The hype was of this restaurant is quite high...since it’s the only restaurant that people are queuing up for during dinner time. We came here at around 7:30pm and waited for around 20 minutes to be seated. We ordered the special pho and beef pho as it is written as their recommendations. mine finally came! I really liked the soup to be honest, and the beef was good too. It’s just the services that most people are complaining about so I guess just give it some time for them to adjust the pace before heading there.

Pho. I love pho but it seemed majority of places in Hong Kong can't do a proper pho. And when they do, it costs  an arm and a leg. But still, nothing compares to the great pho I get back home in Canada. So, when Chua Lam claimed he was going to start a restaurant that served pho from a recipe from Pho Dzung, a small Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne, I was curious. Did he really bring me a bowl of pho to remember like he promises?

I arrived a 5 PM on a weekday. There was only two girls in front of boyfriend and me but there seemed to be no body to get us a table even though there were plenty of seats inside. But there seemed to be  person to bring people in but she kept walking  in and out and looking confused. Finally, a man came over and saw a small line had formed and started to bring people in. I have no idea on why we had to wait in the first place when there was plenty of space. Probably to make it appear like there was always a line and let people know it's popular?


The restaurant is very large. There are three floors with even more seating in the back. The kitchen is an open kitchen.

Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. It's in the form of a check off piece of paper.  They not only have pho but they have appetizers and dessert. But we were here only for pho. The best deal is the $68 pho which allows you to choose two toppings with your noodles. You can also customize it with basil, etc but it seemed when it made no difference as we did check those off but we were still served it anyways.

I had chose beef balls and beef shank. It was ok. The balls had a nice texture to them. The beef shank was a bit tough. The noodles were a bit too soggy for my liking. However, the soup was really excellent. A strong beef flavor in a clear broth that wasn't oily. It had a sweet and savory taste to it that did remind me of the Australian pho I've had. The pho also came with a little cup of herbs and bean sprouts that were super fresh.

Boyfriend chose the raw beef and beef brisket.  The beef was ok but the brisket was a bit disappointing. It was tough the chew.

For $68, it wasn't expensive. The soup was definitely the star but the rest was was mediocre. Definitely not a bowl of pho to remember but it was a good effort. The service, on the other hand, was terrible. We sat there for a lengthy amount of time with no menu and was ignored a few times while waving our hands.  And when presented with the menu, we had no pen to write on it so had to wave our hands again for attention.  It was also not too clean. Both boyfriend and my spoons still had dried noodle on it. Changing it, we had the same thing so we just ended up scraping it away. The washroom was also dirty. No toilet paper and floor was sticky. I guess Chua Lam not only brought pho that was located in Chinatown, but he brought in the Chinatown service and hygiene as well. Something boyfriend and I are very used to. So, we'll be back.

呢幾日因為喉嚨痛緣故所以一直都無啖好食,辣既唔得,生冷嘢又唔得,難得今日係中環早收,諗住二話不說就跳上架巴士返歸食住家飯啦,點知行到威靈頓街見到新開既蔡瀾越南粉,仲要4點半唔多人排,所以心郁郁就去試下啦。先講講個粉先,我就叫左個牛丸牛肉河,越南粉最緊要既梗係佢既湯底,呢度既湯底同其他越南粉有少少唔同,因為佢唔係個隻又啡又濃既湯底,而係好清好清既,飲落去好清甜,同埋唔會廓喉,一d味精味都無,基本上你可以直接飲佢d湯。其次係d粉同埋牛啦梗係,河粉係餐廳每日新鮮磨米漿整既,米香同爽滑度都夠,而牛肉部份就不得了,好香肉味,而且唔會韌。根據自己個人口味可以落返青檸、隔離d香葉,芽菜都好甜,成個粉無令我失望,值得返轉頭同場加映越南紙米卷,味道清新,而且d菜好新鮮,裏面包既餡料好豐富,加上特別調製既醬汁,私心推介去幫襯一定要叫。

先講講個粉先,我就叫左個牛丸牛肉河,越南粉最緊要既梗係佢既湯底,呢度既湯底同其他越南粉有少少唔同,因為佢唔係個隻又啡又濃既湯底,而係好清好清既,飲落去好清甜,同埋唔會廓喉,一d味精味都無,基本上你可以直接飲佢d湯。

其次係d粉同埋牛啦梗係,河粉係餐廳每日新鮮磨米漿整既,米香同爽滑度都夠,而牛肉部份就不得了,好香肉味,而且唔會韌。

根據自己個人口味可以落返青檸、隔離d香葉,芽菜都好甜,成個粉無令我失望,值得返轉頭

“發泡膠越南河”係澳洲食左越南河咁多年都未試過有咁新口味,真係第一次食,可能蔡生改良,營造香港特色!最後換都冇得換,因為廚房要收工落埸!員工當冇事發生,最後食咗嘢梗係要比錢!

