right after we had place our orders, the waiter brought up a basket a bread. one was SOOO good that it reminded me of the croissant at Robuchon. It was round and had a pleasantly strong smell of butter =)
and here comes the appetizer - Crab Salad with Black Truffle: everything was well chosen, with crab meat and fat being the 'heavier' ingredients and lettuce, cucumber dices freshening the dish up!
i've ordered Atlantic Sturgeon with pasta... hm... the fish was ok, i guess i would actually preferred to have Halibut instead. The pasta was fine, it was a bit heavy though.
so for the long awaited dessert, there were several options - strawberry tart, chestnut tart, a chocolate cake (which looked really fattening), a salad with mixed berries, a cake made with rum... i chose strawberry tart in the end. It tasted SOO good, which made me think that the strawberries were imported from Japan. A tiny flaw of the dessert would be its presentation. Since the waiter would only cut up the big tart after you've ordered, so it was not decorated very delicately... some strawberries were falling off from the tart...
haha... but the petit four was AWESOME... definitely awesome... there were dark chocolate sticks, mini tarte au citron, mini tarte aux fraises, some chocolates and other mini delights...
the set came with a glass of house wine and tea/coffee.
ambience... tables were not situated widely apart... It was a bit noisy... and the dress code was not well followed, i saw a few people with sportshoes... and the waiter even told us they had changed their policies so children under the age of 12 could now go to Petrus.
overall, i had a voluptuous meal and this will certainly not my first-and-last time dining at Petrus =)
