We arrived slightly before the peak dinner hour and needn't have to wait for a table. But the restaurant's ground floor filled up very quickly.Basically, Loyal Dining is a pimped up Char Chan Teng. Basically, Loyal Dining is a pimped up Char Chan Teng. Pimped up in decor and pimped up in price. Its interiors evokes the colonial era of wood panelling, stained glass and black & white mosaic floors. Waiters are decked in bow ties, vests and aprons. The food however isn't much to wow at. You get your usual char chan teng sort of quality. Sure it has some interesting items on the menu and the presentation isn't bad either. But the skills of the chef does not justify the cost. So essentially, you are paying for the decor and the location. Great for first timers to Hong Kong, trying out char chan teng food and posting pictures of interesting looking plates in quaint restaurants for your facebook profile.

Otherwise, stick with your favourite char chan teng

Very terrible service. We just need some water but we had to wait for around 10 minues. I was very puzzled why there are so many waiters in this restaurant but none of them can do it. I thought because we didn't order some drinks beside water. Finally, we ordered a cescar salad and rice with steamed pork chop. The cescar salad which is costed $78 but only a few vegetables and a few tiny beacons. It's not worth to go again.

Ok, I arrived anyway. Once I stepped in, there's at least 6 people waiting. I approached the staff and he asked 'what's your surname?'
I said,'Cheung, and table for 3.' He marked it down.
Surprisingly, he didn't give any number card/paper to the customers. We all near to wait and hear our surname to be called carefully.

The staff called the customer one by one. I remembered there was five customers' surname before me.
He didn't call my surname.

Time passed, after 25 minutes, I was still standing there but the people entering later than me all were seated.
I looked at the list, I think he has written me as the wrong surname (don't know if he didn't know how to spell/ didn't hear well).

I was so angry, but... I was still very patient and asked if there was any mistake. Another staff said it was near my turn as I needed 3 seats.
At last, nearly 10 tables after me got seated except me.
I couldn't held and said 'Miss, I think your staff has mis-written my surname! All the people got seated except me!'
She insisted as I needed 3 seats. But after I complained, she suddenly said 'there's a table now.'

I think the waiting system has some problem. It is better to give a number to the customers as sometimes it is very hard for the staff to hear clearly (there are lots of customers and it is VERY VERY noisy there) Secondly, there maybe two person having the same surname.

Ok, continue... we ordered
來佬汁炒牛河 and baked pork chop rice.
After a few minutes, the waiter gave us pork chop with a plate of plain rice. I said it was not my order... so we need to wait again...

來佬汁炒牛河 is fine, not too oily.
腐乳砂糖多士 not as good as it seems to be.
nothing special except it is extremely hot.

I think I have tried their food already, no need to come back because of disappointing service and the very noisy environment... we sat on the second floor, all the customers are chatting noisily as the area is too small. My friend and I nearly need to shout out our words to communicate.

廣告出街的前一天試了當然要吃招牌菜炒河, 雞翼同腐乳多士炒河, 味不特別, 亦欠炒野的靈魂-鑊氣雞翼, 李kum記豉油雞汁煮雞翼, 很有老媽子的影子, 可能在家吃太多了, 真的不想再吃這種豉油雞汁味了, 而且價錢亦不算便宜...腐乳多士, 以腐乳多士來說, 是不錯, 找對了咸甜之間的平衡, 比之前在其他店吃的都好btw, 廣告想把餐廳拍得很懷舊老港感覺, 親身來吃一次就會知...其實是有些出入的

是晚特意約朋友到來一試, 是大家第一次光顧這裡, 對於此店的名聲略有所聞, 真的有點期望!!雞翼大大隻, 非常好肉, 當然最重要的是汁醃得夠時間, 原全滲透至裡面, 由外皮至肉及骨, 均有味道, 所以汁及醃製時間是最關鍵的呢, 簡單的小吃, 要好吃說難不難, 但亦不易, 果然有料!!!!這生菜包看似普通貨色, 但入口非常香口, 加上松子, 既爽又香, 真是絕配, 雖然吃不出有乳鴿的味道, 但整個餸真的是美味得很.....看似份量不大碟, 配以六至七塊生菜, 剛剛好! 香氣撲鼻的松露原來配入炒飯一樣合襯! 雖然又是吃不出乳鴿的味道, 但整個飯炒得夠乾身, 味道很香證明夠鑊氣! 而飯便是一粒粒炒得分明, 非常美味!! 絕不馬虎的一個炒飯!! 職員尚算夠反應夠效率, 態度還可以, 可惜座位真的不理想, 太密太不舒服, 完全將左右兩枱客人的對話聽了進耳, 自己卻不能跟其他人鬥大聲, 有點難過的一個小時呢.... 反正下次訂位吧, 希望會被安排好一點...

