第一次踏足大館，不是為參觀歷史建築，不是為看名人展覽，更加不是懷舊，就只是為去飲茶食午餐。有點可惜！希望日後會再來走走。坐落於一座富歷史性的建築物裏，高貴氣氛已經加倍，再加上有fusion 的裝修及傢俬，The Chinese Library就完全是一間高檔中西合壁的餐廳。下午menu有點心、炒飯麵及少許主菜選擇，既然特意來食就沒想太多，每種類都點些一試。點心類都算有水準，沒有太fusion的感覺，只是有些點心加了西方食材提升味道，質素是配合到高檔格局的。我這個午餐比較欣賞是海胆海鮮炒飯，海胆味濃，炒得有中式菜餚鑊氣。主菜就選了填鴨，但鴨好像不是主點，餐廳提供了6種特色醬配鴨，有些真的未諗過會用來食填鴨，幾得意！但鴨是肥了點。這個主菜會適合西方旅客多點，More Fun and Surprise.今個午餐要二千多元，值不值見仁見智。

好友們邀請我Wine Dinner，已經提早訂了枱在The Chinese Library 吃晚餐和試酒。 當晚除了試酒之外， 也有美味精緻的食物，點心拼盤， 魚香脆茄子，煙燻四喜素卷，爆脆冰燒肉， 桑拿龍蝦， 青芥末咕嚕肉， 煙燻北京烤鴨， 香酥和牛肋排，每位$800＋10％ 。魚香脆茄子，煙燻四喜素卷，爆脆冰燒肉～ 燒肉皮脆但肉質偏凍， 四喜素卷煙燻味重， 有幾層不同的口感， 魚香脆茄子入口的時候以為是豆腐， 味道普通。點心拼盤～ 賣相精美， 三款最有印象最出色的是喇沙味小籠包， 小籠包入面已經有喇沙味湯汁和餡料，入味好吃。桑拿龍蝦～ 湯底夠熱，帶點辣辣的， 龍蝦肉爽口。青芥末咕嚕肉～ 除了甜甜酸酸的咕嚕肉味之外， 還有微微的芥末香， 創新的做法。煙燻北京烤鴨～ 上枱的時候店員已經幫我們包好了， 但我都係比較喜歡自己包的過程， 這裏的北京烤鴨味道一般， 因為餅皮已經凍了， 入口吃不到鴨的味道。香酥和牛肋排～ 豐富牛肉味， 肥瘦適中。伊麵～ 食到呢度已經很飽了， 味道中規中矩。奶凍～ 味道比較淡。咖啡～ 咖啡味香濃。整體來說這裏的食物除了桑拿龍蝦之外，其他都是偏凍的，應該將上菜的時間

今次朋友生日，也是我第二次來到這間餐廳，菜牌仍然是上次那個，一坐落嚟就叫咗杯cocktail。Jelly fish 海蜇頭：很開胃！沒有什麼驚喜Beef ribs 酥皮牛肉：外脆內嫩，食完有啲膩（即刻飽曬）不過一夾就散晒，外皮剝落，感覺不太良好。不過食下去拿回很多分。怪味脆鱔 crispy Wuxi eel with 15 year old aged vinegar ：炸到好脆，做個餐前小食，食到唔停得口。藤椒伴翡翠chilled “jade flower” in green Sichuan pepper essence: 萵筍切成鎖鏈型，咬入去美味的花椒味散發出來，好開胃！Salted Fish kale :蝦醬啫啫芥蘭：仍然都係用熱石碗裝着....蝦醬嘅味道即刻爆曬出嚟。不過有啲唔同我想像中一樣，啲芥蘭淨係剩返啲莖。Longevity bun 壽包：一般Rice vermicelli with crab meat & shrimp 銀絲蟹肉蝦炒米粉榛子香球：Deep fried chocolate hazelnut ballDrink: Dan Tat 味道並沒有太大驚喜，反而是

