My 2nd anniversary dinner was held in Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. I had always considered Ruth's Chris as a fancy steakhouse given its price, but found they aren't going the fancy style but a happy cosy steakhouse style. In several localised steakhouse in HK, you will find 'black pepper sauce' along with the steaks, but in Ruth's Chris Steakhouse the best sauce to go with your steak is Butter, Salt and Pepper. A topnotch steak does not require any sauce as itself can already provide the best taste

(A point to note: Once you have tried Ruth's Chris's Steak, you could never go back! Their steaks are heavenly delectable that you will miss them everytime you have steaks elsewhere. No exaggeration!!)

Environment (5/10)
Very american settings with brilliant ambiance, looking fancy but quite causal. Seating is rather packed, but we reserved a more private area beforehand so we were fine.

Delicious! It tasted very similar to the Maryland Crab Cakes (where Crab Cakes are originated from) according to my boyfriend. The Crab lumps tasted fresh and was nicely garnished with red peppers. It was slightly crispy with bread crumbs. And the dish really did come in sizzlingly hot!!

Fillet, 11 ounces (9/10)
Came in a really thick cut and grilled in a perfect medium. It was very tender with suitable chewiness and had a Strong beef taste. Absolutely brilliant steak, the Fillet tasted twice as good as the Ribeye.

Had the ribeye in medium rare with extra butter and it came sizzingling on dish with the perfect look and texture. The texture was Great with the fats but the fat portion seemed too much. Upon my first bite I thought it had a much better texture than the Fillet, but later I found the fillet had a stronger beef taste and a nicer texture. Yet Ribeye definitely is a bit juicier than the Fillet.

Appealing look but both the sliced potatoes and the onions were totally burned! A horribly prepared dish but we didn't returned it to the Kitchen.

An extremely thin and crispy caramel layer covered the lovingly smooth and creamy vanilla custard base. YUM! It is one of the best Creme Brulee I have ever had, or actually its the best at the moment.

It was a surprise complimentary dish for my anniversary with my boyfriend, so sweet of them! I love this bread pudding, it was overflowing with CINNAMON taste! (I admit I am biased on cinnamon based dish lol) There was also too many raisons and a very strong whiskey sauce that I dislike.

Service (9/10)
Great hospitability, everyone carries a smile, very smart and caring. Nothing to ask for more. The pace of courses delivery was a bit rush though and there was no bread knife for the bread. Hence a point taken off from the perfect 10. Otherwise, its really fantastic!

Given the smartness and the hospitability of the staff, I will highly recommend Ruth's Chris to anyone who is trying to host birthday/ anniversary party. When we were deciding which desserts to choose from, the staff said the portion of the bread pudding and the banana tart are both too big for us and recommended us to try the four most popular dishes as shown on the dessert display tray. My boyfriend and I later figured it might be their tactics so we wouldn't choose the bread pudding which they have prepared as a complimentary annivesary dessert.

On my way out of the restaurant, the staffs kept saying happy anniversary to me. Although feeling a bit embarassed, it was actually pretty sweet and warming!

P.S. Do make a reservation beforehand and inform if its for a special occasion or not, they will prepare a great surprise if it is. Enjoy

Meat taste good but don't expect to sauce, just salt & pepper only, original meat taste.Service, not impolite but not kind at all, no smilling, government office is more cheerful and flexible. It's the regular dinner time at every month-end with my lovely colleague!!!This time my new colleague recommanded the Ruth's Chris Steak House to us. It is heard that the restaurant have done their steak very well. And then after the waiters settle down our seats, I start looking at the menu.
There are variety of steak for us to choose from. Rib Eye, T Bone, Fillet...etc
I have ordered Filet with less 'oz' as I though I cannot finish a 8oz Rib Eye myself.

The appetizer is baked onion with cheese and fired onion.

After we talked for around 15-20 mins, our main course - steak was being served.
Different from other steak house, the steak was served with a extremly hot special dish, which can keep the steak in a stable tempature.
(Be careful, don't touch the dish!)

Generally, this is the best steak I ever tasted !
For the service , it's really excellent. We started our dinner a little bit late at 10:00( They closed at 11:00)
At last we stay until 11:45, and a staff stay there to clean up our tables.
They never show impatient

難得放半日假,打算來個悠閒的午餐,就跑到這裡來。走美式風格,甫進來就有好些漂亮的廂座,可惜我們是WALK IN,不過大堂也非常的漂亮,木質的裝修予人很溫暖的感覺。侍應感覺上非常專業和有禮,不過沒有什麼笑容,讓這次的午餐添上點嚴謹。洋蔥湯和面包先上。朋友對搭配的牛油讚不絕口,而我則喜愛洋蔥湯味濃而不鹹。上面舖上一層蒙莎里拿芝士,厚得讓人幸福的感覺(太膩了吧!)我的牛柳不用一會兒便到了。熱氣騰騰,油香撲鼻,肉質很好,而且外面連著香草用極高溫燒得焦脆,但裡面還是嫩紅的牛肉,正正正!朋友也欣賞牛扒三文治,牛扒上舖上芝士,但我還是比較喜歡自己的牛柳;我反倒一直搶他的薯條,新鮮即炸的非常好吃!雖然貴了一點,但這次悠閒的午餐實屬難得,喝著果汁聊聊天,我們都一副滿足的樣子離去。

洋蔥湯和面包先上。朋友對搭配的牛油讚不絕口,而我則喜愛洋蔥湯味濃而不鹹。上面舖上一層蒙莎里拿芝士,厚得讓人幸福的感覺(太膩了吧!)

