Came here for lunch with a few friends. Came here for lunch with a few friends. Liked the decor initially, very old school booths and tables, I believe they've kept the decor from back in the day.

Food: Ordered roasted pigeon; steamed ox tongue; Swiss style chicken wings. First of all, the steamed ox tongue is not for the faint of heart. You need to be the type to really like ox tongue to begin with or forget about ordering this. I was expecting thin slices of ox tongue like they prepare it in Korean bbq restaurants - but no, this dish came with very thick sliced ox-tongue, just salt steamed, so its really in your face. It was decent, but I couldnt get over the fact that I was chewing such a large piece of tongue, so I couldnt enjoy it. The roasted pigeon had quite tasty crispy skin however the meat itself is very dry. The swiss style chicken wings were the best dish, with right level of sweetness with their marinade. However, the chicken wings were quite fatty, and the taste only stayed with the skin - so if you peel off the skin, the meat only isn't quite enough.

Service: Bad service. We literally had to wave our hands and wave down waiters for them to pay attention to us.

Sizing it up: Its a nostalgic spot for many to go to and I do commend them for keeping the place and food to its original character. However, the food was just average and service was poor, so this does not warrant another visit from me. Good luck.

看見鄰桌的超巨型梳乎厘,確有震撼感覺。不過連加一過百的代價又似乎有點不值,結果忍手,只要兩個餐試試。瑞士雞翼是其招牌菜,不過黑漆漆的瑞士汁,味道不覺得有什麼特別。雞翼原隻上,不用手的話,吃起來着實有點狼狽。雞翼皮算爽脆兼滑,但是雞肉本身無味!缽酒焗鮮牛尾則有點驚喜。牛尾是連皮的,皮肉頗腍滑,只是難免感覺膩了一些。跟餐甜品細小得很,質素又普通,如同連鎖餅店的半件西餅。莫非料定客人必叫梳乎厘?侍應人手充足,效率亦高。不過與一般舊式茶餐廳相似,中年侍應只有最基本的禮貌水平,而且邊做邊講馬,似乎不應出現在中價西餐廳中。

以為年初一個個去晒食中餐, 原來呢度都依舊客似雲來 !點了情人節二人餐, 上菜十分快 (略嫌不夠情調呢) 但味道是不錯的牛柳煎得剛好古法chong魚好香口dessert 冇得揀....麻麻地不過大時大節都算 acceptable 喇

三点零經過,因好幾年冇食過所以入去試吓.結果…好細碟既干炒牛河, 共4小件牛肉, 河炒得好油但好淡. 唉..連杯奶茶都好失敗.埋單$50再加一, $55, 當我攞返所有找續既時候, 可能阿侍應叔叔覺得佢既服務應該得到相當既tips…所以佢見到我一蚊都冇留底既同時, 佢將張單”飛”落我到.一間咁老字號既鋪, 管理層應該要多d時間留意吓可能有部份員工做得極唔間心.好容易瓌招牌.

老細請食團年飯, 我們只有三個人, 老細又想試太平館, 去去去! 出發!原來下午有套餐的, 我們一人一個餐, 再加一碟雞翼. 我要的是白灼牛舌意, 好味啊! 牛舌好香, 意粉沒有汁, 不過I like it! 雞翼還是用新鮮的, 鮮味十足 可是老細喜歡吃冷凍的食品, 反而不喜歡鮮味的, 奇怪的人試了一下老細的咖哩蝦, 好辣! 他也說很辣 羅宋湯很有懷舊的味道 包也不錯總括來說, 午餐值是很抵食的!

唔想食招牌菜瑞士雞翼, 牛河, 牛舌, 叫咗焗海鮮飯 同牛柳焗海鮮飯OK, 不過大蝦好咸, 魚柳有D腥牛柳有D乾, 仲脆波波, 估佢唔到牛尾湯無邊度有, 一試再試..結論係, 都係食招牌菜喇p.s. 寧願等都唔好坐門口位, 真係好辛苦架

I am a loyal diner at Tai Ping Koon (太平館餐廳) not only for its consistency in terms of food quality but also the homely feeling of its environment. It seemed to have the same decor as 5 years ago when I first visited and with the same strong air conditioning blowing right on top of your head! Don't expect top-notch services but do except skilled and extremely responsive services from the team of experienced staff. Tai Ping Koon is very famous for its Swiss Chicken Wings or more accurately the so-called Swiss sauce (瑞士汁). While items with Swiss sauce were good, my favorite item remains to be the ox-tongue.

(1) Tea
I am a coffee person but for some odd reasons, I ordered tea tonight. I am glad that I did because otherwise I would not have the chance to see something I haven't encountered for a long while which is the stainless steel "tea filter"! Of course you may see it in those upscale establishment serving traditional English after tea sets but at local Chinese food joints, it is becoming a rare item. Well, it wasn't the greatest tea but it was comforting especially a DIY cup of tea instead of those Hong Kong styled milk tea with everything added already.

