又時候想係手機寫食評都絕對唔易,要用Android手機開個desktop site再係4.2吋睇到眼檬兼難upload pic打文,比較起來另一飲食網站做得好好多!說回主題,聽過唔少人說中環店的服務極差,(我試過海港城店是ok的),找了個tea time 試試,招牌檸茶雖然幾甜,但將檸茶雪成冰粒既效果,也值得見識,朋友的炸雞翼炸到乾透,再好吃都是假。至於服務我覺得可以,但一影餐牌就招到「警告」,也不難怪大家有咁大反應。 環境是幾型的,可惜手機upload相就crash,算了。

After many attempts to book a table for dinner at Greyhound Cafe, we finally managed to get a 8pm slot. The reason we were so persistent in trying was that certain members of the family liked the one in Bangkok. I remember that the first visit was pretty good but the second time was actually quite terrible (mom said "horrible food"....)Anyhow, here we were at a much sought after table. 10 minutes into seating us, we were still sharing 1 menu amongst 6 people, not a great start. Anyhow, here we were at a much sought after table. 10 minutes into seating us, we were still sharing 1 menu amongst 6 people, not a great start. Upon reading the menu, I was reminded of why I had reservations about the restaurant, that it was trying too hard to be fusion and yet fusing cuisines in a superficial way, never a good approach.

Here are some of the dishes we ordered and what I thought:

Crab cakes with sweet corn: Decent chunks of crab meat with whole kernels of (canned) sweet corn, but neither the crab meat nor the sweet corn had a fresh taste, oh well.

Deep-fried chicken wings: yes, they were hot, yes, they were crispy... so Is that the standard by which we judge chicken wings now My neighbourhood fast food joint does chicken wings hot and crispy too, and at least they don't taste like they were re-fried....

Satay with glutinous rice: ok, again, the meat didn't taste very fresh.

Beef steak with glutinous rice: Not bad. The meat was tender and flavourful. The side salad was refreshing.

Spaghetti with anchovy and green peppercorns: I know I'm weird, the dish most scorned by others was my favourite. I like the taste of anchovy with tomato sauce... I love biting into each green peppercorn even though that set my mouth on fire... Each ingredient was pungent and strong in its own right but they belonged together... I know I'm weird... and I know I said that already....

We did order other food but without the pictures I can't remember what they were and clearly they were not memorable at all.

To sum it up: mediocre food at IFC price. And that is why I still don't get why it's so popular.

冬陰公湯酸辣度適中,有大大隻蝦、蘑菇、雲吞等材料,雲吞有四隻,味道不錯,而且夠暖胃,讚。

鮮蝦帶子墨魚汁麵 $138
鮮蝦帶子OK,墨魚汁麵有辣味,但跟三文魚的泰式辣汁相比就不算什麼了,不好吃是墨魚汁麵本身的問題,不但沒有煙韌彈牙的感覺,而且還黐牙。

This restaurant is better in theory than in reality. The menu looks interesting, but fails to deliver. As an example, The Spicy Muay Thai Burger was a thoroughly ordinary burger with lots of gristle and little character; only the dipping sauce on the side had any flavor and saved this dish from total disappointment. The portions were very small, requiring a supplemental, post-lunch top up across the way at simplylife.Service was also lacking, with the burger coming out raw (ordered medium).

After a day at the movies with my mates, we were all up for a meal at Greyhound knowing that it is a very famous fashion-café from Bangkok The restaurant was full house. Love the juicy Greyhound famous chicken wings with hint of my favorite Thai fish sauce! Each wing is cut into half to make it easier to eat. The perfect match of chicken wings of course was the Lemon Iced Tea which I’ve never tried this fantastic taste from any other restaurants in Hong Kong . The taste was completely different from normal Lemon Iced Tea. It served with the Lime and the ices were made up by tea and so the taste wouldn’t be diluted even the ices were melted.

The portion of the food was just fit us – enough and not too full!

