This Middle Eastern neighborhood restaurant is located on St. Francis Street in Wanchai, and as it does not accept reservation, we came early in the evening to secure a table, being the second group of customers seated. But in just a short while all the tables were occupied, showing how popular the restaurant is. Simple in decor with a cozy setting, we had chosen the normal dining area with comfortable sofa and chairs, but customers can also opt for the row of seats facing the street, enjoying a semi-open ambiance setting, while another row of seats at the bar counter catering to an even more casual setting. Decided to order the 'Let Us Cook' menu ($360 each) for the restaurant to pick and decide for us, we were quickly served a number of meze, or appetizers. The Hummus is good, with the mashed chickpea creamy and tasty. But I found the Pita bread paired a bit too hard for my palate. The Burnt Eggplant is one of my favorites among the meze. With a nice fragrance from the grilled eggplant, mixed with pepper and chili, plus some yogurt, the dish got a great balance of acidity, savory and spicy. Highly recommend. The Cigars are two 'spring rolls' with spiced beef fillings, after deep-frying then sprinkled with plenty of cumin and other seasoning on top, paired with green tahini sauce. Quite nice. The Falafel is deep-fried patty balls made from fava beans mixed with different spices, with good seasoning and paired with tahini sauce. Decent in taste. Next came the other favorite for me on the night, Baked Halloumi. The baked cheese is served on hot cast-iron, with an abundance of wild oregano and pomegranate molasses on top. The oregano brought a fantastic fragrance while the sweet pomegranate actually blends perfectly with the brined cheese so overall a great harmony of taste. Highly recommend. Then came the Zucchini Salad, with thinly-sliced zucchini mixed with some grilled slices of pumpkin, added with feta cheese and sumac. Seasoned beautifully, the dish is a good way to cleanse the palate between different dishes. The Kibbeh Meatball is made from minced beef, added with burgul wheat, pine nuts, chopped mint and onions, before deep-frying and paired with a tahini sauce. The meatball is seasoned well and has a nice range of flavors. I like the pine nuts which gave a great fragrance to the whole dish, and the yogurt balances everything so it is not too rich or heavy. Very good indeed.The Lamb Ribs are marinated well, and cooked beautifully making the flesh easily detached from the bone. Plenty of coriander on top, at the bottom there is yogurt to accompany the dish to aim at reducing the fat from the lamb. My piece of lamb rib is good, but looks like my wife's portion has too much fat for her liking. By this time we were very full, but still more came our way. The next dish was Kafta, with the minced lamb and beef with some finely chopped parsley, onion and some other herbs, then grilled and added with some spring onion and tahini sauce on top. There is some chili too which provided a nice kick to the palate. Good in taste, but simply we were too full to truly enjoy it all.The Cauliflower was nicely grilled with some marinate, then added with tarragon and yogurt. Simple yet delicious. Coming to the end the dessert was Knafeh, made from a needle-like pastry and then soaked in syrup, with mozzarella as the fillings. On top there is a vanilla ice-cream topped with some orange blossom and pistachio. A nice finale for the meal.Service was good, and despite the restaurant was very busy the staff explained to us each of the dish when served, helping us to understand, important as we were unfamiliar to the Middle Eastern cuisine. The serving was very fast, as the restaurant wanted to be able to serve another round of customers, so limiting to 90 minutes of dining time. For us, that is absolutely no problem, but I can imagine for some it might be too short.The bill on the night was $860, and as the restaurant did not charge a service fee, it is up to the customer to decide how much to tip. Good value and good food, I also like this menu allows one to sample most of the signature dishes and also helps those who may not be too much idea what to order. 繼續閱讀

呢間Francis係食中東餐,之前一直bookmark左都未試,前排爆假請假就去試一試~去到果陣雖然已經一點幾,但都要排隊等位,最後等左15分鐘到。佢星期一至五有個3-courses 午餐,HKD160。前菜我揀左Avocado tomato za'atar, feta,佢係一個沙律,不過個dressing係好開胃。 好多人會揀鷹豆配炸蔬菜球,不過我熱氣都係食得清淡啲~主菜就揀左Beef Shawarma,個燒牛肉濃味,又香又脆,配埋底下個類似嘅pita bread,超好食😋甜品就果日就係一個類似yogurt 布丁,酸酸甜甜,可以清一清岩岩嘅濃味,非常好。 繼續閱讀