(2) Boiled Corned Ox-tongue
It was salty but it was salty in a very delicious way. It looked plain but not the taste for sure. When I say the salty flavor was very complex, it was very complex indeed. It may sound crazy but I was making the following noises while eating this with spoonful of rice: HUMMM, YUMMM, HUMM followed by another series of HUMMMMs. It was a simple boiled ox-tongue yet very satisfying indeed! Soft and tender: who needs wagyu beef, this ox-tongue almost melted in my mouth as well!

Likes:

* Boiled Corned Ox-tongue - salty but in a good and delicious way.
* Boiled Corned Ox-tongue - soft and tender! almost melted in my mouth
* Boiled Corned Ox-tongue - generous portions
* (ooops, did I repeat my Likes? ... o well)

Dislikes:

* Air Conditioning too strong and too cold!

Avg Spending: HKD 100 - 200 per person

瑞士汁牛河今日去咗太平館食下午茶, 因為係weekday, 所以冇乜人, 個伯伯waiter比個卡位我坐, 寬敞又舒服, 冷氣又夠, 食嘢心情勁靚!個下午茶menu有好多樣嘢我都想食, 瑞士汁牛河, 瑞士汁雞翼,蝦多士... 因為都幾肚餓, 所以都係order最美味同飽肚嘅瑞士汁牛河, $50連凍飲, 加埋一都係$55. 抵到爛. 個河粉有好多瑞士汁, 牛肉又腍又入味, 超好味呀! 份量頗多, 當lunch食都夠飽.之後嗰兩日, 我都係去太平館食下午茶, 因為實在太想食瑞士汁雞翼同埋蝦多士.瑞士汁雞翼食瑞士汁雞翼嗰日, 我要拎個samsung電話去upgrade個firmware, 原本想食完先至去金朝陽中心samsung service centre. 點知落order時, 個伯伯waiter話雞翼要等起碼四五個字, 我猶豫叫唔叫d快d嘅嘢食, 咁早d去samsung 唔駛等咁耐, 但我又好想好想食瑞士汁雞翼, 所以都係叫咗. 我就利用等雞翼嘅時間去埋samsung. 我同伯伯waiter講轉頭嚟, 不如我擺低錢, 佢話唔駛啦唔駛啦, 我番嚟時見到雞翼已經嚟咗, 重用個蓋cup住.

食瑞士汁雞翼嗰日, 我要拎個samsung電話去upgrade個firmware, 原本想食完先至去金朝陽中心samsung service centre. 點知落order時, 個伯伯waiter話雞翼要等起碼四五個字, 我猶豫叫唔叫d快d嘅嘢食, 咁早d去samsung 唔駛等咁耐, 但我又好想好想食瑞士汁雞翼, 所以都係叫咗. 我就利用等雞翼嘅時間去埋samsung. 我同伯伯waiter講轉頭嚟, 不如我擺低錢, 佢話唔駛啦唔駛啦, 我番嚟時見到雞翼已經嚟咗, 重用個蓋cup住. 可惜我個電話擺低咗响samsung, 影唔到嗰3隻瑞士汁雞翼(全翼)配薯仔(有得揀意粉). d雞翼非常入味同好腍, 但係因為係全翼, 所以好難控制, 除非用手食.

蝦多士
之後嗰日去攞番個電話前又去太平館, 食埋個蝦多士, 了埋個心願. 細個時好鐘意食蝦多士, 但係e家唔係好多地方有得食.
蝦多士嘅份量唔多, 大約半塊至1/3塊方包嘅size, 上面隻蝦都幾大隻, 橫誇塊麵包趴响上面, 塊飽炸得脆脆地, 如果冇咁燶會好d,. 伴碟仲有沙律, 估唔到好美味!
好可惜未攞番電話, 又影唔到個蝦多士.

食咁多次太平館(之前食過晚餐), 佢哋d食物都真係冇失手, 穩穩陣陣. 每次食晚餐都想叫佢哋嘅梳乎厘(又係唔係好多地方有得食), 但兩個人食, 份量好似太多, 食過嘅都知佢個梳乎厘係巨型嘅. 希望下次食到啦!

It was a great suprise, the food is pretty good, you could hardly find this type of traditional HK style cafe that could be that good. As usual, the waiter were extremely bad in their service, long & black faces... what's wrong with them ?? What make them that unahppy in serving cusotmer.The beef tongue was great in their tomatoes sauce, recommend !!The soup was the best of the best, real real real good , very strong favour.. Must try !!Very home made egg mince beef rice, taste ok.... veyr home

今天下午,我到太平館買瑞士汁雞翼和瑞士汁炒牛河的外賣回家, 打算作為今天的晚餐, 點知入到去d服務真係好好…好差!( 諗算la買外 Only , d服務差都無所為la)點知到左晚飯時候,打開盒外賣瑞士汁雞翼 , 諗往食個時見到一d不知名物體 ,在盒內的雞翼上面, 之後睇真D覺得好似一隻昆蟲的殘肢而且好大隻…, 覺得好嘔心. 最慘係個雞翼成 $100+ 而家都吳知食吳食好…….

