Disappointed meal. We have not been back as we have been trying the other Vietnamese restaurant - the Vietnam Station, as the former chief of Locomotive has left and started up the Vietnam Station. Anyhow, we ordered a bowl of 'Shun Fa Noodle' and Vietnamese rice - it came with an egg, pork chop, fried pigs' skins and rice that has been processed before cooking. The taste was really average - no excitement at all; we did not have any 'WOW' impression. I am not sure why this restaurant has been quoted by the HK Magazine as the Top 5 in Tai Hang. In fact, you may like to try the Vietnam Station instead. I don't think we'd be back for a while.

只係咁啱去開大坑, 無意中入咗去呢間越南餐廳. 唔上嚟open rice 都唔知佢原來係出名嘅. 我以毫無expectation嘅心情去試呢間食肆, 都幾滿意.我點了招牌火車頭粉....D湯好正, 好濃. 除了D牛丸有筋, 扣咗D分. 大致OK.芽菜我在美國D越南舖都係咁自己落, 所以已經習慣 (覺得係順理成章), 唔覺得有問題.不過以$68嘅價錢似乎貴咗D. 以咁嘅價錢應該落多D牛肉, 咁就值D.另外都叫了個雙檸蜜 (即龍鳳檸蜜)…. 都幾好飲. 唔係好甜.

一個星期都盡量 spare 一晚同 bf 撐撐枱腳,今次鎖定了地點為大坑因為民聲同小白屋都先後試過了,又見 openrice 將火車頭放係大坑十大之前並唔知原來咁多劣評~~如果一早知可能未必敢去試~~早一日 book 了七點的枱,但我地六點幾去到,當時無咩人,即刻有位坐一坐底有兩隻杯,碗筷,仲有一壺熱茶。其實大熱天時有無客人想要熱茶呢?而且枱面細細仲放咁大個壺,真唔知應唔應該讚佢服務好不過後來 request 兩杯凍水都好快有拎黎兩個人,三個餸,想睇睇份量再諗加餸,不過最後食淨仲打包火車頭河粉芽菜,香葉都自己落,剪下剪下都幾好玩既,湯 ok 熱啦,不過芽菜咁放都有點偏生湯底夠濃夠香,牛肉唔un,牛丸有咬口,份量足,好味﹗蔗蝦$48 得兩隻,雖然份量算大隻,蝦肉彈牙,蔗夠鮮甜,油ok 唔算多不過呢個價黎講應該做得好 d而且個皮炸得唔脆,少了一種脆卜卜的享受咖哩牛腩煲 (跟蒜蓉包)本來想另加蒜蓉包,好在店員提醒本身已跟,唔係就 double 左$108 一個煲但最唔好食係呢個餸首先值得讚的係牛腩夠冧,份量夠,薯仔夠甜,但除此之外就只有缺點咖哩唔香亦唔濃,有咖哩的形,食落卻無咖哩之實稀得似湯

芽菜,香葉都自己落,剪下剪下都幾好玩既,湯 ok 熱啦,不過芽菜咁放都有點偏生
湯底夠濃夠香,牛肉唔un,牛丸有咬口,份量足,好味﹗

蔗蝦
$48 得兩隻,雖然份量算大隻,蝦肉彈牙,蔗夠鮮甜,油ok 唔算多
不過呢個價黎講應該做得好 d
而且個皮炸得唔脆,少了一種脆卜卜的享受

咖哩牛腩煲 (跟蒜蓉包)
本來想另加蒜蓉包,好在店員提醒本身已跟,唔係就 double 左
$108 一個煲但最唔好食係呢個餸
首先值得讚的係牛腩夠冧,份量夠,薯仔夠甜,但除此之外就只有缺點
咖哩唔香亦唔濃,有咖哩的形,食落卻無咖哩之實
稀得似湯,而且汁唔夠點包及牛腩,食剩一半之時煲中只剩牛腩
牛腩薯仔亦無咖哩味,像搭枱一樣未能融為一體
蒜蓉包也不合格,不脆不熱而且蒜味欠奉
感覺像在麵包店買一條法包切開搭上較咸的淡蒜味牛油一樣
相信只要用心一點,自己在家都可以做出比它好的品質

