Learning that Epure has been newly awarded with Michelin 1 star.It's time for my friends & I to come for a visit to try out whilst fine-dine would always allow us an opportunity to catch up in a quiet environment with some deep talk The restaurant environment is nicely decorated.The seating are comfortable enough for a long dining experience here. The restaurant environment is nicely decorated.
The seating are comfortable enough for a long dining experience here.

Tonight, I have chosen the
4 courses set dinner menu which seems to be more valuable at a price of $1,088 +10% instead of A la Carte as signature dishes are included within the selection.

Overall, I would say the dining experience was just alright and nothing extraordinarily which I might not return.

2) Appetiser: Epure's white button mushroom soup was known to be famous.


However, I thought it was just ordinary & that other restaurants had been able to charm me with their soup with more layer of tastes.

3) for Main Course: the Flaky Butter Puff Ring, Langoustine & Fish was just alright but worth to praise the creativity of this course's presentation


An suggestion would be the sauce could have been richer enough to bring the taste to a more

上年同友人在這裡食生日lunch,食物同環境都唔錯,所以今年照辦煮碗再黎呢度重溫一下,明明book位時強調book了Fine Dining Area同朋友慶祝生日,去到竟然同我地講book了食甜品cafe的那邊,佢同我地講fine dining 果邊已經full左,只好安排露天花園果邊比我地,由於露天呢邊係走Causal Dining路線,食物也相對水準下降, 我地每人各點了4個course的餐,$438 一位,最後食左$17xx 。食物方面,無論賣相定味道都同Fine Dining果邊差好遠,牛扒叫左medium rare出到黎係well done, 係一d紅色都無!個龍蝦意粉賣相仲差過茶餐廳,味道也不見得好。唯一可取既係甜品,橙味crepe同creme brûlée 都好食。甜品黎到既時候,因為book位搞錯左既關係,我地以為連甜品寫名都miss埋,當我開口問經理之際,待應將有蠟燭的macaron甜品遞上比我地,個經理竟然黑面,連我朋友都睇到,可能覺得我地麻煩?但我地覺得呢間餐廳都算高級,服務竟然差成咁?個甜品亦都串錯左我朋友名,明明逐隻字串過比接聽果位服務員聽...最後叫埋單,個

前身Spasso曾經我和好朋友的飯堂,所以趁著同好朋友慶祝生日就借機黎Epure食Brunch. 叫左4 course brunch, 我點左smoked salmon, chill lobster, stuffed pasta再加甜品。同waiter講甜品上左main course先決定,避免朋友食完個butter puff ring 已經滯唔想再點佢地signiture mille feuille。但是上Appetizer前 waiter 已經提左3次請我地點甜品。同友人互打下眼色,就笑話咁就要你推薦個個。Book台時提過請準備birthday note係甜品到,而concierge都double confirm一次唔駛到達再re-confirm 佢地,可惜最後個birthday note都冇出現,幸好友人一向唔在乎小禮節,如果同男/女朋友黎就要小心=)食物水凖一貫michelin star一星標準但坦白講若要與其他michelin star 餐廳平分秋色,服務水準要加把勁。

I quite like this restaurant and lunched with my friends/ husband here quite often and it's sad to see they increased prices by 25% on 1/1/2017 but quality of food, in terms of ingredient used, presentation, is substantially lowered. I managed to find picture I took last year and have a stark comparison of what we have today.Bread: it used to serve a basket with 3-4 varieties of warm bread but today only 2 varieties wrapped in napkin which is cold when served, the bread is absolutely ordinary li

I managed to find picture I took last year and have a stark comparison of what we have today.

Bread: it used to serve a basket with 3-4 varieties of warm bread but today only 2 varieties wrapped in napkin which is cold when served, the bread is absolutely ordinary like those u have for a $100 set lunch anywhere in hk;

Starter: three oysters now replaced by 2 pieces of cut lame scallops...

Main course: another drastic difference, the cooking method is more or less as last year, but the one with lobster has fewer lobster pieces, the fish and squid stuffing gone missing, instead comes with more boiled potatoes 😑😑😑; my main course is waygu beef the texture is much harder than the French beef they used to serve and cut in slices with better color complement by the side dish, the foie gras that paired with the waygu beef has a strong smell.

Dessert: two pieces of sliced cheese and some sorbet.....which all look so lame for this price point when we used to have valrhona chocolate ice cream...I notice one of the crackers they used to decorate the dessert is the exact same crackers on our main course.....

