In terms of location and weekend of the day, the waiting time to be seated was definitely quicker than anticipated.
Quick insight on the food for 4 people
1) Ordered the premium sashimi platter approx $520. The uni and salmon was passable but everything else on the platter is worth skipping as the slices of sashimi were too thick and prepared in bulk ahead of time which lost its taste and texture. Rating 2/5
2) Fried cod fish was good as they flavoring was adjusted proportionately and the fish was hot and fresh when served. Rating 3.5/5
3) California maki is double the standard and nothing too special about it. 2/5
4) Baked oysters was in the recommended signature dish so we placed one order of that and it turned out to be one of the best dishes we had. Oyster weren't the best in terms of quality but it was definitely fat, well flavored, and not over cooked. 3.5/5
5) Baked squid balls with cheese was favorable but personally I think there was too much dough than actual squid and sauce which made it a little dry. 2.5/5
6) Shrimp uni sushi maki was horrible as the quality of uni was different and stank compared to the platter ones. 0/5 Do not order!!!!
7) Three belly sushi, which consisted of 3 kinds of fish belly including tuna, salmon, and one other. Tuna was ok but everything else can be thrown into the trash as the salmon one tasted like rotten fish. 1/5
8) Beef kabob should be avoided as it was cold and dry when the dish was brought to our table. Not to mention not a droplet of sauce on it. 0/5
9) shrimp kabob should be avoided as well but slightly better than the beef. 1.5/5
10) Chicken wing kabob is dry as well like eating a jerky. Makes me wonder if all the kabob should be avoided. 1/5
Overall dinner experience 2/5 including decor, value for money, and quality. To be honest if it wasn't the price being so cheap in Peking road 1 tower of TST I would've given this place a zero and never coming back again. All in points went toward cheap dining for Japanese food at prime location. 4 people dinner including 720ml of sake ended up costing around $12,XXX was cheap. Final words good place to go for sushi/good location when your on a tight budget. Sushi quality no different than food court.