食物不是難食,但除了火車頭河粉之外,其他食物算唔上符合客人的期望
雖然明白銅鑼灣地段食野貴 d
但質素比九龍城地踎食店還差一截,實在難怪咁多人比劣評

媽媽說想吃炒飯,這是我在 menu 上見到的唯一一款炒飯。上檯時感覺份量較少,但也正合媽媽胃口。欖菜頗多,料很足,我挺喜歡,香口的。媽媽則嫌太咸了點。

除食物外,其實裝修的確挺討好的。開放式廚房,看來整齊也專業,整體裝修,其實更像一家西餐廳。

尋日下晝見得閒,2個人就走入去大坑搵食。好多間都爆滿,係呢間會同你登記,所以係等佢,結果等咗10分鐘就有位。見到其他客差不多個個都係湯粉,我地都一時15、16,如果係叫咗 火車頭招牌湯河、蟹肉湯檬 同 牛油田雞 (另 飲品)。個招牌湯河係用佢個招牌牛肉湯底,加生牛肉、瘦肉片、牛筋丸、牛栢葉、牛"孑孑"筋、... 係好大碗、好多料,好到直情係好難搵返d河粉出黎,而當中,係粒牛筋丸嘅筋咬唔開之外,其他都做得非常好,特別係牛"孑孑"筋,林滑但唔好漏。另一方面,佢個湯好香、好濃,飲落唔覺口乾。而且,佢有一杯新鮮嘅金不換 同 魚露 俾你任落,又送青檸同紅椒,$68碗係超值。另一碗 蟹肉湯檬係蕃茄海鮮湯底,飲落係好重海鮮味,蟹肉又新鮮又多,亦係值得一讚。至於 牛油田雞,佢真係 用上好多 靚牛油 同 大蒜 去爆d田雞,而且田雞大件得黎,仲好嫩,做得好好。而且個牛油係用ghee而唔係butter,就令到碟餸香得多。我唸,我明白點解佢有咁多劣評。可能係因為佢太出名、太多客、地方又幾迫、d餸又唔係特矜貴但係又收得唔平,所以d客人等得耐又燥、d侍應做得辛苦又比較黑面,結果就咁多劣評。單講食物水準,其實佢真係

我唸,我明白點解佢有咁多劣評。可能係因為佢太出名、太多客、地方又幾迫、d餸又唔係特矜貴但係又收得唔平,所以d客人等得耐又燥、d侍應做得辛苦又比較黑面,結果就咁多劣評。

單講食物水準,其實佢真係好抵食。佢肯用貴好多嘅ghee,係會令到香味純粹好多,而唔會好似用butter咁濁,但係又有幾多人明白呢?

如果講食湯粉,我就情願入呢度食得貴d好d。

其實我覺得,佢開少2張枱,做少幾個客會好好多。但係生意嘅野,又豈可盡如人意呢?

話時話,尋日餐晏,我真係到今日食晏都仲覺飽。

I have tried this restaurant few times and after few years, I was back to reconfirm the ability of the chef. The thing I really liked about the restaurant was that the interior design was very innovative, along with the open kitchen style, everything seemed to be so refreshing for first-comers. The seats were alright, though was a bit squashed but generally quite comfy. The waiters were not at a very nice attitude, especially with one or two of the dressing style (so called 'Punk and rock-wear') were even more inappropriate.
The food were generally delicious. The beef in the signature dish of the restaurant (the soup noodles) were a bit of over-cooked.