Petite four: they used to serve it on a golden rack now just 3 pieces on a dish.....

We were told they have another lunch menu for $798 which they claim using entirely French ingredients....and guest were seated in the more inside dining area...I don't know if that $798 is the exact of what we used to pay $398 for...and they used don't have this seating arrangement according to the type of lunch menu you choose (becuz they used to have one only)....

Anyway not going back for rip off prices when hk has more to offer

有時來海港城也會與朋友走到這個戶外平台看看風景吹吹風,必經過ÉPURE的戶外用餐地方,想著在這裡歎杯茶偷閒必定是賞心樂事吧~終於有機會來食Tea!雖然今次坐在室內,但餐廳裝潢有著皇室氣派,又有不一樣的感覺,連afternoon tea的架都很特別,縱橫交錯的茶點在金色的層架上份外尊貴。架上的都是法式傳統的小點心,有croque-monsieur、le thon、le foie gras等,甜則有opera truffle、choux mont blanc、fig roll等很有水準呢!這裡有名的是甜品,但比較喜歡鹹食的我第一時間進攻鹹點,最喜歡的是petit pain au homard(龍蝦黑松露三文治),小小三文治中龍蝦份量不少,入口啖啖龍蝦肉,淡淡松露味相伴,暫時忘卻儀態大啖咬吧!

Escargot配garlic butter有點「溜」,用麵包襯底比較dry,自己鍾意配薯蓉多啲。

Main選擇咗美國beef striploin, medium rare.燒得好香,表面脆而內面軟,入面可以見到嫰紅色4成熟剛剛好。好juciy同夠重牛肉香味。

雖然食完俾人鬧話我咁浪費金錢,不過真係覺得值得,只係service有DD跟唔上時代!話曬高級嘢嘛,樣樣要問先俾!D嘢嚟咗係冇同你講個架上面邊個打邊個!其實你sell service嘅話,同人講吓個架有D咩食物都好嘛!我欣賞Mandarin同Hotel Icon 係呢D service做到足,佢哋会問你要唔要介绍個架D食物!嘢食呢,的確有水準!$398+10 per head 嘅afternoon tea set 好多地方都有,不過可以令人食到要打包就真係呢度先有!真心好食,不過service有改善空間!

美酒配佳餚是不二之說,可是連餐前小吃及麵包也做得如此精美,真是令人陶醉。麵包質感鬆軟,塗上特製的四川風香草牛油,別有一番滋味。同樣地,小吃中的Cheese Puff 及Truffle Potato Tart也叫人讚賞。

經侍者的推介,大家都選擇了Chilled maine lobster。龍蝦肉既滑且嫩,是煮得恰到好處的質感,大廚大膽地以三種作法來調味,先是最基本簡單的慢煮,口感清爽鮮甜;接著是將無花果與龍蝦肉切成細粒拌勻,味道清新帶酸甜;最後就是以龍蝦膏做成圓片,夾著龍蝦肉一同吃,令味道更為精進,甘香濃郁。同時間,味道之間可以吃上一小川由無花果弄成的啫喱來消除上一道的味道,非常細心。

小弟的另一個頭盤選了喜愛的House smoked Isigny salmon,形式上活像一幅圖案,細看之下縕含了無數的味道,由自家燻製的三文魚、蛋餅、忌廉芝士、檸檬伏特加啫喱及魚子醬拼成,拌在一起吃,有一種活蹦蹦,跳脫的鮮味。

友人選擇了Slow cooked organic farm egg,有時真的驚嘆大廚的手藝及創意,就令簡單平凡的Egg Benedict變成了大家的焦點。將烤過圓形多士片放在半熟流心的法國雞蛋上,配合打成泡沫的自家製荷蘭汁及風乾火腿,層次及味道也相當突出。

主菜中已經有一道寫著must have的The must-have ‘vol au vent’,成了焦點所在。‘vol au vent’是一個製作精美的酥皮盒,內裡盛著魷魚、煎鱸魚及菠菜,此時,侍者慢慢將香濃的海鮮濃湯注入,香味沒法擋。可知香酥的酥皮吸入濃湯後,味道香口,有著海鮮的鮮味,果然是名乎其實的必吃招牌菜。

