Their croissants were divine- perfect balance between a shattering, crisp outside and a soft, shreddy, buttery inside with lots of richness and sweet nuttiness from the good butter they use. I also bought their chestnut bread, which is actually more like a loaf made from a croissant-like danish dough- of course, the bread part itself was fantastic but since they named it 'chestnut bread' I would like to see a bit more chestnut filling- it was made by marbling chestnut paste throughout the bread

Also, their 'Almond Croissant' only had a pinch of sugared almonds scattered across the top... Would like a bit more almonds in or around the croissant.

After the tiring lesson, I felt so hungry, so i decided to go to Hysan place and have something nice!! When I was on the escalator going to Jason's Food and Living, there was some wonderful smell, smell like freshly baked bread n cakes.Immediately, I went to see if there is any freshly baked croissant, which is one of the most famous products of Urban Bakery. Immediately, I went to see if there is any freshly baked croissant, which is one of the most famous products of Urban Bakery. Luckily, there was no long queue and there was ONE almond croissant left. I quickly got it and got some other bakery.


I KO the almond croissant within 1 min and I wanted to buy one more. However, the next round of the croissant is 25mins later, so I did not wait for it. The almond croissant tasted buttery with a crispy texture. The sweet almond on top matched with the layers of pastry so well and I reli like it.

The other bakery that I bought are the honey toast and cheese bread. For the honey toast, although it was cold, the honey layer and sugar on top of the toast combined fabulously that gave a really nice taste.

For the cheese bread, i really appreciate the fact that, there are a lot of cheese cube!! When I got back home, i put it in the oven, the cheese cube melt and gave a fantastic flavour.

Quite frankly, I was surprised that they kept track of how many croissants they bake, but anyhow that was beside the point. Do note that each customer is limited to 9 croissants only! After titillating the sense of smell, it is about time to get those tastebuds to do the judging!

(A.O.C) Almond Croissant

Right..what exactly did those initials A.O.C represent? It stood for appelllation d'origine controlee, which is the French certification granted to certain French geographical indications for wines, cheeses, butters and other agricultural products.With a rigorous set of clearly defined standards, premium A.O.C graded quality butter was used in the making of the croissants, which explained the richness of the butter flavour. It was crisp to the bite and will almost certainly leave your eating trails behind with those buttery flakes.

Personally, I favoured the almond croissant more than the original, with the former having a slight tinge of sweetness, enough to please one's palate and not overly saccharine causing satiation to one's appetite. We particularly enjoyed the light crisp surface of the croissant which had a beautiful toast coat and the fluffy insides filled with pockets of air. The texture is further enhanced with the well baked almond flakes which offered an added crunch. Most importantly, the flavours were well balanced between the mild salinity from the butter and the sweetness owed to the glaze coating over the almond flakes.

Certainly one of the top-rated croissants tried in Hong Kong thus far.

We were pretty much attracted by the powdered wordings 'Try Me' and decided to give this widely popular pastry a shot. We were mildly disappointed to say the least when it came to the tasting, for the pastry was not as crisp and flaky as expected. In fact, it was slightly damp on the inside. The creme patisserie at the mid-section separating the layers of puff pastries was a generous spread of vanilla creme. It was fresh and ingredients were premium, spotting vanilla pods. Not the best version of Napoleon, I am afraid but it was passable due to the quality ingredients.

This pastry was baked exactly how it should be. Topped with some almond flakes, the puff was beautifully baked leaving a crisp surface and a fluffy, almost feather-like inside that was soft and moist. The custard was velvety smooth and light in both flavour and density and complemented the crusty texture on the surface well. It was comparable to the commonly known Choux Creme or Beard Papa though these are speciality bakers for puffs.

As you reveal this well crusted chestnut loaf from the plastic wrapper, it gives off a fresh bake fragrance and a strong tinge of chestnut. It was well-baked, with a crisp crust lining the surface that crumbles with each bite. There were slight swirls of the chestnut creme on the inside which was soft and moist, but apart from the aroma, you would not be able to taste much of the chestnut. Overall, the texture was good, but the tasting was somewhat lacking.

