We started with a quartet of appetizers: vegetarian goose (素鵝, deep-fried tofu skin), kaofu (烤麩, another tofu variant) with mushrooms, asparagus lettuce slices (萵筍) and deep-fried freshwater eel (炸鱔魚). We started with a quartet of appetizers: vegetarian goose (素鵝, deep-fried tofu skin), kaofu (烤麩, another tofu variant) with mushrooms, asparagus lettuce slices (萵筍) and deep-fried freshwater eel (炸鱔魚). These are all comfort food for me, and things that I'd order at any Shanghainese meal.

There was a request for smoked chicken (燻雞) so we ordered one. I thought it was deliciously sweet while the smoky flavors were kinda nice. The crab stir-fried with egg yolk and rice crispies (蛋黃鍋巴炒蟹) was really nice. The crab was covered with a layer of salty, mushy egg yolk, as were the blocks of rice crispies. This is a very classic Shanghainese preparation.

We had a large pot of chicken soup with wontons (雞湯餛飩) - again a classic Shanghainese dish. I liked the wontons because they were a bit different - flatter than normal and a bit like the Taiwanese variety (扁食).

I ate very little of the sweet and sour fish (松子魚) because it really isn't my favorite. I must admit that the execution here was pretty good, even though I always found the dish to be very "gweilo/angmo." Instead I chose to save my stomach for some stir-fried leaf amaranth (清炒莧菜).

We then had a series of savory dim sums that loaded us up with carbs. First there was the deep-fried scallion cake (炸蔥油餅), which was of the chubby variety (instead of the flat, pancake-like variety.) This was deeped to be overly salty and therefore inedible, and was sent back to the kitchen. We got some homestyle pancakes (家常薄餅) as replacement, which were much more to my tastes.

There was also a basket of xiao long bao (小籠包, steamed pork buns). These looked really good, with the skins being very thin and the interior filled with natural juice from the pork. I said "looked really good" instead of "tasted really good" because I didn't have one. Someone (who shall remain nameless) decided to have two of these wonderful things, thereby depriving me of one in the process. Oh well...

The puff pastry stuffed with turnip (蘿蔔絲餅) was excellent. The exterior was perfectly crispy, while the shredded turnip inside were moist and not too salty. The pan-fried potstickers (鍋貼) were pretty good, again with good amount of juice sealed inside.

I think the bunch of dim sums really put us over the edge, so that we were too stuffed to have dessert. But I was happy...and glad to have gone back "home."

小籠包和鼎泰豐相比, 只是鼎泰豐的肉較淋, 這裏的肉汁都夠最差是個雅敍炒飯, 冇特式主要是蝦炒飯仲要成$100, 至於服務,覺得最差是,當在繁忙時間, ''你想找人加茶, 點菜'', 佢地好多員工都是低下頭行路, 好難令佢地望到你 另外一個菜叫' 香糯肉'' $70 有2件, 其實這2件一定夠4人食用大致上其他菜味道OK有東亞卡有九折, 但唔記得是金卡定白金卡

i frequent this place for its executive lunch set. u gotta order 2 appetizer, 2 main, served with soup of the day, rice plus dessert. it's a vry cozy place. Tables r arranged with comfortable spacing. kind of a luxury itself in the busy noisy Wan Chai area.my all-time favy is actually 香糯肉. it's usually my additional order on top of the executive lunch set. i luv the lotus flavour in the sticky rice. it's THE dish of Lu Yuan Pavilion. i also like: 燻蛋, 醉雞, 獅子頭, 賽旁蟹. they may not b the best in town

零八年九月下旬要Update市況,約了行家到附近Happy Hr,一杯Tequila下肚,結果要來這裡吃些澱粉質傾埋下半段。比起所剩無幾的老牌滬菜館,環境方面稱得上是「雅敘」的好地方,尤其是近窗的卡位,放下重型行理空間仍鬆動。肚在嚦咕著,快手叫下開揚蔥油拌麵,朋友要了燻蛋,再來一支甜到死的黃酒。燻蛋先來,燻蛋泛著茶燻成的亮澤,連蛋白亦滲著濃濃燻,溏心滲出濃膩鴨蛋香,在燻香相伴下立時回魂。開揚蔥油拌麵賣相精緻,上海白麵舖上大量香而不濃的蔥絲,白麵細滑拌起蔥與甜醬油勻和的蔥油汁,再加上細粒河蝦米烘後帶出的濃鮮味,既有油香亦帶應有濃甜,而蔥絲炸得香透,令麵條變得更香更美味。一支酒兩味小菜,閒坐兩句鐘,店員亦沒因此白眼,配套加上環境是店如其名的雅敘;行家嫌麵條與黃酒都太甜,這裡中西日的雞尾酒都有,誰叫妳揀黃酒?

雅致的裝潢,賣的卻是老派滬菜味道(兩年前的相,佈置上與今天無異)。

每逢想吃上海菜都會想起*留園雅敘*我特別喜歡坐卡位自成一角又不怕太嘈吵。。。這天和朋友吃午餐點了2人"商務午餐" $198有湯(青、紅蘿蔔)冷盤 2 款---四季豆素雞。味道清淡、燻魚。很惹味。多骨熱炒 2 款---蝦仁豆腐。鮮嫩幼滑、咸蛋窩巴。咸味適中糖水----雪耳紅棗糖水。。。本來包括白飯侍應生沒有端來我們亦忘記了哈哈!!其實我們另外再點了抄手及高力豆沙肚子已經填得滿滿喔

