I was early that night, didn't wanna wait like an idiot out in the darkness I got my table like half an hour early. I was served by a hunk who sort scowled at me when I ordered nth but an iced water as I just settled n handed the drink menu. 'Iced water will be charged $10 if no drink is ordered' branded across the bottom of it, the lacto soft drink looked good, yet the others not bad too, a recommendation would better do and the hunk came over again and I finally got the lacto one, this time I
Slices of bread was served I picked those with walnuts, the homemade butter was exceptionally creamy and soft I can’t bother to smear it all over the bread!. The dinner was kicked off by red deer carparccio served with thin slices of salty cheese, this freshly marinated and succulent raw deer gave our taste buds a nice start which is followed by the day’s special, a plate of baby mussels sizzled in creamy herbal cheese sauce, its small size made it easily absorb the sauce and further enhance its succulence. To truly get the taste of traditional swiss cheese fondue, we got a mixed-cheese-with-liquor one and the other with minced chicken but no liquor, the former one would be highly recommended for cheese-mania but would be a bit pungent for the others, the wine was just of enough amount to add a bit of wonderful smell of it, while the later one would be largely acceptable but the minced chicken made it easily became concentrated so take it quick! One tip from my friend saying dip the bread crumb down to bottom and swirl it around to avoid overheating the bottom. We ordered a main dish as well, lamb chops in red wine with spinach favoured dumplings, the lamb was nice but the limelight still shone on the cheese fondue we kept ordering more bread crumbs, the dumplings..um....yet not a bad try.
The staff was attentive and friendly, the hunk who I later recognized was the chef and proprietor of the chalet.
