之前聽朋友講話唔錯, 一於去試下入面99%係遊客及外籍人仕, 餐廳好大浸up味, 唔知係唔係無開冷氣一行四人叫了2個前菜, 1個意粉及2個main course, 原本想試手造意粉, 但侍應話部機壞左永遠都冇得食, 其實原本仲想叫Pizza, 但原來每天上限出售20個, 又冇得食Garlic Bread, 好味2個前菜都可以接受(但完全不覺得特別好食, 個蝦都ok, 但份量少左D)海鮮意粉冇味, 同自己去超市買果D 茄汁意粉醬差唔多牛柳, 真係好食燒海鮮, 苦到爆, 300幾蚊, 好難食, 難食X1000000, 佢整燶晒, 肯定係冇睇火, 如果唔係350蚊一碟, 我食少少就唔會再食甜品太甜已經唔錯4個人食了$1600, 但唔飽同埋個海鮮好難食好貴永遠不會再去

Really enjoyed the garlic bread and the minestrone soup, well done on both. The calarmertti and zucchini appetizer was also quite tasty. However, the risotto was not quite as good, too much sauce without much taste. The linguini with red seafood sauce was okay, but the red sauce was a little too British tasting versus Italian. Great atmosphere and good service though.

Personally speaking Italian food has always been a low profile sort of dining experience but reading about the promotion of 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo to becoming a 3 Michelin Stars destination this year, reminds me that old school Italian diners are often neglected by press coverage just because they have nothing too attractive for talking about, nor are there star chefs running the kitchen. But the LATEST Italian chef in La Taverna happens to have worked for many years in Sardinia and Milan and also in China and Hong Kong for the past 20 odd years, and together with his Italian boss who also runs an Italian schemed hotel in Bali, they are trying to replicate an authentic Italian Trattoria/Taverna experience in Hong Kong.

Home Made Tagliatelle di Pasta All'uovo con Ragu di Carne - $152
It is hard to find a proper Bologna style Tagliatelle alla Ragu in town. Most shops anywhere else in the world might serve a Bolognese Spaghetti but the most authentic version from Bologna will also be a Tagliatelle pasta served with a Ragu meat. Yet, La Taverna has always had this on the menu for nearly 40 years already but no one took much notice... The new chef who has arrived is slowly upgrading the menu to reflect more on the seafood side which is his expertise, but I am just glad to revisit this all eggs Tagliatelle pasta made in-house which was cooked perfectly al-dente and eggy, and came with a hybrid pork and beef ragu mince, which was subtly herbed but might be better if more seasoned with both herbs and spices. A true ragu is destined to be more sausage meat like I guess..?

Personally I thought the ragu was slightly too tomato based as real Bologna style ragu is more about the meat gravy than becoming a tomato based sauce. Overall this pasta was excellent by Hong Kong standards. This is served on the side with grated and good quality aged Parmigiano-Reggiano. An excellent pasta, if it was less tomato-ey and more seasoned. 4/5

Eating Italian food is not always about being fancifu stuffl, it is to me more of a daily meal and routine when you just want it to be cooked spot on and executed with heart. Another signature dish here is the Osso Bucco with Saffron Risotto and there will be more seafood dishes being gradually introduced into the New Menu by the chef. This place reminds me of my great meals in the past in 佳人 La Bella Donna, which was quite authentic yet simple without the fuss.... and despite having a similar feel to Amigo's, I'll pick here every time as it has not ever been bastardized to suit the local HK clientelle. A Spaghetti-Bolognaise, some sort of hybrid American-Italian invention for everyone's sake is never going to be the same as a traditional Tagliatelle alla Ragu. They might be similar but they're very different things. One must learn the difference between them!

