for more when your waiter/waitress comes to ask you. The meatballs were tender, seasoned great but after Posto Publicco's I'm not sure its as good for some reason..... its just a little lacking compared to Posto's. Anyway, the spaghetti again was perfectly cooked leaving a little bite to it. Hmm...

"Fettuccine Funghi" ($98)
Same as lunch, just prettier =P.

"Charred Corn" ($48)
Another vegetable that I don't usually like is grilled corn. I don't mind them in soup but on the cob, ones here in Hong Kong aren't usually sweet enough and just messy to eat. At Linguini Fini they're sliced off the cob and seasoned with chilis and garlic chives, good sprinkling of salt and pepper though none of these masks the incredibly sweet yellow vegetable. A great (but small) side dish.

"Chocolate Affogato" ($48)
My favourite dessert. This couldn't have been better for me. The marshmallow gelato on top was not too sweet and the biscotti tasted like a regular Graham cracker but with a harder crunch. The chocolate 'bowl' melts together with the ice cream when the thick and hot dark chocolate-espresso sauce is poured in. Of course, you can pour a little at a time to prevent it melting too quickly, but we let it melt... =)

"Tiramisu" ($48)
Not your average espresso-soaked lady fingers layered with sweetened mascarpone cream and sifted cocoa powder but this was a slightly twisted rendition using a chocolate-coffee flavoured gelato on top of light mascarpone cream and a sponge cake underneath to soak up the liquids, finished with a crumble of coffee cake.

"Lemon Olive Oil Cake" ($48)
Served with a scoop of creamy poppy seed gelato. Of course poppy seed doesn't have much taste so it resembled vanilla ice cream. The lemon cake had the texture of a pound cake, sliced and toasted before serving so it was dry and slightly warm - this is where the oil and gelato comes in to help moisten everything. I could hardly detect the lemon, but if advertised as plain, I really liked the simplicity of the dessert.

"Apple Crostata" ($48)
Served with apple caramel, yogurt gelato and a sweet potato cream.
Hmmm I had been warned the crust was doughy but my main issue with this dessert was rather with the apples. They were barely noticeable, and when I did find a piece it was very thin and dried out in the baking process, so it was slightly chewy... I'd prefer the apples sauteed with a slightly thickened sauce and added to the tart before baking to keep them moist. Otherwise, a very pretty dish.

"Almond panna cotta" ($48)
Reminds me of chinese almond-tea. Though this is not everyone's cup of tea, I enjoyed this ultra smooth panna cotta with the cooked sweet and tart cherry sauce, balsamico, and amaretti cookies for crunch. This and the lemon olive oil cake above were on the house, so thank you!

Honestly, Linguni Fini was a great find for me. The waitstaff were pleasant and keen about the restaurant, the majority of the menu items were reasonably priced and the food is great, especially the pastas, their (many) organic vegetables, refined desserts and I've learnt I do like rare beef done right. Now I'm just thinking when my next visit will be!