小弟的主菜當然離不開肉類,blonde d’aquitaine beef steak的吸引力極大,我又怎會不選呢。牛扒外層烤得微微焦香,肉質香軟腍滑,配上香濃的黑椒肉汁也不會蓋過濃郁的肉香,火喉控制得相當好,旁邊的配菜也叫人驚喜,令人留下深刻印象。

來丁甜品時間了,點上了二人份的Tableside caramelized mille-feuille。當侍者推著餐車出來時,已從遠處聞到香噴噴的香氣,是一種如果仁般的焦香味道。甜品份量相當大,侍者會先將之分為兩份,同時也聆聽到酥皮裂開的聲音,極為香脆,再在上面放有檸檬香的忌廉及糖煮士多啤梨才呈上。一刀切下,非常香脆鬆化,甜美帶焦香,正好以滲有檸檬味的忌廉來中和一下。同時,再吃下一口凍冰冰的紅莓雪糕及甜美的士多啤梨,回味無窮。

I made a fuss of what to wear and what to carry to go to gym afterwards. The location is awesome at the side of the doorway to the panoramic sea view terrace.

The restaurant just opens for brunch at noon when we arrived. Only around three tables were filled. We were led to the function room leading to the terrace flooded with a resplendent brass tone and with three widely placed tables. The ceiling was low with modern lighting.

We both ordered a glass of champagne to celebrate the good mood, and ended up making the same appetizer and main course choices. For dessert, the tableside caramelized mille-feuille certainly caught our eyes.

The waiters and sommelier took great care in their service, explained every item with patience and went the extra mile to give us surprises. We started off the brunch with a cheerful clink of our champagne glasses. The slightly dry sweetness of the champagne was comforting. Amuse-bouche of the day is cheese puffs and Sichuan chili adorned potato tartlets that also tasted like cheese. Generous homemade bread included milk brioche, cheese crisp and little baguette that tasted normal. The special thing was the butter infused with chili, which was quite mild actually.

Appetizer: Chilled Maine lobster, Sollies fig, pika gorri vinegar

I enjoyed the slight briny taste of the lobster. The fig was slightly roasted for extra juiciness. A leaf made of vinegar and a nugget made of cream of lobster added further chemistry to the ingredients and enhanced the delicate presentation.

Surprise 1: Paris Mushroom Soup

The waiter suddenly appeared to present us a complimentary mushroom soup. We were given a soup plate with baby spinach and mushroom pieces. Then the waiter poured the creamy mushroom soup into the plate. Read from other reviews that since the white mushroom was from France and the residue from blending the soup was removed so much more ingredient was needed. It is a method quite exclusive for fine dining. We appreciated both the richness and freshness of the soup.

I couldn’t resist ordering this signature menu item. Looking back it would be better to order something else which is not creamy for more variety. The portion looked much bigger than expected. The in-season seafood included hake fish and scallop which was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, we started to be overwhelmed by the creamy lobster sauce which was a bit too salty and the buttery pastry. The vegetable didn’t help much either and we were taken aback when the waiter offered to give us extra lobster sauce to finish off the pastry.

After ordering coffee, a trolley came to us with a colossal mille-feuille. To be honest, at this point we could not appreciate any more pastry, but devoured all the strawberries. That hollow mille-feuille hill seemed like a mountain to climb. The crispy and buttery flavor was good, but even the Chantilly is too much for us. Again it would be better to order two different desserts.

Surprise 2: Signature Scone

Coffee and strawberry sorbets were served to finish off the meal. The brunch time was from noon to 3pm. We chatted on and on and didn’t notice the time. It was well after 4pm when the waiter offered us a free signature scone for trial. Scone with clotted cream and jam is actually my favourite afternoon tea item, but my taste buds had gone numb after all the buttery treats.

The waiter took initiative to help us take photos and made sure that we were full enough. Sometimes we were too occupied with talking about our whereabouts to remember the waiters’ words. Finally, we were politely informed by the waiter that their function room had to be handed over to a 5pm booking, and generously offered to let us continue to sit in the outdoor garden terrace. We declined and ended this brunch that was served like pampering. It was an experience worth trying.
题外话/补充资料: It would be wiser to order different items among yourselves.