這生菜包看似普通貨色, 但入口非常香口, 加上松子, 既爽又香, 真是絕配, 雖然吃不出有乳鴿的味道, 但整個餸真的是美味得很.....看似份量不大碟, 配以六至七塊生菜, 剛剛好!

睇咗3色台個節目之後, 去試吓! 發覺...(1) 個"Wellington 66" 真係麻麻 (如果呢個$ 食倒啲得個樣嘅食物), 我會俾多啲$去第二度食好啲lu 或者去啲老牌餐廳食更有feel。其他扒餐都一般。(2) 個"蝦多士" 應該叫"油浸蝦多士"啦!! (3) ok 啲都係個"瑞士汁乳鴿", "紅燒"就唔夠香。真係冇得同出名嗰啲比。(4) 個"梳孚里" 都夠賣相, but 小妹食過老牌嗰個, 會覺得香好多。真係唔好信啲 magazine and TV program!!

食物quality不俗... 喺個炒飯用類似珍珠米,所以口感就怪怪地. the rest are ok.but可以好d,成$70-100個碟頭飯... 大把選擇唔一定要去呢度.

Overall, 唔差但有進步空間. 番去機會不大.

P.S. 太黑同太耐冇心機影相.

果然是健康套餐!

兩份午餐共享大家同意試試中式點心套餐B和炒飯,餐館點心出品會如何?有待觀之!我必點西洋焗飯套餐,為什麼?原因是有我喜歡的陽光焗豬扒飯

三款點心分別是水晶鮮蝦餃、乾蒸牛肉、來佬菠菜餃,看見食物脹卜卜的賣相似乎很不錯,先吃綠色來佬菠菜餃,外皮口感乾身粘牙而且皮做得厚,綠色的皮淡而無味可知餡中混合的菠菜和蝦味道較淡,健康角度來說是很好,少油少味!再吃蝦餃看看怎樣?嗯,薄層外皮蝦餃汁多彈牙很好味,相比剛才菠菜餃絕對是勝利者!乾蒸牛肉最後放棄沒吃,所以不作評論!

坊間吃到的蛋炒飯有揚州炒飯,福建炒飯,雜錦炒飯,鴛鴦炒飯等等,新派酒樓及餐廳會加入西式食材做出特色創意炒飯為食客帶來新鮮感,例如:鵝肝炒飯,和牛炒飯.....這個瑤柱蛋白菜粒炒飯應是屬於新派,現今港人注重健康,雞蛋除去蛋黃只用蛋白炒飯做法感覺較健康也很流行不少酒家亦材用,我覺得要吃的蛋香可口炒飯對於沒有加入蛋黃始終不及有加入那種好!言歸正傳,套餐~瑤柱蛋白菜粒炒飯雖然顆粒分明,粒粒鬆散,卻欠缺軟硬有度,而且色彩不夠豐富,材料和味道同樣有大進步空間!

焗飯套餐附有餐包是鬆軟微熱,問題在於忌廉湯上,攪拌湯時只有幾粒粟米質感較稀,味如水,喝不到半碗要放棄!

陽光焗豬扒飯是有太陽蛋在焗飯上取而其名賣相是不錯,但是吃上硬實太陽蛋....將焦點放回焗豬上,幸好炸過豬扒肉腍有汁甚為美味是整頓飯裡最好的,若果焗汁調配可以令茄味濃和放多些更好!焗豬扒飯幾乎每間西餐廳都有,要勝人一籌必須花些功夫及心機!

