Either this is a lie, or its staff is so incompetent that they cannot take orders properly.
We ordered main courses the moment we sat down, hoping not to fill up on appetisers. We asked that the main courses be served with the appetisers. A person appearing to be the manager took our order, and said that that would be arranged.
No main course was served for the next hour. Instead, appetisers only were served.
An hour later, while we were working on our appetisers we reminded the staff that we asked the main courses to be served. We specified that we wanted two servings of suckling pig.
Half an hour later, they served us a paella. They did not serve us any suckling pig.
We reminded the staff that we ordered two servings of suckling pig. We heard the staff tell the manager about our order. We heard the manager say “ah. Suckling pig.”As if he had totally forgotten about our (twice repeated) order.
Half an hour later, one order of suckling pig arrived.
When the suckling pig arrived, we reminded the staff we had ordered two servings of suckling pig.
The second order of suckling pig arrived only half an hour thereafter.
I hope the staff was not deliberately trying to delay our main courses to make sure we would fill up on bread and appetisers, and not be able to take advantage of the main courses being all you can eat.
But I am not sure that the alternative (the staff repeatedly failing to take our orders) sheds them in a better light.
Anyone hoping to go to La Paloma to take advantage of its main course being all you can eat should bear this in mind.
For the same price (1300 odd) I’d rather go to La Rambla, for better service and far better value.
