好過份,餐廳沒有尊重客人的用餐體驗及食物。
相信大部分人都係因neighborhood既鹽焗雞而慕名而來,而餐廳竟然為左客人繼續叫野食而打包最出名既dish,犧牲當刻品賞食物最佳時間。

係8:10-8:20既期間,侍應都會睇住我地食野既進度同埋提我地8:20要交枱。
當我地同佢反映,訂枱時寫明8:30交枱,侍應只冷淡回覆:「下一枱8:30會黎。」

所謂的法國菜,收所謂fine dine價錢,提供的卻是快餐店的服務。
雖然食物質素不錯,但用餐體驗足已將一切推翻。

【餐前面包】,Sourdough配黄油,酸度深厚绵长的麦香很到位,口感虽柔韧,但湿度似乎过高,嚼起来没有期待中那么有力的回弹。

【French Aquitaine Beef Tartare/Abalone/Sansho Pepper】
除了感觉Chef倒橄榄油、放盐和胡椒的时候手抖,这算得上一份不错的牛肉塔塔。

生牛肉在绵滑细腻中透着韧性,对腥味的担心完全多余,只需要担心它会不会咸得吃不下去。顶部的鲍鱼片如同花瓣一样盖满,挺意外的,它是种像在嚼脆骨一样的脆爽,精彩的口感反差。

【Puy Lentil/Poached Egg/“N25” Ossetia Caviar】
最喜欢的是这一道,虽然造型有点密恐,鱼子酱搭配普伊扁豆也有些颠覆对以往鱼子酱菜式的认知,但就是吃一口啊啊啊“黑暗料理”真香!

440HKD,贵得有底气,不常见到餐厅把“N25”打在前面,象征着拔尖的产地和极高的标准。我并未达到能判断鱼子酱的水平,但这一款确实跟我之前吃过的鱼子酱有些不一样,咸味和鲜味是那么精致的平衡,让一股浓醇的海洋气息涌向味蕾深处。

嚼感扎实的扁豆被浓稠绵密的酱汁和过量橄榄油黏合在一起,中间还埋进了一颗完美的温泉蛋,轻轻撩拨开,金黄的蛋液与鱼子酱融为一体,鲜味得到极大的升华。

【Morisseau Mussels/Escargot Butter】
点了青口贝便注定无法解放双手,一晚上都在狠命跟这一锅战斗,这以后感觉自己会是吃青口大师了。如果这顿饭需要顾及吃相,这道菜并不推荐,但它应该是份量最一两人友好的主菜了。

酱汁是比较浓稠的那一挂,罗勒、大蒜、欧芹馥郁迷人的香在鼻息中喷发,蜗牛黄油竟然还有一抹奇妙的微酸。吃完青口还忍不住往酱汁中扔了片面包,可见是很喜欢了。

青口不是特别大的那种,但品质能打,新鲜入味、滑软嫩弹。哧溜一口嗦进口中,海洋的鲜味、田园的幽香、稀奶油一般的质感在唇齿间一网打尽。
·
被很多人吐槽的服务,快给我雷出心理阴影了。点菜的waitress阴阳怪气,可惜灯光过暗,她没能看见我的白眼。然后waiter全程就站在桌边,收盘子比介绍菜品主动得多,被人盯着吃饭的感觉极不自然。

最后不知道是不是区别对待,回来看点评才发现餐后都会送可露丽,但我没有,真是谢谢让我没有从头腻到尾。

Here’s what we had.Sour dough with saucisson (similar to salami) made with Black Pork of Bigorre, pigs are raised in semi-freedom in the mountains of the Pyrenees. Manager strongly recommended the smoked 秋刀魚 which is now in season. Didn’t like it, not as fatty as I had hoped and didn’t like those tiny bones. Manager strongly recommended the smoked 秋刀魚 which is now in season. Didn’t like it, not as fatty as I had hoped and didn’t like those tiny bones. Horseradish sauce that came with it was nice tho.

Another item that manager strongly recommended was the shirako (also in season), potato and black trumpet mushrooms covered with melted racelette and lardon (strips of fatty bacon). Not a fan either; bacon was way too salty but didn’t seem to cover the blandness of the shirako.

Persimmon with lardo and oscietra caviar.
Lardo is cured fat, usually from the back of a pig. It has a sweet, subtle pork flavor and texture like butter. Interesting combination with persimmon and caviar.

Can’t remember the taste, since had to gobble down everything in a rush given the 2-hour dining window (didn’t really start to order till 6:30). Even forgot to ask for my favorite canele. 😓
Corkage: $300 per bottle. Also had to finish my last glass in hurry.