一點多到達,餐廳全院滿座,但等了幾分鐘就能於二樓卡座坐下.梳化相當舒服,不過樓底矮,聲音都困住了,環境吵耳.週末除了主餐牌還有假日午市點心餐供應,對一段時間沒飲過茶的我相當吸引!

侍應多是青年人,充滿活力和熱誠,但也有少見的禮貌,餐廳的職前訓練成效相當不錯!

落單不久,腐乳沙糖來佬厚多士($15)先到.上次到訪已嘗過多士,覺得厚是夠厚,麵包也軟滑,但烘得不足.這次特別要烘燶,但依舊是白雪雪一片.腐乳塗了薄薄一層,沙糖已經溶掉,所以賣相沒有在港土茶記的那麼好.麵包的確是烘得不足,質感似蛋糕多於一切,但麥味很淡.腐乳和沙糖份量都很少,其實可以放膽多落一點,現在咸甜味都只得半桶水.前天吃過那一片雖然太硬,但味道比這個惹味得多!

再來的窩蛋免治牛飯($72),是傳統的港式西餐,也勾起兩代人的童年回憶.這天點來一試,風味卻已大不同.牛肉伴有番茄和芥蘭粒,口感爽脆的相當豐富,但調味偏甜,和記憶中以生抽老抽調味的老港味道有出入.相比之下,上環的香港餐室的食物普遍不好,唯獨是父親常常稱讚的手剁窩蛋窩蛋免治牛飯,無論做法和食味都是正宗的港式味道,遠比這個好吃.可惜餐廳已於月前靜悄悄結業,未能重溫那記憶中的好味道.

法蘭西多士($28),又一本地化西餐代表作.這裡麵包切得厚,西多也是正常兩倍高,是漂亮的金黃色,質地也鬆軟.麵包吸收了糖醬和牛油,加上夾著花生醬,好滋味!雖然已算煎炸得乾身,卻還是邪惡非常.三人分享還勉強能吃完,兩人行甚至獨行,最好避免點這重量給甜吃,避免造成浪費!

來佬汁炒牛河($75)押上餐廳名字,應該是信心之作.果然,條條河粉炒得分明,也有米香,不油膩又有鑊氣;沾上的來佬汁味道不算非常甜,滿有沉實的咸鮮,非常不錯.可惜是那牛肉質感奇怪,明顯是經梳打處理,所以肉味盡失,令牛河失色不少.這一點港土茶記做得不錯,牛肉真的有牛肉味,雖然河粉和炒功都以來佬遠為出色.

點了的假日午市點心餐($42),卻是等了又等還未來,三催四請才送上.套餐有三款,先問點心配搭可否自由調換?答案是不可,也就要了個最順眼的c餐.大蒸籠裡有叉燒飽和來佬菠菜餃,另碟上鮮竹腐皮卷,全部各有兩件,份量不少.

鮮竹腐皮卷新鮮熱辣炸好,腐皮薄身但偏硬,如果酥脆點會更好.餡料有冬菇等素菜,調味甚解,非常惹味,不用點喼汁已美味非常.

叉燒飽只有正常一半大小,飽身相當鬆軟又輕怡,味道微甜,和傳統的厚實質感不同卻是非常討好.蜜汁叉燒餡也是甜咸適中,蜜甜濃郁但不涸喉,也不會咸得令人不停喝水,個人非常喜歡.加上個子不大,一人吃一個也不會很飽.很久未吃過如此合心水的叉燒飽了!

菠菜餃是健康的墨綠色,餃皮太黏身,滿滿包裹著以麻油煮過的菠菜餡,所以非常香濃,而且沒有了菠菜那惱人的’鞋’口質感,要是餃皮可以乾身點就更加清爽了!

結帳付錢,也只是九十多一個人,在中環算非常經濟實惠!前後吃了兩次,感覺這裡的點心確是不錯,要是哪天想不到去哪裡吃飯,又或者你想吃點中式,我卻想用刀叉,來佬餐館確是個好選擇,也抵吃.但如果要吃多士等傳統茶餐廳食品飲品,好像還是對面那間比較合心;淨吃點心的話,還是去附近幾間傳統茶室較好..