My first time here many years ago to celebrate Christmas, and fell in love with this restaurant.

A bottle of Shiraz, Lobster Bisque, Rib Eye and Apply Pie is my own Set


They have set dinner, and A la Carte with choices of different steak and appetizers, salad.

One of the 2 Signature wines is my favourite Shiraz, Blue Eyed Boy 2009 from South Australia. Not expensive, around $1,000, and really nice.

I used to have salad but I have Crabtini this year, so fresh and nicely presented.
Lobster Bisque, I like the strong taste, yummy!
12 oz Rib Eye, medium rare, so good
with a selection of side dish of creamed spinach....Wow...

Finally, dessert time.
To make my dinner more Christmas feel, I had the Apply Pie...it's huge, even sharing among 2 people, but we can finish all to complete our Christmas dinner


They played Christmas songs for the whole night, and the atmosphere was great!

雖然發生車禍是不幸,但此小型車禍將會令我更記得今晚

US Prime Petite Filet 8oz 及 US Prime Ribeye 12 oz 同樣用牛油煮, 如果閣下怕太膩或不太喜歡牛油, 可要求廚師減少牛油的份量,
坦白說一份 8oz Filet 已經很飽, 牛扒和紅酒永遠是絶配,
看餐牌估計這裡的 HOUSE WINE 應該不錯, 但由於早已自備紅酒, 所以未能品嚐餐廳供應的紅酒, 下次再來光顧時, 可以不帶紅酒。

US Prime Petite Filet 8oz - 很腍, 很有牛味, 入口啖啖肉汁, 真是做到 Medium rare 的效果, 口感一流。
US Prime Ribeye 12 oz - 很有牛味, 可能因為有得比較, 這個比較韌。

雖然食完以上兩份已經好飽, 但高興的時候, 多多食物也可以吃下, 所以我們再點了甜品,
侍應生沒有為我們拿甜品餐牌, 他把五款甜品的實物拿到我們面前, 細心給我們解釋, 好讓我們作出啱心水的選擇, 很有趣呢...
最後, 我們選了 Apple Crumb Tart,

Apple Crumb Tart - 外脆內軟, 很有蘋果味, 上面的雪糕很香很滑。

由於是晚男友生日, 所以餐廳送了我們一個免費bread pudding, 真是令我們滿載而歸!

Bread Pudding - 果醬比較甜, 也是不錯的Bread Pudding。

這家餐廳很有誠意, 裝修優雅, 很有情調, 仲有 dress code, 男士不能著背心、短褲, 男女士也不能著涼鞋,
相信去到咁浪漫及有情調的餐廳, 女士們都會著靚靚, 是晚外國客人比較多, 每枱都盡興而歸, 有一種去了外國進餐的感覺。

Classy old school place, great service, and one of the best steaks I've had in Hong Kong.

We ordered one set dinner and some ala carte dishes.

The set starts with an aperitif, a glass of sweet sparkling wine, was so delicious and refreshing. A perfect start to the meal.

The lobster bisque and the bread combo was decent, and the portion is huge! The fluffy butter that comes with the bread was fantastic!

I had the US prime petite filet 8oz, which I thought would be too small for me, but no, the portion is just perfect for ladies. Perfectly cooked, nice caramelization on the outside, juicy, flavorful and super tender inside.

My partner had the US prime ribeye 12oz, which was delish, but I'd prefer the filet.

They are so flavorful, you don't need any sauce.

We had potato au gratin and marinated mushrooms as side dishes and both were yummilicious!

The set comes with a raspberry sorbet which was very refreshing, but we wanted to try their sinful molten chocolate cake and ordered one.

The cake was HUGE, but so delicious, we cleaned the plate. The coffee was good too.

We are so going back to this place for special occasions.
Pricey, but so worth it.

Don't forget to inform your server if you're celebrating something, you'll get a dessert on the house ;)

We had an alcove table that was beautifully private. The service was good and attentive at all times.The crab cake starter($140) that we shared was faultless. We had an alcove table that was beautifully private. The service was good and attentive at all times.

The crab cake starter($140) that we shared was faultless. The steaks, 120z ribeye ($420) and 8oz fillet($380) were pretty good but I found that the garnish of butter made mine a bit too greasy.

