After trying the Hungry Tuesday promotion, I am sure that Nicholini's is the best Italian restaurant in the town. The Northern Italian cuisine by Nicholini's surprises me, not to mention its service is excellent. After trying the Hungry Tuesday promotion, I am sure that Nicholini's is the best Italian restaurant in the town. The Northern Italian cuisine by Nicholini's surprises me, not to mention its service is excellent.

The promotion offers a 4 set menu at 850 HKD per person, with 30% off with Citibank payment.

We chose foie gras as the appetizer. The foie gras has slightly burnt at its surface while the inner part remains soft. The surface is crispy while it is not overcooked and not oily at all.

We tried both pasta which were good. One is served with lamb with the other one is with urchin. The portion is all right, good to have a try before the main course.

For the main course, the steak and seabass are both above average. 

The dinner ends with an excellent dessert, a chocolate egg with ice cream. When they served it, they added hot chocolate sauce on it and the egg with melt in the middle, showing the ice-cream hidden in it, which is so creative.

The service is excellent. The waiters are so friendly and helpful that made the birthday celebration a perfect one.

I brought my friend for a fancy girly lunch at Nicholini's at the Conrad hotel to try their new Saturday Brunch just launched last month. We were delighted to go for the free flow Champagne option matching perfectly well with the Grand seafood platter included in the menu. We were delighted to go for the free flow Champagne option matching perfectly well with the Grand seafood platter included in the menu. It was nice to meet the Chef who brought himself the seafood platter at our table. The selection of oysters, lobster and shrimps was so fresh and amazing.

The menu also includes a nice buffet of wide Italian appetizers and great cold cut.
The good surprise is the possibility to order several main dishes A la carte to taste different specialities. I tried the rack of lamb which was perfectly cooked and tasty and the hand made tagliatelle. Dishes are not that creative but recipes are succulent.

For sweet lovers, you can enjoy the deserts platter garnished with about ten pastries, chocolate, cakes, tiramisu, fruits and ice cream. 

I feel like it is not easy to find a qualitative Italian food restaurant in town and I am really glad to recommend Nicholini's restaurant, especially for the Saturday brunch.

Very good value for money and the service is so pleasant, full of attention and nice presentation with effective high standards of service. 
Sure we'll visit again!

The roasted suckling pig was okay. Ming Court and Lung King Heen have better versions. Their peking duck was also mediocre. Their foie gras was decent and so was their beef tenderloin.
A hot cooked-to-order entree is also included with the brunch. My Australian lamb chops were excellent, definitely the highlight of my brunch
Desserts, fruits, freshly squeezed juices, and lattes were all very good.
3 hour valet parking is included with purchases $1000+. Additional hour is $80.
Brunch is served from 11 - 3 pm on Sundays.
~$800/head for Sunday brunch + 10% service charge. HS cardholders get 15% off.

The famed buffet at Conrad was a luxury I tried only once before, with an additional $100 one could have free-flowing bubbles which was a perfect arrangement to go with the exquisite cuisine. 
First the cold platter with cold crab, langoustine which were fresh and sweet after freezing. The sashimi were of satisfactory quality with scallop topping the rest. The marinated squid seaweed was a stimulating appetizer. The liver pâté terrine was prepared in three different forms and all were smooth, likewise was smoked salmon in various preparations - I liked the traditional slice form best though slightly salty. The mozarella cheese should have gone well with tomatoes, but the taste of the cheese was slightly on the bland side. The Iberian and Parma hams were both fairly well aged and though it wasn't proper to pair both with cantaloupe the flavours were not affected. The salmon salad and the Mediterranean grilled eggplant were quite dainty as sides. The roast suckling pig with the succulent crispy skin was almost as guilt-instilling as the freshly panfried foie gras which was rich and melting. The omelette with optional ingredients (mine was mushrooms and smoked salmon) was of standard quality, but the roast beef and pig cuts were tender and juicy. Brussels sprouts were seldom seen in buffet lunches and they went well with a second helping of seafood. The lime and mango sherbet and the strawberry ice cream were so-so only, this was made up by the desserts bar filled with a plenitude of mini desserts - custard, soft cheese cake, blueberry New York cheesecake, date tart - which were heavenly with the choice of assorted fresh fruits. There were also freshly baked soufflés and I managed to get one amid the keen competition and the egg white foamy texture was quite nicely done (the collapsed picture here didn't really do it justice). 
At less than $750 per head (with befit card boons and one of us drinking), this place has officially become an annual must-visit-buffet on my list.