原本想點一個鵝肝充闊佬焗飯,得知售罄之後,其餘雙傻卻不想點吃其招牌的焗豬扒飯,最後用上一大堆藉口,其中一傻見有韭黃肉絲炒麵,說是得知餐廳水準的考牌餸,倒不如說他想吃才是心底話.......結果上桌時果真有驚喜,因為芡汁與麵底原來分開奉上,仿如兩麵黃般炸得兩面香脆,如果可晾乾一點油,印象可會更佳。

另一個傻佬是不太吃牛的,為了遷就他,唯有點了一碟咕嚕肉,今次變作一隻「出事鳥」,炸得外層一點也不香脆,更遑論甚麼鎖死肉汁的Juicy之感,七十八元的一碟東西,和坊間比較,只屬一般的水準,期間竟然吃出一點「魚味」,豬肉有魚味?! 推考之下,應是炸粉漿上出了問題的緣故吧!

打後再上一碟招牌的來佬汁炒牛河,這裡的來佬汁,說穿了不外是「瑞士」的風格,整體來說可弄得不炒,炒得甚為均勻,油膩度亦不算重,每一條河粉算也是爽口入味,味道來說,濃濃的醬油味中也是偏向一點甜香,用的牛肉極為嫩滑,更沒有沾上梳打粉的「惡習」,唯鑊氣度有所不足。

"你成日掛著影相,同一碟要來四至五幅,甚麼鑊氣都吹散啦!集中火力,影一幅就夠了。" 當見到隔離桌的同一碟炒河冒出煙氣之時,習慣用上單反機的傻佬二號「語重心長」地說。

人家瑞士雞翼弄到名滿食壇,自然要有相若的菜式,七十八元六隻的來佬汁雞翼,只用上雞中翼的部位,相信採用了即叫即滷的做法,表層已弄得色深入味,肉質上仍然不失嫩滑,期間更吃出一點肉汁在內,再談來佬汁的味道,仍以頭抽為主體,花椒八角等自然少不免,加了冰糖後的「瑞士」程度倒是恰到好處,整體印象甚佳,緦有一天,我會親自品嚐「原來版本」

最後來個焗蔬芙厘,由落單到上桌可要等上四十分鐘,即焗上桌之下來得熱燙十足,賣相得漲卜卜的,倒沒有過火焗焦的情況,撥開之下,不外是蛋白、砂糖及牛奶等組合,但質感實在滑溜,稍為甜了一點,傻佬一號更戲言吃出「鷹嘜煉奶」的味道,嘿,不能是壽星公嗎?

三位傻佬人共進食了一個小時以上,期間不包飲品,最後以四百廿元下樓,說貴是預定了,倒沒有心目中那麼肉赤,食物來說,廚房的水準可算不俗,也真呈現一點豉油西餐的風格,始終是「烤貝貓」,於原創性的層面,確是失了一點分數,勝在價錢合理,下次再來時,還是好好找個機會試到招牌焗飯。相對於競爭對手,這裡也設了中菜食譜及即蒸點心作另類招徠,看口評反應不算太佳,還是專主於一範好了。

最後我地決定餐飲,甜品同賣單3個動作同時進行。哈,好死唔死,張單就第1時間送黎要我地俾錢,仲要收加一,有冇搞錯?俾完錢成肚氣繼續等甜品,以為有乜咁巴閉,原來係羅拔臣jelly。配埋杯好似溝左10倍水既熱朱古力1齊食,真係俾你都唔好食。隔離檯既客人要凍檸茶,但唔俾糖水;再隔離檯要燒汁要左幾次,職員都係覆佢地「黑椒汁係咪?」死未?

冇下次,1定冇下次!有乜理由我臨走前仲聽到個經理鬧緊同1個問題?仲要係咁聽到佢同walkie入面既人講「唔好放人上黎喇,林檔喇」,真係全世界都知你地幾唔掂。搞好哂d service先開門做生意啦!每人2舊水食火落肚!有冇搞錯!

Having to linger in Central in the morning this month, I wanted to try some new breakfast places. Seeing this new restaurant across the street I decided to give it a try.

The first feeling was already great, as the place was well decorated as in the 50s but with a modern way of lighting design to spot up. At 9:30 it was packed with people, and lucky I got the second last table. The tidily dressed waiter presented the menu including 4 types of breakfast sets all at $30.

