當日去湾仔會展,朋友介绍,說是地道的馬来西亚cuisine。午餐時間人多要等,餐廳内非常嘈杂,比茶餐廳還吵且座位非常擠逼,令人深覺“食物梗係超好味” 才可能有這樣的景象。等大概15~20分锺,期間先在門口研究餐牌,邊睇邊依啊鬼叫“價錢好貴!”因爲同故鄉比較,一時你話我我話你“嫌貴?搭飛機返去食啦!”。邊吵邊選擇,决定好了剛好埋位。試了:Penang Laksa 味道相似度=80% 食到有點眼濕濕,好挂住家鄉100%的味道and....price!Plain Roti Canai = 太乾,油份不足,不知係咪香港人追求健康。没提供Curry or Sambal Chili 佐料, 不够意思。 Fried Rice Noodle in Penang Style = 太濕,不合格 唔係Penang Style 或者是掌厨的手兿問題,又係没加蛤来炒(怕有肝炎?),見不到蛋花黏係面身,改名就接受到。Chicken Rendang = OK,肉有點硬,落佐不少糖甜中带少少辣,可以再辣些。Tangerine water = Out, 完全不是那回事。對於我而言,食到Asam Laksa 就好感動。

唔係Penang Style 或者是掌厨的手兿問題,又係没加蛤来炒(怕有肝炎?),見不到蛋花黏係面身,改名就接受到。
Chicken Rendang = OK,肉有點硬,落佐不少糖
甜中带少少辣,可以再辣些。
Tangerine water = Out, 完全不是那回事。


對於我而言,食到Asam Laksa 就好感動。所以OK,有机会可能try 個燒鱼。
以環境、食物水準同服务来比較價錢,唔係幾值得。

Overall, a big thumbs-up for taste and service... the environment was cognizant with the hustle bustle of a good Malaysian restaurant, loud and busy with hearty laughter from waiters and customers... can't wait to go back and try Ikan Paggang!

I come here quite often because it is possibly the only Malaysia restaurant with a deeply authentic taste. But the Indian cooking is below expectation.Okra Sambel - Very good. A must taste.Lasi Lemak - Good rice dish. Mix in all the ingredients and it is exactly as they serve it in KL.Roti Canai - Gets cold and hard very quickly."Pulled tea" - Very good.

Lasi Lemak - Good rice dish. Mix in all the ingredients and it is exactly as they serve it in KL.

第一次來的時候是因為書展,在openrice看見這間馬拉西亞菜gum多好評就來試下,但上次得兩個人,只試左海南雞飯,炒皇帝苗,肉骨茶和馬拉拉茶.四個都好特別…海南雞很滑但一點肥都沒有,三種醬各有千秋,但個人比較喜歡辣醬 一個小的肉骨茶有四小碗,小排骨很lum,很入味,湯很清馬拉拉茶比港式的奶味重,很香上星期四第二次再來莎巴,試左想試很久的喇沙,海鮮喇沙有很多海鮮,D湯很鮮甜,椰味很重,巴東雞和椰汁茄子只是普通推介的還有椰汁羊肉,用油鬆餅包著,一流!

As Mr.M was having his internship in the Great Eagle, and I was having my summer job in Thomson road, we decided to have lunch together as we were both working in Wanchai.It was raining heavily that day and we just stopped by this Malaysian Restaurant. I ordered Seafood Laksa and Mr.M ordered a set which includes lobster soup, main course, drink and dessert.His lobster soup's texture is like sth between solid and liquid , very sticky kind. I can tell that they did not use enough shrimp, fish , not to mention lobster, to make this soup as it is tasteless.

My seafood laksa was inside a small bowl but there are lots of seafood on top. 2 mussels, prawns, fish ball which are quite fresh....the soup is rich in coconut milk and the noodles is hmmm "al dente".

But it costs $60 a bowl, woth it or not?

I will come back and try their other specialists next time as the others say that Roti Canai and asama laksa are nice.

