雜菜天婦羅 $80 (一般 - 不是平常的鯛魚蘿蔔汁 - 有2樣汁, 醋味的頗酸, 另一樣不知名的濃醬料比較好味 - 裝菜用的平面滕架太平, 上枱菜已從炸物紙上掉出來, 夾左邊右邊又掉)

黑豬肉xx卷串燒 $70 (類似豬肉與菜mix成丸串燒, 味一般)

燒蘆筍 $65 (粗大種要開半的 - 一般)

韓式泡菜牛肉餃 $80 (4 小粒 - 味道同食7-11叮叮點心差唔多 - 叫多份反卷仲好過)

基本上這裡的菜式都是小份量如2-3串, 幾個女仔或1 pair 食ok.

連熱水或茶都不肯供應,只肯給冷的水喉水,而且拒絕的態度很差,接著還像是完全不想理會你的樣子走開了,從沒見過有這樣的餐廳午市定食/SET LUNCH也不好吃,炸豬扒飯的炸豬扒很乾很硬,炸雞飯也是很乾,很少汁,飯也不是很好吃的日本米,而且所謂定食SET LUNCH只有一那碗飯,根本不能算是一個定食/SET LUNCH,卻要$120-140,實在物非所值

每人要$250食一個沒有水準可言的午餐,絕對不值,可能是名牌效應,同場的Shiro比它好十倍。

OK. With that kind of price they charge, the food was OK to me at least. They were not that bad. But the service? You know we are all humans and we make mistakes, but it makes a BIG difference dependiing upon how we approach to make up the mistakes. A simple apology would have made me feel a little better, and if they can bnot do that, they should not charge that kind of ridiculously high prices!

Just read about this new rest. from magazine and tried it with some Japanese guests. Deco was nice and relaxing. Even though it was serving robatayaki, the ventilation was good and not much greasy smell. For the food, selection was rather limited and pricey. $110 for 6 pieces of mini soft-shell crab roll was at least 50% over-priced in same ranking rest. For service, it was really so so and substandard as per the standard for Pacific Place. No offer of water, not familar with menu, taking away dishes still with food etc. The worst thing was when I ordered to have the bill, the waitress came and put the bill in front of my face with half of her hand covered up the bill. I have to ask her two times that I could not see the amount in order to have her removing her hand!

Not problem for treating guests paid by company.

I was have a dinnar in roka with my family last night, it's a really nice new place. The service is better than macao one, but a few disappoint about the robata food. I am very sorry, the grill salmon is not cooked insade, have to use small fire cook slowly, the beef is not mediem well, cooked too much and it's burn.Actually i am not in rush time, so, be more attention in food cooking.sushi is no much special for me. very simple plate, no decoration. We had dinner at ROKA last night and it was very disappointing. The 5 of us ordered almost their entire selection of robatayaki, including yakitori, rice balls, chicken "soft-bones", mushroom, eggplant, tomatoes, lamb cutlets and cod; and I'm sorry to say that, apart from the cod, they were all very salty as almost all the skewers were covered in the same thick dark sauce!! We had dinner at ROKA last night and it was very disappointing.


The 5 of us ordered almost their entire selection of robatayaki, including yakitori, rice balls, chicken "soft-bones", mushroom, eggplant, tomatoes, lamb cutlets and cod; and I'm sorry to say that, apart from the cod, they were all very salty as almost all the skewers were covered in the same thick dark sauce!!


The rice balls were soggy, and the lamb, which another friend told me was great, was very ordinary.

To make things worse, most of the food were burnt (I mean really burnt) and the yakitori was almost 40% charred! We talked to the waitress about this and she quickly promised to make us another one, only for the same skewer to be served to us again by another waiter 45 seconds later.
After some more explanations and negotiations, the captain, who insisted that it was "their style" to serve over-burnt robatayaki, promised to make us a less charred one, which later turned out to be only marginally better.

The cod fish was the only dish to write home about. They served it with a sweet miso sauce flavoured with ginger and I also tasted a hint of yuzu .


Towards the end of the meal, we resorted to ordering the safer options on the menu, like yaki soba and roast pork udon. However, the yaki soba was another disappointment as it was extremely salty because they put too much sauce in it.

And almost somewhat to our surprise, the roast pork turned out to be a winner. Unlike the run-of-the-mill Japanese roast pork they would normally serve with noodles, the 4 pieces of prrk they served us were freshly roasted and put on top of the noodles.

When we asked for the bill, we were firstly presented with a bill with a total of just over $2,100. We pointed out to the waiter that we were charged 2 portions of the pork udon when we only had one, they duely revised the bill and 5 minutes later presented us with another bill totalling almost $2,200!? For some reasons, while trying to deduct the extra portion of pork udon off our bill, they managed to add another beef skewer to it!!

i like the atmosphere when you're sitting at the robata counter, the chefs will "wow" you

beverage- they serve quite a lot of red & white for a japanese restaurant, but i 've ordered one honey shochu, high alcoholic content but i like it!

my friend has ordered a mocktail called kawai-san, a normal mocktail for gal.

service- the service team is young and friendly, give reliable suggestions to the f&b items

overall is a nice meal experience, worth trying

Last sunday, after watching a flim with my girlfriend, we discovered that there is a new rest named Roka in PP, so we just went there and gave a trial.The receptionist is nice with smile and greet us immediately after we step in the restaurant. I was at Pacific place last nite with a friend and saw this new place. Since i like robatayaki and that's what they claimed they're serving, i gave it a try. The deco is nice and at the reception i saw there were biz cards saying they also have restaurant at London and somewhere else, so i figured it shouldn't be too bad.

Sat down and ordered the following:
- Roka grill salad ($68)
- Grill asparagus with sesame sauce ($4x)
- Grill egg plant with "7 taste powder" ($5x)
- Grill pork belly / ribs ($190)
- Red miso soup with seaweed and mushroom($5x)
- Fried udon with duck ($98)

The grill salad was ok and it was the first dish that came. After we started eating just for a min, the waiter came and placed the soup AND the udon down as if he's at a rush. Think it was awkward that they're serving the appetizer and the main (udon) at the same time but we didn't really care and kept going. Afterwards, all the remaining dishes came all at once and the table basically just went out of space... but i don't think the waiter cared too much.

As for the food, the miso soup is luke warm and taste as average as you can get. The duck blah blah blah udon taste like 五香肉丁抄烏冬 from a local 茶餐廳. The asparagus is over-grilled and not in robatayaki style, rather like a bbq style. Same for the eggplant, tasteless and not hot at all. As for the ribs.......... completely tasteless!!
Apparently it was't even marinated for long and the meat is NOT tender at all. I can't believe they are charging $190 for a dish like that. And the size of it is pityful.

All in all, i think it's just a pretentious place that's completely overpriced with very average service and below average food. I'd recommend you to go the 西營盤第三街 BBQ rather than here, cos it's 10 times cheaper, taste even better, and the people are nicer.

OK - i know not all restaurants serve water for free..but $38 for a pot of green water............