Spaghetti cha cha cha - 一連串頗為味美的頭盤,令大家對主菜更加期待,但結果確實令人失望。Spaghetti cha cha cha 其實是炒墨魚汁海鮮意粉,配上顏色七彩繽紛的雜椒,外表吸引,可惜味道只可以用一個辣字形容。

雜菌豬肉湯河 - 味道跟其他菜式對比實在太大,這款湯河清淡得連些微的香料都欠奉。

總結
頭盤不錯但其他太多不對板的地方,譬如主菜味道奇差,份量出奇地小(除了鵝肝醬一款例外), 但最不可思議的是價格。泰國菜之所以深受港人歡迎,全因它價廉物美,一班朋友可以開懷地分享美食。但此行我們四人共消費八百多元, 相信同等價錢的午餐可有更多更佳的選擇。

鮮椒豬柳炒上海粉皮是個比較少見的組合。上海粉皮原來熱食味道也不錯,加上細滑的豬柳更好吃;鮮椒有「點睛」作用,但始終粉皮多油,炒粉皮時又要落油,一個人來吃飯時點這麵可能是太油膩了,要有幾個人分享才好。

而我就 encore 上一次點過的 Noodle in Pork Stew。Pork Stew 其實沒有什麼肉味,只餘下香葉的味道,說滋味就是上面的炒粉皮的豬柳醃得更好吃,但我欣賞它將蝦乾全都加到河粉裡,樣子有點像蝦米腸粉,但更精緻及幼滑,薄如真正的「陳村粉」。

再來一杯 Greyhound Style 的冰檸茶(HK$38)。此冰檸茶第一特色是用上青檸,第二特色是冰塊用檸茶製作,就不會愈喝愈啖。初初幾口會覺得味道有點像雀巢檸檬茶,喝著喝著,就會知道層次較多,不是用「雀檸」的喇。順帶一提,這裡沒有白開水供應,飯後我需要吃藥,就要點一支礦泉水。

上次一個人來吃個麵加一杯飲品,埋單大約 HK$160;今次與幾個朋友一起,埋單約 HK$700,即是人均消費大約HK$160-200;以泰國菜來說稍為昂貴,但有時不想在 IFC 只能「麵包當飯吃」時,只好再一次走入 Greyhound Cafe 囉。

Upon knowing they have confirmed to open a branch in HK, I've been looking forward and thought it can be my "cafe" at IFC. Upon knowing they have confirmed to open a branch in HK, I've been looking forward and thought it can be my "cafe" at IFC. Got an easy morning to have a relaxing late breakfast, passed by and saw they have all-day breakfast, decided to try my first meal there.

Waitress was not so proactive in serving, there were some customers there, only 1/6 full and she asked me to squeeze in one seat between others, while there are plenty of more spacious seating. I just choose another table by the window.

2 sets of all-day breakfast, I ordered the one with pouched egg, ham & cheese sandwich with salad, coffee and orange juice. Talking about juice, there was no information about what juices they have on the menu of all-day breakfast, and when I ask the waitress, she didn't respond directly and just show me the drink list, this is definitely not pleasant.

Briefly look at the menu, quite different from what the Bangkok original branch offers.

Anyway, environment is not bad, great sunny day out there, sitting by the windows, quiet.

Luckily, I was having an easy morning, or I had to give up the breakfast....why? After waiting for 15 minutes, my coffee and orange juice were ready....another 25 minutes, finally, my breakfast was being served. I ordered my breakfast at 10:15, and I got things ready at almost 11am...unless you having no appointment, not very hungry, if not, really not recommended. The pace is even more "relax" than Bangkok.

Food quality is not really satisfied, poached egg is not as presentable as I thought, mixed with green salad in vinegar, personally, I prefer they seperate them; French fries on side, rather dry and not hot...the ham & cheese sandwich, acceptable (if this simple thing was not pass, I'd have cried).
Also, this whole thing, I can't understand why they took such a long time to prepare, and when it was served, egg and fries were not hot.

Coffee, again, why using cold milk, very cold, for hot coffee. I think it is common sense for restaurants, too bad. Orange jiuce, why they are so mean to use a small glass and fill up only half? Giving a few more drops won't be too costly.


$138 is relaly not worth for this quality.