Window seat 望到少少夜景, 餐廳內很寧靜, 配著柔和的純音樂, 很relax! 檯上的繍球花陳設好靚, 檯與檯之間相隔很闊, 各檯客人都有自己的空間。點菜後, 先有侍應行過來serve的Assorted Bread~我試了芝士牛角包及海苔墨汁包, 前者好好味又鬆軟, 後者只是尚可。之後就有Amuse Bouche, 是日的是帶子配魚子醬, 剛好一匙一口! 帶子配魚子醬是很夾的, 只是帶子略為乾了一點, 但仍是很不錯的~之後就上了朋友的湯, 但忘了影相...上菜後友人只顧品嚐就知道幾有質素吧! 聽說是意寧谷的招牌菜之一, 蕃茄汁是用新鮮靚蕃茄煮成的蓉的, 很濃味! 天使麵麵質剛好, 不會很硬, 就算差不多食完又不會'林'曬~龍蝦很有鮮味, 份量亦不少, 差不多每一啖天使麵都帶有龍蝦肉。

友人的主菜是Traditional veal ossobuco, saffron risotto, gremolata 傳統燴牛仔膝配紅花意大利飯 HK$495
老實說, 上菜時外表並不討好, 牛仔肉好軟身, 基本上不用用刀, 只用叉肉就已經離骨! 最出色是牛仔膝中的骨髓, 友人給少少我試, 只是一啖仔, 味道超濃烈的! 不是誇張的, 吞完後那味道還停留在口腔好一段時間, 齒夾留香...超讚!!!

然後又是間場的Pre-dessert - 檸檬奶凍, 上碟時噴曬煙...要好快手影相, 哈! 可能食完濃味的主菜, 這道檸檬奶凍的確很清新, 奶味中和了檸檬酸味, 比之前的熱情果雪芭好!

最後就是Dessert in Birthday Version: Nicholini's tiramisu 意寧谷意大利芝士蛋糕HK$170 
初初上碟時...看不出是Tiramisu, 一般坊間做的都是將手指餅浸酒後壓實...成圓餅型。意寧谷的則是一反常態, 將浸酒後的手指一條一條交叉放, 味道好之餘又不失美感! 酒味不算很濃, 少少濕但未至於太'林', 再配上上面的可可粉, 恰到好處~~推介!!

本人不是甚麽飲食名家,也不是任何味蕾上的名嘴,只是希望在時間和金錢的付出上來取得飲食的喜悅。農曆年三十晚揀選在 Nicholinis,原意是一家人能慢慢細嚐的食一餐團年飯,但當晚的食物簡直令我『驚』和『嘆』。Carpaccio - 意大利牛肉『切片』- 是切片,不是我寫錯,如果大家知道這菜是怎樣做,你也會Carbonara - 第一次上桌時,隨即把麵上的温泉蛋弄破打算用蛋黄做個漿汁,但怎麽攪完會「水汪汪」的,一摸,麵是凍的,蛋是凍的(不是温) ,嗰碟就好熱,唯有叫部長處理。第二次端出來時,黑衫部長還特別提點很熱,真是很熱,全部蛋熟哂,似成碟剛從焗爐拿出來為着是團年飯,我也不想因食物的關係而破壞和家人的歡聚但慶幸 Souffle 還是這裏最好吃的名物。食完晚飯在等電梯離開時,剛好前面是落地大玻璃能飽覽金鐘夜景,突然腦海中浮現起幾天前看過「澳牛的黄昏」,而當前的美景,希望不是「Nicholinis的午夜」。

