開業都一段時間,毀譽參半,不談炭火燒質素如何,這英倫風格的西日爐端燒店,也有著一定捧場客,由這裡的服務及配套,多少看到些端倪。

三時許,人不多Walk In的話也不難找到檯,當然帶位的小姐也會介紹Tea Time的特式,安坐落地玻璃,簡單的「Modern Japanese Christmas Dessert Platter」,八十八元,可「Hea」上半個下午,輕嚐越大洋而來的名氣,不貴了。

稍坐,甜品由男店員徐徐送來,七張檯由五位店員招呼,同樣是吃下午茶甜品,這裡招呼甚至比Zuma高籌。長陶碟盛著四色甜品、四式造型器皿,餐廳牌只粗略點出是四款是日精選甜品,摸不著頭腦,幸好店員清晰地由玻璃杯小品開始介紹,分別是香蕉焦糖布丁、朱古力慕絲、紫蘇葉青檸刨冰及法國杏仁餅。

由香蕉焦糖布丁開始,滑溜布丁伴上細切香蕉粒,再加上香濃焦糖醬,滑流口感與恰到好處的甜美都能嚐到,微微的果甜作High Light叫人回味。

再到很濃的朱古力慕絲,外層是焗得薄脆的朱古力醬,一點點的花生碎加強了口感,朱古力慕絲不算滑溜,帶味道甘濃,很老實的味兒。

兩味濃味甜點之後,也要些清新的點子來「透透氣」,以竹桶盛著的紫蘇葉青檸刨冰做得不錯,冰刨得薄碎,混合新鮮青檸汁,味道調校過,不會太嗆太酸,很開胃,味蕾都給喚醒了。

最後的法國杏仁餅,小巧的砂糖餅以綠葉包裝,串以竹纖,西日式的賣相,很精緻,口感結結實實,味道方面是得啖笑,怕「癡牙」的朋友還是敬而遠之吧。

放下百元埋單,簡單的體驗Roka獨特的包裝,也不錯,這裡的甜品做得認真,就算最不好吃的杏仁餅,看它精緻賣相,你也總不捨得大罵難吃,Roka,也真有他的一套,哈哈!

五點幾去到, 餐廳好大好多位, 主調係金黃色, 近門口有個大酒櫃貯左好多紅酒
只得幾枱客, 所以好靜好靜, 我地被安排坐係離吧台好遠好遠既各落, 自成一閣
menu睇都無睇就叫左一個4 Dessert Platter ($88), 兩個人share.
個set包咖啡/綠茶, 我地要左綠茶 (一壺)
綠茶好快就到, 不過甜品等左好耐, 印象中傾左好耐好耐好耐先到
4款甜品用一隻日式長碟盛住, 賣相好靚*

Fondant au Chocolat
即刻趁熱食左呢款先!!朱古力漿仲熱!! 好濃dark chocolate味, 幾好味
不過朱古力漿比例係大過朱古力蛋糕, 蛋糕只係薄薄咁圍住個碗邊同碗底,
而且蛋糕較濕, 成個甜品似食漿多d, 唔同平時食開既心太軟
最搞笑係面頭一粒粒既…係爆炸糖
!!!第一次食心太軟食到個口咁嘈,haha!!

Crème Brulee
一睇就知唔係crème brulee, 面頭唔係脆糖而係caramel sauce同香蕉粒
口感同味道都似caramel custard pudding, 但真係幾好味, 最好味係呢個!!
Custard好滑, 有微微雲呢拿香, 雲呢拿籽在底部清晰可見,
Caramel甜度適中帶些少澀, 好味* 再加埋香蕉粒變左香蕉味焦糖布丁, 真不錯
插住既其實係好薄好脆既春卷皮, 好好味=)

Green Apple Granite
其實係青蘋果冰冰, 食落偏酸, 青蘋果味唔突出, 覺得反而似青檸冰多d
不過感覺好清新, 冰塊如果可以幼細d會更好

Macarons
綠色係青檸, 黃色係熱情果
2件都好難食!! 皮脆, 質感煙韌, 有丁點杏仁味, 味道極怪!!!
綠色夾住酸夾心, 估係檸檬; 黃色夾住類似煉奶物體, 好甜好甜
我地完全食唔出咩味, 我返到屋企開電腦睇返個message先知究竟係咩味

其實對呢個platter期望過高, 有些少失望,
不過頭3樣甜品確實唔差, $96(連加一)係咁靚既環境收費算合理*
但結果收費係$100!!!
我俾一張一百蚊紙, 等個侍應找錢等左好耐好耐,
我懷疑侍應assume果4蚊零錢係貼士!!!一路都無找俾我!!!
佢唔係忙緊其他野唔記得找wo, 佢收左我錢無耐就出返黎企係度無野做啦,
我亦唔好意思追佢找返4蚊俾我(有d核突), 所以就決定唔等, 起身走人
雖然只係少少既4蚊, 但佢咁樣assume我俾貼士實在豈有此理

