Dinner for 2 on a Tuesday evening with reservations.
My brother was visiting so we decided to slurge on a hotel buffet with seafood. I'm very happy we decided to eat at Interconential Hotel. Every part of the buffet was beautifully presented, delicious and excellent. The atmosphere was great and orginally our table was under the main staircase but after a request, the hostesses were able to move us.
Included is one free glass of wine/beer/juice to begin with... or you pay extra for free flow.
The starting section had 5 types of cheese, 4 types of bread, fresh salad bar with many selection of salad dressings. Seafood section had chilled Boston lobster, scallops, muscles, large crabs, squid. Sushi bar (i don't eat raw fish) had different types of sashami and veg ready-made sushi. I was a bit disappointed in how tiny the sushi section was. Meats were spare ribs, steak, bbq roasted pork, chicken, duck, lamb, fois gras. Escargots, steamed fish in red wine sauce, two types of dimsum, crab cakes. The desert section was HUGE and i wanted to try everything but was really full after the mains. A big selection of cakes. Macroons, cakes of different flavours, little tarts, Chinese and Western deserts included.
Overall i had a great experience, the food was excellent, ambiance great and the service attentive. i would def come back here again for the food however the price is very expensive ($950HK) and almost no local HKer i know would come for this price. I would recommend it for a special night out.
