Walked for 20mins to find this place quite far from the mtr station. Got a seat straight away but we were lucky as everyone who came after us had to wait. Had the satay starter, the meat was so juicy and the satay dip was hand made yummyness! I ordered the curry and onion nan, my hubby had the dark noodles. The curry was sooooo tasty best curry I've had for years. My hubby was a bit dissapointed with the noodles but overall we were very happy with our meal. The service was really good they were

巴東牛肉:牛肉處理得很好,牛肉很林身,但不失牛肉味,可是巴東應較辣,這個醬汁個人認為沒辣味,連不太能吃辣的朋友也覺得不辣,但對於一向因不能吃辣而沒機會試這道菜的朋友也許是個好消息吧!

海南雞:未吃時看到賣相很好,雞的鮮顏色讓人很想吃!
夾起時發現連雞中翼的位置也是去骨,入口時發現很有黃油雞的感覺,感覺沒有冰鮮雞的感覺或味道,而且肉質很嫩滑,配上附上的醬汁一起吃,實在不能停下來呢!

油鬆餅:新鮮送過來時皮是脆的,但鬆餅內層仍是軟身,可惜今次沒有咖哩,巴東汁配鬆餅感覺怪怪的,下次還是叫咖哩一起吃好~ 順帶一提,必需趁熱吃,否則放久了會變硬喔~

炸香蕉:賣相也很特別,香蕉被炒香了的椰絲包圍著,咬下去的感覺,不覺得有脆漿,只覺得有一層薄薄的、甜甜的皮包著,第一次吃沒有厚厚皮包著的炸香蕉喔!
唯一遺憾是香蕉面的糖太甜,搶了香蕉的香味~


值得一提,老字號一向容易給人服務差、態度差的印象,可是這裡整個感覺很好,像我們差不多要吃甜品時,侍應生會主動將小碟連小叉放在我們的旁邊,待我們吃好主菜後才將甜品奉上,全程也有侍應不停的加水,就連我的熱水也會加喔!食物質素很不錯,也有良好的服務,價錢也合宜,我會再來的!

One of my new colleagues wrote a list of restaurants that she wanted to try in Wanchai and showed me during lunch, Sabah was at the top of the list. Coincidentally I read that Sabah's Buk Kuy Teh (Meat Bone Tea) was quite nice but I still had not tried it once, so I suggested going there. Lunch hours was so much packer than weekday's Dinner time. There was several tables waiting, but the wait wasn't that long, I guess we waited for 5-10 minutes max. Lunch sets of six choices were all priced at $

1) Pumpkin Soup with Crab Meat

Don't be deceived by the look, you knew the quality of this soup right at the first spoon. The pumpkin soup was the WORST pumpkin soup I have ever tasted. Pumpkin soup is supposed to be thick and creamy with pumpkin pureed in it. This soup in Sabah was a mucus-thick which I suspect they put in water chestnut flour to imitate the thickness that Pumpkin Soup have. I was disappointed that they deceived customers in this way to save cost. The crab meat didn't have much taste and texture neither.

2) Chicken in Green Curry with Rice

Absolutely Love the bowl! The Green Curry was still delicious and up to standard. It had a strong coconut taste, a bit sweet and was at a 1/10 spicy point. The texture was thick enough. There were heaps of aubergine, Makhuea Suai (Thai Eggplant), chicken and mix spices in the bowl. Both the Makhuea Suai and aubergine were soft but failed to capture the luscious coconut taste from the curry. The chicken on the other hand was very smooth and tender.

3) Lamb in Red Curry with Plain Roti

Red Curry - After the nice green curry bowl, I was expecting the same standard in Sabah's Red Curry. I was very disappointed upon my first spoon of the curry itself, it was very thin in texture and was pretty much tasteless despite the spiciness. Apparently the curry was diluted as it was rather watery, and they tried to bring back the taste by adding more spiciness in it. The lamb and the potato themselves were pretty nicely done though, it was just the curry itself that disappointed me.

