Last Saturday afternoon I went to Yuen Long again hoping to try my luck to see whether I could stumble upon some good foods in the street, it turned out that a famous noodle restaurant in the buzzy street did not disappoint me.Space was stringent inside and the tables were close to each other, I managed to get a seat with 3 others strangers sharing the table. I ordered a dumpling noodle, the small bowl of noodle was ready in just 3 minutes, I got some chilli paste in a small plate and everything

I immediately found that the noodle was so unique upon the first mouthful of it, the noodle was a bit chewy and coarse, a texture that you won't normally find in other noodle restaurant. The noodle is indeed famous in this old town of Hong Kong and they sell dry noodle with eye fetching yellow packages with a slew of different ingredients and tastes, besides selling cooked noodle. So, it is indeed a noodle shop in addition to a noodle restaurant.

The water dumpling was also very competitive, and quite out of my expectation there were altogether 4 of them in that very small bowl. The dumplings were stuffed with shredded wood ear, minced pork and a few tiny fresh shrimps. They were very tasty and I guessed was due to the freshness of ingredients used. The stock of the noodle and dumplings was prepared from pig bone and fish, an information provided by the cashier, whom I guess is also a man in charge.

The chilli paste is another gem of the restaurant, very reinvigorating fragrant of chilli abeit a bit too salty, again a vindication of fresh ingredients.

The furniture are old styles which I think the owner have been paying great effort to preserve and maintain, it is yet another entrancing attraction inside the restaurant.