More on this later...White truffles...MMMMM Nom Nom Nom. October marks the beginning of the truffle season. Here's a lil' BG on this beautifully aromatic delicacy. White Truffles are first worth MORE than USD$2000 (OH MY) per pound. Why the gasp-worthy price? Truffles are rare white truffles make it the unicorn of truffles (except not like unicorns...white truffles exist...but fewer and fewer of the really good quality ones are produced every year)

Scrambled Free Range Eggs w/ White Truffle and Raschera $420. The white truffles make this ridiculously expensive........But the eggs were so fluffy, decadent and creamy! I loved it...And, when they brought this dish out...wowza, the intense aroma was soooooo darn good!! It smelled literally like truffle heaven!

Nicholini's Zuppa: Seafood Soup, Garlic toasted Crouton $165. This was glorious. I've had it before...and I know the deliciousness that it is. It's more like a lobster bisque though. With one rather plump lump of succulent lobster in the mix.

Drinks? Yup. There were. And, a Mango Sherbet to refresh our taste buds! Ready for the main course.

Ended the night with these petit fours. I only had a dark chocolate truffle...ME Like. The meal was great! Service was terrific. But then again, you are paying for that service and experience. Remember: this is a splurge!!! Expensive meal. Total came to close to HK$5000....guess those white truffles really are a rare gem.

近來天氣很難捉摸,尤特訪港的今天就是例子了;不久前才烈日當空,曬到幾乎要暈,一時又連場暴雨,令人望天打卦.... 故在計劃8/1四週年慶祝時,也一早做好兩手準備:如天晴就去全港最靚景餐廳Aqua,否則就去享受氣氛為主的Nicholini's。 結果大家也知道了,8/1當日掛起3號風球,雖然未致傾盆大雨,但整個維港都烏雲密佈,去到Aqua也沒意思了,所以兩口子就來金鐘Conrad Hotel慶祝了! 來到酒店8樓步出電梯大堂後,向左走就是吃輕裝法國菜的Brasserie on the Eight(曾在這裡也有過美好的回憶);向右走的則會來到吃意菜的Nicholini's。一般來說法國菜比意大利菜高貴,但來到Conrad卻是相反,Nicholini's無論是環境以及食物,都比前者更為fine-dining,特別當晚就坐偌大的二人沙發卡位,舒適無比,檯上迷人的紫色花盤,也令氣氛更添浪漫。雖然景觀不及Aqua,透過落地玻璃也可享受一刻黃昏日落美景,可很快又烏雲密佈兼下起微雨了,還好入夜後餐廳的氣氛十分迷人,彌補了去年在1881失去的兩口子浪漫時光!  不同於法國餐廳,這裡的麵包是侍者捧上給食客

不同於法國餐廳,這裡的麵包是侍者捧上給食客選擇的,前後都會問2-3次之多,基本上所有款式都試勻了;當中最喜歡芝士牛角包及海苔墨汁包,最差則是grissini,真懷念Grissini的出品!

當晚的Amuse Bouche是吞拿魚拌鵪鶉蛋,前者黑椒味稍重了些,後者較為清新醒胃,能夠符合開胃效果。

Tuna Carpaccio with Orange and Fennel Salad, Citrus Granita,同樣都是吞拿魚,這款生吃的頭盤就鮮美多了,襯以香醇橄欖油很是美妙,而沙律中的鮮橙肉更起了刺激味蕃的作用,十分清新開胃!

Pan-seared Foie Gras with Black Truffle "martini"也很精彩,煎鵝肝也做到集香脆、豐腴、柔嫩、馥郁於一身,拌以幽香的黑松露片更是錦上添花了;另外墊底是非常香滑的薯蓉,更加令人滿足了! 特別一讚成品以martini的別致造型上檯,滿足口腹之慾同時,也帶來視覺上的愉悅享受呢!