我見到這麼多的好食評,便與朋友一起去試吓。晚餐分兩個時段,6-8:30pm 及8:30pm-closing 。我哋揀咗星期四 嘅6-8:30pm ,strictly 要8:30pm 交枱,都明白因為之後有reservation 。但係我唔明,一個所謂嘅fine dining restaurant 點解要分兩個時段?價錢唔係平,而客人要趕住食去交枱。以下是對這間餐廳的feedback : - 以fine dining 來說,服務不算好。以普通餐廳來說,服務還可以。- 服務員在8pm 問我們要不要甜品,我們當時還正在吃main dish,這樣一問已經心知他要催我們交枱。但我們仍然是order了甜品,甜品8:15pm到了,服務員清了我們main dish ,我們要在8:30pm 交枱。其實如果要15分鐘內完成吃甜品,那算是fine dining的享受嗎?其實如果餐廳expect我哋8:30pm一定要交枱,我prefer 同我哋直接講and recommend 我哋enjoy埋啲wine ,唔好再order甜品,因為未必有時間enjoy。這樣的做法比較貼心,及唔會俾人覺得好Commercial

- 食物與價錢不成正比。我feel唔到點解喺呢個價錢,以fine dining 來說食物味道一般,食材一般,沒有驚喜。就算要預訂的salt baked chicken with morel mushroom $980,味道ok but no surprise 。 同樣價錢的香港法國餐廳,比這間好很多。

這是一間普通的法國餐廳水準,並不是一間fine dining的法國餐廳水準。

呢間小店真係幾出色正常情況一定要book枱先至有得食嗰日行過,碰吓運氣問吓有冇枱?老闆話晏啲有,留咗個電話真係不負有心人過咗一陣間電話打嚟好好彩地可以臨時食到裝修:環境舒服,唔會太誇張燈光啱啱好服務態度:非常好,冇嘢可以挑剔食物:總括嚟講全部嘢都好用心製作樣樣都好食同埋啲嘢比較特別好新鮮我覺得個雞飯一定要試做到好入味同好嫩另外一個一定要叫就係短牛排切片薄得來有口感甜品方面:個朱古力甜品都做得出色一定會再嚟

也是二月時剛開放晚市不久的晚餐,當時也是抱著興奮的心情去試新餐廳,畢竟Neighborhood在那時已小有名氣,在Asia 50 Best Restaurant也上了數次榜,最新2021年排名來到了19名,而且女朋友喜歡吃西餐,所以我倆對這餐都頗有期望。先說價錢,老實說忘了,但好像人頭也不過千,算是非常親民。當晚也就點了三道菜,自㩦了一枝Gevrey Chambertin,沒了。第一道白子炒蛋,算是當晚我的最愛,雖然味道也是偏鹹,應該是多下了點鹽,不過相比起下兩道主菜的油膩和重口味,簡直小兒科。接下來兩道,我們倆都幾乎吃不出牛和雞的原味。牛的口感和熟度不錯,但真的有點太油膩了,翻看相片也看得出像油浸般。而雞飯則是他們家的signature,不過以意大利飯呈現,真不是我的菜啊,忌廉吃得多很膩,頭幾口味道的確不錯,雖然也是偏濃味和油膩,但再多吃就真的吃不消了,要打包走當宵夜。身邊認識不少朋友都是熟客,也有不錯的經歷,但我就真的不太有回頭的動力。我想只是鹹魚白菜,各有喜愛,當然如果有朋友願意Carry,請私訊我。如果人多一點的話,這裡應該是不錯的,也能多吃幾道菜,而且開瓶不貴,非常適合多人聚

Finally got to try this Asia top 50 resto, I was so looking forward to this meal. Finally got to try this Asia top 50 resto, I was so looking forward to this meal.

What we ordered:
- poached artichoke/liver pate/black truffle

-trench aquitaine beef tartare/abalone/sansho pepper

-handmade garganelli/fish tripes ragu🤩🤩

-salt baked chicken/griblets/morel mushrooms 🤩🤩🤩

Dessert :
- truffle french toast🤩🤩
- cherry cannoli 🤩

We felt a little disappointed with the starters as we expected more from a top 50 resto.. The beef tartare was okay, not the best I have tried. The artichoke live pate dish was interesting, but I’m not a fan😅
The pasta was pretty good tho, but the portion was extremely small 😂

However, The highlight of this meal definitely was the salt baked chicken rice, it totally won our hearts back! hands down one of the best chicken rice that I have tried! Love every components of this dish, the chicken was incredibly flavourful and tender, the sauce was so creamy and fragrant, packed with flavour from the chicken & giblets and morel mushrooms, love the crunchy rice crust at the bottle of the pot.. this dish genuinely gave all of us foodgasm😂 we wish we could get extra rice and sauce, the server told us actually we could mention it when we preorder! 🥲 I would do that for sure next time!