A restaurant steeped in history in bustling Ashley Road TST should be busily packed at lunchtime, La Taverna is not despite it's fabulous location.There is no greeting as you walk in. Restaurant is cozy, full of off colour decorative items (I did not say junk) from their glory days in the 80's and dust, dust and more dust. There is dust all along the skirting and in all the corners, there is more dust covering everything that is hanging from the ceiling, including the shaded lamp right above y

There is no greeting as you walk in. Restaurant is cozy, full of off colour decorative items (I did not say junk) from their glory days in the 80's and dust, dust and more dust. There is dust all along the skirting and in all the corners, there is more dust covering everything that is hanging from the ceiling, including the shaded lamp right above your table, over whatever you want to eat. It is one thing being old, it is certainly another being dirty and I surely am not keen on dust sprinkles on my food. My leather chair has a big hole on the side and the stuffing are coming out in handfuls.

My friend and I ordered 2 set lunches. We kicked off with Minestrone soups. The soup has no pasta, no cavalo nero cabbage and no canellini beans and certainly no parmesan cheese sprinkles. That is fine if they have not boasted that their menu is authentic Italian. And just when you think you cannot go wrong with a simple tomato based vegetable soup, it has absolutely no taste, no seasoning and no love. It is a complete waste of energy transporting spoonfuls of it from the soup dish to our mouths.

My chicken breast in Marsala sauce came as a shock to me when it arrived, I was not sure it was actually what I had ordered. On the plate, there were 4 thin slices (each no bigger than a business card) of meat, covered in a gloopy sauce. It definitely said chicken breast on the menu! The sides are equally shocking too. Potato wedges are stone cold, not fresh, definitely not cooked on the same day and tasteless. The 2 lumps of carrot are cut from the big carrots which are usually used in Chinese soup making, they have been hot water dipped before putting on the plate whilst the centre is still cold, again no taste. Cauliflower is the only hot item on the plate but surely they do not just cook vegetables in hot water in Italy, at least not in the 21st century plus we did not come for diet food.

The chicken breast meat has a very strange, loose texture, something which I cannot associate with fresh food. The sauce has a sour, off putting after taste.

And just when you think that a Spaghetti Carbonara is the easiest thing to cook in the world and I could have made that at home, out came the La Taverna version for my friend. Pasta is hard, not al dente, this is not even rubber band chewy, it is like wire. The pasta arrived barely warm. The sauce was a gluey mess which has already set on arrival. Worst still, either the cream or the cheese has turned rancid and was giving off a very strong pongy odour and it's taste further confirmed our beliefs.

I was hoping to give my mouth a rinse with some coffee but the coffee served here is sour, aggressive and below average, my nescafe at home is much more approachable. We skipped the urge to order a tiramisu in order to save our lives, we were not sure whether we would be getting something that they had prepared in the 1960's.

Despite less than 10 diners in the restaurant, there is no service. Dishwasher emerged from the kitchen having loud conversations with the floor staff. CD player has been jumping the moment we walked through the door but no one cares. Music was something you want to hear before you slit your wrist.

We paid $230 for our inedible lunches and our tummies were grumbling afterwards. If you want to unimpress someone, bring them here otherwise keep on walking past La Taverna.

印象和現實, 可以是兩碼子的事... 小妹多年來經過這間位於地庫的意大利餐廳, 一直都很好奇, 怠覺上是個很懷舊, 食物味道很正宗, 不受現代社會口味污染之類... 所以一直以來都有個無原因的好印象... 直至早幾晚來吃飯當晚二人walk in, 餐廳內也不太多客人, 可以安安靜靜地吃一頓晚飯..相信香港人對意大利美食都陌生, 我倆也是對意式美食很有興趣的人, 平時大部分時間都是吃risotto, 當晚二人都突然想吃pizza! 不過相對pasta, pizza, 二人都對這裡的前菜沒太大興趣... 結果隨便叫了個牛油果大蝦沙律上枱時真的傻了眼,, 這... 就是一個價值$140的沙律?!?!?! 份量可其少! 再試一下蝦, 雖不是樓下食評所說的霉蝦, 但也不是新鮮貨, 最多是質素好一點的雪藏貨! 墊底的菜是正常沙律菜, 牛油果則大約有半個... 不說還以為自己去了高級餐廳, 這份沙律無論是在質素, 價錢和份量上都不合理, 不成比例的! 是小妹極力不推介的!!!幸好pizza是不錯的, 要了個四色芝士薄餅, 名乎其實是薄。餅, 二人都喜歡這種真正的意大利薄餅厚度, 邊是香脆的, 而四種