唯一可取就是价格在中環区算是便宜,$68一碗不收加一。這可能跟国内投資者市場策略有關,靠人氣,重量不重質,要快要大,卻難為了蔡生!

慕名而去,牛河湯底幾甜,河粉幾滑同有米味,但服務態度惡劣,侍應沒有笑容,不友善,叫了一個越南酸辣湯檬粉,但一直都沒有來,催了兩次都沒有來,每次問侍應後都得不到答覆,最後等不切要取消落單,侍應都毫無歉意,還顯出一副不在乎的樣子。餐廳B區環境濕滑,廁所衛生又一般,性價比很低,不必特地去試,遑論要去排隊。

What can I say, the food is terrible and the service is all over the place!Spring rolls - standard flavor but soft and mushyRaw Beef noodles - Soup base was acceptable. Raw Beef noodles - Soup base was acceptable. Very little meat and basic quality. Noodles were extremely soft (good for elder without teeth or toddlers growing teeth)

Spicy and Sour noodles - Soup base had no balance, just sour! And lukewarm. Staff explained that it was because of cold ingredients added to the soup base

The only thing acceptable was the coconut water and the 2 cans of sprite

Also we kept getting served other people’s orders. While my table was already full of food

Completely overhyped. Glad we didn’t order their special pho for $128. First off the divided restaurant doesn’t work. You pass through this hallway where you’ll be greeted by disgusting buckets of unwanted food waste. You’ll then pass by the kitchen but make sure you don’t slip on the cardboard boxes lining the floor. Finally being seated you’ll nicely feel you’re part of the kitchen with its open design with food droppings everywhere and trash carts nearby that even tsui wah wouldn’t have.Orde

Ordering....didn’t put in our order so people seated after us were eating first. Oh and they told us they had run out of some items only for those items to show up at the table beside us.

Food. All around not good. Raw beef could be used for shoes. Soup so so. Spring rolls so so. Veg ok. $268 for meal which is ok but I’m not coming back.

Decor. What decor?!

On our way out once again greeted by the disgusting food bins. Eeew

Avoid. Go to brass spoon. Way better.

每次經過都好多人今日經過冇人就行去門口明明店入面眼看都有十幾個空位但門口店員都唔放人見佢一直用對講機 都冇人應佢感覺店鋪非常混亂終於坐落檯舉左好耐手都冇人理連落單紙都冇人比人我地全部侍應都面向廚房 背對客人話就就免費加粉但我們三人 加了兩個 加粉也是等了十五分鐘左右後來有個講野唔正既女侍應 唔比我後加多一個粉湯頭太甜 食完之後 夜晚飲左好多水 應該味精幾多下 呢杯野都係追左兩次先有得飲總結黎講真係可一不可在😐😐😐

由排隊等到入座至有得食,差不多兩小時,同食放題一樣,但等多過食,真的等到一生難忘的越南粉。排隊入座差不多四十五分鐘,這個不問題小事,因為預計了要等。只是入座後,叫了食物,對單都對了二次都錯,入埋了隔離枱的食物入單,之後再查單,都搞了十分鐘,跟著等了四十五分鐘都未有得食,問來問去都出不了,聽說前台單亂晒,免費加粉,叫了又遲遲不來。反而遲來的就已經加埋粉食完,埋單走,都無得食。雖然好食,但這樣難以接受。

蔡瀾呢間越南粉 未開張前已經賣行曬廣告 講到話係澳洲嘅勇記 河粉又係自家製 本小姐最愛越南粉當然十分期待 難得男朋友過嚟中環同我食晚飯 佢一路排隊一路等我放工 大概排咗15分鐘 我點咗生牛河 88蚊 男朋友點 生牛河拼牛丸 68蚊 睇下佢有咩分別 我嗰碗 只係 生牛肉多幾片 湯底係一樣 佢話牛骨湯煲咗好耐好耐 本小姐淨係飲到一個字 甜 無乜牛骨味 生牛肉亦沒有太多鮮味 超普通 好啦試下個河粉 好明顯係自家製啦 有啲好粗有啲好幼 第一啖食落去已經係 林滋滋 可想而知 之後變成如何 食到一半時候香葉都完全發揮唔到香味 芽菜仲係苦嘅 我食咗半碗已經投降 仲話免費添食真係多謝夾盛惠 我哋仲有點咗個春捲 上枱嘅時候 仍然見到有油喺春捲上面 炸得完全唔乾身 裏面都冇乜料只有數條粉絲同少少肉碎 完全沒有鮮味 服務方便 真係都麻麻地 話曬都係新餐廳 最可笑嘅係 我哋問 侍應喺邊度買單 佢竟然答我哋唔知道 老友係唔知道呀 唔係幫我哋問下 真係o曬嘴 可一不可再 唔會再信你㗎啦蔡瀾 一世難忘嘅越南牛肉粉