Plain Roti - The roti was only warm when served which should have made to stock for the busy lunch hour. The outer layer was quite crispy but was on the hard side as it got cool down. The patty was rather thick at the sides and not fluffy enough.

To be blunt, the dish was not appetizing looking at all, the presenting of the dish was rather poor. The dish served with a plate of chilli sauce and pounded ginger, while as authentic as Sabah, I thought they should have a least separate the two and provide the dark soy sauce as well?

The chicken was tasteful, smooth and tender. The only criticism was the missing jelly-like skin finishing, it was too oily and grossed to taste. I wonder if they had dipped the bird into ice/icy water after cooking, or they were too lazy to do so as normal customer would not really care about the skin?

The Rice was quite disappointing. It possessed the look but not the taste nor the texture. The rice was nicely separated but each rice grain was swollen up and became too soft which lost its texture. Taste-wise, it had a tint of coconut taste in it but I was expecting much stronger judging its look.

5) Beef Skewers in Black Pepper Sauce with Chips and Vegetables
Beef was hard as hell, but chips were nice

The dish was nicely arranged. The beef skewers was extremely hard to chew and was rather dry in texture. The black pepper sauce was thus essential when taking the beef skewers to moisten it. The chips was way nicer than the beef skewers itself. The potato was cut in wedges and deep fried to give a golden yellow crispy coat.

6) Bah Kui Teh

The shade of Sabah's Bah Kui Teh was in dark shade, adding to the fact that it was quite salty, I believe they used a great deal of soy sauce to make the soup. The Chinese Medicine flavour was quite heavy, but on the other quite watery, should have mixed in extra water than it should be. The simmered pork rib had made the soup rather oily to taste, but the rib itself was very savoury and tender.

The soaked tofu puffs had absorbed the soup totally, but since the soup wasn't great itself, so made the tofu puff. The Dried Tofu puffs on the other hand was rather hard in texture. It was rather a bad bowl of Bah Kui Teh.

In general, I was surprised by how different the food quality can be at lunch and at dinner times. Most of the dishes that I liked when I paid my last visit at night was horribly made at lunch. I hope restaurants as nice as Sabah could put more effort to keep up their quality standard. One more thing I would like to say was that they didn't serve us any dessert...*weep!

今日(27-4-2011 Wed)繼續過o黎灣仔人做半日o野,約男友同我o係呢區食飯,食完我至返荃灣公司.佢上網查到呢間’好o野’,就先o黎搵位,點知我老闆娘唔提早放我食lunch,攪到男友先叫o野食,我去到,佢已經食完佢$65.00o既海南雞飯套餐等我,真係好唔好意思.而佢都飲o緊一杯另叫o既拉茶.我都試吓,係淡淡的唔甜o既一杯奶吧.之後我叫個$65.00o既餐,又唔記得咩椰汁咖哩牛肉配油鬆餅,要可樂.好快,餐湯到o黎,細細碗,上面有脆片,真得意,攪吓佢,原來係粟米湯,都有啲蛋花添,而味道就係清清淡淡咁.然後椰汁咖哩牛肉同油鬆餅都到o黎,牛肉粒好鬆軟,牛味都濃郁,薯仔亦好腍,而成個餸對我o黎講係辣,可能入晒味啦.而開頭油鬆餅蘸汁食時唔係咁覺辣,但食食吓都頂唔住,唔蘸太多喇.食完,男友都拿拿淋要埋單,我o既甜品都即上,係咩o黎呢?係一件糕,咁又係件咩糕?答案係唔知,只知係冇甜味,只知有啲西米,口感係腍腍地.價錢,男友埋單時拎埋張單,我睇睇,原來佢杯拉茶都要$30.00,好貴呀!小插曲:我食到尾聲時,隔離張枱後過我o地o黎o既客人點完菜後,問我o地係咪香港人,問我o地覺得呢o度啲o野食點

我食到尾聲時,隔離張枱後過我o地o黎o既客人點完菜後,問我o地係咪香港人,問我o地覺得呢o度啲o野食點.佢話佢o地係馬來西亞人,o係o個邊開餐廳,呢次o黎香港係想睇可唔可以o係香港開返間馬來西亞餐廳.我見佢o地飲o緊杯珍多冰,就問佢o地覺得點?佢o地話難飲.