今日同家人慶祝Father's Day, 一家人去火車頭,非常非常之失望, 食物退步很多很多了, 招牌火車頭河- 唔夠熱, 仲唔夠味, 同以前完全唔同.....唔平架!!! 蒸粉卷 - 變咗, 個侍應仲要話冇可能, 今日賣咁多都冇話有事, 天氣咁熱變咗都唔奇吖! 唔認! 仲黑面! 生熟牛河 - 普通! 唔夠味咁! 漏單3樣嘢!!!! 激死仲叫咗其他食品, 麻麻地...............最差係公雞頭待應, 拿多隻匙和碗都好唔願意, 口黑臉黑, 仲話咪比咗你哋一人一隻, 我心捻仲要多套唔得咩! 好冇禮貌, 咁嘅服務熊度太驚人, 我捻任何人見到佢個樣都, 都覺得唔掂!!!!! 其實都好多朋友講過, 但冇捻過金髮嘅都係麻麻哋!!!!!! 以後都唔去, 去都去佢以前師父嗰間, 湯底同服務好好多, 冇咁hill!!!

都話生日既人係大晒架,正日中午,去大坑搵食,雖然知道此店響OP的食評麻麻,但撈檬怪好想食撈檬 ,我就揸主意試下,樓下無位,原來有樓上的,被帶到一邊有大電視,sofa,甚至有鋼琴的房間,高腳餐桌,相信是給人包場的VIP房,相當舒適火車頭湯河,其一選了此招牌菜,我好怕濃味的牛湯,飲了一湯匙,幾濃味下,河粉幼身而好滑, 牛丸夠彈牙, 牛筋雖然淋但無味,重有生牛肉同牛柏葉,都幾多料,重有香葉任放,食者覺得味道還可以春卷撈檬,春卷有三件, 餡料比較多肉,個人口味唔鍾意,但食者覺得OK;扎肉撈檬,我選的,扎肉沒有一般的淋,幾好,這裡的撈檬都幾大碗,配料都好多,而檬汁的味道酸酸甜甜有魚露香,對於我哩位撈檬怪而言,幾好!柚子大蝦沙律,比較差,上檯好似之前比人摷過,雖然算幾多蝦,但太少柚子,汁亦多得滯,唔夠香和惹味,失色了!龍眼冰,比其他店香同好多龍眼肉,消暑飲品,正!越南凍咖啡和涼粉冰,普通!

火車頭湯河,其一選了此招牌菜,我好怕濃味的牛湯,飲了一湯匙,幾濃味下,河粉幼身而好滑, 牛丸夠彈牙, 牛筋雖然淋但無味,重有生牛肉同牛柏葉,都幾多料,重有香葉任放,食者覺得味道還可以
春卷撈檬,春卷有三件, 餡料比較多肉,個人口味唔鍾意,但食者覺得OK;
扎肉撈檬,我選的,扎肉沒有一般的淋,幾好,這裡的撈檬都幾大碗,配料都好多,而檬汁的味道酸酸甜甜有魚露香,對於我哩位撈檬怪而言,幾好!
柚子大蝦沙律,比較差,上檯好似之前比人摷過,雖然算幾多蝦,但太少柚子,汁亦多得滯,唔夠香和惹味,失色了!
龍眼冰,比其他店香同好多龍眼肉,消暑飲品,正!

越南凍咖啡和涼粉冰,普通!

The place people usually took me for Pho (raw beef noodle) in Hong Kong is Pearl Vietnamese Restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong. I think it tastes good and all but its Pho significantly light and lagged in the aroma and fragrance of herb and vegetable Pho is known for.Enter Café Locomotive. Enter Café Locomotive. I don’t really buy their story that inspires them to come with the café name. However, this one came closer to Pho I know.

The soup is relatively rich, slightly too much sugar added in there, I think. The best part is the fresh herb provided on the table which brings Pho to life as it was supposed to be. While I know HK people cannot take lots of strong taste, try to put at least 4-5 leaves of sweet basil in Pho plus a quarter of lime juice. It really brings out the life of the dish. The thin slice beef is just ok, not great, but the cooked one was not tender enough.