Service was terrible, maybe I use the Bangkok branch as benchmark, but this is absolutely fair enough, it is way far too below the standard. Waitress look so unpleasant to serve, look sleepy although it's morning shift. When the 2 tourists sitting next to me (they arrived earlier than me, they have been waiting for over 45 minutes for the food) asking the manager their breakfast in a very gentle tone, she said "OK! many people are waiting!", that's Rude; as I saw, one big table (kind of group breakfast) had finished, there were another guy sitting next to me waiting, another table of 3, arrived later than me, so...where were that "many people"? Even there were really many people waiting, kitchen was too busy, as a service provider, they should not use such tone to respond.

Serving coffee without giving me sugar...I had to "steal" the sugar from another table when they finished. When I left, passed by the receptionist and said bye bye, no respond...OMG!

2. Pad Thai -- Taste good. A bit soggy. There were 4 shrimps and they were fresh and crunchy. The portion was too small. There's only approx. one rice-bowl-size amount of noodles. Definitely can't feed a regular adult-size person. Cant' understand why they give so little noodles as noodles are very cheap... You have to count on ordering one more item if you want to feel fulfilling.

3. Fried Chicken Wings (supposed to be the signature dish)
-- looked, tasted, and felt (texture) like overnight leftovers and were reheated in the oven. Pretty dry and hard.

4. Thai Ice Tea
-- okay. Like any other Ice Tea from any Thai restaurant.

Ambience was nice.

Service was poor. Servers (3 to 4 of them) kept forgeting/ ignoring what we requested (bowl, water...) that the only one who would remember and follow up is the manager.

人氣招牌菜,曾被阿蘇在電視節目讚不絕口的。製法是將雞翼切半用魚露醃,再跟斑蘭葉一起炸成上碟。個人認為味道好,心思更出色;例如單骨方便食進食,與斑蘭葉同炸可把香氣度更提升。

細細隻很香脆,一隻又一隻地放入口,餸酒一流,結果 encore 了兩碟才擺休。每碟約有十條單骨雞翼賣 $68,個人則認為有點 over-priced。

點這個前是完全沒有任何期望,結果是非常不錯吃!蟹肉是一絲絲的混上粟米粒炸,絕不欺場;夠熱夠脆之餘甜酸汁亦很醒胃。

冬蔭公湯的酸辣度很溫和,若再濃一點效果會更理想。湯中有三大隻雲吞,是類似上海雲吞那種,雲吞皮頗滑,算是 fusion 菜啦。

英文名叫「Spaghetti Cha Cha Cha」,由來不得而知喇,侍應只透露這碟意粉是由泰式炒金邊粉演變而成。墨魚汁製成的意粉來配上海鮮與葡萄串青胡串去炒,味道出奇地夾。

亮點絕對是那水波蛋,半生熟如溏心,magic 就發生在「破處」的一刻;蛋白嫩滑,與蛋黃融為一體,光是看就已很爽。三文治的包是用鑊煎而不是用多士爐烘,味道多了一份香口。

總結,「Greyhound Cafe」整體食物水準佳,創意味道俱備;但要彈的是部份店員服務麻麻,對答有點兒「串」,似乎對如何招呼客人方面還要改善改善。另外,食物的份量也頗細,隨便每碟粉麵都要過百元,似乎這就是名牌的代價 ?! 整頓五人晚餐,沒有開酒,埋單 $1,530。

我認為價錢雖不算得上很貴, 但這個價錢, 這個質素是不合理.

另外想提一提我們的檸檬茶事件.
在友人的檸檬茶中驚現指甲!!
跟經理接洽後, 基於他們欠缺經驗, 沒有甚麼可以幫得上忙除了扣除我們那杯檸檬茶的費用.
只是說對不起及給我們更換熱水 (有問題的是檸檬茶, 並不是熱水)
這絕對不能令我有推動力再光顧這間餐廳.

I rarely go to a restaurant and feel like I've been conned. This is how it feels after visiting here....

Good location, good decor, nice sounding menu. This is on face value.....

The reality is, average to poor service and mediocre food which is overrated and overpriced.

All potions are fairly small or if they are larger they are stuffed full of iceberg lettuce in every place possible to make it look more "filling"

Drinks served not full and not allowed to order without ice.