幸好pizza是不錯的, 要了個四色芝士薄餅, 名乎其實是薄。餅, 二人都喜歡這種真正的意大利薄餅厚度, 邊是香脆的, 而四種芝士中味道最突出的一定是藍芝士gorgonzola.. 其他如cheddar, permasan cheese等就不太吃得出, 四種芝士加起來都頗油膩, 幸好餅底夠薄, 否則都很難完成一大個pizza!! 配了half bottle的紅酒, 酸酸澀澀的, 不太好喝

其實都已經夠飽了, 不過就是想吃甜品, 要了個tiramisu.. 大大件的. 夠濕亦夠香, 但酒味就明顯不足. 還有可以進步的空間 而且配上焦糖糖漿, 感覺有點怪怪的

看到有其他食客都有雪糕送, 與店員也有講有笑, 明顯是熟客吧? 結賬時發生了不愉快事情 二人都購了某間團購的八折咭, 寫得很清楚有兩張咭就二人同時有八折, 但店方卻說只收一張, 換句話說就只有一位的人均消費有八折, 但店方卻沒有把這個特別條款告知團購公司, 小妹覺得有點被騙... 自問是個花錢不太計較的人, 尤其是對食物, 也不會為一個幾豪而勞氣, 但小妹認為做生意應合理, 尤其是做團購這類型宣傳活動, 有特別條款就應事前說明... 好吃的餐館有不少, 所以服務亦很重要, 在這個花花世界裡, 這間餐廳在小妹眼中是個no return啦

完全是不經意的走到這裡,媽媽突然記起這間就是婷婷小時候爸爸帶我們大鄉里吃 Pizza 的老地方啊!記憶突然飄回來!對對對!就是這裡了!小時候那一次的印像很深刻,長大後其實一直也想尋找店子在哪兒;曾經在尖沙咀返工,曾經來回這條街無數次,吃過附近不同的餐廳,也有幾次差點兒便入了這一間,但好像天意作弄,原來人與地方也講緣份的,原來【遠在天邊近在眼前】!裝修格局都沒有變過,媽媽竟然還記得廿幾年前我們坐哪一張枱,天花還是掛滿一個個酒樽到處都是古董當年出來吃頓意大利餐是天大的盛事,記得爸爸當時說正式西餐 Pizza 是一人一份不用 Share 的,今日重遊舊地,點了這個蝦意粉,好。。。。。。難食呀!啲蝦唔新鮮,又聲又硬,非常差!究竟係我變咗定係佢變咗呢?終於明白到,當一切已成往事,過去的就讓它過去吧!

小時候那一次的印像很深刻,長大後其實一直也想尋找店子在哪兒;曾經在尖沙咀返工,曾經來回這條街無數次,吃過附近不同的餐廳,也有幾次差點兒便入了這一間,但好像天意作弄,原來人與地方也講緣份的,原來【遠在天邊近在眼前】!

La Taverna 藏身於阿士厘道,門口好細,打開門要向下走幾級。樓底唔高,枱排得幾密,燈光昏暗,但佈置得好cozy, 感覺舒服。所有碟印上餐廳名字2人同行,點了3個菜:Cesar chicken salad ($98) - 份量不多、菜爽脆、汁剛好掛於每片菜葉、雞略(o鞋)磨菇意大利飯 - 磨菇已打成蓉變成醬汁,雖然看不到磨菇,但充滿磨菇香味。飯略軟,但不太膩,2人share 剛好,如果加些磨菇粒增加口感更好。意大利雲吞 ($158) - 以三文魚作餡料,配忌廉白汁,大約有十粒,件頭不大,可以一口一粒。三文魚 + 忌廉 =「膩疊膩」,可以skip.甜品是home made tiramisu ($78), 這個相當美味,甜度適中、奶跟cream 比例剛好、賣相討好,如果酒味再多一點點更好。Cappuccino ($45) - 比預期中苦澀,而且朱古力亦少,奶泡亦不濃密,比較失望。播放中的意大利歌曲、斷續的碰杯聲、pizza 在焗爐的香氣 - 舒適的環境,價錢略貴,還是值得。

