Done some research on Espuma before coming. You need to book in advance to dine for dinner and it'd cost a minimum of $800 per person, so my friend and I opted to try the afternoon tea first to see if it is worthy first. We did not make any reservation and just walked in. The staff were not exactly welcoming, more towards the nonchalant attitude. But the decoration at this place was pretty fancy!
We ordered the afternoon tea and it was just average. The tea was divided into 4 layers; smoke on top (which I thought it was coo), then the heavy layer with 2 mini burgers, 2 mozzarella and 2 mushroom bisques. Next layer came with cupcakes and cheesecake. The cupcake served was not freshly made, and I could guarantee to you that this is worse than the cupcakes you can buy in 7-11 or maxim for $9. The last layer contained a couple of puddings and 2 cones.
We also ordered tea on the side as they were not included with the food (so I had no idea why they call it afternoon tea). All in all, it was not a pleasant experience with Espuma. This was just the afternoon tea experience and it does not reflect the other courses they serve, and but I would personally not come back to try them out after this first very-average quality of food and customer service.