Since I did not feel like big pieces of meat I decided to go for the Chinese set, which came with the daily congee (they had two types for you to choose) and steam rice roll with your choice of filling (or Chinese fried noodles) with and tea or coffee. The waitress informed me that daily congee was Abalone with chicken – wow, I just thought to myself, the restaurant really wanted to impress customer.
The congee came in a nice new bowl, not so full though but hot and steamy. I tried one spoon - it was full of abalone and chicken taste well blended with the sweetness of rice congee. Excellent! Then came the rice roll with minced beef, it was a big dish, with 3 pieces, and the soy sauce served on the side. Merely this dish in any Chinese dim sum place in Central would worth $30+. I tried – the rice roll was very smooth, but a bit too soft and the minced beef quite oily. I could only have 2 pieces and had to leave the third. Still, good value for money.
I read the critics before some said the Hong Kong style milk tea was not good. But as of the day I tried it was even better than Chui Wah next door. The tea was strong and well balanced, and with the right amount of condensed milk. It was also real hot when being served. A real satisfactory breakfast!

It was so satisfactory that the place became my usual breakfast place in Central now. I had tried almost all of its breakfast set in the past 3 weeks and all of them were so fulfilling. On top of all, I love most that they serve customers with their heart and attend to every detail – let customers take the best available seat, serving drinking water, carefully set table, big soft napkins, daily little reminder card on table, luxuriously clean restroom with Andreas toilet roll… you can see the compassion of the place. Thank you, Loyal! You have made my day!

Last Sunday evening, 4 of us (2 adults + 2 kids) went there for dinner. My husband noticed this new restaurant from newspaper's recommendation... and therefore we decided to give it a try.We were seated at the 2nd floor (top level). The place was not full yet. We found the place is 'freezing'... and therefore we asked if we can change to another table. (better... at least the wind not blowing straight to us) After seated, we decided to order a Chicken Wing set for 2 which shared by our kids

Last Sunday evening, 4 of us (2 adults + 2 kids) went there for dinner. My husband noticed this new restaurant from newspaper's recommendation... and therefore we decided to give it a try.

We were seated at the 2nd floor (top level). The place was not full yet. We found the place is 'freezing'...
and therefore we asked if we can change to another table. (better... at least the wind not blowing straight to us) After seated, we decided to order a Chicken Wing set for 2 which shared by our kids. My husband ordered the mixed grill in sizzling plate set and I had the chicken rice in white sauce. Since the kids would love to try the Soufflé, we checked with the waiter that the cooking time would require 30 to 40 mins. Therefore, we ordered at the beginning too.

After a while, the soups come with the chicken wing set came first. It were served with bread.. but no butter!... since the kids were fine, we didn't bother to ask for some. Then, rice (which come with the Chicken Wing set) came too! (...So fast !!!). However, the soup which come with the mixed grill set not even served... until after the main course! (Unbelivable!!!) Every dishes were served so fast... and our table was not able to accommodate! Suddenly, the Soufflé was served too!... That's really bad... the waiter just said it's ready to serve... regardless that he noticed we had not yet finished our food!


The service was bad (not sure if that's because of lacking is staff ...!), we kept asking for plates, bowls, cutlery... anyway... the worst part came. After we finished the food, we ordered the drinks which come with the sets. We waited for almost 20 mins, nothing came. We asked another waiter to check.. and he told us that our order were not found in the system!!!
So, we repeated our order to him, and watched him to make sure he put into the system. Our kids started complaining again because it's really cold there. The waiter told us that this couldn't be adjusted... anyway... we still waited "patiently" for the drinks and desserts to come. After some time, we could see the drinks were ready outside the pre-serving area... just the waiter didn't want to serve !!! My husband asked him to bring over the drinks... so he was forced to bring them over. Again, after 10 mins, I can see the dessert were also ready there, NO ONE go there and pick them !!!!
I couldn't help to complain about this... how can a restaurant required the customers to tell the waiters that the food were ready to serve!!! NO service at all... The mananger came to apologize, but it's already too late.

The food not especially good, the place is freezing, the waiters not professional ... don't think we will come again!
