As recommended by my relatives, we chose Langham MK as our last family gathering. To save money, we had it in the lunch time on a weekend. The dining room was crowd by visitors and families. Starter: I started with cold seafood, such as mussels and shellfishes. Both did not taste good. Cold Plate: The salad was pre-mixed and nothing special to me. Cold Plate: The salad was pre-mixed and nothing special to me. Instead the roasted beef roll with asparagus taste full of beef's favor.
Hot Dish 1: Grilled steak, fish fillet in cream sauce, mixed veggie, steamed Chinese dumplings taste nothing special. The 巴東牛肉 taste funny to me and I think it was "slow cooked" or "stewed" for over 6 hours!? But it was still too greasy to me.
Hot Dish 2: This is a good plate to me. I really enjoy the Indian vegetarian curry and the Indian steamed rice. The Thailand fish cake taste full of fish's favor but the texture is quite a surprise to me. Unlike the "QQ" texture of Thai shrimp cake, the fish cake was loose in texture. The Vietnam spring roll was absolutely a recommendation and it was perfect match with fresh crispy lettuce and lemon juice. Don't miss it.
Hot Dish 3: I got a bowl of Singapore curry noodle (Lasak!?) I chose shrimp and fish ball as the ingredient. The soup base taste much better than the fish balls and noodle. If you are not hungry, don't waste the room of your stomach.
The cheese plate is my most important part of this buffet. They have 8 types of cheese and I tried all of them. The Rambolnut Walnut and Cambozolla was good match with our Red Wine. I wish I didn't eat those hot dishes in 30 minutes ago and fill my stomach with those cheeses instead. I am also glad to see that they serve various nuts and fresh large grapes and various dried fruits on this cheese corner.
The white chocolate fondue was too sweet for me. The apple crumble had great baked apple filling but the toping was not that attractive.
Last but not least, my wife made an icy dessert for me. It gave me a feeling being in Vietnam or Singapore!? It's not easy to make such South East Asian icy dessert to taste bad.
We all chose iced lemon tea to end our meal. It looks refreshed but the iced black tea did taste good. I don't know if their coffee tastes better!?
The average cost per head was about HK$255 with HSBC credit card.
Since my uncle paid this meal for us, I have no complaint on the meal. However, if I can choose, I probably won't pick this hotel.
