The restaurant surprised us by saying we needed to reserve the a la carte menu several days in advance. So, we had to go with the 9-course dinner, and it cost $1480 per person, plus 10% service charge. So, in the spirit of optimism, I thought, "No biggie, perhaps we can change the menu a bit?"
I just wanted to swap out the raw fish course, but they said no, despite acknowledging some ingredient issues. They weren't very flexible or customer-friendly.

We started with crispy seaweed, and it was like a snack from a supermarket, not the fancy start we expected…

The second course was meant to be Korean fish sashimi with perilla leaves and seafood sauce, but they had to swap in something else. Sadly, the substitute seafood was far from fresh – it was smelly and had a bitter aftertaste. A big letdown.

Next up, the Korean porridge resembled something you'd feed a baby, and the seafood hidden within was anything but fresh. We were far from impressed.

The slice of octopus, acorn jelly, and deep-fried tofu sandwich didn't manage to salvage the situation. The deep-frying couldn't hide the fact that the ingredients weren't up to snuff.

They served ginseng soup with risotto next, which was both flavorless and miserly in portion size.

The grill abalone with seafood soup was equally unimpressive. The abalone felt like chewing on rubber, and the seafood soup carried an off-putting fishy odor.

As for the main course, the grill Hanwoo beef was just average beef. It was far from memorable, and let's not forget that upgrading it set us back an extra $180.

The biggest shock came when they boasted about their "Busan's own farm rice." It was sticky and utterly flavorless. I could've cooked better rice at home in my sleep!

The best part of the night was the last course – a plain waffle with ice cream. It wasn't fancy, but it was much better than everything else.

In short, this restaurant was a big disappointment. The prices were exorbitant, the food was mediocre at best, and the service didn't do them any favors. My friend's birthday celebration will undoubtedly be memorable, but for all the wrong reasons. I'd strongly advise giving this place a pass if you value both your taste buds and your wallet.
