Approached reception but no welcome at all, completely ignored by apparently the owner. Informed her we have made reservations, she immediately pointed at the QR code motioning us to register due to the current covid-19 restrictions. Informed her I prefer just to write down my details and she gave me a paper with ALL other clients names and numbers which definitely violated all privacy practices. Informed her this is violating privacy but she just explained in an irritated tone that she ran out of forms.
Finally got seated and went to the washroom, you would think covid-19 would teach everyone to comply with BASIC toilet cleanliness but no.... toilet floor was completely wet... tissues on the floor everywhere...
We waited quite some time to get noticed which is ok since they were really busy, finally ordered and reconfirmed we got discount for booking with OpenRice. The lady initially said no discount today, only until I read her the T&C the manager came and reconfirmed the discount.
30mins later, still no where to be found, (ordered raw food for bbq) checked with a staff and he never replied until I asked another staff only to find out they never input our order. In hindsight, we should have just left right then and there but we persisted coz my mom really wanted to have Korean bbq and my 5 year old was starving. So we soldiered on and finally food arrived. After about 15 mins eating, I took the bowl of cold dish (some green veg with bean sprout) and cleared it to my own bowl, then I saw a little fat COCKROACH, the size of my pinky fingernail waving at me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Called for the staff and showed him the half dead Cockroach and he was very apologetic (the only competent staff) and then the manager came back and said she will remove 30% of the bill. Outrageous service recovery offer and she even tried to justify it by saying they cannot avoid this from happening as they have cleaned the kitchen but don’t know when the cockroach landed in the plate and that discount is what the owner offered...... thanks but NO WAY am I gonna pay for dinner where i have just fed my son cockroach infested veggie...... the only thing they did right after was to remove the entire bill.
Best is yet to come, before I left, I went to the reception wanting to inform the owner for what happened, she did not apologize, did not look at me at all, completely ignored me like I was transparent.
I have been to this restaurant before and experienced better service that’s why I went there again, there are so many Korean bbq places, I will never step foot in this one for sure.
