Vegan Caponata & Tofu Sandwich $58
First off, the ciabatta is very thin. This is good because it is super crisp but doesn’t scratch the roof of your mouth. However, I myself prefer thick slices of bread so this wasn’t memorable. But if you enjoy crunchy, thin bread on your sandwiches then this would be perfect.
The bottom slice is soaked with the tomato sauce which is absolutely delicious, the top part is soggy but the bottom remains crisp which I find inspiring.
The caponata is extremely tasty. The tomato sauce is rich and savory. The cubes of soft eggplant also compliment the bread. Absolutely love the spices used. The red and yellow bell pepper is very underwhelming. Not that seasoned but not soggy so it is decent.
The tofu is very depressing. It’s two thin slices (well pressed) firm tofu that is not only unseasoned but incongruous in the sandwich.
Other toppings included some acidic capers and a dressed arugula salad along with some fresh basil leaves. Very Sicilian.
In another note, the service is mmd. Yes there is water and utensils available but all need to be gathered yourself. The waitresses also seem to be standing around a lot, not really doing anything 🥲 but they don’t require service charge so that’s acceptable. Moreover, the tables are really close together which can make the experience slightly uncomfortable.

Multigrain Sourdough Bread $36
Also got this loaf of bread to see if their signature sourdough bread is good.
This bread definitely lacks the distinct sourness in more artisanal sourdough loaves. The taste of multigrain is prominent throughout though. Moreover, the ear broke off and became this seeded crisp. The bread also tasted buttery which was very confusing 🧐
The taste overall reminds me of yeasted breads and I highly recommend getting Bakehouse’s multigrain seeded loaf for $32. However, Bakehouse’s is less round and tall (perhaps due to a higher hydration).

💬 Overall, not a bad sandwich but doesn’t live up to the hype (maybe I ordered the wrong one but it was pretty popular too) you can get a bigger sandwich at the Great Food Hall in Pacific place for a better price.