The dish I don’t like is Satay which is very salty and, sometimes, burned. The deep fried stuff like spring roll and other Vietnamese dishes was just OK. So, go for Pho here if you miss the real Vietnamese style

Went to lunch at 12:30, not too many people around, get sitted very quickly.We ordered a beef rice & 順化noodles & chicken Salad. The beef rice is extremely small portion, lucky my friend is on diet. The taste is so so la.The 順化noodles, is not a real Vietnamese style, very disappointed. We ordered a beef rice & 順化noodles & chicken Salad.

The beef rice is extremely small portion, lucky my friend is on diet. The taste is so so la.

The 順化noodles, is not a real Vietnamese style, very disappointed. This shop used to be my favouite Vietnamese restaurant in HK, but after the chef left, anythings now become HK style.

The chicken sald was average, because the sauce is not strong enough to bring the freshness out.

we arrived there around 9pm, finall got a table upstairs at 9:40pm. TerribleThe decoration was stylish and impressive - elegant european tasteThe food was ok, service acceptable.Around 10:30pm, 3 artists, one of them was (A -gla b-by) came for late dinner with other hot girls. The waiters gone crazy , all most waiters wanted to serve food in their room. Unbeliveable p.s total we ordered 8 items - cost $500, a bit expensive lor.

飲啖湯, 唔錯,好夠味,但唔會係味精湯感覺; 河粉好滑 ;仲有牛筋丸同埋牛柏葉..ok

2)唔知乜野飯,點解可以收$68!!? 過份
! 好難食,點解可以整到咁難食?! .....


3)炒通菜,ok. 我見隔離枱叫, 我先叫. 不過$42幾貴.

仲有,d侍應可以o係d客面前又玩, 又叫.. 超嘈!

快快食完....要去食甜品開心下

逃離西半山搵朋友食 dinner, 拉了陪我到大坑食越南湯河. 上次0個間湯底麻麻0地好飲 (http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=1993785), 今次試試傳說中好好飲, 但又0係 Openrice 勁多劣評的呢間.

揀了招牌火車頭湯河, 果然好食過出面0個間好多:-
- 湯底: 夠熱, 味道極濃, 帶點藥材0個隻甘味, 跟住覺得個口有點甜, 仲好飲過呢間的 (http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/commentdetail.htm?commentid=1886928), 勁正! 結果又俾我飲晒.

- 河粉: 屬幼身一類 (但唔係金邊粉來的), 頗滑, 不過腍了 d, 食食0下帶點糊口, 感覺一般.
- 配角: 牛筋丸最好食, 雖然食食0下攝了「筋」入牙縫, 但肉味好濃又彈牙, 正.
生牛肉唔夠「生」, 食落頗嫩滑, 不過肉味麻麻; 熟牛肉就一樣無喱肉味, 而且好硬好韌, 唔好食; 牛筋腍滑, 「骨膠原」位豐富, 哈哈; 牛柏葉就夠爽口, 都不錯.

平日唔食湯河, 只食豬頸肉飯的朋友就因為見唔到「目標」,「被迫」食生熟牛河, 唔知湯底0岩唔0岩佢口味?

仲有 share 食的沙爹串燒雞 (一客 3 串)... 沙爹汁有勁多花生, 不過本身香濃度一般; 雞肉就出奇地好, 又嫩滑又 juicy, 好食.

食物好掂, 環境亦頗靚裝, 不過星期一 8:xx pm 仍然多人到要等位, 亦要坐半露天位, 坐坐0下都幾熱; 招呼就唔係其他食評講到咁恐怖, 不過好就一定唔係0架喇, 食完快閃好了.

連加一每人約 $75, 唔算太貴, 好滿意的一餐飯. 下次0黎, 想食牙車快, 田雞腿, 海鮮湯, 燒鵪鶉...
