I booked over phone an omakase meal for two. It was my wife's birthday, so we decided to eat something good. Service was really good. You have a staff to customer ratio of: 1 to 2 chef to customer, and like 2-4 waiters. Which meant the tea was always hot, and the plates were quickly changed. I dropped my napkin and they noticed before I did. It must have been empty because it was a weekday plus the red storm signal. We were absolutely soaked when we got there. For the food, I didn't kno
For the food, I didn't know to get the nigiri or the sashimi omakase, so I just said half and half. The total including tips was about 1300 a head. The food was terrific. I'm not sure if the fish quality is like the best I've ever had, but it was pretty good. I don't know why but there was multiple occurences of different 池魚. There were of course the standard uni, 牡丹蝦, toro, etc. I don't think I've ever had as many fish that has a crunchy texture before. My wife had several items that just made her smile cuz it tasted so good, so I think the meal was worth it. But afterwards I think we both agreed that the fish quality wasn't as good as it could have been. The beef tongue was well cooked and something to remember. The little ball of icecream at the end was pretty good too.
I'm docking one from the taste because the fish could have been better, one from the environment because the bathroom was kinda weird (this seems to be a hong kong thing).
I wish Japanese food cost less in Hong Kong. Everytime I go to Taiwan I feel like I ca get great sushi at a discount.
