同事推薦的好吃地道香港點心茶餐廳,熬夜只爲能來飲早茶,果然是值得的。美眉推薦的流沙包果然名不虛傳,熱辣辣流出來,外皮的麵也浸滿味道,但是汁卻不會凝固在鬆軟的麵里。其它點心也味道正宗,牛肉球,黑椒豬肚等等。點餐方式也很特別,店員捧著點心出來,喜歡的就自己拿過來,最後按個數買單。價錢超抵!早茶時段很多學校的學生和周圍居住的公公婆婆,熱熱鬧鬧。適合三五好友迫在一起,高高興興食一餐!

Besides enjoying all the privilege like any other HKU students, they are definitely the best (and of course, free) tour guide to show me around Sai Wan, where I rarely step foot in. Steamed Custard Buncan already tell how thin the layer is by its look. The runny egg yolk is about to burst any second you poke it. Warning: the custard buns are steaming hot.

Seriously, this is the best custard bun I have ever had. Generous amount of custard dripping everywhere. Custard filling itself tastes different from other custard buns. It has strong taste of egg yolk and sweetness, and some tiny granules of yolk reminding you the presence of it. We could not resist ordering another three.

Deep fried milk is something I would dye for. These were not freshly made but taken from a metal plate on dim sum table, so they were rest cool. But still, I am pleased with its mild milky flavour. It will be divine if they were served hot.

My friend is an expert of steamed sponge cake. It came double the size she had in ordinary Chinese restaurant. It was harder than usual ones. From the waitress, we learnt that it was made with milk powder. Plus, the air holes added fluffiness to the cake.

The Turnip Cake was highly recommended by the lovely old man next to us. There was no reason not to try! It was amazing!!! They used great amount of shredded turnips instead of too much rice flour. The taste of turnip was REAL.
Sun Hing is a heaven for dim sum lovers. With more dim sum choices than Tim Ho Wan, I would say this is not the place to be missed!

When my friends from Canada were visiting Hong Kong and asked me to take them somewhere for authentic dim sums, instead of taking them to Lin Heung Kui, a hot tourist spot renowned for their old school dim sums and tea house experience, I decided to take them to Sun Hing Restaurant, a neighbourhood Cantonese restaurant in Sai Wan which is much less internationally famous than Lin Heung Kui.

Sun Hing Restaurant serves simple, scrumptious dim sums, and their steamed custard buns are regarded by many to be the best in Hong Kong. Their unusual opening hours, from 3am-4pm everyday, makes it a popular haunt for late-night snacks, particularly amongst the students of nearby University of Hong Kong. There is no reservation policy at this down-to-earth eatery, so be prepared for a rather chaotic scene. I personally recommend coming at odd hours so that you can have a more relaxing experience.

Freshly made dim sums are constantly brought out from the kitchen. The staff here don't speak much English, but they are very friendly, and if all else fails, just point at what you want to order! The prices are incredibly budget-friendly, and our dim sum feast only came to around $50 per person.

These custard buns had the thinnest layer of steamed bun in proportion to the amount of custard filling I have ever tried. The filling was a work of art - accentuated by grains of salted egg yolk, the custard had the perfect level of sweetness and runniness, and it was an instant addiction.

日本朋友不停話想體驗下香港既飲茶文化,就帶佢地黎學校附近都幾出名既新興食家!店內比較窄,要企係度等位有d困難!店員服務態度都不太好,但食物水準很高所以朋友們都好滿意!個人覺得最好味就係叉燒包,好熱辣辣而且好大個,比起大型茶樓既叉燒包大,味道亦很好!另外燒賣都很不錯,入面既蝦好大隻,yummy yummy!食物太好食,所以等耐d都抵!!!!!

直到今日,偶然之下,重遇新興。時間不是以前的時間;地點不是以前的地點;人物不是以前的人物。但味道是以前的味道。久違的回憶一湧而上,原來我曾度過多少快樂的時光。那刻我好感激新興,雖然我一度遺忘,往後也可能再度遺忘,但我的確在這裡,得到很多快樂。這日的重遇,吃的是1/2美食和1/2回憶,一整份圓滿了。

美食推介:
1. 流沙包:可謂鎮店之寶。只要伙記一大叫:「流沙包新出爐!」,「呢度一籠!」「要兩籠!」「三籠唔該!」等叫聲就會此起彼落。搣開還冒著熱氣的包子,香滑的奶黃餡滿瀉,蛋黃味濃,滿足得讓人歎息。
2. 炸奶:剛出爐的炸奶最是美味,外面金香酥脆,內裡嫩滑甜美,必定要試。
3. 蝦餃:大大粒,蝦肉鮮甜爽口,真正皮薄餡靚。
4. 豉汁蒸排骨:豉汁味道濃郁,排骨肥瘦適中,肉汁豐富,一如既往的好味。