相比前一款鵝肝,接著的
Cappuccino, Porcini mushroom cappuccino的賣相就不怎麼起眼了,不過此湯除了熱度超足,牛肝菌的香氣也實在很濃郁迷人,湯身又柔滑細膩,質素也是令人滿意的。

Nicholini's sherbet作為間場,來清一清味蕃;sherbet是raspberry口味,喜歡它冰感不重,反之果味非常濃厚,平日不喜吃雪葩的我也非常欣賞!

Nicholini's主打北意大利菜,來到必然要試它的pasta,
Spaghettini, Spaghettini with carbonara sauce and egg confit作為其中一款店內推介,意粉的口感的確不俗,流心蛋也很美味,不過味道實在太鹹啦! 不同早前在澳門Bene所吃的濃郁,而是太多鹽的死鹹.... 以$385碟的價錢,不太值呢!

另一主菜是
Veal Scaloppini, Green Asparagus and Porcini Marsala Sauce,本來挺欣賞它面層有大量火箭及沙律菜的,很可惜主角的牛仔肉又是超鹹! 我只吃了一片已經受不了,唯有改攻沙律及牛肝菌好了,它們的味道倒是不錯的。

是晚的主菜不合意,幸而甜品環節比預期更為高質,特別是位上的
Pre-dessert上場時,檯上一片煙霧迷漫(拍照之時已經遲了...),帶來無比驚喜! 其實那是一款檸檬奶凍,口味微酸得來柔和清新,質感也無比細膩柔滑,在飽餐一頓後是個冰涼又清爽的間場,輕輕的喚醒了甜胃,以為之後甜品作好準備!

Il Souffle, Nicholini’s Soufflé with choices of sauce又帶來更大的驚艷感:香氣撲鼻、巨大又鬆軟的疏乎厘,總共會拌以四款不同風味的醬汁上檯,全部都很吸引! 自問為人比較貪心,得知前後可揀兩款醬汁之多,朱古力醬當然就是首選,之後又在面層加上雲尼拿醬,成品香噴噴的氣味迷人不得了,我要開動啦! 要讚經歷拍照又加醬過程後,疏乎厘並不會很快就倒塌下去,屬於鬆軟綿柔得來,不會一陣風的質感,令人欣賞;口味方面,輕柔迷人的蛋白甜香味,交融了香滑雲尼拿醬以及濃郁朱古力醬,確是非常的美妙,好好吃!

然後,寫上Happy Anniversary的
La Selezione Di Dolci, dessert sampler for 2也上檯了! 這款甜品併盤,總共囊括了四款甜品之多,加上之前的souffle,基本上可以將餐廳的甜品試均了;當然份量會較為精緻,但對胃口漸細的媽媽來講也算足夠。經歷甜蜜合照後,就要趁快開動了,因為當中的Cassata Siciliana(意式雪糕批)挺快就融,味道還不錯的;接著品嚐Panna Cotta, vanilla beans panna cotta, berries,奶凍很滑,不過二人都覺pre-dessert的版本其實來得更清新可喜,這款奶凍反而是同上雜莓更吸引。再試迷你版的Il Tiramisu, Nicholini’s tiramisu,真可惜成品並沒迷人酒香,質感也不夠濕潤吸引,慶幸沒有選點大的;最後Millefoglie Al Cioccolato, chocolate mille feuille就超級美味了,因為成品清脆不得了,中間的朱古力慕絲又香濃柔滑誘人,組合起來實在很是完美,絕對可以整份叫,再飽應該也吃得完!

是晚很乖沒有點酒,最後老公就以杯頗為香醇
Cappuccino來為這頓美好的晚餐作結吧,同時也享用了餐廳奉上的Petit Fours,其中下層餅乾可以完全不理,但上層的朱古力/榛果就超級好吃,香甜美味極了,吃不完也帶回家給寶寶分享了(說到底還是有點掛念小魔怪的)!