The chicken pie was crisp on the outside and you could see the flakes from the picture. A strong fragrance of butter enough to please and not satiate one's appetite. The chicken fillings on the inside was tender and were in small bite-sized chunks which made it go well with each bite, but the portion could be more.

The butter cake had a misleading simple paper wrap, but the taste was unbelievably good. It was moist, soft and rich in flavour. The texture was consistent and even throughout and one could not help but help for a second slice. Despite the rich butter flavour, it was not overwhelming nor did it leave one with greasy lips. Never judge a cake by its look!

However as you may notice,
there is a croissandwich called "Langoustine with Curry Emulsion" on promotion as well.
Same as the precious one it is made to order.
But there is no advanced order required.
The most impressing thing is that it only priced $38!!!

Sure I had both of it at once.
After tasting them, I found not much difference in between them.

The taste of the Curry croissant did not give me much curry favor, not even spicy at all.
In a way, it is more "juicy" because of the eggyork saucing.

The precious croissant is more chewy with mouthful of lobster fresh.
And it is why it is a lot more costy.

昨日人在銅鑼灣,肚在打鼓之際,好想晚飯前先來一個牛角包。原本想試LE SALON的牛角包,可惜售罄。於是便到樓下的URBAN BAKERY,剛巧人不多又遇著最後一轉牛角包新鮮出爐,於是便買了杏仁牛角包一試,果然名不虛傳!包身鬆軟不起筋,杏仁片及包面上的點點糖粒豐富了口感,不太點又有牛油的香酥,再加上新鮮出爐更份外香脆,好好吃唷! 以後到銅鑼灣,又多一個令我心思思想買吃的地方!

今日食咗個好豐富嘅 lunch,諗住夜晚果餐食少啲減下肥,點知放工經過希慎 Urban Bakery,見班小姐太太排晒長龍,原來係我最愛的牛角包新鮮出爐,好耐之前已經聽朋友講呢間的牛角包好食,比起樓上的 Le Salon 平一半有多,即刻排隊買黎試下,雖然好想趁新鮮熱辣即刻食,不過都係忍到返東涌屋企先食,雖然凍咗,但依然鬆脆,真係好好味呀!弊家火,肯定以後每次去銅鑼灣做完嘢都會忍唔住去買,今次實肥死鳥!

擾攘了半小時,終於買了朱古力味的牛角包。
步出餅店後二人即刻開餐。咬下去,沒有驚喜。我明白要等待牛角包冷卻後才可以拈上朱古力。
但聽到旁邊買原味的客人也說牛角包不是熱的。
的確,要等25分鐘才可以焗製1 tray的牛角包,但不排除我們吃的不是這趟新鮮出爐的牛角包

說回牛角包,比普通的牛角包體型較長。
Urban Bakery用了什麼法國AOC認值的優質牛油,小妹孤陋寡聞。不知道是什麼東東。
但說真的,我完全嗅不到牛角包有飄來任何的陣陣牛油香味。
而且咬下去,牛油味被面上的朱古力漿搶去了。我認為朱古力的味道較甜。
但裏面層次分明,而且非常鬆化。
雖然牛角包是涼了,但仍帶咀嚼勁。
期望太高,所以也不是我杯茶,但客觀來說,比很多bakery的來得出色。