The desserts were great too, the french toast was so good, the cannoli was so crispy and the cherry filling wasn’t too sweet, I like it.

Overall, I think they do have some innovative dishes, the chicken was remarkable, reasonable price, service was not bad., agree this place is decent, but I think being one of the top 50 Asian restaurants is slightly overrated.

Around $700 pp including a bottle of wine , 4pax (price was a lot more affordable than I thought)

Neighborhood has recently been rewarded No. 9 of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2022. They offer a wide variety of French cuisine on their menu, featuring seasonal local ingredients. Neighborhood has recently been rewarded No. 9 of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2022. They offer a wide variety of French cuisine on their menu, featuring seasonal local ingredients. I got a chance to try some of the signature dishes during my visit and they definitely live up to expectation!


Neighborhood is located in a side alley near Hollywood Road. It is pretty difficult to notice so my friends and I spent some time to figure out its location. The restaurant is renovated in minimalist industrial style with concrete walls and metallic/ wooden furniture. Although the shop isn’t large, the seating area is quite comfortable and it’s a good place to catch up with friends.

Out of all the dishes I tried, I find the following the most impressive: beef tartare, escargot, short ribs and paella.


French Aquitaine Beef Tartare/ Abalone/ Hanasancho


The beef was served in small diced pieces and it was really tender and fresh. It is seasoned with the perfect amount of salt, pepper, with a hint of hanasancho. The tartare is topped with fresh abalone. The natural sweetness and the chewy texture of the abalone compliment very well with the beef. I really enjoyed this creative combination.

Escargot/ Spring Garlic Leaf/ N25” Oscietra Caviar


This is a dish that was highly recommended by the staffs and it is surprisingly delicious! The escargot is deep fried in a spring garlic leaf, served with a short skewer. The soft and tender escargot matches well with the fragrant crispy garlic leaf. This contrast in texture is really interesting. Generous amount of caviar was also added to give a bit of umami and saltiness to the dish, a fabulous combination of ingredients.

“Matura Station” Wagyu Shortrib Roast Beef/ Potato/ Lettuce/ Garlic Confit


The wagyu beef has extremely high and beautiful marbling. The beef was roasted perfectly with just right amount of pink on the inside. It was really tender and it just melts right in your mouth. The confit potatoes were really crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The dish features a garlic sauce with a hint of sweetness. It goes really well with the beef and the lettuce on the bottom.

Hokkaido Kinki (thornyhead rockfish) Paella


We have pre-ordered this dish since my friends really like Kinki fish. The Kinki fish, which is well known for its delicious fat is cooked perfectly. The skin of the fish is grilled till crispy with right amount of seasoning. The flesh, on the other hand, is smooth and buttery, with a hint of natural sweetness. The fish oil is also well-absorbed by the paella. The paella is also cooked to the right point, really flavourful and rich!

Finally visited this highly acclaimed restaurant of the famous Chef 🔥 It was in a small alley that you would not notice even. It totally matches with their name “Neighborhood”! The food here is hearty and definitely unique that you can hardly find in other place. This tartare was very nice and I loved the contrasting texture composed by the chewy abalone and the tender beef. Not quite able to taste the hanasansho here but the seasoning was definitely on point 😉

I love the flavour profile here. It’s definitely noting like your daily salad. I couldn’t even tell many of the greens and flowers used here and the outcome was so good. The harmony was no accident but specially designed 👍🏼

It was the daily special but it was quite disappointing that the razor clams was not in very good quality and got sands in it. The sauce was buttery but not enough seasoning 🙁

It looked really ordinary but indeed very delicious. I especially love the truffle here not for its luxuriousness but for its ability to blend in with other vegetables☺️But at the same time, Chef managed to let its amazing aroma shine. Just love this combo and I guess this is what diners crave for here: uniqueness and deliciousness. Honestly, this is something you could not find in hotel fine dining table😍

I love this pasta a lot😍 The ragu was intensely flavoured and the special shape pasta was just the perfect carrier for the amazing sauce. It’s perhaps the only place using a fish tripes ragu in HK, not even in Testina. Just wish more of it since my craving was definitely not fixed😉

The most famous item here🥇 It was first baked in salt and unwrapped in front of you. It’s totally a show stopper and I enjoyed the explanation of the whole story behind. The chicken got some perfect saltiness and the skin was to die for 🤤 But the meat was not as tender as expected. The morel and yellow wine based rice was really satisfying and I think I can really eat whole plate of it alone. The griblets were amazing too if you love offals. But in the heated “chicken game” in HK, I would perhaps prefer other counterparts.