Burger was even more shocking with a bun which is almost twice the size of the actual meat. with nothing inside except the meat and a slice of processed cheese.

Not recommended at all and expected MUCH MUCH more in terms of quality of food, service and portion size for the price. Every other restaurant in IFC tops this place by far.

I heard many great things about this restaurant, so me and a couple of friends decided to give it a try. We got there at about 7:30-8pm, and managed to get a seat in 15 mins w/out booking.Overall the food is great, but the service was horrible. There's too many people and seemed like they were under-staffed. Some of the waiters are so busy running around, they didn't mean to be rude but they'd take your order and run off, seemed like they can't stay 1 more second which gave us pressure to hurry

Some of the waiters just seemed lost, they were bringing other people's orders to our table, and bringing other tables our orders. We ordered 1 Tom Yum Kung soup and it came around 3 times, and asked us later if we ordered 3 when we only ordered 1.

We ordered:
1. Iced Lemon Tea - very good, must order

2. Thai Iced Tea - it's so-so, I find it rather watery, can't compare to ones in Thailand
3. Greyhound Famous Fried Chicken Wings - very tasty

4. Vietnamese Spring rolls - it's OK, not very special
5. Tom Yum Kong soup - it came warm instead of hot, so it can be better. Shrimp seemed a bit not fresh as it was soft and powdery even
6. Salmon Sashimi in Spicy Hot Sauce - VERY GOOD, a bit sour and spicy, very appetizing, my favorite dish

7. Fried River Prawn with Rice - very tasty, loved the garlic on rice and shrimp


I'd still recommend this place, just don't expect much service, and pick your waiters wisely when you place your orders!

Homemade Pate‚ with Cognac and Fresh Green Peppercorns 。自家製鵝肝醬配多士,鵝肝醬裡面混合了白蘭地酒和青胡椒。鵝肝味其實不重,反而很creamy很重牛油味,很好吃,大家的評價都很高。

Yum Japanese Seaweed with Glass Noodle 。這個沙律有驚喜,非常有泰式的風味,帶少許辣,很開胃。沙律用上日本的海藻,其實就是平常吃到的中華沙律,再加上玻璃粉。玻璃粉是完全透明的,粗度像瀨粉,不過比較滑溜。配料有蝦、碎豬肉、乾蔥和西芹,沒想到中華沙律和泰式汁是如此夾的,是相當成功的一道fusion菜。

Spaghetti Cha Cha Cha。其實這碟意粉的靈感是來自泰國的pad thai ,店方想將意大利菜和泰國菜配合,所以就算用墨魚汁製成的意大利粉來代替河粉,配以虎蝦和帶子, 再加上意大利香草、青胡椒和辣椒去炒。青胡椒其實是胡椒果實未成熟時的樣子,它就好像葡萄串,很漂亮。新鮮的青胡椒香味較清,也不太辣,但由於質感較硬,所以通常都是作點綴用途。我試過咬,硬硬的又帶少許辣。這個fusion意粉配搭還不錯,帶少許辣所以挺開胃,虎蝦和帶子都很新鮮爽口。

Noodle in Tom Yum Koong 。冬陰公湯河粉,有兩隻大大的河蝦,我沒吃所以不知質素如何。河粉明顯不夠滑,也不算很有米香。冬陰公湯本身還不錯,辣度和酸度都剛剛好,不過我覺得少了點椰香,否則會更好喝。

Fried Tiger Prawns with Garlic and Rice 。蒜蓉虎蝦蝦膏炒飯,用蒜蓉炒過的虎蝦,爽口彈牙,仍能保留蝦的鮮味。下面的炒飯色澤均勻,帶蝦膏的鹹香,又加了少許辣椒去炒,很惹味。旁邊有一碗清湯,裡面放了大大塊的鹹酸菜和肉丸,咬了一小口鹹菜,很鹹,不過湯很清。

Choc Banana with Fresh Cream。出來的樣子和餐牌有點出入,因為餐牌裡的香蕉蓉是跟上下兩層的朱古力海棉蛋糕一樣高的,結果現在薄薄的幾乎看不到。香蕉和朱古力是最佳拍擋,在我心裡他們是最合襯的 (肯定不是朱古力和橙,我最討厭!!) 朱古力蛋糕的朱古力味很濃郁,不過不夠鬆軟;另外就是香蕉蓉實在不夠,可以再多一點點,味道會較平均。