雖然餐牌定價不算便宜,不過HSBC白金卡有七折優惠,折後也算是物有所值的一頓,很滿足。同時回想4年前的當天,實在很感恩當日天朗氣清,兩口子留下了美好的回憶;不知明年的8/1,又會是怎樣的時光呢? 
题外话/补充资料: 當晚其實非常大頭蝦,忘了帶相機電池;特別鳴謝Oli仗義借出相機應急,為重要日子的晚上留下美好回憶!

因為一個禮拜前book左,是HSBC 生日優為,所以有紅酒及一磅蛋糕送!我們坐窗口位,但是是右邊最窄的二人枱,不可打對面坐,要L形坐,眼見我們到時其他二人枱都未滿,有點委屈,但可能D人一早book晒,咁我就無出聲! 侍應一來就問我們要香檳定水,我們說有coupon,叫佢上枝紅酒,佢又問咁要唔要still or sparkling water, 咁我們就要sparkling. 跟著經理就介紹牛扒,我們無興趣,反而叫了兩個湯加兩個dish. D菜未上時有待應拿麵包來,我揀了三個,脆條同法包好好味,有olive oil同vinegar點。湯來了,牛肝菌湯用碗上好濃味好好飲,海鮮湯用碟上,感覺少D,味道都未及牛肝菌湯啊! D waiter 好attentive! 成日走來加水,服務超好,不過太熱心,未得口頭同意就自己開多枝水。麪包又好食!牛仔膝好夠林,配D芝士濃味risotto 好惹味。我們還叫了方意粉,海膽,都幾入味,但因牛膝好濃味,所以有D蓋過意粉。佢地每度菜之間都會送一個小食或者refreshing的凍沙冰,好體貼!當上甜品前,又有一度乾冰布典,朱古力蛋糕甜得來有高級雪糕配,最後一個hi

The food from the buffet table is of many choices and the quality is perfect, except the lobster and the crab. All the main courses are wonderful too! For Sunday brunch, Adult is HKD668 + 10%, Kids (under 11 years old) is HKD348 + 10%. A bit expensive. If enjoying free flow of champagne, have to pay HKD100 + 10% on top.

期待已久嘅頭盤自助餐今日終於有機會品嘗到388元有得食晒以下頭盤同埋一個pasta, 所以兩個人就揀左番茄龍蝦天使麵番茄汁唔算濃, 但味道清新, 略帶茄酸味, 麵質適中, 始終難煮得爽寬條麵質地al dante, 對於喜歡食有嚼頭的本人十分喜歡, 薄荷汁清新, 而碟中主菜就中規中矩, 始終我最愛吃的是麵不是蝦啊!頭盤自助餐最愛露荀, 清甜, 無渣, 爽脆, parma ham 味道濃郁, 鹹香沙律汁調得十分香滑, 但芝士味唔算濃, 對於唔中意芝士ge我十分適合, 菜十分新鮮, 清爽, 配以煙肉碎, 醒胃!還配以多種麵包, 當中grissini, olive bread, 牛角包味道出眾!

沙律汁調得十分香滑, 但芝士味唔算濃, 對於唔中意芝士ge我十分適合, 菜十分新鮮, 清爽, 配以煙肉碎, 醒胃!

Always thought that it is pressurized and strict when dinning in Hotel.today, impression totally changed.When year goes by, I have higher expectation in food quality, e.g. taste like scallop when I'm taking scallop, taste like beef when I'm taking beef. This missing taste has been lost for years.Now I found it back in NicholiniFollow the recommended set dinner. 吃過各式麵包,首先來的是餐前小吃「Salad Toast with Cheese」,以青瓜蕃茄等蔬菜粒伴以薄薄的芝士汁,放在烘得香脆的小多士上,製作小巧而不失清新感覺,適合作為開胃菜式。

接着來的是頭盤「Scallops and Sicilian Prawns with Caviar Sauce」,帶子用料新鮮,經煎煮後味道既香又味美。西西里蝦的製作更為出色,除肉質結實爽口外,蝦味非常濃郁,尤以蝦頭沾上少許蝦膏的地方更為吸引
,可惜只有一隻,實感不足
。魚子醬汁方面,個人覺得不太特別,魚子味道略為薄弱,欠缺鹹香,質感亦有欠彈性,此處可作改善。另外,店員點出碟旁有兩小棵自家製的檸檬啫厘,味道清清的,頗為特別,可以一試。