I heard so many exciting and good things about this restuarant previously. Yet, it is totally below my expectations after I tried.First of all, for the prices that they charge are not value for the money. I was there for lunch today and shared 2 business set lunch with 3 people. (total 4 people including me)The cost for each set is $288 not including the 10% service charge so that's around $300 a set.Each set included: 3 kinds of sashimi (2 pieces per kind) and asparagus avocado roll1 small vege/shrimp tempura1 miso soup1 small piece of grilled sea bass1 tomato appetizer1 dessertOverall the food was yummy, but it's WAY overpriced. I was there for lunch today and shared 2 business set lunch with 3 people. (total 4 people including me)

Overall the food was yummy, but it's WAY overpriced. Paying $170 per person, I would expect to be full when I walk out of the restaurant, but I wasn't. Mind you, I'm not a big eater.

I would rather spend this cost at Hiro Sushi. At least I would be full.
I would probably not go again as it's too expensive and there are a lot of other choices that are as good but more cost friendly.

We tried it last night. The overall opinion is too salty, is it the Japanese dishes characteristic?We tried鴨肉炒鳥冬- 有泡菜的色, 不太辣, 但很咸. We asked why is it so salty? The waitress said this dishes is cooked with 泡菜, so it is bit 辣 and also added sea salt, that why so 重味. She emphasised the cook is Japanese and the dishes is in Japanese style.We also tried鰻魚丼飯- 鰻魚 & 飯 很美味. 但那洋蔥配菜的味道, 真接受不了, 有醋味, 當然亦很咸.Service:The girls in the reception got no smile at all, however, the waitress insides are very nice an

睇d comment好似講到好差咁...咪同朋友膽粗粗去試SERVICE冇下面講得咁差,個waitress姐姐幾好禮貌,又介紹得唔錯但由於我地只係2個人既關係又食得唔多,so我地只係點左吞拿魚腩卷---細細件,但味道唔錯,大件少少仲好豬仔骨---好好味,個汁做得幾好,賣相幾靚鴨肉炒鳥冬---呢個真係好正,可能本身都幾鐘意泡菜o既味道,大家不妨一試(如喜歡辣的話)整體上都幾滿意,裝修都算ok,係d位窄左少少,價錢偏貴左少少,燈光唔好咁暗會好好多如果下次多d人一齊食就可以試多d,

其實亦睇過佢個dessert menu, 淨係得一個sake煮梨係日本甜品. 其他都係鬼佬甜品.

總結係: o甘o既價錢, 一定唔會再黎了. 野唔係好食係主要死因, 嘈+逼+上菜慢亦係原因.

同屋企人一行7人...一去到成個場都無乜人..裝修好好!!!都幾靜同幾舒服!食左好多野...比較特別既有..1. 海老銀鱈魚餃子有少少辣辣地..食落口都幾香口..2. 韓風燒羊肋骨本身我都麻麻地食羊..不過呢次入口好好又係有少少辣..但係無羊so味..所以好好味3. 串燒有牛肉,雞肉串燒...都烤得幾香口d sauce都唔錯既不過...最唔好既一樣野就係..茶又無水又無..乜都要俾錢..總括泥講..都係ok啦!!不過不失啦!!

一間令人極度失望既日本菜。價錢,有時唔係一個問題。性價比先至係。This restaurant serves up the worst bang for my buck. - Tofu – 木筒裝豆腐,滑但冇味,like non-sweet tofu pudding。配料有碎薑、蘿蔔蓉、蔥花、Wasabi, presentation有啲求其。

Service:
並唔算好,attentive doesn’t mean good service, 侍應對menu冇認識。我覺得唔serve green tea for free要扣分, because Japanese Cuisine is all about hospitality, 連茶都冇係咪待客之道?

言談間見到爐端燒有幾個老外厨師指指點點,唉~~ 外國人覺得有馬蹄就係中國菜,有Teriyaki Sauce就係日本菜……

Although I had read quite some mixed comments about ROKA since they opened, I decided to give it a try as I learnt that even the biggest tabloid’s revues do get it wrong sometimes.

So I made a booking last Friday Morning for a party of 4. By the time we arrived, a smiley receptionist greeted us before we even step in. At the desk, we were told that out table wasn’t ready yet. Before we even had time to digest this, we were already escorted to the cozy bar where we were offered a fresh cocktail in order to make up for the 3 minute waiting period for our table. We enjoyed that spot so much, that we then decided to order a few starters there and a bottle of wine.

