Tried this restaurant out in a relaxing weekday afternoon last week.All food are well-prepared.We ordered 3 starters:1. Double cream BURRATA mozzarella with Parma ham, eggplant and tomato2. GAIA assorted leaves GARDEN salad with black olives “earth”3. Veal RAVIOLI with Parmigiano cheese and HAZELNUTALL GOOD. Especially the first one, it's impressive! The appearance is attractive itself. Whereas the Garden salad, it made like some plants which presented nicely.As to the ravioli, it's very creamy

All food are well-prepared.
We ordered 3 starters:
1. Double cream BURRATA mozzarella with Parma ham, eggplant and tomato
2. GAIA assorted leaves GARDEN salad with black olives “earth”
3. Veal RAVIOLI with Parmigiano cheese and HAZELNUT

ALL GOOD. Especially the first one, it's impressive! The appearance is attractive itself. 
Whereas the Garden salad, it made like some plants which presented nicely.

As to the ravioli, it's very creamy and the cheese tasted good. Another excellent dish.

Pizza:
Pizza with BUFFALO mozzarella, tomato & basil

The pizza itself has no problem but I myself preferred some thicker ones. The toppings are good anyways.

Main dish:
Seared SCALLOPS with ASPARAGUS in three ways

Scallops are very fresh ones and very juicy and well cooked. Very very memorable!

Dessert:
Warm temptation of bittersweet chocolate with peach and vanilla gelato

We waited for 15 mins for this dessert but eventually found that the waiting time is well-worthy. The chocolate tasted good and the peach is extremely freshy... nice one.

Exterior environment is extremely comfortable. Servers are well-trained, responsive and helpful, and willing to interact with customers. Nice...
The only thing let me down is the price... it's a bit too pricy that we cannot visit too freq... Overall it's a very very very good experience!!

I wanted a great pizza and passing near Sheung Wan Station, I always saw that pizza place "Gaia" so I tried it at lunch time. We were a group of 5, no wait time, so it was good. We ordered some appetizers : lobster and tuna salad (we had to return it because the tuna was not fresh), beef carpaccio (delicious) and the caprese salad (just ok).After that, two of us decided to have pizza. I wanted a great pizza and passing near Sheung Wan Station, I always saw that pizza place "Gaia" so I tried it at lunch time. 
We were a group of 5, no wait time, so it was good. 
We ordered some appetizers : lobster and tuna salad (we had to return it because the tuna was not fresh), beef carpaccio (delicious) and the caprese salad (just ok).
After that, two of us decided to have pizza. I tried the Margherita. It was excellent! This pizza has a thin crust which I loved. My friend tried the one with arugula on top and she was very pleased with it. As for my other friends, they ordered : lamb (very good and tender), veal chop (also a good choice)  and pasta with losbter (too sweet for my friend's tastes).
To finish our meal, we wanted to try some desserts: the tiramisu does not taste like a real tiramisu; the chocolate fondant was not "fondant" which is a shame and then, the last one ( I can't remember the name but it is the one with "fresh" strawberries) was a deception. 
Last but not least, the coffee was too hot and tasted burnt.
The helpful and friendly staff made up for the food and we will give it another try...

We have been to Gaia many times, and have enjoyed the food. Last night we sat in the outside dining area. We were very surprised to see a couple being welcomed into the restaurant with their four dogs. At times, the dogs were held in their laps as they ate. When my husband spoke to the waitress to ask why this was allowed, she could not answer, but said that she would speak to the manager. When nobody came to speak to us, we decided that we would enjoy our meal and follow it up later. My husband

Meeting friend who worked in sheung wan and we both wanted something to eat before starting  the drinking party with other friends.  Gaia is just around the corner of her office and I was thinking of having some Italian dessert.  However they have only savory dishes like pizza and sandwich I'm the afternoon menu.  A bit disappointed to my sweet tooth but the ham and fontina cheese sandwich was so good, we almost need to order another one. The ham not too salty blends well with the melted fontina cheese perfect in taste. The side salad using very high quality balsamic hence we cleaned up the whole plate 
 The only thing to improve is the green tea is too watery. Too much water in the teapot.  A single serving tea bag in a rather big pot.  Guess it's my wrong choice of oriental tea in an Italian restaurant

整晚食物都冇特別有令我留下深刻印象, 可能坐下後, 自然用其他餐廳去比較, 總覺有不足

但如果唔計酒, 其實都係1000一個人頭, 咁上下質素都完全合理正常

計埋酒就5000 一個人頭啦

Gaia has a daily antipasto buffet during lunch times along with a second main course (which you probably don’t need…since the antipasto buffet is quite a big feat all on its own!) The set lunch is $268. COME with stomach space.