Mango with Sticky Rice 。這個芒果糯米飯是一個友人推介一定要吃的,味道確實不錯,跟在泰國吃到的差不多,芒果夠甜,飯夠軟糯,上面淋上來自泰國的椰汁,又怎麼會不好吃。

Tub Tim Krob Greyhound Style。一上場的時候大家都有點擔心,因為看到有些顏色相當怪異的東西,鮮紅色的有如藥水一樣的粒粒,不過吃過一口之後大家都嘩嘩聲,因為出乎意料的好吃。紅色一粒粒的其實是馬蹄肉,不過應該是加了許色素吧,而下面墊底的是用椰青汁製成的冰,上面再加上切成條狀的椰肉和椰汁,沒想到味道如此清新,就有如一股清泉,洗刷掉剛才辛辣的味道。

Iced Lemon Tea (Greyhound Style) 。餐牌上有兩款檸檬茶的,而這個才是人人稱讚的那款。上檯的時候店員會用另一個杯把凍檸檬茶倒進一個放滿冰塊的杯裡,杯裡面的冰塊全部都是以檸檬茶特製的,所以就算溶掉了也不會變淡,其茶味能一直維持。另外店方以青檸代替檸檬,味道比較特別,多了一份清香又少了一份苦澀,實在是好喝。

大概是新開張的關係,又或者某部份店員是初哥,對於如何招呼客人方面好像還需要多加改進,特別是對不斷要收掉我們檯上的碟子這方面有點不滿意。

另外無可避免的是這店開在IFC,價錢一定不會便宜,不能如泰國又平又抵吃。一個意粉就差不多要一百元,而且食物份量又少,我一個人清一碟也未必夠飽,現在每人要將近二百,但沒有人覺得飽。真心覺得食物是好吃的,菜式又夠創新,不過從又平又好吃變成好吃但很貴,就減低了想再去的欲望,如果想要吃正宗的泰國菜我會選擇九龍城,而這家我想還是留待在曼谷吃吧。

It was sucha fashion brand with simple design and usually use the shades of white, blacka nd grey. It is sophisticated whoeres as their younger line, Playhound is bit more playful and causal They have been expanding their brand rapidly in the last few years. Due to their success they have opened their own restaurant and cafe in bangkok which has been a huge success. It is trendy and good place to have a tea, good fusion food and a place to chill out with friends.

when i go to bangkok, it is a must place to visit everytime. it is a place to be seen.

Taste: Spaghetti Carbonara - This was rather small portion. But tasted better than I have expected. The pasta was creamy with lots of sauces unlike some places, their carbonara is dry and you can taste the parmesan in it. The Spahetti seems bit thinner than other spaghetti I have had somehow, but it was chewy and nice made. The pasta was definately al-dente, with bacon bits and mushrooms. one thing i wanted point out is, some bacons bits are crispy and some were not. some were big and chunky with lots offat. I must saw they probably gave you one mushroom button for the pasta which was thinnly sliced. To share between two people was not enough. For that price, could have gave a bigger portion and come with some salad or a piece of garlic bread.

Pad Thai with mushroom - I wasnt sure if i wanted to order this pasta as I did not see many people around me ordering oriental type of food. Most people ordered pasta or satay chicken or other meat. There is another pad thai with prawn, but as i do not eat prawn, we opted for mushroom, as the waiter said they cannot change it to chicken. Which i was not too pleased. the portion of the pad thai was even so small, it probably was onli 1/6 of a plate. i finished it within 4 spoonful. The taste was definately not as good as what you get in a thai restaurant. there was only tofu and mushroom. Not my kinda thai food, despite this is a thai restaurant with bit of a twist.