與男友很快就ko了這個等了30分鐘的牛角包。

此時忍不住界了楓糖多士其中的一小塊品嘗,
雖然麵包涼了。但麵包非常鬆軟。楓糖的味道非常配合,甜度也非常適中。

麵包皮雖然很厚,但也非常鬆軟。我最怕有些連有力的大牙都扯不開的麵包皮。

真的很久沒有吃過楓糖多士了。以10元價錢而且在銅鑼灣的地區,絕對物超所值。

付款的時候還看到有些special的牛角包。
有些索價100元。不過個人有個人的喜好,小妹還是喜歡普通的牛角包。這樣才可以品嘗最原始的味道。

再有下一次的話,應該向bakery的麵包類進發

牛角包的…還是等待不用排隊才買吧

與太座逛銅鑼灣,逛到希慎廣場的地庫,不期然想起這間顯赫一時的麵包店,捧場客要排隊買牛角包,今天看人龍不長,只得五、六人,也跟隊去。牛角包只得一種,杏仁牛角包,遂買了一個,另外買一個泡芙試試。杏仁牛角包暖暖的,顏色烘得金黃,麵粉與牛油經過餅師的手藝結合後,變成了一隻直身的牛角,撕開一層一層的牛角包肉,有牛油的香味,但沒有牛油的羶味,鬆化可口,包面的杏仁片,又甜又香脆,與牛角包的味道很夾,是優質的牛角包。泡芙 樣子似龜背,賣相麻麻,表面的杏仁片燒焦了,又黑又苦,但一間享負盛名的店,餅師仍拿出來賣,QC實在做得很差,內裏的吉士味道平平,不及崇光地庫的泡芙老店般香甜軟滑,相對牛角包,我對這泡芙有點失望。

牛角包只得一種,杏仁牛角包,遂買了一個,另外買一個泡芙試試。杏仁牛角包暖暖的,顏色烘得金黃,麵粉與牛油經過餅師的手藝結合後,變成了一隻直身的牛角,撕開一層一層的牛角包肉,有牛油的香味,但沒有牛油的羶味,鬆化可口,包面的杏仁片,又甜又香脆,與牛角包的味道很夾,是優質的牛角包。

泡芙 樣子似龜背,賣相麻麻,表面的杏仁片燒焦了,又黑又苦,但一間享負盛名的店,餅師仍拿出來賣,QC實在做得很差,內裏的吉士味道平平,不及崇光地庫的泡芙老店般香甜軟滑,相對牛角包,我對這泡芙有點失望。

题外话/补充资料: 泡芙放在雪櫃內,要由女店員代取,交到手時已入袋,看回所拍照片,陳列的泡芙,個個賣相不差,但收到的是另一回事,很難令人沒有其他想法,也許下次惠顧時要細看後才離開較妥當。

在GOODAY老闆娘親自將蛋糕拿出,一眾朋友的艾瘋狂拍及讚美一輪後,兩塊搞鬼笑臉曲奇分給小朋友吃,有朱古力的曲奇相信也不難吃的吧!

黃色花盆雖說是可吃的但又硬得切不開,大家決定象徵式切蛋糕後自行動手先吃水果,再以吃家庭裝雪糕的方法吃蛋糕。想不到放至高低有致的各款生果相當甜美,無論草莓、奇異果、蜜瓜、芒果四者皆甜,用來當飯後果也很合適;剛才那切不開的黃色花盆像是朱古力但又很硬,試一片卻是很淡味的不知名東西,這個花盆部份棄之不可惜。

吃掉竹籤陣水果後,下面出現一層如泥土的朱古力碎,朱古力下就是蛋糕部份,以茶匙一舀之下原來是大量幼滑忌廉+少許海綿蛋糕及一點芒果粒的比例組合, 雖則忌廉仍算輕柔滑溜不膩口,只是其比例實在有點過多,可以減少一點忌廉加多點蛋糕會更好吃的。

雖然今次買蛋糕並沒有買過其火紅牛角包,不過我也曾經一試其水準,只因去年某次茶聚前,屯門街坊傳來一張牛角包照, 還說當時沒有人等候,即時請她代買一個牛角包($12),這位屯門街坊朋友不吃牛角包仍會代為安排,這位街坊心地真好!

那天在餐廳中借用麵包籃一角,陽光下的牛角包煞是好看。

出爐牛角包沒有即日食用,風味當比出爐即吃為低,包子較深色的外層下是一輪輪清晰的牛角包組織,每圈麵包層薄如蟬翼的相連著,扁扁的牛角包其實仍帶咀嚼勁,不是只有一個外殼的產品;在沒有叮熱或焗熱下,牛角包仍透出誘人牛油香,畢竟這款麵包愈多牛油就愈鬆化, 愈好吃就因為愈多牛油就是了,好吃的通常不健康嘛,嘿嘿。

Went to Urban bakery last night was curious about the limited edition sandwich they started selling.Ordered one and was nice to see the staff making it fresh at the counter. Every single ingrediant compliments each other very well. The lobster was so tender, along with the soft boiled quail eggs, tapanade, and chorizo. It was a meal of its own. The lobster was also nicely presented. Even at $120 a piece, i still think its totally worthwhile.