有義大利大排檔之稱的羅馬仲夏小小小牛肉
小小小牛肉的關鍵在於快炒 看看看 中間的肉色還是粉紅色的 名師的功夫可真不一般 利索快手而且重點是 滿屋子都是肉香~~~

在上環工作多年,都末試個呢間Gaia意大利餐廳,今日和|同事品嘗一下一半露天一半室内設計Manu 頭盤同甜品可選自助bar麵包好軟好食頭盤好多選擇甜品同生果頭盤樣樣都不錯,最好是西班牙火腳,其中有一款, 是西班牙火腳包著麵包條好好食,芝士也不錯.主菜魚不錯,薯蓉反而仲好食蜆肉意粉煮得干身,不太油唔錯甜品就麻麻,D撻皮太厚,不太合我胃口送的曲奇餅,叫侍應幫我們pack 走,pack 得靚靚的服務唔錯價錢唔平,頭盤非常豐富,可以一試

星期六一早出開上環,便再去很久沒有去過的Gaia 吃lunch可能是長江後浪推前浪,Gaia在最初開業的時候曾為中產甚至名流的聚腳點後來有很多價位相若的意大利餐廳開業了,Gaia的受歡迎程度亦隨之大減這天它供應的是semi buffet lunch頭盤有風乾火腿,沙樂美腸和一些意式頭盤特別是一些意式醃菜、燒茄子和雜菌沙律尤其出色主菜一: duck breast肉質不算軟熟,一般薯蓉很滑,有很濃的牛油味veggie gnocchi 不懂是否風格問題最近在外面吃到的gnocchi都與我以前吃到的差很遠我吃慣的gnocchi是很有咬口的,現在吃到的都幾乎是小丸子的硬度個人而言,還是硬一點好吃調味不錯,很清新的口味pan fried halibut處理得很好,皮超脆,肉質滑甜品只有2款放到自助餐桌一般性價比不算高,惟獨環境幾好

最近在外面吃到的gnocchi都與我以前吃到的差很遠
我吃慣的gnocchi是很有咬口的,現在吃到的都幾乎是小丸子的硬度
個人而言,還是硬一點好吃

題外話/補充資料: 1. 可能我太早到,很多東西也未有預備好 例如我要自己把夾子在盤子拿出放到不同食物碟上 而侍應在傾計也不幫忙 2. 外籍經理也給人一個未訓醒的感覺 3. 本來座到外面,但突然傳來強勁打庄聲 (是用很落後的很吵的一種打庄技術,實在驚訝為何可讓它在商業區出現) 實在大煞風景,惟有坐到室內去

Gaia USED to be our favorite restaurant. What happen while closed for "renovation"??

We were in love with this italian restaurant; quite expensive but the service was absolutely perfect, the food so fine and traditional with a little touch of originality, the terrace was quiet and everybody was anticipating our needs even though discreet. We were always welcomed with friendly smiles, appetizers, tasty bread and perfumed olive oil and thanked with sweets. We were very regular customers and spend lots of money there.

Then they closed for "renovation". The experimented and nice servers moved to Isola, at IFC, and we looked forward to the reopening for a long long time.


Finally it opened and we were excited to discover the new interior. But nothing changed. Nothing?...

We were installed at a table on the terrace, right under the kitchen's ventilation. New and disgusting....

No appetizer, the food was correct but the service a disaster! The new waiters have no experience, very bad organized and look at you like as you were mad when you ask for something. We ordered coffee but no more sweets were offered.

Disappointing, but it was their first day, so... we came back yesterday evening, one week later.

The whole terrace was crowded (?) which never happened even on weekdays. We were installed in a table inside and waited 15 min. to get the menu - I helped myself.
The waiters were wandering around like lost, chatting together during our whole dinner. No appetizer (for us because some other customers were more lucky
), we waited 10 min. more for our glass of wine and some bread. After 20 minutes more, we received our zucchini and mozzarella pizza. The food was really so so, Pizza Express does tastier pizzas!!!
(I am from Switzerland, the country right next to Italy, so you can trust my taste!!) Then we waited for a looooong time and I ate all the bread basket (thanks for my waist!!!)


Our five oxtail raviolis were nonetheless delicious.... Yes, FIVE! They are getting soooo cheap!!!