午餐於中環遊走, 搵到一間名稱非常特別的地方chinese library 顧名思義應該是吃中式的東西但是入面卻充滿著fusion的元素當日午餐 餐牌 是點心拼盤 原本不太抱有期望 但一吃卻驚喜萬分 首先環境清幽 在荷里活道入面這些格局是基本配備 如果沒有一個好的環境再怎樣出色的食物也是枉然 這間餐廳十分到位 午餐包含三個蒸餃 和兩件炸物 還有一件港式蛋撻做結尾 老實說這個牌場 不會去到飽肚程度,但我欣賞的是它精心精緻的配搭 三款餃各有特色但都有一個共通點餃皮十分煙韌 每一口咬落去 整隻餃也不會散 這一點很重要,不是高質的餃子不會做到這個效果。分量也剛剛好 肉餡不會太多或太少 羊肚菌水晶餃 食得出一股很有香氣的菌味很清新 黑松露蝦餃 最突出的是黑松露味道但略嫌蓋過蝦味,蝦的爽口程度也是十分足夠, 感覺到是用新鮮的海蝦。最後一款餃同樣是令我最驚艷的一款賽螃蟹鱈魚餃 一個好嘅賽螃蟹 是吃他的蛋香和滑 這款餃做到很到位，鱈魚的味道 雖然不是太出位但淡淡的魚香更加令到這款餃添上一絲絲特別。和牛酥四個字皮薄餡靚雖然牛味不是太出眾 但那個皮薄挽救了一切 至於 香芋酥盒 因為本人 不是太喜歡芋頭食品

I miraculously came off the waitlist after trying to make a same-day booking on Mother’s Day for dinner. They called me at 5:30 informing me of a cancellation and offering to seat us at 7. Another excellent meal at Chinese Library. Tried many new dishes tonight - marinated brisket, the green pepper in black bean sauce, the Peking Duck and the stir fried wagyu beef. Brisket was tender w balanced flavor. The black bean sauce went well w the pepper and not salty at all. The duck was juicy and the skin was crisp. Dined here on a Wednesday night. We did enjoy our meal. Contrary to many Openrice reviews, we had satisfactory service, even when it was a full house. Food was nice. Not “wow”. Portion size tends to be on the slightly smaller side. Thousand cut “Chrysanthemum” tofu is worth ordering to see fine Chinese knife skills. 環境氣氛好好，中式料理西式環境，食身賣相都吾錯。黎過幾次大館，都系第一次走入餐廳食野。餐廳員工服務態度不錯，大部分都好好笑容，而且會有侍應在吃飯途中不停為你加水。上菜前，會簡單介紹每一道菜式的特色。雖然價錢吾便宜，但系值得再黎一次。

To celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, I planned to treat him to a very nice dinner with a little birthday surprise. first time in Tai Kun actually and was stunned by how beautiful the place was, including the Chinese library. as you step into the restaurant, you won't think you are in HK at all!! could be a restaurant in Ginza or the Bund.The service was excellent, we had Nina the lovely lady for our table, she was really inviting to take any comments for the set menu that we had, and she was so enthusiastic about her service, so cheerful and we had the best service we experienced for as long as we remember

What an amazing experience at Chinese Library. From the moment we arrived we were treated so well. Nina your hospitality was fantastic and you are such a generous host with a brilliant smile. We are very grateful to all the service, a true delight you made my mums visit unforgettable. Thank you

環境氣氛很好，初初感覺十分良好，音樂令人愉快，食物賣相不錯，可惜服務態度非常一般，不太禮貌，不感到被歡迎。負責我們的主力服務員款待客人的質素惡劣，請了這樣的員工令整個餐廳大為失色，不時大聲提及還枱時間，然而外面沒有人等候，不可能等待我們完成甜品嗎？甜品質素十分普通，得個樣！由於被催促地完成，也沒有心情欣賞了。幸好還有一個正常的經理為我們影相留念，但也不能挽回我對這間餐廳的評價，不會再去這一間餐廳了。

Staff were not familiar with the menu, could not respond when asked for signature dishes and recommendations. They could also be more attentive and responsive when called for instead of staring over the dinners. Unfinished sharing plates were taken away without checking first and the bill was brought in without been asked for. Food taste and presentation was good despite extremely small portions for certain items given the pricing.