另一頭盤是Slow cooked organic farm egg。吃brunch又怎能少得了雞蛋,這個有點像Benedict egg的變奏版,脆多士上放上半熟法國農場雞蛋,入口蛋味濃郁,配搭風乾火腿與自家製荷蘭汁,味道層次更豐富。

主菜選了店內的招牌菜Vol Au vent,酥皮盒先放著魷魚和鱸魚,再把海鮮湯倒入充滿牛油香的巨型酥皮盒,而輕盈的酥皮吸滿了濃郁湯汁後,仍一點也不覺漏,反令人越吃越起勁,難怪是招牌菜。

因剛才的酥皮盒做得很出色,對酥皮類出品有信心,所以甜品點了兩個人便可點的必試Table-side caramelized mille-feuille。店家把放上巨型酥皮的餐車推來,先把mille-feuille分成兩份,再淋上忌廉和士多啤梨便完成。酥皮又薄又脆,忌廉口感厚實奶味重而入口又幼滑,加上酸酸的士多啤梨,整體效果的確不錯,要是可多下一點忌廉就更好了。

這個周末和假日才供應的Weekend Brunch,$398三道菜,$438四道菜,以環境、食物和服務質素來說都不貴,所以不單只在重要的日子才想到要吃法國Fine Dining,犒賞平日辛勞工作的自己也很適合哦!

We had our 11th anniversary brunch at Epure. It was the first time we came here and we were totally impressed by the art deco + brushed brass decor. The brunch is $398 for 3 courses. Very very reasonable for a restaurant of this calibre. But the tartlets are very zesty and tangy -- very much an Asian-inspired taste and I loved it. Really did wake up my taste buds on a lazy Sunday.

Appetizers: Chilled lobster with heirloom tomato 3 ways -- stunning! Tomato soup, tomato sorbet and tomato jelly all taste exceptional and they match the lobster seamlessly.

Oysters boudeuse: Again, the dressing is very much an Asian fare, which I like. Lime, ginger and toasted peanuts. The courgette adds some crunch and more dimension to the mouthfeel. The oysters are crisp and briny.

Main course: spit roast of the day -- pork chop. Perfectly roasted with lovely pink inside. Very tender and flavorful. It tasted good, but it's rather expected. Not as creative or surprising as the appetizer.

Vol-au-vent with seafood and lobster cream: The puff pastry is awesome -- very flaky and in perfect shape. The squid and cod are tender and velvety -- perfectly cooked. The lobster cream is also tasty, but a bit too filling. The veggie on top (I forgot what it's called, but the waiter did explained) is crunchy and helps cut through the greasiness of the sauce.

Finally desserts: Floating island is actually soft meringue flavoured with vanilla seeds on a butterscotch sauce and a quenelle of caramel ice cream. The meringue is soft and fluffy. The caramel ice cream is velvety and it bursts with flavours. Excellently done.

The pineapple rum baba, on the other hand, isn't as impressive. The sponge cake is what a sponge cake should taste like, soaked with rum and pineapple syrup. The pineapple sorbet tastes good, but again, not exceptional. This course reminds me of the cocktail Pina Colada, kinda a cliche. It doesn't taste bad, but it's just not very sophisticated in terms of layering of flavours and textures.... I'm being overly critical here.

Petite-fours: apricot fruit gem is very fruity and slightly tart. Great to cleanse the palate after a meal. The sponge cake with hazelnut cream and caramel white chocolate chips is just ok, but not great. It tastes too much like the pineapple Baba with an indistinct flavour. The chestnut tartlets are bursting with chestnut flavour. The filling is very creamy. But to be honest, we are too full to appreciate any good food at this point...

All in all, a great experience. The sommelier and the waiter were very helpful and courteous. It took a bit too long to check the bill (over 20 minutes), otherwise, it would be a perfect brunch.  And for this price, both the food and service are exceptional.  I would highly recommend Epure to anyone interested in French food.
题外话/补充资料: Please note the Dalloyau patisserie is $80+ a piece for eat in, $56 a piece for take out. The Terrace serves a different menu and you should double confirm when you make reservations.

Until I was there again for lunch today. We ordered the three courses lunch and everything was fine until the foie gras course. There was A BUG on the garnish. We ordered the three courses lunch and everything was fine until the foie gras course. There was A BUG on the garnish. So I told the manager and they said they will prepare a new one.

5 mins later, I got the "new" piece of foie gras which obviously is the same but they just changed the garnish..... The manager emphasised that it was a different one and they made sure that it's clean this time..... So ate half of the dish and it was hard inside which is an indication that it wasn't freshly prepared AT ALL and to make it worse... I FOUND ANOTHER BUG AGAIN.

I couldn't enjoy the rest of my lunch and they offered no compensation, paid the full price. Will not go back. Ever again.
