What does a guy do on a Sunday evening with some time on his hand Queue.
I see a huge queue every time I walked past Yokozuna so I decided to give it a go when I have some time. It was pretty early (around 6:30) so I "only" had to wait for 30 minutes. The restaurant seems to have quite an extensive selection of ramen as well as side dishes.
Most seats are counter seats and a bit crowded, which is normal for a ramen joint. Very attentive and polite service.
Once again I decided to try out their spicy ramen (I've been trying to find a similar taste in Hong Kong after trying an excellent spicy ramen in Japan). The ramen arrived 5 minutes after I've placed my order. The default noodle texture is medium (I think you can make special requests in this shop).
The soup base is pretty mild and thin and is more sour than spicy. It matched with the fresh vegetables with the noodle as well as the char siu - generous portion and a bit lean.
I believe the focus of this shop is to use fresh ingredients and to adopt a more healthy cooking method, i.e. less salt and less oil.
Good choice for most who like healthy living but not for those who want to get a "kick" in their ramen.
It's worth a 30 minutes wait but not for too long.
Having said that, I might return to try their original ramen.