好耐冇食過啦。新興搬左新舖之後,第一次黎。比起以前乾淨左,光猛左,寬敞左,但感覺已經唔同左,硬係覺得冇左份懷舊味。菜苗餃好大粒,豆苗同蝦都好多。以前我至愛既流沙包,依舊一搣開就流哂出黎,但宜家已經冇當年一口氣食一籠既衝動,感覺有點此情不再。理性D諗,點心味道保持到,有舊式酒樓點心風味,仍然好食。

Only got the steamed buns because they were famous.I have attempted to get them quite a few times before but they were sold out!Anyway, I was lucky they were not sold out at 3:24 pm that day.I am not really a fan of local dim sums in Hong Kong because they don't taste as good as the ones in UK or you need to go to really pricey places for good quality dim sum.There were lots of round tables were strangers share tables with each other.On the menu there were two interesting items:This is not a spr

When I opened the box, the steamed buns were a bit tacky, the buns were not pure white with yellow splodges on it and the piece of paper at the bottom looked like it was steamed in a dirty pan with a greasy surface.

As for the taste I was not wowed by it however it was good that it was not too sweet.
The filling had pieces of salted hard yolk in it.
If you want to challenge yourself eating this bun without making a mess, this is definitely recommended!

打從幾年前,新興食家奶皇包經已讓我一看難忘,那美味形象深入我心,想不到它搬了位置後才首嚐。經常怕進入食店只點一樣食品外賣,會招惹店員不滿側面,這兒的收銀叔叔及點心阿姐仍然樂意招待,讚。看見那一籠籠的點心放在點心車上,我說要個流沙奶皇包,阿姐隨手便拿盒子盛著奶皇包,那就知道不是熱騰騰、新鮮熱辣的包吧。所以,買完便飛奔找個地方打開吃包子,結果到了旁邊便利店打開便吃。賣相不錯,看似蛋黃油光亮澤。仔細一看,左邊包子的皮遠比右邊包子厚,雖然「冇咁劃一標準化」可體現「人性化」餐廳的感覺,但差太遠的話,很容易造成同桌進食你讚我彈的現象,吃了厚皮包子的人絕不好受。

賣相不錯,看似蛋黃油光亮澤。仔細一看,左邊包子的皮遠比右邊包子厚,雖然「冇咁劃一標準化」可體現「人性化」餐廳的感覺,但差太遠的話,很容易造成同桌進食你讚我彈的現象,吃了厚皮包子的人絕不好受。

之前新興還沒搬之前就已經算是老主顧了,也試過幾次半夜3點幫襯過,雖然也不是驚為天人地好味,不過憑著一支獨秀的流沙包和方便的地點還是讓我滿願意來的。新學期開始之前就認識了這位外國友人(是我在國外上學時結交的朋友所介紹給我的)。因為第一次來香港交換人生地不熟,我就義不容辭地擔任她的buddy。所以我們便約出來吃飯,不過友人沒飲過茶,所以便介紹她來這家港大大學生必來(當作experience也好)的新興,一方面也是因為地點靠近大學,然後我在它搬遷之後都沒來過。想說來之前已經聽過一些comment,像是食物變貴了,店不是很衛生etc,不過來了之後才覺得店真是變小了好多,現在是一個clockwise 45‘的L字形。店也明顯明亮了很多(因為新裝潢嘛),不過店還是一樣擠,委屈了人高馬大的國外友人得和這麼多人一起擠在那張小圓桌(搞不好回去可以寫一篇culture shock的交換report lol)之前是屬於自助形式的,就是得自己去拿餐具和泡茶水,不過不知是新店太小還是什麼,現在已變成他們會自己給你(壞處是結果我連想要喝什麼茶都不行了)。流沙包肯定得點新興的招牌“流沙包”啦!一撕開包就會有一如既往

之前是屬於自助形式的,就是得自己去拿餐具和泡茶水,不過不知是新店太小還是什麼,現在已變成他們會自己給你(壞處是結果我連想要喝什麼茶都不行了)。

流沙包
肯定得點新興的招牌“流沙包”啦!一撕開包就會有一如既往的澎湃鹹蛋黃流出來,好好味喔!
特別是剛剛出爐還熱騰騰的,連國外友人都大贊。

蝦餃
這也是一如既往地——麻麻地
尤其是因為已經放在外面久了,所以皮都痴埋哂。餡料就還好,不是特別地好味,不過蝦是新鮮的。

燒賣
味道滿好的,算是我最喜歡的黃金搭配——蝦+豬肉。不過還是一個老問題,皮都痴埋哂,要拿的時候都分不開。

豉汁蒸排骨
味道有保持水準,不過有一點要抱怨,為什麼全是瘦肉???是想要走health-conscious路線嘛?還是我就那麼不幸運
 不過味道還是蠻好的。。。可是排骨一定要有瘦有肥才是王道!(減肥失敗的不歸路。。。)