禮拜日去希慎誠品逛逛,經過Urban Bakery,忍吾住又入去八下有咩新產品。。。結果?不得了不得了,荷包又要大出血!!!皆因佢地最新出佐個龍蝦牛角三文治(全名:原隻龍蝦尾溏心鵪鶉蛋西班牙辣肉腸地中海橄欖醬香草牛角三文治,請嘗試一口氣讀完。。。)係用我最愛嘅龍蝦做餡哦,點忍到口???盛惠120大元啊!!!又係即場order製作,你睇,出來嘅成品幾靚,成碟送甘,賣120係有原因嘅。。。吃落,龍蝦肉爽甜,辣肉腸脆辣提升曬味覺,鵪鶉蛋夠juicy,口感好多層次,加埋招牌牛角嘅牛油香,正吖~同場加映:Urban 4只招牌牛角:原味、芝士、朱古力同杏仁。再加映:花盆蛋糕~上面嘅士多啤梨好新鮮好大粒,下面聽講係黑森林蛋糕,成只都吃得架wakakaka~~~

從某一飲食論壇,看到有人介紹這間麪包店的牛角包,特別是這款每日只售5個的白松露配三文魚炒蛋牛角包,因為樓主介紹這款牛角包會令人一試難忘,更會齒頰留香,所以令我對這款牛角包充滿著幻想及期待但當我試了一口之後,覺得並不是想像中好味,由於每個牛角包只有0.5g的白松露,即是只有3-4片左右,所以白松露的味道並不是十分濃郁。加上其他配料如雞蛋、三文魚及用來烹煮的牛油,都是味道徧濃的食物,所以未能突出白松露本身的香味,反而將白松露味道遮蓋了。最敗筆是,這個白松露配三文魚炒蛋餡料完成時仍然是半液體狀,進食時,難免將餡料跌下,場面十分尷尬。總括而言,這個牛角包並不值得售賣$100。另外,還叫了一個龍蝦仔咖哩牛角包,這個價錢比較實惠,$38 ,餡料又多,的確是OL午飯的好選擇。味道方面都算是一個新配搭,沙津醬再加入少量咖哩粉調味,味道清新,又不會搶過龍仔的味道

見到咁多人話好食,就平日放假去買啦!超市麵包舖要整住一條排隊通道俾人排隊買牛角包真係好誇張還有專人排隊幫你入麵包.好彩平日下午5點幾去買係唔駛排隊買,不過俾錢時都要等等!上半部的是花生醬吐司($10)雖然塊吐司好厚,但想不到又係烘得非常鬆軟,又有點脆,花生的味道不會太多或太少,意想不到的美味!左下角是芝士小鍋($14)多個芝士小粒,配搭鍋形的麵包,感覺真的幾特別! 麵包的軟硬度剛剛好,不會太硬. 芝士味道就有點濃.右下角是杏仁牛角包($14)呢個係呢間店最出名的麵包.果然名不虛傳,非常鬆脆好味,不過好像多了少少油,未必可以連續食太多.

上半部的是花生醬吐司($10)
雖然塊吐司好厚,但想不到又係烘得非常鬆軟,又有點脆,花生的味道不會太多或太少,意想不到的美味!

左下角是芝士小鍋($14)
多個芝士小粒,配搭鍋形的麵包,感覺真的幾特別! 麵包的軟硬度剛剛好,不會太硬. 芝士味道就有點濃.

右下角是杏仁牛角包($14)
呢個係呢間店最出名的麵包.果然名不虛傳,非常鬆脆好味,不過好像多了少少油,未必可以連續食太多.
