My girlfriend and I went to Allez Allez for the first time this past Saturday to celebrate our anniversary. Let me just start by saying that you come to this speakeasy not so much just to eat, but to admire the incredible detail the staff have put into making this the ultimate dining and romantic experience!
The manager, Joyce, was both courteous and affable. Having already placed our order, we were concerned that the food would come out fast food style (ie fast). Nothing could be further from the truth. The staff took their time, giving us an opportunity to spend some time out on the balcony. We were informed politely when each course arrived. I'm not going to comment too much on the food this time, suffice to say the chicken cordon bleu was the best I've ever had.
The ambiance here is simply unbelievable. Leaving aside the Renaissance period feel of the entire establishment, the bathroom has been painstakingly decorated, tastefully and fragrantly surrounded with sweet smelling flowers. The sitting area, where we had our cappucino, gave us the illusion of sitting at home while listening to soothing music. Amazing.
My only critique would be that the pepper told a little longer than I would have liked to arrive, and the wine we wanted was not available despite our reserving a table in advance. This is a small quibble nonetheless, and I'm sure Joyce will fix this for our return date (before the year is out)!
