Being a Shanghainese, heard about this restaurant and was really looking forward to it. Understood there are two sessions, 6 - 8 and 8:15 till close. We picked the 6 pm session.
Food: The food was OK, on par with Wu Kong and Evergreen Villa but portion is much smaller. The leen go and red date pan fried cake was good.
Decor: Nice decor but when we went there there was no background music. The roof is low so it was rather loud. It reminds me of Mott 32 (if only the food and service is so good)
Service: Terrible. Tea pot and water pot were left emptied for more than 15 minutes at least. The worst part was at 7:40, we were asked to get the bill despite the fact that dessert has not yet arrived after waiting for 20 minutes. Then while the dessert came, they start collecting our plates, some of our guests just placed the dessert on the plates and those were taken away! Appalling service.
Price: Around 300 per head, average price.
Overall: The food is promising, I hope the management can train up the staff and up the game to become a top notch Shanghai restaurant. At current service attitude, there will not be a second visit. It is a pity.
