Be prepared for a fantastic dining experience. Whisk is upscale European fine-dining at The Mira's newly opened "Whisk" brought here by Singaporean 3 star Michelin Les Amis head chef Justin Quek.

The decor is exquisitely upscale European and has multiple private rooms for the more special gatherings with friends. The private rooms have a unique feel with an open view into the kitchen (one-way mirror so the chefs aren't looking at you dine!). It's almost like watching Hell's Kitchen while you're eating (minus all the cussing and it's quite fun to see them prepare your dishes!)

I'm no wine connoisseur but the bottle of Red (Cabernet Sauvignon) and White (Chardonnay) South African wines recommended to us was quite nice and pared well with our 5 course meal.

Onto the food.

1st course was a Mushroom Cappucinno soup which was just absolutely amazing. Heavily frothy, it's well balanced by the explosion of flavour that hits your palate from the first to the last spoonful.

The 2ndcourse - an appetiser - consisted of a duck foie grois paste and a baked oyster. The foei grois was eaten first and was quite a unique experience (and not like some dishes where 'unique' translates to weird - this one was one of my favorite dishes of the night). The baked oyster was quite good as well with bacon bits but not extremely special although it definitely met up to the quality standard of the rest of the night (apologies -no picture - I was hungry
).

The 3rd course was a shrimp and pasta dish, which from memory was quite good as well. Fresh shrimps, and the perfectly al dente pasta with a pesto sauce - although once again nothing too extremely special, but meets the quality standards of the rest of the meal.

The 4th course was definitely the highlight of the night. If you come here, you absolutely must try the Roast Suckling Pig. I mean, this dish is simply off the wall. When the dish is brought out, you can still hear the skin crackling, and when you cut off that first peice and place it in your mouth you get a bit of taste of heaven. I mean, from flavour, texture, temperature... everything about this peice of meat is perfect. The only regret is there wasn't more of it ! (although from the 3 previous courses, that was probably a good thing as I already had to loosen the belt a few times already!)

The final course was a raspberry sorbet with a flan-like yellow thing (forget what it was called) with some fruit. All in all a good way to finish off an excellent meal.

As a special order we also got some cupcakes special-ordered from The Mira cakeshop Coco (you can order in advance) as it was a friend's birthday. Lots of choices on the cupcakes and they were all very unique in its own right. Something I'd recommend you request as well - as it's a bit of a twist from the normal birthday cake.
