Was attracted to Lily & Bloom by their 1st anniversary promotion and their oyster! It's not too many selections to choose from around 5 I think. We got Rock Island and Hama Hama. They are all quite succulent and creamy in flavor, but I still think they could be fresher. The calamari to my surprise was a grilled one and in fact they serve the fried one at the bar side, which at first they said they could not share the menu but we insist and they compromised. The ox marrow is fantastic and goes very well with the fresh crispy baguette! That is ace!

I ordered Dory fish as main and came out they are fried but really fresh and yum! The side was curried potatoes and carrots which are a good mix and not overshadowing the fish's lovely taste.

The Mango napoleaon is a miss being it's not the usual type of fresh cruchy pastry style. Lucky I was sharing with my friend and it wasn't too much of a bite to finish.

Overall, the mean is satisfying and the ambiance is causal and cozy.

Let's be real honest here... we all don't really get to enjoy lunch hours only because it's so packed everywhere... and within that one hour? It's like rush hour! But for those that do have 1.5 to 2 hours of lunch break... do try out Lily & Bloom's set lunch. I've been there twice by now, for their lunch menu. Veggie Lasagna... the portion's great! It's not too big, and it's not too fattening... Esp. for me, it's a good recipe. I normally can't finish a lasagna on my own coz of the excessive cheese and what not.. but this was in great portion!

TGI Friday! I started my Friday at Bloom for lunch! The vibe in day time is very different, but still very cozy and casual. My friend tried the Bloomburger which their staff highly recommended!
overall we had a great time there although it was just an hour lunch. staff were very attentive, the environment is good, especially for casual business lunch.
oh also.... i love their music selection!

I LOVE THIS PLACE!

The food, the cocktails, the service, the ambiance... the whole lot!

I've been frequenting this joint since it opened late last year. The food have always been great if not fantastic! However, to my surprise, they recently came up with a new menu. Except for a few old favourites, most items are brand new. "Why fix what's not broken", I asked. Therefore, I felt obligated to give it a try...

First up, we ordered the Tuna Tartare and the Lobster Salad (Blackboard Daily Special). Bam! Score! The tartare comes with what the menu calls "Wasabi Ice". The combination of the kick from the wasabi and the crunchy bits of ice together with the tartare completely takes the dish to a whole new level of kick-ass yummy-ness!

The lobster meat from the Lobster Salad was perfectly cooked. It works harmoniously well with the crisp fresh greens. If I had it any other day, I'd be heck impressed. However, compare to the tartare, it became a little "as expected". Still, very good!

As mains, we had the Baramundi blackboard special and the pasta blackboard special which was a linguini with shellfish. Now that I think about it, I suppose we did go all out on seafood this particular evening. What a smart choice we made, as both the fish and the pasta exceeded our expectations. The skin on the Baramundi was crisp and flavourful. The linguini was perfectly cooked to the tooth and the clams and prawns taste of the sweetness of the sea!

We were a bit pressed for time and did not stay for desert, but this gives me a reason to go back very soon, I which I look forward to very much.

Having been to Lily (upstairs bar & Cigar lounge that is part of the same establishment) several times, I had wanted to try Bloom for a while. We had always wanted to try the food so we thought it was as good a time as any. The hostess tried to show us to a small table near the entrance, but we asked if they had anything better further into the restaurant. We were promptly shown to a comfortable corner booth table in the main dining room. Service was efficient and knowleadgable throughout the meal. The specials all looked interesting and we ordered two items from the chalkboard specials board (a nice touch). Here is what we had:

Appetizers
- Tomato, mozzarella, parma ham & rocket salad (special) $110 - The waiter made a point of saying that the tomatoes are locally grown in Sai Kung especially for Bloom. They were indeed very ripe & tasty. I typically hesitate to order this type of dish because the tomatoes in HK are generally so bad, but these were very fresh. The mozzarella was also soft & creamy and the whole dish had a light vinaigrette dressing. All in all, a really nice balance of flavors.

- Bone Marrow $85 - I didn't try this but my boyfriend is a big fan of bone marrow (it looked unappetizing to me) and he really enjoyed this dish. He commented several times how he felt it was nice to have something different and unusually prepared on the menu. This is big praise from my boyfriend, who eats out all of the time.

Mains
-Monkfish cacciatore $195 - The meaty monkfish didn't disappoint (though it was a tad overcooked, but just a tad), with almost 2 full fillets in the portion size, cooked with a fresh tomato sauce and a variety of veggies (onions, potatoes, etc). It was a really hearty and satisfying dish.

-Potato gnocchi with broccolini, crab, mushroom with olive oil (special) $195 - My boyfriend ordered the gnocchi and we switched dishes halfway through the meal. This dish was rich and luscious - really fantastically prepared with homemade gnocchi, crunchy brccollini, yummy mushrooms and shredded crab, all with a light olive oil dressing. Only complaint (if it could really be a complaint), is that there was a bit too much crab and the taste overpowered the dish. Otherwise, it was great and I would certainly order it again.

