Every once awhile, I will bring my wife out for a nice dinner to reward ourselves and pamper her. This time round, I decided to bring her to a Teppanyaki restaurant that was quite famous around. It was located opposite Harbour City and we were able to enjoy the nice view at the top of the building. We were being assigned to the centre of the bar table, so we were able to have a full view of the chef's cooking. We chose their set for 2 person. We were being assigned to the centre of the bar table, so we were able to have a full view of the chef's cooking.
We chose their set for 2 person. This set was quite fulfilling as it consisted of starters, appetizers, soup, meat, rice, vegetables and desserts.
Grilled fatty tuna, hokkaido whelk salad with red plum sauce - The salad was fresh and juicy, with water bursting out of my mouth. Fatty tuna was grilled instead of being served raw. It was tender, and the sauce provided helps to enhance the flavour. Hokkaido whelk was meaty and chewy.
Signature Italian toast - Tomato cubes was grilled for awhile before being served on top of a toast. It was juicy and fresh, but it will be better if the toast was more crispy.
Lobster bisque - There were 3 choices for the soup and i decided to go for lobster bisque. There were 4 or 5 small pieces of lobster meat and it was very chewy and soft. The lobster soup was very rich and flavourful, but not thick enough.
Australia abalone with pomelo vinegar sauce - When the chef placed the abalone on the iron plate, it was still alive and i could see it moving. Pomelo vinegar sauce was dripped all over the plate for us to drip onto. The abalone was chewy and rich in flavour. I personally feel that the sauce has overwhelmed the freshness taste of the abalone and will be better if the sauce was served separately.
Spanish red king prawn with tomato spicy sauce - Firstly, the chef digged out those juices from the prawn's head and mixed them with egg. The size of the prawn was not particularly huge, but the meat was chewy and fresh. It compliment nicely with the tomato spicy sauce provided. The omelette was quite special, as the lobster taste has overwhelmed the taste of the egg and was smooth.
Mushroom & cucumber were grilled till soft and juicy, but was abit oily.
U.S prime sliced beef rolls - We chose premium beef three way as our main, which consisted of 3 types of beef meat. We requested for 50% cooked so as to retain some redness in it. A slice of bread was used as the base to put those meat on top of it. I guessed this was an interesting concept to absorb those oil. It was also quite interesting to see wasabi being served so that we can paste abit on it. This beef rolls was the best among the 3 meats they served. It was tender and juicy.
Ox tongue - I feel that this was being grilled slightly too long as the meat was abit tough and charred.
Wagyu beef rib eye - There was some redness in the meat and was tender and juicy. There were salt provided at the side to enhance the flavour as well. I did asked the chef if we could eat the bread and he replied yes. The bread was surprisingly tasty as it has absorbed all the essence of the meat.
Fried rice - The portion was quite huge as it was filled to the brim. The size of the rice grains was big and huge and it was fried till every grains was separated. The rice was very tasty and flavourful as the chef has added egg, anchovies and onion to enhance the flavour.
Seasonal vegetables - Bean sprouts, cabbage, carrot slices and mushroom were used to fry. Fried rice goes well with the vegetables as i ate them together. It was fried till soft and juicy.
Pomelo sorbet - It was very sweet and sour, with the icy feeling. There were even pomelo meat in the sorbet.
