Wanted to try something new with a friend whose bday was coming up...haven't tried teppanyaki in HK for ages so decided to give it a shot. Thurs night...Not alot of ppl as expected. first impression - TOO HOT waiting for the stupid elevator...but oh well. I requested for table when I made reservation. Nice and comfy cushions! heehee... environment is ok...a little dimmed but not too dark. Not very japanese tho.Nothing too exceptional in terms of service. We weren't offered tea right away

Nothing too exceptional in terms of service. We weren't offered tea right away but we weren't rushed to order either. We started off with drinks and the waitress promptly took our order.
There was no lobster meal for 2 on special as I expected from reading previous comments. Nonetheless, we still went ahead with the lobster set ($398per).
At first glance, thot there wasn't much food but turned out I was so full by the time I had the fried rice.
Salad - so-so
Lobster - Excellent
Geo-duck - yumyum
Beef shoulder loin - yumyum
Fried vegetable - uurrggghhh (no taste at all)
Foie Gras - pretty good
Lobster miso soup - ok great
Fried rice - very yum but i was too full
Dessert - ice-cream - didn't look too appealing but turned out to be very good after trying it! Highly recommended (tho, once again, very full by now).
The vegetable was the most disappointing!
Portion is pretty good for two. Don't underestimate the amount of food you get!
Make sure you request for a table. Sitting in front of the teppanyaki table is fun cuz you see all the actions and the chef strategically switches on-off the lights to make special effects (yes! it's like mini-show) but it gets rather greasy and there really aren't enough actions to keep guests entertained.
