Named after the luxury spirit, Wu Liang Ye Dining is an upscale Chinese restaurant located in Causeway Bay that focuses on modern Chiu Chow dishes. 🥢 Pic 1️⃣: 金不換燉鮮鮑魚 - $198 hkd 🐚 — Never tried Thai basil in Chinese soup before so this was super unique! Pic 1️⃣: 金不換燉鮮鮑魚 - $198 hkd 🐚
— Never tried Thai basil in Chinese soup before so this was super unique! Flavours went surprisingly well together and the aromas of the basil complemented the delicate flavours of the abalone nicely. The soup base was really rich, flavourful and well balanced.


Pic 2️⃣: 潮汕浸花甲 (凍食) - $238 hkd
— Must order here! Clams are insanely fresh and full of flavour from being soaked in a preserved fish sauce and basil.


Pic 3️⃣: 百花水晶鷹鯧球 - 時價/market price 🐠
— Beautifully presented and did not disappoint. The braised pomfret is wrapped in a thin caul fat layer which gives it an undeniable aroma and unique texture. The fish had a firm texture, with a tinge of sweetness to it. Other half of the ball is a bouncy prawn filling which was super well seasoned.


Pic 4️⃣: 炸普寧豆腐 & 傳統炸蝦棗 - $168 hkd & $160 hkd 🍤
— Another signature and must order combo. The tofu was insanely light and went so well with the savoury dipping sauce. The shrimp dumplings were well seasoned, and had a good crunch to them.


Pic 5️⃣: 家鄉鹹雞 (半隻) - $368 hkd 🐔
— SO good! The marinade was on point and the chicken was so tender and juicy. Made with freshly grated ginger, the sauce on the side resembles what you might find in 沙薑雞, but this one has a much fresher and lighter profile.


Pic 6️⃣: 滷水鵝片 & 普寧豆腐 - $200 & $90 hkd 🪿
— Not usually a fan of goose but this changed my mind. Without the gamey flavours, the goose was really well marinated and tender.


Pic 7️⃣: 香煎牙帶魚 - $100 hkd 🐟
— Ribbon fish is hard to come by nowadays so we had to get this. Perfectly pan-fried to give it that crispy exterior, the fish didn’t need much seasoning to shine through.


Pic 8️⃣: 五糧液炒時蔬 - $288 hkd up 🥬
— The flavours and aromas of the spirit really come out in this dish, but it’s quite sweet for a vegetable dish.


Pic 9️⃣: 老橄欖燉響螺 & 胡椒鹹菜鮮豬肚湯 - $288 hkd & $98 hkd 🥣
— Both soups were outstanding but the olive and sea whelk one was a nice surprise as the olive really elevated the flavours of the sea whelk and added an earthy, nutty dimension to it.

— Buns were warm and soft, lotus paste was perfectly smooth and sweetened.