我十分喜愛吃Risotto, 昨夜為慶祝剛考完試, 男友訂了尖咀亞士厘的 La Taverna大吃一餐!餐廳要落地爐, 環境很有歐陸風情....有如置身意大利小餐館, 很浪漫 i like it !!!!!就ORDER 燴牛膝意大利反同 蘑姑RISOTTOmushroom risotto 的蘑姑香味簡直聞到都流口水, 味道亦十分濃郁可口 LIKE! ossobucco e risotto alla milanese 牛膝煮得剛熟, 很有嚼勁, LIKE! 台上放有一隻啤酒的相, 叫做 DUNKEL "Hofbrauhaus" 牌子. 侍應說是一隻獲獎無數的德國啤酒, 在德國是皇室御用的, 也試試吧. 雖說是一種黑麥啤,但感覺沒有平時酒吧啤酒的苦澀味, 反而聞落似麥精, 麥味很重, 甜甜地, 最後男友竟然忍唔住買左2支DUNKEL 回家再飲! 我地都強力推介 十分好味道的一餐意大利菜!!

台上放有一隻啤酒的相, 叫做 DUNKEL "Hofbrauhaus" 牌子. 侍應說是一隻獲獎無數的德國啤酒, 在德國是皇室御用的, 也試試吧.
雖說是一種黑麥啤,但感覺沒有平時酒吧啤酒的苦澀味, 反而聞落似麥精, 麥味很重, 甜甜地, 最後男友竟然忍唔住買左2支DUNKEL 回家再飲! 我地都強力推介

昨晚, 聽講座前光顧了這間餐廳.自己係一個勁喜愛意菜的意菜monster, 亦非常favour Risotto, 所以就叫了個好典型的Mushroom Risotto, 典型程度就等於在上海食肆叫一客小籠包 or 北京小店來一碟餃子一樣, 簡單得來, 易見真章.等了一會, 終於來到....第一眼: 咦!? sauce多左DD 喎! 稀了丁點, 有點兒似撈飯....似乎火候還差些少. Anyway, 即管放入口試下....第一口: 好香好濃郁的蘑菇味, 意飯粒粒蠻有嚼勁, 不錯.我不敢說我很懂意菜, 我只能夠說, 這碟飯跟我居住在意國時的一向吃的有些不同. 如果, 個飯再收乾少少, 口感黏一點點, 咁就Perfecto啦!

, 意飯粒粒蠻有嚼勁, 不錯.


我不敢說我很懂意菜, 我只能夠說, 這碟飯跟我居住在意國時的一向吃的有些不同.

如果, 個飯再收乾少少, 口感黏一點點, 咁就Perfecto啦!