Open Sandwich (Forgot the name) - This was the on the sandwich and burger section. it caught my attention, as it said everything of a sandwich thrown into a bowl. sounds quite good as there will be bread, lettuce and tuna. Obviously when it came on the table, it did not look like the picture that was displayed nor sounded like it was on the menu. Although the appearance was not 5 star, and seemed like any normal salad from a average western restaurant in Hong Kong. The taste was just abit above average. The bread was thick and moist which i like. There are lots of dressing which was caeser dressing. i liked the taste with tuna and lettuce. was not as bad as it looked but i wouldnt say it is a sandwich. it seems more like a slad to me. It reminds me of the salad you get at pizza Express where they serve you with a bread dough.

What i liked: There are almost a picture of each item on the menu, so you can see what it looks like even if you do not know what it is.
-There are chinese translation on the bottom of the english.

What i disliked: The management was appauling and I can write a book about it.. so here it goes-

- Firstly the water has no idea when i ordered in English, so why hire someone who do not know english when the whole menu is in english with small print of chinese
- we had chicken wings delivered to our table twice, when we have already said we did NOT order it. I then saw the waitress stressing it out to the manager, then the manager had speak to another manager. they were all bit lost.
-Same waiter came back to us after the chicken wing incident and asked " Has all the food you ordered arrived? what are you missing" when obviously only one plate has come and he has forgotten what we have ordered. i told him ONCE AGAIN pad thai and the open sandwich in a bowl. Then after 3 mins he came back with a menu and asked me apart from Pad thai what am i missing. was quite annoying. How can you keep forgetting my order.
- My pad thai finally came, and it was pad thai with just tofu. On the menu it says 'Pad thai WITH MUSHROOM' No sign of mushroom though. we got the manager over and i said there is no mushroom there.

Surely a amanager's service should be much better but NO, he looked, dropped the palte back on table and walked off to speak to the waiter. should he not apologize first or say he will go check out why? Then the waiter came back and apologize and the manager came back with smile. How absurd can this be. just walk off? and how on earth did the chef forget the mushroom??????
-As food blogger I like to take pictures of the restaurant I am dining at. i was trying take picture of the menu cover, then a waitress with short hair ran over and said i cannot take pictures of the menu. I said 'fine' and switched off my Canon and placed it on the seat. then she kept repeating I cannot take a picture. so i said, 'you have already made your point so no need to repeat'
Then astonishingly, she repeated again, and she added, that she will speak to someone with authority and get them to stand here til i stop it. So i said to her, ' did you not see me put away my camera so why you keep repeating?' Then she said it again. So I said 'IM NOT GOING TO TAKE ANY PICTURE OF YOUR MENU'

so then with abit of an attitude she said she will take my order, i said our order has been taken. she then said 'I will take away your menu" I said no, because iwould like to order something more. And she walked away staring at me. I dont undertsand the attitude and I putted away my camera first time she said. But she was literally lecturing me and telling me she will get someone to watch over my shoulder. Nice service!
-Then same waitress came over when i was taking picture of teh food and said 'you can take photos of the food ofc, (giggle)' I really dont think that was needed.
-as we were sharing, we had the food in middle and own plates. The carbonara came first and surely the sauces was left behind on the plate. Where i would later put my pad thai on, so i had wierd taste on my plate. i think they could do better by changing yoyr plate once so often like all places do.

-they do not serve you any water when you sit down, but you can ask for it. warm or cold. but they should be more considerate.
-As Greyhound is really BIG in bangkok, first branch opening here in Hong Kong is a big thing. we booked a few days before. And when we arrived late they were alreday ringing us up. Busy but overated
-There was way too much going on in the menu. the pictures of food was always on another page from the description. then there was other graphics on a odd page and some other stuff. so they whole menu seems like a book, the menu was definately not user friendly. takes you ages to see what they have to offer and choose.

Conclusion: I prefer the GreyHound in bangkok a million times more. You can chill and relax there, even meet up with your girlie and chat for whole night. In Hong Kong, this is like any other restaurant. Noisy, cramped, bad management, overated food and overpriced. i hate seeing Greyhound like this but it is the truth. it doesnt live up to its name and spoilt the brand. I saw about 4 managers with suits on and lots ofw aiters but they were all a mess. Not efficient and half the time running around not managing anything
One more thing i saw a waiter running out with food in his hand a few times, does he not know that is dangerous?
More management, crap food and crap atmosphere. i rather buy a plane ticket and visit a more worthy Greyhound