Must say, have not seen such a reasonably prices white wine selection in a Japanese Restaurant before and mean I say reasonably priced, I also would like to say that the selection is stunning. All major wine regions are listed with some quite difficult to find bottles starting at as little as $ 300 per bottle.

After a good 45 minutes we then moved to our table in the middle of busy ROKA – not really a quiet restaurant but we were also not looking for one.

A young waitress approached us talked briefly about the menu and made a few recommendations we all decided to try – Rock Shrimp Tempura, Wagyu Beef Nigiri Zushi, Seared Tuna Tataki Salad and some great Porc and Scallop Dumplings.

Everything is straight forward, taste wonderful in itself and brings out wonderful flavors of great and intensive tastes.

Before moving to ROKA feature, which is an open Charcoal Grill in the Middle of the restaurant, we deiced to switch from wine to Sake and again, great surprise when it came to their calculations. Really good stuff at very very reasonable prices.

Although I heard that their Robata items sometimes tend to be burnt, we were proven so wrong. Our beef skewers were cooked to the point, no black marks at all and tasted just great. As one of my friend is a Vegetarian, we just ordered all of their grilled vegetables were most impressed with the tomatoes, the mushrooms and the the grilled tofu.

Also ordered some grilled squid which was amazing and some lamb chops. Didn’t enjoy the porc ribs too much personally but my friends did and that was most important.

Although different waiters came to our table all night long, the sweet waitress kind of lead us through our experience and explained our dishes attentively. In fact, kind of enjoyed that different people came to our table as this showed me that they are all talking the same language when it comes to service.

After our meal, we didn’t really want any desserts anymore a young European guy told us that ROKA desserts were a must. He made a funny comment that ROKA had a dessert with was ideal for us by saying: “If you don’t feel like having a dessert, have the Strawberry and Jasmine Sundae as you won’t feel like eating a dessert and also won’t be able to stop!” How could one believe in this so we tried and he was sooooo right about it. Best dessert I ever had in Hong Kong.

Would I go back? Absolutely.

Indeed, was happy to see that trying is better than listening to comments.

Tried this out on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Service was friendly and the staff are nice. No issues there. The food though leaves something to be desired for. We tried:Roka salad: so-so, supposed to be a lemon miso sauce but the miso is nowhere to be found. think of this as grilled vegetable with lemon juicegrilled chicken with plum and miso: the grilled chicken itself is so so. plenty of places in town offers bettere grilled chicken. it is not even moist. the sauce is so so as well

grilled pork with shrimp: the meat ball is quite moist inside and tender. not much taste to it. can't tasted the shrimp at all

grilled rice ball: shockingly poor. the reason you grill a rice ball is to get that nice crunchy texture outside. not only is this not crunchy, the sauce makes it wet outside. this one is really poor.

overall, the service is good but the food selection is not that great since there isn't anything that special on it. the quality of food varies from so-so to poor. definitely won't be back again.

1st, the price is quite expensive.. it is a little bit overpriced given it's overall quality... i think they charge quite some premium just for its Roka brand.. 2nd, service is extremely well.. i went there a few days ago.. a chinese speaking receptionist already smiling at us when we were approaching the restaurant from 20 meters away... and she got us seated quick and easy with good manner.. during the dinner, another chinese speaking waitress served us very very well... i can see that she was

2nd, service is extremely well.. i went there a few days ago.. a chinese speaking receptionist already smiling at us when we were approaching the restaurant from 20 meters away... and she got us seated quick and easy with good manner.. during the dinner, another chinese speaking waitress served us very very well... i can see that she was very busy the whole time but still managed to take care of us well.... and she also has some food suggestions when i was not asking her... so that's a good thing for a first time comer like me...

3rd food quality.. the food is better than i expected... the grill dishes are quite good.. the sushi and sashimi are just mediocre... it's not their expertise afterall... the cali. roll is quite badly made... and the sashimi is just like the quality in 'Yu 1 Ting' but of course more expensive..

one thing i am not happy is the beer is not cold enough... i think they should consider to fridge the beer glasses...

overall speaking... i had a good time there... so will go again definitely..

Tried their food twice but found that the price was not value for money. Need to spend more than HK$700 for a lunch of two people only. Understand Japanese food is expensive but didn't find their food quality was worth this kind of money. They really need to review their price position otherwise they will disappear soon. Rental of Paicifc Place is not cheap.

環境比食物吸引。最大問題是,串燒是唔太熱,因為佢地燒好後,會兜個大圈再送黎檯面,唔似其他串燒店,坐吧台咁會即刻送比你。同埋燒得太乾啦。