正常o既,始終都要改少少就返本地人口味,否則就冇生意o架啦.

Since I don't eat spicy food,so we ordered non-spicy curry,but it was still very tasty with great smell of curry.I think 油鬆餅 was the best food that night as it was soft and savoury

My Malaysian friends recommended this place as the best Malaysian restaurant in Hong Kong and I was eagerly looking forward to sample the fare. My Malaysian friends recommended this place as the best Malaysian restaurant in Hong Kong and I was eagerly looking forward to sample the fare. I was desperately looking for a fix for my Malaysian cravings, and this restaurant seemed to be the answer.

Four of us ordered the laksa, fried kuey teow, chicken rendang, nasi lemak, rojak and roti canai.
The portions were moderate. I loved the rendang and the nasi lemak. The rice was fragent, the rendang made me sigh in happiness. The other dishes, in my opinion were average. The laksa soup was thick and tasty and I was impressed that they added prawn paste (my absolute favourite) on it. However, the noodles used were just normal bihoon noodles which killed the overall laksa experience for me. The fried kuey teow was ok-ish, there is just something missing which I suspect is the way the kuey teow was fried, just not how it's made from home. The rojak sauce was weak, passable for me. Lastly, the roti canai was a little on the hard side, and lacking the crunchiness of canais made back home.

The damage cost was HKD 200 per pax. A little on the high side, however justifiable whenever one feels the urge for food back home. I was impressed with the vast selection of choices ranging from bak kut teh all the way to indian rojak. I will definately head back for the nasi lemak and rendang when I am missing home.

1) 松油饼本身没啥味道,松松软软的,不过配上巴东牛肉的酱汁挺不错的~2) 巴东牛肉ok~ 分量和肉质很实在~ 典型的星马菜的香料味~超多人点这两道菜~3) 通菜一般,没有记忆中在另一家越南菜馆的好吃~4) 饮料和甜品不错,就是有点过甜~隔壁桌的煲看上去好不错,不过两个人吃撑了,点不了其他的啦,下次再来吧~

臨急臨忙要在灣仔找間似樣又不算貴的餐廳,友人推薦了這間。8點左右來到,很幸運不用等位,遲多5分鐘就要開始等了~店内環境不錯,乾淨,位置剛剛好不會逼三個人點了古馬羊肉咖喱,莎巴拼盤,海鮮炒飯,油鬆餅。都好味。尤其係用油鬆餅點古馬羊肉咖喱食!以及莎巴拼盤中用荷葉包裹著的雞肉!分量看似不多,但很飽。下次還會再來

三個人點了古馬羊肉咖喱,莎巴拼盤,海鮮炒飯,油鬆餅。都好味。尤其係用油鬆餅點古馬羊肉咖喱食!以及莎巴拼盤中用荷葉包裹著的雞肉!

分量看似不多,但很飽。

下次還會再來

生日來到這裡海鮮喇沙e個係Chihobaba的大愛一個人絕對係食唔哂...因為太濃郁太滯了....唔太鹼又惹味100分!雞用薄餅, 要趁熱食..!!涷左會好難食呢umumum, 不過都係鍾意手撕果類薯仔薄餅我覺得會好味d!要叫咖哩點黎食wor!青咖哩....!!帶點酸味鍾意青咖哩ge人一定會好鍾意..!!!不過嚐鮮也是不錯的選擇!下次都係同baba食巴東牛肉=P兩個人食三樣野係冇可能食得哂...=___=建議多d人去食啦

天氣又凍又濕今晚決定食下辣野驅走寒意7點幾去到要等位所以如果要去又唔想企響門口食風一係打個電話訂位 一係晏D8點幾左右入黎就剛剛好望落D 顏色好靚 食落好香不過料就比較少 如果多返D 就好 $55味道濃烈! 巴東牛肉入晒味 「正」! 無野好彈 $75唔夠乾身 食落口爭左DD $28埋單$174比平日SET LUNCH 價錢貴