唔洗講, 想在灣仔食正宗的上海野又要坐得舒舒服服, 首選留園!和老豆洗塵, 來了這裡.班機遲了的關係, 來到已8點9, 餓到爆, 但上到來仍滿坐的!"隊"了成碟前菜先 正~小食有幾碟細的, 全都係剛弄起即上檯的, 食得出的新鮮好味, 炸的唔油又夠脆, 醉雞又勁入味, 好鬼香.瓜夠爽, 我一人食了半碟呢.獅子頭略油, 預左, 有兩舊, 熱辣辣, 正, 撈了唔少飯.小籠包來不及影相, 8粒已食晒, 可知幾正.但真的要小心內的湯呢, 小弟燙親了賽旁蟹又是另一推薦的菜色, 又係超熱, 又再燙親個口 有不少蟹肉.蛋黃係上檯才在你面前撈埋的, 一流.服務非常好.第一次一餐被燙親兩次, 都算係個紀錄啦

前幾日同老公一齊去食e間餐廳, 都系抱住試下無難既心態去試, eee....點知, 都吾錯喎, 幾好, 系一間可以去開飯既餐廳. 環境靜, 又有卡位坐幾好(不過可能訂位會好d). 我地兩人食左薰蛋, 蒜泥白肉(好正), 小籠包(一般), 清炒蝦仁(老公話好正),白葉青菜(好青甜) , 楊技金露(老公話正), 貴花湯丸(勁甜, 麻麻).

這店本來是我同學的飯堂, 但近年佢不來了,話轉了師傅。結果中學同學聚會又再嚟過。五人坐靠窗卡位 --> 舒服點了薰蛋 - OK, 但吃過別的更好糖醋排骨 - 一般醋溜魚片 - 唔錯, 夏天食幾爽蘿蔔絲酥餅 - 表面幾脆, 但利苑更好食麵鼓炒A菜 - OK八寶飯 - 最有特色, 一大片飯焦卜卜脆, 面頭有各種八寶配料及酒上沙糖, 是有點甜, 但我也吃了兩份壽包- 好吃還有一,兩味, 但忘了

再到灣仔"留園雅聚"吃晚飯雖然去過 N 咁多次但間中都會選擇去呢度聚會特別喜歡訂卡位, 因為比較靜但覺得冷氣超凍, 茶很快就涼了職員態度友善還會推介一些特別的菜式這裡還我的至愛。高力豆沙餡料係豆沙及香蕉yummmmmy

公司farewell lunch,有人提議呢度,一入去環境好優雅cozy,我o地一行16人基本上叫晒佢地o既set lunch,出乎意料地好食呀!薰魚好濃唔太硬,賽磅蟹蛋花白滑剔透,炒肉粒好香入口爽,個青紅蘿蔔湯仲冇咩味精有home made feel,係最尾個木瓜糖水太甜太傑失o左分。整體感覺良好,下次會叫屋企人去。

六月八日 (星期日)星期日家庭樂, 打算一家五口出街食晚飯唔記得邊個題議去 "留園雅敘", 不過係我負責打電話去留檯留檯時個 receptionist 已經講明話張檯近門口 (幾好, 講定先費事到時先抝)反正嗰度地方已經唔算大, 心諗無所謂啦.去到時見到張檯嘅位置唔太差, 近門口冇乜嘢, 有張直頭擺正起門口~一家人去食上海菜已經食過無數次, 所以都係叫個四人餐, 再加幾樣心水嘢就算. (費事諗)其中一樣心水嘢係呢道嘅 "芝麻餅", 事關個餅要時間焗, 所以一坐底茶都未叫已經叫咗餅先之後叫完個四人餐時, 侍應見我哋五個人, 就自動話將我哋嘅包、餃由四隻加至五隻. 之後叫完個四人餐時, 侍應見我哋五個人, 就自動話將我哋嘅包、餃由四隻加至五隻. (駛唔駛加錢一件事, 起碼感覺貼心先)

Unlike its noisy counterparts, this restaurant is quiet, tastefully decorated and the booths are situated next to glass windows with louved blinds and faces a tree-lined view. Service is very attentive and waiters are pleasant and knowledgable about their food. (especially when you speak to them in Shanghainese).

The best thing is the food quality. The Xiaolongbao is meaty and juicy with lots of soup, swimming in a thin springy translucent skin. The Guobai (a Shanghai vegetable, i think that has a texture that is a cross between eggplant and winter shoots) is delicately done in sweetened sticky dark soy sauce. The glutinous dumplings with pork belly meat is very decadent and melts in your mouth. Some other people would also recommend the smoked eggs but I didn't think it was anything too special. The small fried 黄花鱼 was light and crispy and tasted tender and fresh. Dessert was 酒酿汤圆。 This was very well done to perfection with just the right amount of 桂花and not too sweet. Overall, very pleasant experience.In my personal opinion, this is definitely the best Shanghainese restaurant , compared to Ningbo Association, Xiao nan Guo, Green Willow etc.

Definitely recommended especially for those who are seeking to have a authentic Chinese meal without the loud yapping next table.

一行四個女仔晚餐, 個個話肥諗住只食少少點心.點知每來一樣都叫人食指大動, 不停加碼最後食左十幾碟.同行上海鬼婆一個人食左三邊燻蛋仍意尤未盡.仲話下次黎香港一定要再食過. 服!

午餐...選了這裡..頭盤都是叫了一些大路些的素鵝和蔥油海蜇,味道很好!蜜汁火舫是用饅頭夾著熱辣辣的蜜汁火腿和一片烤得香脆的燒肉皮而成!好有特色呢!黃花魚是烤的,很鮮甜,不會腥,都是不錯的選擇呢!最後食埋甜品高力豆沙,很滿意的一餐!