I am a lover for Mediterranean cuisine and also Middle East food and this is the only authentic Mediterranean/Middle East cuisine that I can find in HK! My friend told me there’s this restaurant at Admiralty so weeks ago and we decided to have brunch at Francis on Sunday😋 what I can say is this place didn’t disappoint me and it’s absolutely the best in town❤️So the brunch set saves me a lot of time in deciding what to eat and all the dishes were so delicious!There are several appetizer and I just loved all of them. Hummus and Pita bread are my all time favourite and the pita bread here was very fresh😋There’s also a salad and baked cheese. OMG that baked cheese...was amazing! The mint cigar was so special that brought my tastebuds to another level🤪By the time we finished the appetizer, we were almost 75% full and satisfied. Then here comes the main! I chose the pork skewers and the skewers had a perfect favour that I can’t use words to describe. I had to admit that I was very full after the main and there’s still dessert 😂😂😂alright...I didn’t have space for it but I tried to finish it...when I had the first bite, OMG I told myself I would love to finish the whole thing hahaha. The pomegranate basically made you feel a nice finishing to the meal. After all, this restaurant is highly recommended and I’d love to come back again soon!! 繼續閱讀

最近有很多cafe相繼開業 坦白說真的有點吃厭了all day breakfast和sourdough (有人有同感嗎?)🤭所以最近很需要嘗試不同類型的菜式 刺激一下味蕾真的大力推介這間以色列中東菜的餐廳給大家 我同朋友未食完已經有再訪的念頭!十分誇張😎.Francis只可以walk-in 另外亦沒有service charge 所有tips都會直接比服務員的不得不提佢地的服務質素真的超卓 每上一次菜都會抹枱同換碟 很貼心 絕對加分不少這裡的菜式和烹調方法既有特色又令人挺有驚喜 必定會encore!😋👍🏻.🔸Weekday Lunch Set $160🔸Lunch set內有Meze + Main + Sweet 我和朋友一人點了一個set 真的 這個價錢隨便一間cafe都要 但食物質素之高真係同cafe無法比呀🤯.1️⃣ MEZE🔺𝑯𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒔將鷹嘴豆整成豆蓉 質地十分creamy另外配有微溫軟熟的pita bread 用來蘸豆蓉吃一流Bean falafel外表煎得好香脆內裡軟 很有咬口 整體不錯!連平時不愛吃的我都KO了一個!.🔺𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔一上枱已經聞到香味 全部都是新鮮熱辣辣整起的入面係茄子整成的茄子蓉 超creamy超滑 有點似薯仔波波😝.2️⃣ MAIN🔺𝑫𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝑺𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 - 𝑳𝒂𝒎𝒃 𝑺𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝑺𝒌𝒆𝒘𝒆𝒓 (𝑨𝒅𝒅 $40)每天的Daily special都不一樣以及需要另加$40 但絕對值!個羊肉串會不會太好食了 肥瘦剛剛好 肉質燒得很軟焾同juicy💦個Seasoning昇華了成道菜 超香 巧妙地遮蓋了羊膻味 完全達到香而不膻鍾意食羊肉的一定會為之瘋狂 真的好想再食呀🥺另外羊肉串下面的飯粒粒分明 屬於有咬口的飯 仲吸收左羊肉的香味 正🤤.🔺𝑩𝒆𝒆𝒇 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒂片狀的牛肉 即平時kebab的那種肉食落味道相當不錯 內有洋蔥等配料 整體更有層次但略嫌牛的口感chewy左少少 如果焾啲會更好🙆🏻‍♀️.3️⃣ SWEET當日的甜品是𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎第一次嘗試這類型的甜品 十分新奇 配上橙味mousse同上面的脆脆 食落酸酸甜甜 很清新☺️ 繼續閱讀