We were really tempted by the sides (the polenta parmesan, mac & cheese and broccoli rabe all sounded delicious) but we decided two starters and two mains were more than enough. Besides, we wanted to have something to look forward to on our next trip.! We also didn't try any of the desserts, though the dessert menu looked pretty standard for western restaurants.

Dinner for two (1 glass of wine each, 2 appetizers, 2 mains, 1 bottle of water) = $958

I've now been twice- the 1st time I ordered a la carte and had the vegetarian couscous, came on a curry sauce and was lovely and fluffy. and a very nice carrot and ginger soup.
The 2nd time I went they had vegetarian items on the set menu so I enjoyed a very lovely risotto which came with a beautiful parmesan crisp- it was so good my friend and I asked for extra crisps to which the waiter kindly obliged


My friends ordered the famous Bloomburger which actually comes with fries during lunch (usually at Lily it just comes on it's own), and my sister loved the Crab Salad currently on the Set Menu.

For dessert I had the Popcorn Creme Brulee which actually came with caramelised popcorn! Buttery yummy goodness.
Can't wait to go back for Brunch!

Bar除咗供應飲料外,仲有各式各樣嘅新鮮海產例如生蠔、大蜆、海鮮拼盤等等。食神當晚點咗較少見嘅cherry clams,果然蜆肉大又鮮甜,入口時仍然可以感受倒淡淡嘅海水味,唯一可惜係沙石略嫌太多,影響咗口感。

帶子配南瓜蓉 (Grade: 4/5)
賣相唔錯,三片大大嘅帶子香煎後再加入南瓜蓉同些少香料。帶子彈牙,味道絕對不下於北海道嘅貨色。南瓜蓉夠香滑,口感及濃度可以同Joel Robuchon馳名嘅馬鈴薯蓉相比。

蜜糖燒鴨胸 (Grade: 3.5/5)
一向好喜歡燒或煙鴨胸呢道菜,廚師今次用咗蜜糖所以非常惹味,就連皮嘅位置都燒至金黃香脆。一切都似乎萬無一失,可惜嘅係鴨肉太多筋,另外肉亦煮得太過生肉色仍然呈現藍色,所以都影響咗入口嘅嚼感。

華倫西亞式西班牙飯 (Grade: 3.5/5)
西班牙大鍋飯(paella) 其實源於西班牙華倫西亞,在當地語言解作「鍋」嘅意思,但響香港接觸倒嘅大多素係西班牙海鮮飯,配料都不外乎蝦、魷魚之類。呢度嘅華倫西亞式西班牙飯就可算係豐富得多,除兩條長長嘅燒蘆筍,傳統嘅蝦、蜆、魷魚之外,仲有辣肉腸,連雞翼都有。細細嘅一窩飯好似食極都有!

美中不足嘅係飯嘅質地較柔軟,做法有D似risotto,如果可以做得硬一點有些少飯焦會更好。

總括而言
整晚服務可以接受,唯一些少細微不著眼處可以做得更加好。譬如放響bar後面嘅大黑板,寫滿當日新鮮當做嘅海鮮同廚師精選,其實客人坐得太遠完全睇唔倒,如果可以再用塊細黑板等侍應可以帶到客人枱邊介紹相信效果會更好。

The service team was quick and efficient, extremely attentive and certainly knowledgeable about the daily specials and general dishes. Always smiling and very quick to react to any request.
The menu selection is extremely limited making the choice somewhat difficult and it would be nice to have a slighlty more extensive menu. However, the Onion soup was rich and delicious and the Seared Scallops with Pumpkin Mousse a delight. The Seared Duck Breast slightly chewy but tasty and well seasoned, whereas the Mac & Cheese side dish certainly needs some attention and some more flavour.
The wine menu has suffcient choice in general, however, prices are on the high side making it difficult to find a more moderate priced wine.
(i.e. Pinot Noir has only 4 choices at $600 / $900 / $1200 and $2400)
In general the great atmosphere with cosy seating, great lighting and an interesting design concept in addition to the service full of smiles and personal touches make it certainly worthwhile to visit.

In general, I expected better service & more choices of food in the menuin a new restaurant that costs me more than $5XX per person, felt disaapointed..& not happy especially with the service & food l!.BUT frankly speaking, LILY the area for drinks is nice & good...but for sitting down for a nice meal & have a nice chat with friends...there are more choices available...I'd say no 2nd time for me...PROS: Nice decored & stylish placeconnect to LILY the bar with just a few steps of stairsNice Musi

In general, I expected better service & more choices of food in the menu
in a new restaurant that costs me more than $5XX per person,
felt disaapointed..& not happy especially with the service & food l!.
BUT frankly speaking, LILY the area for drinks is nice & good...
but for sitting down for a nice meal & have a nice chat with friends.
..there are more choices available...

I'd say no 2nd time for me...