Its charming presentation did light up my expectation. It was essentially a cubed French toast and I appreciated its frying skill. The truffle did elevate it too. But I personally didn’t enjoy the raw egg yolk inside.

It was quite chewy and got lengthy vanilla and charred flavour. A small one is definitely not enough 😆


Their offering is totally unique and innovative, and it’s what we definitely need more of in HK. But it’s hit and miss to me. Considering the price and the fame, I did expect something more honestly. That said, I would still recommend them for a try 🔥

分兩場是不理解的服務一般 價錢不值我們帶酒 那開瓶是合理但沒有應有的 service然后食物 有一個千元魚頭不理解為什麼用魚頭 腥味很重 價錢很貴限時 但orders又錯 甜品又sell上菜趕不上 為什麼兩段時間?

The staff soon came to introduce some of the daily specials, and we had followed her recommendations. The first thing we ordered was Smoked Seasonal Fish from Market ($280). The seasonal baby mackerel had been smoked to infuse the flesh with nice woody aromas, with the fish appropriately seasoned to highlight the original flavours, without being masked by the smokiness. Paired with a nice mayonnaise made by cream cheese, the fish was very good, but because the fish got some small bones, for someone who were not good at eating fish it may pose some problems.

Next, we had Charcoal Grilled Baby Squids ($250). Right in season, the baby squids were very tender and good in taste, served on a sizzling cast iron pan, with some nice olive oil drizzled as well as shredded Hokkaido wild spring garlic as condiments. Again, the chef aimed to emphasize the flavours of the squids, only using a bit of shrimp paste to enhance the savoury and umami notes. Very good as well.

The third dish was White Asparagus with Leek Fondant and Raclette Cheese ($275). The seasonal asparagus was young, without fibrous tissue, having a delicate taste. The chef had put some leek on the side, not only adding the green colour to complement in appearance, but the stronger flavours also provided a good contrast which helped to bring forth the sweetness of the asparagus. The melted cheese had a rich creamy texture, which was fulfilling and pleasant.

Another of the staff’s recommendation was Escargot with Spring Garlic Leaf and Caviar ($360). The escargot had been wrapped in spring garlic leaf before deep-fried, and then served with a short skewer with plenty of caviar on top. The texture was interesting because of the contrast between the soft escargot and the crispy leaf wrapping it, and the caviar helped to give the umami and a bit of salty notes to the flavours.

Then it was the highlight of the evening, the signature Salt Baked Chicken ($550 for half). The chicken came from a local farm in Yuen Long Ping Shan, and the chef first baked it with salt, to keep the chicken moist and juicy while infusing with a bit of salty taste, greatly enhancing the delicious flavours. He then cut the chicken into big pieces and then baked with the giblets and morels on rice, together with an amazing sauce, finishing with plenty of coriander and spring onion on top. Everything was so tasty, with the great taste of each individual component amplified, from the fragrance of the morel mushrooms, the beautiful chicken liver and giblets, to the rice absorbing the jus from the chicken and the sauce, as well as the crunchy scorched rice on the bottom. Definitely a must try and do remember to pre-order this one in advance.

However, one thing we were not happy was that somehow, it took a long while for this to get served, more than 45 minutes after the staff had shown us the baked chicken. Originally, I thought it required that amount of time to bake of the rice and morels, but I later found that it took much shorter time for the adjacent table on the same dish. While I did not make a complaint, I guess the staff should at least check in with us, clearly noticing our agitation for waiting so long after finishing our previous course.

Coming to dessert, we had first the Truffle French Toast ($120). The thick toast cube was moist and soft on the inside, and there was a scoop of ice-cream on top, poured with some rich caramel sauce and sprinkled with hazelnuts pieces and shaved truffle. Fairly nice.

An off-menu item, we also ordered the Apple Tartin ($120). The crust of the tart was buttery, with the braised apple pieces good in sweetness, balanced well with its acidity so not making it too luscious on palate. Together with the scoop of vanilla ice-cream, we both liked this one more than the French toast.

Service was decent, but I would suggest the staff could introduce each dish to us, as that would make the whole dining experience even better. The bill was $2,020 which was a bit on the high side. The food was good overall, but honestly I could not associate it with the No. 9 ranking personally.