炸奶
這是因為我全拿了蒸品,然後心想怕友人食得多覺得膩,所以便推薦了一下炸物。結果友人非常踴躍地想嘗試 ><(所以外國人還是比較喜歡deep-fried food嗎?)不過還是滿好味的,就甜甜的但不會過份,也不會炸得很油。

豆苗餃
蝦肉新鮮爽口,加上豆苗味道很鮮甜,唯一缺點就是餃皮一夾就散。

金菇餃
這是友人在語言不同的情況下被hard-sell的,不過味道其實也不差,而且也是坊間不太常看到的傳統點心,值得一試。
题外话/补充资料: 食物味道還是保持了一貫的水準,不過好像也沒什麼進步(像是皮會散和痴埋一舊的老問題)。不過來新興飲茶本來就是貪圖那個氣氛和大學生聚在一起的感覺,而且作為一家老店也成功留下了傳統的味道,像是所謂媽媽的味道,所以也不能和什麼大酒樓放在一起比的。 不過這一餐的確感受到高昂租金的威力,雖然我們的確有點放肆地吃太多><不過價錢確實是比之前貴了好多。不過總體來說還是滿好的,沒試過的朋友可以前來一試。

Sun Hing is a small Chinese restaurant offering dim sum starting from midnight 2.30am to 4pm the next day. The place is always packed with three types of people - old grannies, drunk and students from HKU. I found it really fun when I first visited Sun Hing and saw this signboard asking diners to keep their voice down, in English.Everything is self service - from finding seats, getting tea to choosing and picking your dim sum back to your table. Yet, the staff are all extremely friendly and chatty (sometimes overly much). I feel home in this place.

Steamed Chinese Sponge Cake 馬拉糕
Most westerners finds it extremely weird when I took a bite of the Chinese Sponge Cake in the middle of a meal(at least my friend did), everytime I explained it is one of the sweet dish that we Chinese have with the sour. The sponge cake was good but it's not very special.

This is a killer!!! There was loads of shredded turnip bits in the cake. So effing good with the soy sauce! PLEASE GET THIS everyone!

It is probably a gimmick and this is basically deep fried shrimp roll. Don't get this if have you have small stomach.

Assorted Chicken Roll 棉花雞
I always get this dish because 1) I love fish belly, 2) I love Chinese mushroom 3) dried bean curd 4) the chicken is always smooth as hell for some reason. Yes I basically stated everything that exist in this roll. Get it, it's good!

Sun Hing is definitely one of the best food spot after midnight. Their food is always fresh and yummy! What I love most is the runny custard bun, then follows the steamed turnip cake. Pay them a visit after you have a night out! I guarantee Xin Xing finished your night even better!

Everything is self service - from finding seats, getting tea to choosing and picking your dim sum back to your table. Yet, the staff are all extremely friendly and chatty (sometimes overly much). I feel home in this place.

從當時未結業的舊店, 直到現在剛重開的新店, 其「名物」流沙包也被身邊的朋友推崇備至, 卻一直未有機會一嚐, 直到今天偶然路過, 才知道這裡便是新興食家的新店所在。即時用 OpenRice app 閱讀食評, 一早鎖定目標為流沙包、蝦餃、燒賣、山竹牛肉。進入店內, 「檸茶」即時嚇了一跳 吸引到目光的並不是店內有多滿座或那裡有空位, 而是地上那條濕滑的路, 感覺像逛街市; 還有橫屍遍野的垃圾, 「屍」當然是指吃剩的骨頭和渣宰, 還有不少用過的紙巾和紙巾包裝, 看來顧客和店員都很合作地創造這裡的文化 - 顧客們把用過的紙巾拋到地上, 店員們則視而不見, 完全當這些垃圾透明, 完全沒有任何店員有掃走或拿起來的意識。無論坐在街邊大牌檔或熟食市場吃東西 (如勝香園、東寶等), 只要好吃, 犧牲一下環境的話, 對「檸茶」來說也接受得到, 但對著新興食家這個壯觀的場面, 加上店員的衛生意識, 實在遠超自己的底線, 完全不能接受。既然送來了一壺香片茶 (及後才知索價每位六元, 比很多正規酒樓還要高, 實在非常進取), 好歹也吃一趟流沙包, 於是由原先的數款點心減至一款。流沙包送過來, 發覺其中一個表

把其中一個反過來, 發覺底部全被流沙「浸」著, 是否一個正常的流沙包應該如此? 至少「檸茶」本人未曾見過。

包的質感較為濕潤, 不如理想, 不過不可不讚的是其流沙的確美味, 蛋黃味極濃, 甜度不算高, 流沙效果也可以。

吃完一個流沙包後, 便要不得即時離開, 事實上「檸茶」由進入店內開始已經很想離開, 因為其衛生情況不止影響食慾, 甚至有反胃的感覺, 無論食品有多好吃, 「檸茶」也真的不懂欣賞。

是唯一一次, 也肯定是最後一次。