PROS:

Nice decored & stylish place
connect to LILY the bar with just a few steps of stairs
Nice Music

CONS:


1) Poor service - Poor English i.e waiter explaining the menu of the day & lack of product knowledge
- impolite of the waitress during my telephone booking and when I paid the bill.
(Not saying thank you or even smile after I signed the bill & left the restaurant....WTH is going on ???)

2) Lack of choices in food...i.e only an A-4 sheet of boring food available for
appetizer + main course + snacks

3) House wine sucks.....compare to Jimmy's kitchen...that I went a week before..
house wines choices are a lot better

I was attracted by their photos shown in the TIMEOUT HONG KONG, i thought the venue looks nice, so i decided to have a go...venue was nice, but a bit closy... even one of the ladies from the table next to me was asking the waiter to dim the light a bit... cause it is so bright....( " it's not as same as i saw in the photo, which i agree.... )menu comes with sufficient amount of choices, plus we have a special menu for the thanks giving...but the waiters just " READ" the special menu out instead

menu comes with sufficient amount of choices, plus we have a special menu for the thanks giving...
but the waiters just " READ" the special menu out instead of really "INTRODUCING" the menu to me... he just know the food, but dunno how does it serve..

we have ordered some oysters, scallops, beef carpaccio and a ox tongue as starters, Seabass and Salmon Filet as the main...

To be honest, apart from oysters which is fresh and creamy ( just my own personal perference), the rest is just below average, and i feel like for that amount of money, i would prefer to go to NOBU for lunch or Spoon by Alain Ducasse for a 2 course meal.... at least it worth hell more. Plus i have tried Spoon by Alain Ducasse which i think their SeaBass is much nicer..... ( Spoon by Alain Ducasse is not a michelin star restaurant, but i think they will get one sooner or later, cause Alain Ducasse in london is really nice and it is a 3 stars, so better go there b4 they rank with stars )

Scallops , Seabass and the Salmon Filet is just WAY TOO DRY, not Juicy AT ALL...

the Bar " Lily" looks good, i would go there for a drink, but definietly not goin to the " BLOOM" for a second time..... ( point pie would give u more or less the same thing but better in food quality and the staff really know wt they are serving....)

I can't recall the exact date we tried out Bloom, but it was soon after it opened so my review should probably be read in that context. I ordered a soup followed by bone marrow. I *really* wanted to like the bone marrow (as I love bone marrow (yum) and the little spoon that comes with it), but sadly, both dishes were so salty as to be almost inedible. Disappointing since over-seasoning is such a rookie mistake. I tried to finish the dishes but I genuinely couldn't battle through the tear-induci

Disappointing since over-seasoning is such a rookie mistake. I tried to finish the dishes but I genuinely couldn't battle through the tear-inducingly saltiness of it all. Being still pretty hungry, I ordered a Mac & Cheese side dish - and hurrah! it was delicious.
The reviews of the food from my friends who were also there ranged from ok to pretty good. The service was generally fine but at the end of our meal, we had to repeatedly ask for a bottle of wine for about 20 mins (before giving up and leaving).
Bloom undoubtedly has a lovely setting and ambiance. But I'm too into my food for a nice setting alone to be sufficient to tempt me back. If I ever return, I'll stick with the Mac and cheese!

月前壚期選址剛開張不久,走型格路線的Lily & Bloom. 既能成城中熱點,主要皆因地點好,裝修靚. 食物方面, raw bar的確討好,食材相當新鮮. 友人說cocktails亦調教出色, 甜品也不錯. 但熱食方面相對參差, 侍應招呼亦如是. 不過三個女人坐足3-4小時,亦無人打擾,絕對適合暢談聊天的好地方. 整體來說above average. 為了raw bar & cocktails, 可以再訪.

I seriously don't know why anyone will have something bad to say about this place. Yes, perhaps the food took a bit longer to get to our table... But with the beautiful interior and the bustling vibe to keep us happy and entertained, what's another 10 mins, right?My friends and I find the waiters and their manager very helpful. My friends and I find the waiters and their manager very helpful. The manager personally came and introduced himself and offered his apologies for the wait between our starters and mains, but it's really only been 10 minutes after we finished our beautifully put together seafood platter from the raw bar. Their oysters are divine! But what really caught my attention was their raw abalone. I've never had them raw before and it's such a delight!!

My Parpadelle Bolognese was seriously yummy. My friends ordered their blackboard special of Lamb Rack and was very happy. Another friend got the Iberico Pork Chop which also was cooked perfectly pink. I had a bite and nearly fainted! It was seriously THAT good! There was also a Salmon dish but I forget how it was prepared. The pork was very distracting at that point.

We shared a Pistachio Creme Caramel which had a very subtle and elegant flavor but yet still very smooth, creamy, and fulfilling.

With wine and drinks, the four of us each dished out $600+ which was very reasonable whichever way you look at it, especially for the quality of the food, the beautiful decor, plus its Central location.

Believe me... I'LL BE BACK!