1個叫了 Filet , 可能因為係叫了 medium, 加上熱碟既關係, 熟咗少少. 應該要 medium rare. Filet 既牛肉味濃過 Ribeye. 胃口少的女士, 叫最細份量一定足夠.

1個叫了 Petite Filet and Shrimp, OK.

Sides : lyonnaise ( potato sauteed with onion ) , 薯仔太過火太硬.
creamed spinach , 好喜歡呢個, 個汁好creamy好香!

甜品 : bread pudding ( 餐廳送的 ) , 雖然係送的, 份量頗大, 麵包唔會太淋, 出奇的好吃!
apple crumb tart , 可能食完個 pudding 先食呢個, "攤"凍了, 唔夠熱.

overall :
環境舒服, 靜得黎又唔會有侷促感.
服務點到即止, 夠細心, 你需要佢地時, 佢地先從玻璃門後面走出黎. 用餐時唔會喺你附近行黎行去.
佢地既甜品, size 頗大, 食完 steak 再食甜品, 實在太飽了!
今次眼闊肚窄, 叫了太多食物! 吃完後, 個胃有點辛苦!

Ruth's Chris has always been one of my favorite steakhouse in Toronto, after coming back to HK, I always wanted to go back and try, plus Ruth's Chris is perfect for special occasions.
I have to say every time I walked into the restaurant, the buttery beef smell always makes your mouth waters before you even started to eat. Once again, Ruth's Chris did not disappoint me, the service and the food is always up to standard and you will know what kind of quality you will get all the time.

Rib eye (16 ounce) - medium都好鮮甜,但沒有這麼嫩.還是不錯.


要注意的是牛排上碟前,給我們各人一只碟子,是預先烘熱了的,本來是很好的主意,但碟子上灑上一些黑椒,會蓋過牛排香味,不太理想,如果不喜歡這樣,應叫他們省了.

Bread pudding (free):好香的玉桂味,不太甜份量也大,很好吃.如果再多一些custard就好了


服務也很貼心,遇見的所有員都很有禮和笑容滿面的,很難得.唯一美中不足的,是他們忘了還我寄存的物件.

今天外母生日,我們和外父母一起來慶祝。牛扒質素自然是高,易入口,有牛肉味,我們叫了兩份16安士的,開二,每人吃8安士,加上頭盤、配菜及甜品,真的是捧著肚子走。由於是外母生日,bread pudding免費。真好。不過我自己喜歡吃Lawry's的牛肉多些。我喜歡Lawry's的肉汁。外父也一樣。不過太太表示這裡的牛扒的質素高些。

不過我自己喜歡吃Lawry's的牛肉多些。我喜歡Lawry's的肉汁。外父也一樣。不過太太表示這裡的牛扒的質素高些。

I was there on a weekday evening after work. Though I was extremely tired, in particular I know that I had to work on the following day, but the dishes just cheered my spirit ... it was such enjoyable and astonishing. All the staff were extremely well-trained, the wooden deco was cozy. Back to the food, we had Appetizers first
French bread with butter - superb hot and spongy bread, served with high quality butter *the texture was not fat and more like sour cream to me*
Crab cake - appealing presentation by seeing the big and bulging flat balls, as well as hearing the nonstop sizzling sound. The filling was very rich with strong crab bite and flavor.
Scallop - tho I disliked scallop, yet the scallop was not small and the bite was nice! I think it was pan fried and the flavor was just balanced while the pan-fried character did not overwhelm the scallop flavor. Good, unexpectedly.
In addition, we had this Fiji water ... a bit too spendthrift it sounded ...

Here came the mouth-watering Main
Each two of us share the mains, while little brother(-in-law) had a bigger appetite ordered one full set for himself. I shared the medium rib eye with my love. Gosh, it came sizzling again. Even it was a share portion, it was still a big piece! Since I was a bloody lady, haha, it was not too juicy to my standard. But the strata of the steak layer is apparent and it was a pretty pink to brown texture. O dear, it was going to be perfect if I order medium ... rare!!
We did try on little bro's steak. Tho it looked more oily, the bite was superb again! The piece was just tender.
We as well had sauteed mushroom, mashed potato and spinach for side dish. Except the mashed potato I had not tried *enemy again*, the sauteed mushroom and spinach were of high quality, in particular the mushrooms. They were big and well-marinated, the saltiness was just great! Again, they provided us with the previous french bread again ...

Eventually, I had a cup of black coffee. The nice coffee aroma put the best full stop for the whole.

Bloody heaven, it was the place you should go for ... um, a perfect date?

Chocolate Molten Cake配雲呢拿雪糕~這不是心太軟,只是中間的朱古力漿會好似熔岩咁流出嚟,但今晚呢個,啲朱古力唔曉流喎。。。。。

死了,剛剛食完,寫緊呢篇食評時,我又留口水了。。。。。