四點左右行街街行到又熱又攰,見太平館就腳,特登鼠入黎食個梳乎厘補一補叫左個梳乎厘2人餐 $98+1由我地落柯打到黎等左半個多鐘,好彩我地唔趕時間姐(不過個茶市唔多客,唔知點解都要等咁耐,一度懷疑焗衰左要再焗過)~~梳乎厘一黎香爆全場,一望仲大過人個頭佢個外皮好脆,入面個芯打得好起,食起上黎好輕,唔覺漏,而圍住個盆則邊D皮好濃蛋香味,食完再飲杯咖啡,一流~~

佢個外皮好脆,入面個芯打得好起,食起上黎好輕,唔覺漏,而圍住個盆則邊D皮好濃蛋香味,食完再飲杯咖啡,一流~~

琴晚同朋友去咗食,叫咗以下食物:瑞士汁雞翼芝士焗肉醬意粉soflee埋單 $328先講個瑞士汁–我都煮倒呀…咪似係魯水汁加多啲糖、老抽同麻油咋喎?!普通過普通人芝士焗肉醬意粉部份芝士焗燶咗,應該係落普通 cheddar 嚟焗冇乜特別好感,同美心、大家樂應該差不多soflee–得個大字之外,唔係特別香,唔太甜,合格咋呢間只係似一間好少少既茶餐廳,咁既價錢,我唔想再去。名過於實話雖如此,但成晚都好好生意,到九點零都仲有好多人等位,大多數係被鈞既遊客。服務呢,真係好似之前啲食客咁講, 0 service...........環境都…好嘈呀,冇情調可言。衞生方面:啲濕毛巾…有點油膩!

我先到,很久沒有進入一間suppose不用自己搵位但最後也是要自己搵位的餐廳。坐低後才有人問『幾位?』...要了個二人set ($315)1) salad - 蝦幾大隻,但普通茶餐廳也可以吃到2) 龍蝦湯 - 又係普通茶餐廳也有的東西3) 瑞士汁炒牛河 - 牛肉過嫩,不像『肉』,不自然…味道ok,不過好油好油4) 招牌雞翼 - 不知為何是招牌菜,對我來說只是普通有汁的雞翼5) 餐包 - 若然我不是太餓我也不會吃,因為真的不太好吃,任何一間bakery的包也會比它好6) drinks - 凍檸樂要加 $10,自己買檸檬加可樂好過7) dessert - 蛋糕是我小學時會吃的西餅,不是特別好吃,只是喜歡懷舊的感覺總括來說,三百幾蚊吃茶餐廳食物,真奢侈…一定不會再來

總括來說,三百幾蚊吃茶餐廳食物,真奢侈…一定不會再來

久聞此餐廳出名乳鴿及瑞士雞翼, 咁大個女都未試過, 還掂又未想到去邊個地方食.
好啦, 便來一次吧..
叫了一個二人套餐,
個湯真係落足料既,
沙律和炒河只屬一般,
瑞士汁雞翼幾好食..但唔係超好食,
CAKE (DESERT) IS VERY BAD

300幾蚊兩個人, 抵唔抵見人見至,
SERVICES PASSED, OK..

我認為合格LAW, BUT香港越來越少呢類型既餐廳未去過仍是值得一去既

某個星期五放學後, 還未吃晚飯的我跟同學們吃 late dinner.同學們提議太平館餐廳, 肚子打鼓, 反正沒有異議, 三個人就走進了裡~一如其他分店, 懷舊 look 配老伙記; 趁還有多點時間, 叫了肉醬意粉, 瑞士雞翼, 焗葡國雞飯和梳乎厘.肉醬意粉好入味, 肉醬跟意粉比例剛好, 肉醬入味但不鹹, 很有水準.一向對這裡的瑞士雞翼印象麻麻, 貴得來我媽媽弄的還好過, 是次未令到我對它改觀. 不過雞翼肥美卻是無可否認的.焗葡國雞飯又如何? 表面有少許焦了, 有皮有眼; 飯也有著葡國汁的香味, 雞也幾有肉地.最尾的梳乎厘勁大, 印象深刻, 連隔離位的同胞都不禁嘩的一聲, 吃下好鬆軟, 好像吃了好多個好軟的紙包蛋糕般.很來這個梳乎厘才慢慢變小, 很得意呢!吃得幾乎收爐我們才捨得走, 捧著肚子離開.好開心認識同學仔都是在楓葉國留學, 有多點共通話題.

吃得幾乎收爐我們才捨得走, 捧著肚子離開.
好開心認識同學仔都是在楓葉國留學, 有多點共通話題.