第二道菜式可選餐湯或鵝肝小吃。餐湯有海鮮、蘑菇及意大利菜湯供選擇,最後選了後者(Minestrone)品嚐。平日喝的意大利菜湯,大多包含菜蔬、雜豆、意粉等等,這兒的菜湯則主要以「菜」為主,其他食材為次,味道微酸,平實清淡。至於鵝肝小吃(Pan-seared Foie Gras with Black Summer Truffle),有別其他餐廳的鵝肝香煎後原塊奉上,這先的鵝肝經煎煮後切粒,伴上數片黑松露置於小酒杯中,賣相較為特別吸引。不過,亦因鵝肝經切粒後,外脆內軟的口感有所流失,原應吸引的油香味道亦不夠結實。雖有數片黑松露以添香氣,還是未能完全補償其中所失之處。

主菜方面,一氣試了鱸魚扒、茄醬龍蝦天使麵及西冷扒牛面頰。鱸魚扒(Grilled Seabass Steak with Sea Urchin Sauce)用料佳,肉質結實肥厚,屬合水準之作。茄醬龍蝦天使麵(Angel Hair Pasta with Lobster, Tomatoes and Basil)為此店的signature dish之一,水準有保證。先談蕃茄醬汁,份量恰巧能完全沾上天使麵上,不多不少,稀稠得當,不會給人醬汁過於水溜溜的感覺。亦因如此,醬汁的濃郁感亦有所提升。當然,所選用的蕃茄用料上佳亦是醬汁好吃的原因。天使麵方面,烹調時間準確,麵條口感仍在。龍蝦方面,和之前的西西里蝦相映成趣,肉質結實甜味,值得推介
!至於西冷扒牛面頰(Roaster US Sirloin and Slow-braised Beef Cheek),六成熟的西冷扒面泛粉紅,火喉同樣控制準確,肉汁非常豐富,口感鬆軟。雖然肉香仍不及dry-aged的牛扒,但仍屬水準之作
。相較之下,雖牛面頰的肉汁不及西冷牛扒,但肉質非常非常軟腍,肉香亦勝一籌。除部位不同外,慢火炆煮的烹調手法亦要記一功


飽吃多款主菜後,稍作休息,又到甜品時間。先來的是pre-dessert「Pineapple "Yogurt"」,面上的新鮮菠蘿粒味道清甜,下方的"Yogurt"白滑可口,配上獨特的匙羹裝飾,視覺味覺雙重享受
。另一signature dish的「Nicholini's Souffle」,份量不少,外表豐滿美味。因疏乎厘本質較甜,配上帶酸的紅莓或熱情果醬最為合適。質感方面,疏乎厘的內層入口亦見溶化,雖不及半島酒店的疏乎厘出色,品質仍令人滿意
。多心的朋友可選甜品拼盤(Chef's Special Dessert Sampler),一碟附有四款甜品,包括有綿花糖、tiramisu、雪糕批及朱古力心太軟。綿花糖不太甜,味道似酒家吃到的兔仔綿花糖,只是質感腍一點。Tiramisu酒香處處,口味合預期。一件雪糕批帶有多款滑溜雪糕口味,多添數重享受。朱古力心太軟味道濃郁,看着內層的朱古力醬緩緩溢出,那份引誘甚能抵擋
?!

餐後配上香濃咖啡一杯及小吃拼盤(Petits Four)一碟[內含濃郁朱古力及杏仁餅仔等等],為整頓晚餐劃上完美的句號


最後一談港麗酒店的服務,的確值得一讚。訂枱兩天前曾要求電郵餐牌一看,不消幾分鐘已寄上,值得一讚
。用餐時間店員態度要好,拉櫈換碟加水等服務週到,再讚
