(左) Japanese Margarita:入口同平時的Magarita唔同,冇平時鹽的咸味,反而飲到酒的甜味為主。加上檸檬的味道,非常易入口又好味。

(右)Lychee and Rose Martini:味道偏甜岩女仔飲,荔枝味好香,因為有果汁,所以Martini的味道唔會辣口。

相比之下,比較喜歡Margarita,味道比較濃,岩男仔飲。但兩杯野飲都唔錯,環境都好舒服。可以一試!

值得一提的是,她們在端菜上來的時候,雖然是同一張枱,但會有不同的服務員端給你,這也是米芝蓮級數餐廳的做法;印象最深刻的是去年到訪倫敦的 Gordon Ramsay,他們是米芝蓮三星級數,枱子不多,坐到約二十人左右,而他們前後有五位服務員來招呼我們。

整體而言,以每人到後來 HKD600 的消費來說,有點偏貴;不過我也說,有一半去了租金,那如果當成是 HKD300 一位的價錢而言,我可以接受。

你可能會覺得我的要求比較高,但請你留意,當去到 HKD500 一位以上的餐廳時,一個人有要求絕對合理;也絕無可能像吃 HKD38.00 一位有湯有茶有飲品的快餐一樣,只要快及可以入口,東西乾淨就可以。

如你打算來,你沒有特別優惠,你極有可能要去到 HKD1,000 一位的消費,所以你必定要慎重考慮。

我環顧四週,看看這裏的客人,一半以上是外國人,這就對了。

有甚麼對?日式餐廳,如果好吃,應該要有日本人來的,但我沒有留意到。

多外國人,也很合理,因為要他們評價日式食物,未必會如日本人或亞洲人一樣敏感。

我又想起在倫敦時,當時要去九天歐洲,當時真的思念病發作,無論如何也要找些亞洲食物來吃,雲吞麵也好,日本刺身壽司也好。

結果在購物區 Oxford Circuits 找到了一間日式餐廳,消費每人去到四百多,吃的是很一般的食物;但也覺得很好味。

而當天的食物質素,和這裏完全一樣。

再翻看 Zuma 的歷史,原來他們是在倫敦起家的,這就很合理了。

如果要實質一點去 benchmark,到銅鑼環吃的日式壽司店,只要消費是在 HKD500 以上一個晚餐,必然會比這裏好吃。

當然,我話說在前頭,Landmark 5/F,其貴租可想而知,所以你要有預算,你的消費,有一半去了租金。

Went to Yi-ming's Botanic Fantasy Fashion Show 2016 which was held at Zuma.After the show, there was FOOD~!I loved the sushi rolls especially the creamy avocado and salmon.The cucumber and sesame one was good too.They were so good that you can't stop eating them.

Zuma is a contemporary Japanese restaurant located in the Landmark, it has two floors with the upper floor being a lounge and bar while the lower one is the restaurant. We ordered the premium daikoku tasting menu, and got started with a Spicy Lobster Miso Soup. Although the staff accidentally spilled some of the soup when serving, she apologized profusely and replaced the soup so it was not giving us a very negative impression. The soup got a good spicy hotness but still having nice lobster and miso taste, without overpowering them. Certainly a good beginning of the meal.
Sliced Chu Toro Chili, Coriander and Sesame

The first appetizer was a Sliced Chu Toro Chili, with Coriander and Sesame. The thinly sliced toro was very fresh and got a good texture, mixing well with the sesame and coriander. A couple of deep fried garlic slices further enhancing both the flavor and contrasting the toro with the a crispiness.
Japanese Wagyu Tataki with Truffle Ponzu

The other appetizer was a Japanese Wagyu Tataki with Truffle Ponzu. The beef was seared perfectly showing the layers of pinkness and burgundy color inside, melting in the mouth and also having the intense flavors of beef. The chives helped to lower the fatty palate, giving a lightness to the dish.
Wild Fish Sashimi

Then came the Wild Fish Sashimi, with three different types of fish. I don't know the names in English but each were added an extra dimension with condiments like black garlic, yuzu shave and a citrus sauce. The fish was so fresh with each having different texture, and the flavors are so intense I did not pair with any wasabi in order to enjoy the true taste.

Next was the Sushi which included Sea Urchin, Squid and Tuna. The sea urchin brought back my fond memories of the fantastic ones I had in Sapporo last year, and the squid was cut with great skill, being chewy but not rubbery, very easy to eat. The tuna was the highlight, however, with the right fattiness to give the strong tuna flavors without any bad experience like eating a piece of greasy fat.

The hot dishes included a Mentaiko Scallop of huge size, seared on the surface nicely with a good buttery taste while retaining the original scallop flavors, plus some fresh herbs on top to enrich.

The other dish was a Tempura which included fish and a veggie. I did not ask what exactly the fish and veggie so could not share in more details. But suffice to say it was all very nice. The tempura was fried without any oily and checking on the paper beneath you won't find any oil stain which really showed the skill of the chef again.

To the main course now we got a Ribeye steak that was paired with different sauces and sea salt, which was surprisingly big in portion. Personally I would rate this as so-so probably because there were quite a bit of tendon making it a bit too chewy in certain parts, but the seasoning was done superbly and the beef was also juicy.