That is exactly what I want – the long missed Pendang Chicken. Suddenly ordered by my Mom that I had to do away beef in my diet, the dish that I miss most is the Pendang Beef. It’s so nice that I can order Pendang Chicken in this restaurant – my long missed flavor. Another plus is the deskinned chicken in this dish. That is exactly what I want – the long missed Pendang Chicken. Suddenly ordered by my Mom that I had to do away beef in my diet, the dish that I miss most is the Pendang Beef. It’s so nice that I can order Pendang Chicken in this restaurant – my long missed flavor. Another plus is the deskinned chicken in this dish. Frankly speaking, it will be a difficult task to distinguish the skin and the flesh in the dark-sauce. Though the appearance doesn’t look attractive at all, I really miss the taste of it so much.
The other dish is also mouth-watering. The Assam Laksa is superb for a refreshing summer meal for its sour unique flavor. However it would be more attractive with a little more fish inside. The Roti Canai is crispy but not oily, it goes well with curry. The stir-fried morning glory is also nice. In general, we are happy with the quality of food but the meal is a bit over-priced at nearly $300 for 2 with 1 Assam Laksa, 1 Pendang Chicken, 1 stir-fried morning glory. 1 Roti Canai, 1 plain rice, 1 coconut drink + 1 Lemon Bailey. The staff there is also nice and friendly.

馬拉佬提過常來此店,應該味道正宗吧!17:30來到,店員問有無訂位。我地無噃!呢D時間不用訂吧!六點多已坐了七成人!似乎真有訂位需要。青檸梳打$25,齋梳打+青檸,我唔鐘意囉,不過大熱天時,要叫來爽爽。肉骨茶(細)$68,比想像中少料/湯渣。只有四條肋骨、豆泡、很硬的腐竹。不過味道都ok!椰汁咖哩雞$68,椰汁不多,稀稀地,很有藩茄和香葉味,好食!薯仔略嫌未煮夠腍。油蔥餅$28,以為是中國青蔥,原來是洋蔥.....,洋蔥半熟了,,很甜甜。炸椰絲香蕉$28,連椰絲炸,所以加倍脆口,香蕉遇熱也溶起來,combination好好,仲好食過高力豆沙香蕉呢!

After the comic expo, I went over to Jeffey Road to try Katong Laksa Prawn Mee which I have been longing for a while. Unfortunately it was already closed when I arrived the road at around 930pm. The restaurant was not the fanciest around the area. It had a lousy LED ads hanging outside the restaurant, but the indoor setting was quite cosy. The kitchen was an open one, so you could check how the chief master the techniques of pancake making.

1) Iced Red Bean $25
I was in extreme thirst when I went into the resturant, so the first thing I checked on the menu was drink list. I turned to the last page but turned out the list was on the first page. The drink had an unexceptablyrich rich taste of coconut milk! The drink was mildy sweet and was of my liking!

2) Ron Canal $22
We ordered Ron Canal in plain, but it could be prepared with eggs, garlics or other ingredients. The Ron Canal looked very fluffy when it came to our table, and it did actually possess a fluffy texture. The ron canal was soft and light which went very nicely with the Beef Rendang sauce.

3) Ron Masala Potato $30
I thought Ron Masala Potato was something like Ron canal, fluffy and flat. Ron Masala Potato was actually fried pancaked with a potato filling. The pancake wrapper was made thin and thus became crispy after pan-fried, but could still retain a soft texture. The fillings were mashed potatoes mixed with bits of red carrots with a curry base. The Ron Masala did not have a strong taste even its fillings were mashed with curry sauce.

4) Beef Rendang $75
Beef Rendang is curry made with traditional malaysian flavour sauce. The sauce was quite different from what I usually have for curry. Beef Rendang was served on plate instead of a bowl, so you could imagine the sauce wasn't much. Taste wise, the sauce was not spicy at all and tasted quite nice. I could not tell what the spices were, but there were some shredded substances that were pointy in the curry, It did not hurt your throat, but was quite annoying while having that feelings in your throat.

5) Fried Turnip Cake with Seafood & Eggs $60
The saucing was nice and strong, however the turnip's texture was too soft that it broke apart when you tried to pick them up with chopsticks. The turnip didn't really has a taste with them, but the spring onions, bean sprouts and eggs were concentrated with the sauce's taste . The eggs however were position at the bottom and thus became overly sauced and thus made it very salty. Not a bad dish generally but I personally love the fried turnip in lkf more. It was absolutely amazing, crispy outside and a soft creamy inside..

