Totally excited after the field trip at SHEUNG WAN, when I was thinking which cafe to attend, there we came along to this traditional tea house! The very first challenge was Hunt Your Table, without concierge, without any lining systems of which we need to observe which tables are almost done and we better be quick to stay close to it and make our colony. It could be real fast to secure a table for small group, says 2-4 persons and it took us around 5 mins on a hustle Sunday lunch hour. (Lucky u
The very first challenge was Hunt Your Table, without concierge, without any lining systems of which we need to observe which tables are almost done and we better be quick to stay close to it and make our colony.
It could be real fast to secure a table for small group, says 2-4 persons and it took us around 5 mins on a hustle Sunday lunch hour. (Lucky us!) We attended a table for 4 but we only had 2 of us and thus we gotta share the table with another group of customer.
Not yet on the food, the next challenge was how to pick up your hot utensils from the boiling water !!
With the Dim Sum ordering card, we can eventually HUNT for our FOOD!! There's lots of tactics, be it seeing lots of people surrounding the little steaming cart or be the first to pick the flavourable best seller!
One of the interesting gestures from the customers was flipping the bamboo lid to peek what's in it! (Later on, we discovered there are Chinese writing of menu at the frontier of the cart which always being covered.... by the crowd )
Most of the Dim Sum looks similar to any other restaurants served but when we got the first bite of steam cake (Ma Lie Go), we were totally busted! It's soft and fluffy, most places served it with water droplet and gluey!
Another surprise goes to the Cheung Fun, unbelievably silky and smooth but without any greasiness. Unfortunately, we fail to secure other flavouring and ended up we had beef which is least preferred but still tasty. Be it shrimp or BBQ pork or beef, they are all at the same price.
It's a very noisy place but everyone are pleasant and helpful.