The other main was a Grilled Seabass, with a nice sauce complementing. Again the grill was perfect with the fish, despite its thick size, seared well on the surface but not overcooked, while inside the fish was well cooked but still tender.

Finally on the dessert it was a platter which included a chocolate lava cake, two home-made ice-cream of vanilla and sesame, a raspberry panna-cotta, and some assortment of fresh fruit. Already very full by then, I could not finish all but also comparatively the dessert was relatively standard and did not have much wow factor for us.
Service was fairly good, with the waiter friendly and attentive, but my suggestion was to explain further the dishes in more details to customers. On the night I had also a bottle of Dassai 23 sake and a bottled water, with the total bill being $3,724. Considering the amount of food, its quality, atmosphere and service, I would say it was a much higher value for money than I would expect.
My overall rating is 78/100.

The salmon was pretty. It was tender and savoury in taste, a bit oily but was the salmon oil. The sauce at the side definitely brought up the flavour of the salmon.

這個星期六下午來到,特地來吃週末Weekend Brunch,每位HK$450,餐單上的酒類於該指定時段內是任飲(Free flow)的,飲品包括多款特製的Cocktails,以及冰茶和啤酒等。價錢並不便宜,但能夠Free Flow飲品,也是一大賣點。

Tokusen Maki To Nigiri Platter (特選壽司拼盤),三文魚壽司用料並不怎樣肥美,較為乾身。反而菠菜芝士卷更為清新。而整體來說,雖然佈置整齊,但總是欠缺壽司應有的新鮮感。

Sumibiyaki Moriawase (爐端拼盤,包括牛肉串、雞翼、燒三文魚、烤粟米、蘑菇和露筍),十分豐富,每款串燒味道對板,但端上時不是熱騰騰的,而是暖的。

以上的食物都偏向西方人口味,未必是香港仔那杯茶。雖然食物份量不少,但因為蔬菜類多,感覺仍然很Green。

這裡的氣氛實在很熱鬧,沒有星期六的懶洋洋,令人感到很像晚上的樣子。估不到日間也很有夜店的氣氛,實在是一個朋友聚會兼喝喝酒的型英帥之選。

Life can be so unpredictable sometimes - I had my Saturday afternoon all planned out but when my friend asked me if I wanted to check out Zuma's new brunch concept the morning of, all plans went out the door! Located in the Landmark, Zuma is a restaurant chain with locations around the world and its food is inspired by the Japanese izakaya-style dining where food is continuously brought to the table. I have always loved the weekend brunch at Zuma with its free flow champagne, bellini and buffet of Japanese food but the new brunch concept "Saturday Session" is slightly different with free flow cocktails and a set menu instead from 2:30-5pm at HK$450 per person. It's like a lighter version of the regular brunch to start your Saturday evening early that won't leave you comatose (hopefully!) after ingesting unlimited alcohol and food - besides who doesn't love brunch with free flow cocktails!

As much as I love champagne and bellini, the cocktails at Zuma are equally impressive and out-of-this-world! I loved this fruity Yuzu and Mandarin Cosmo with Absolut vodka, mandarin, yuzu and cranberry which put a Japanese twist on this classic drink.

The guys would probably prefer the Smoked Peanut Butter Old Fashioned with Chivas 12 year whisky, chocolate bitter, chamomile and smoke but even though I don't like to drink whisky, the peanut butter actually worked wonders here in balancing out the whisky and making it so smooth to drink!

The Lillet Spritzer with lillet blanc, peach liquer, citronella and prosecco was not only pretty but also delightful with a dryer and stronger alcohol taste.

The Tokusen Maki to Nigiri Platter was one of the mains with a variety of sushi and maki rolls! It's very much a westernized version of sushi so while die-hard Japanese sushi fans may not be satisfied here, the fish were definitely fresh and delicious in its own way.

The other main dish was this Sumibiyaki Moriawase robata platter with beef skewers, chicken wings, salmon teriyaki, grilled corn, mushrooms and asparagus. I loved the spices that gave the corns and beef a spicy kick while the salmon was soft and flaky to eat.

We ended with this seasonal fruit platter which to be honest was a bit of a let down because I have a sweet tooth and I would have preferred some kind of dessert or ice cream at least for our sweet ending!

醉翁之意不在吃。

這個周末 Brunch 的食物不算豐富,焦點放在 Free Flow 的酒精及無酒精飲品,更包括了 Absolute Vodka 以及 Chivas 元素。有時候,吃 Brunch 更注重享受生活以及跟親朋交流,像 Zuma 這個 Brunch 可以一直添飲,就最適合追求這種需要的朋友了。

難得慶祝生日,豪一豪去Zuma食個晚餐!三個人合共食了四千多元,價錢雖略為高了點,但品嚐過廚師推介的刺身後,再加上餐廳氣氛及環境,服務,已感到值得了!廚師推介的刺身拼盤!多種魚生混合在一起,吃下去很有鮮味,很新鮮!廚師特製的壽師拼盤,賣相好正,手工細緻,吃下去更有一種清新的感覺!甜品好豐富,由其朱古力心太軟,濃郁芳香,大飽口福!