6) Coconut Rice $20
I expected a yellowish coloured rice, yet the rice came to us in pure white. The texture of the rice were overly soft and was rather meshy. However, the taste was good. It had a strong coconut taste, and even if you paired it with the curry, the coconut flavour could still be tasted.

I didn't know what the authentic taste of Malaysian is, all I knew was Sabah offers really nice dishes. I would definitely come back to try their laksa and deep fried banana later.

街完書展, 筋疲力盡...點知仲要等咁耐, 企街等, 環境的確麻麻 (好多人都係行完書展過黎食!)入到去先知, 原來係老闆用心良苦。兩位的食客都係坐4人枱! 食物上得容易d, 人都坐得舒服d!!! (即刻記得頭先等得好苦)肉骨茶 ($68)以前未食過, 所以無得比較。 藥材味濃, 暖下個餓左好耐的胃, 呼~~好味~油酥餅 ($22)好味! 烘得岩岩好, 又唔油, 不過得一塊, 貴左d...老闆可能見我地無叫咖哩, 醒目咁送上咖哩汁, 真窩心 (誇張左...)亞參喇沙 ($68)因為之前皮膚敏感, 唔敢叫海鮮喇沙。 亞參喇沙响新加坡好似好出名, 咁就試下啦...點知....好酸好辣...同普通喇沙好唔同...(可能星馬人口味啦) .......好後悔...早知唔叫ar sam....同侍應姐姐傾計, 佢話: "係薑花, 香料黎ga, 唔會有事。"P.S. 侍應們都好有禮, 仲不停加水。炸香蕉 ($28)好抵食! 炸左香蕉, 再加D椰絲, 沙糖。整體係好食, 唔知係咪我地唔識食.... 見到好多人叫D野都同我地唔同

好味! 烘得岩岩好, 又唔油, 不過得一塊, 貴左d...

老闆可能見我地無叫咖哩, 醒目咁送上咖哩汁, 真窩心 (誇張左...)
亞參喇沙 ($68)
因為之前皮膚敏感, 唔敢叫海鮮喇沙。
亞參喇沙响新加坡好似好出名, 咁就試下啦...
點知....

好酸好辣...同普通喇沙好唔同...
(可能星馬人口味啦) .......好後悔...早知唔叫ar sam....

同舊同事食飯聚一聚佢地去書展,放工出去join佢地,around 6:00pm入去,唔駛等侍應都幾nice,食物質素幾好,比一般星馬餐廳偏貴少少沙嗲雞牛串燒、 炸蝦餅、馬來咖喱羊、油鬆餅、海鮮喇沙、馬拉盞通菜、棷青、珍多冰不過好好味﹗走時8點,門口還有幾個人等緊位

6.30 pm 路過見到無人等位, 而店入面都有位剩.. 因為等緊人, 所以當時無入到去啦, 結果 7 pm 行番去.. 見到有 10 個 8 個等緊位.. 聽到大約等半個鐘坐低即落 order, 個 waitress 好好笑容, 仲介紹我地最出名係巴東牛肉, 之後望到印度廚師係到搓餠同飛餠.. haha.. 等左 5-8 mins d 食物就送上台嚕~ 巴東牛肉 - 牛肉切粒, 一碟有 10 幾粒, 肉質腍, 而且入味..油鬆餠 - 得一塊, 兩個人唔太夠分 lor>< 配巴東牛肉超正啊...印度炒面 - 配有魚片, 洋蔥, 芽菜等..食落口好香呀, 唔太油膩..=]

粟米湯似平時飲開的粟米巾海鮮喇沙好香椰汁,個汁真係好正..如果辣D會更好味有2隻青口,幾隻蝦仔,豆卜,魚旦海南雞飯吾好意思,太為食影相之前食左絃啖飯!哈哈LUNCH既海南雞飯係冇海南雞豉油嫁..不過問佢拎就OK佢D醬汁同薑蓉都好好味! 平時吾時薑蓉既我都忍吾住要食油飯吾係太油,又夠味! 雞一D都吾肥所以都吾會太滑甜品吾知係咩黎既,味道都幾特別!應該係有落椰絲同馬豆下次一定要試油鬆餅,咖喱,肉骨茶 ^^