一直都想試,既然有同事Highly Recommand當然贊成預先訂好枱,唔需要等餐廳唔full環境不錯,很有格調,而且周圍都佈置咗好多畫同埋歐洲特色嘅裝飾,好多野睇尤其係天花嘅裝潢,好特別 Antipasti蒜茸牛油麵包 + 法式麵包 (可refill)蒜茸包好香脆,法式麵包可以醮olive oil + 醋,仲有自家製嘅牛油牛油好香滑,好好味嘅牛油 Zupa di pesce a La Taverna X3 @$98 即係海鮮湯一份海鮮湯可以分開一半,order 咗3 份用一個好靚好大嘅貝殼碗裝住,好靚湯裡面有大蝦青口魷魚......幾多料味道好濃郁因為味道太濃,所以覺得有d 鹹但其實係好好飲有樣野好怪,佢地明明有湯匙但佢冇俾我地喎......食完麵包飲埋湯都有d飽,所以我覺得個湯可以分3份... My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at La Taverna Wednesday last week, and it was a genuinely pleasant experience. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at La Taverna Wednesday last week, and it was a genuinely pleasant experience. We had reserved a table (just in case), but the restaurant was not nearly full that night.
After ordering, we got a bread basket with yummy garlic bread and our wine, and didn't have to wait long for our appetizer (dried bresaola with arugula and parmesan), which was very good. As a main course, we shared the osso bucco and the gnocci with four cheese sauce. We got the osso bucco first, which was wonderfully tender and tasty, served with risotto and, oddly, broccoli (essentially raw), two cherry tomatoes, and two baked potato halves on the side. The sides weren't bad, just ... not Italian at all, and not really creative, either.
The gnocci were very good, too, but as they came on a cold plate and sat on the table until we were done with the osso bucco, they were cold by the time we had them.
To go with dessert (tiramisu: good, but by no means the world's best, and panna cotta: outstanding. The dessert plates were decorated with sauce hearts, awww...), we tried two different kinds of grappa, neither of which we liked. Not that anything was wrong with them, they were just not as tasty and smooth as we would have liked.

We enjoyed that the restaurant was quiet because it was not full, and because there were so many decorative items on shelves on the walls and hanging from the ceiling that all noise from other customers was muzzled.
The waiters were fairly quick, but we didn't have any requests or questions. Taking our dessert order, the waiter asked if everything was to our liking.
Overall a place I can definitely recommend for a nice romantic dinner.

而主菜也是叫了兩款,其中一款是 Risotto con Gambertti e Zucchini,是白汁鮮蝦意大利飯。意大利飯的飯粒,咬下去覺得飯粒中央是有少許硬的,不過我覺得這裡的飯,似乎是為了迎合香港人的口味,飯粒中央不是太硬,但吃下去卻會分辨到跟平時吃的飯的分別。另外白汁也混合了少許酒味,我覺得都很不錯。

另一道主菜是 Filetto di Cernia alla Livornese,是由白酒、檸檬汁等煮成的石斑塊,再加上西蘭花、薯仔和蕃茄仔作伴菜。對於我來說並不算很 impressive,不過我覺得都不差。

最後又怎少得甜品呢?其中一件是 Tiramisu。賣相都算不錯,只是我覺得酒味有點不足。

另一個甜品是我也忘記了是什麼味道的布甸。

這餐埋單大約是 $600 多元 (連加一),其實我覺得都算合理啦。

that night, we ordered the following dishes :
1) smoked salmon salad - i like this cuz the salmon was fresh
2) mushroom risotto - this one is not as good as i think, um....seafood risotto may be better but the rice are chewy enough

overall speaking, this restaurant is good esp the environment,
but its not cheap at all ar~~ahhahahha

- didn't find on menu, but was offered. Grilled until crunchy - not soft on the
inside - strong garlic taste. We liked it.
Linguine al pesto - Pesto linguine pasta with pine nuts ($108)
- pasta was al dente and just right in terms of pesto flavour.
Calamari Fritti - Fried calamari ($98)
- Bite size pieces, crispy and not oily.
Spaghetti alle vongole - Spaghetti with clams, parsley, chilli ($128)
- pasta was again al dente
prosciutto e melone - melon and parma ham ($118)
- least 'special' dish as it literally was like buying parma ham from the deli and
putting on melon yourself.
costoletta alla milanese ($228) - veal escalope pan-fried served with tomato,
arugula
- very thinly sliced, pan-fried was crunchy on outside (not oily) and soft on
inside. The sides was also nice (potato and vegies).
SERVICE
- The food seemed to be good italian food, but the service seemed more chinese / fast food restaurant style: efficient, non-nonsense. We could see the kitchen from our table, and it looked a little fast food style too.
ENVIRONMENT
We had a long table in the restaurant, the place feels cosy with many decorations to make it feel that way - pots, pans, bottles around the place, tiled floors.
Good place for gathering with friends for some good quality italian food in a relaxed atmosphere.