I was really angry. We explained to the waitress that we used to be regular and welcomed with appetizers, and have some sweets etc. She looked confused and explained us that the kitchen's staff was new and not enough... What the hell?!? I am a comprehensive person but this restaurant is REALLY expensive and tries to give an air of luxury. We spent lots of money and three hours in total. NO MORE!

Sure thing, my LAST dinner at Gaia!!

一班同事一行6人係中環悶悶地無咩野做去左Gaia Ristorante 食個lunch~同事話一間比較正常既西餐廳~ 由於無訂位只可任由安排~坐一張圓台~ 西餐都應該比較少見~ 不過上面有一大個吊燈~ 大家都比較餓~ 所以都係食set lunch, 點roasted beef 同salad barsalad bar 非常新鮮~ 可以encore!!main dish 就.... 孩到你唔信... 食左好銀胃... 已經係5成熟....

放工幾個人一齊去Gaia Ristorante坐低飲杯嘢傾下計。我哋一行四人坐係戶外嗰邊,叫咗個parma ham pizza,同埋一人一杯意大利啤酒。個parma ham pizza夠薄味香,簡單就是美。不過聽同事講,係呢到食晚餐係一級價錢普遍質素。等我下次試下先。

難得四月初的天氣還是清涼,不悶熱。今天約了客户在上環午膳,因利乘便最後跑到這裡.....在港島區鬧市中的 alfresco dinning 並不常見。此店實在有點兒得天獨厚,佔盡地利。雖不是極遠離經常擁塞之皇后大道中,但亦保持一段適當距離,免得鄰經汽車之廢氣跑進貴客肚子裡。室內的裝修亦見精緻,沒有刻意營造的金堆玉砌裝飾,換來是簡潔,高雅的環境。特別鐘愛那木地板.....給我一種住家溫暖的感覺。午餐包括 salad bar 及主菜。當然,salad bar 的一大亮點是手切的 parma ham,任君大嚼。Parma ham 大底可分 prosciutto di Parma 和 proscuitto di San Daniele。個人對前者不太欣賞,反而 di San Daniele 因口味較甜更合我口胃,di Parma 是有點太鹹,太重松子味。其它的火腿類食品亦不乏,所有食品看來都是高級進口貨,算得上是不欺場。主菜是 Schiacciatina di Pollo Grigliata con Insalatina 即簡單點來說 - 燒雞胸肉。Paillard 烹調方法是將肉切成片後處理

主菜是 Schiacciatina di Pollo Grigliata con Insalatina 即簡單點來說 - 燒雞胸肉。Paillard 烹調方法是將肉切成片後處理。好處是快熟又不會讓肉汁大量流失。很可惜我點的雞胸肉有點兒 over cooked。反而 balsamic vingear dressing 做得不俗,酸濃度適中,想必是用上高級陳醋。

客户有點趕時間,飯後匆忙離去,留下我獨個兒細嚼咖啡,涼風徐起,舒服得不能言語,偷得浮生半日閑之感油然而生。在上環能找到這種安逸的地方享受一頓午膳實不容易,所以難怪此店在上環經營多年亦能屹立不倒,看來主因不全是食物而多半是環境因素所致........

The casatella cheese appetizer was reminiscent of Da Domenico's grilled scamorza (also served with aged balsamic vinegar) but accompanied by assorted grilled veg which were quite sweet & fresh. The cheese itself was not quite as good as Da Domenico's scamorza but considering the fact that it is priced lower even with the range of yummy grilled veg, it does not seem wrong to order it here. The pastas, although not the best in town, are decent and probably above the standards of most so-called Italian restaurants in Hong Kong. However they did not exactly leave much impression so I'm not going to say any further than "not bad!".

Dessert was a tad too boring for a restaurant on the fancier side of the spectrum. The way things were presented seemed to show effort but an unfortunate lack of skill. Tastewise they were "ok" but seriously, nothing more than "ok". It simply didn't have the "wow" factor that ends a meal on a high note.

All in all a reasonably good restaurant, worth a visit when you crave something Italian but not outrageously expensive. The chilled out atmosphere and availability of outdoor tables also makes Gaia more suitable for casual dinners with friends than hotel-nested restaurants which can be stuffy at times.

因為公司要員要回歸, 講明想食"意大利"菜. 經某某介紹話超讚水準, 而且在網上睇到好多個唔好的評分. 呢間位於上環的意大利餐廳, 一行13人.我會比個咁低o既評分, 係因為..........先從餐廳傳真set定o既只有3個course o既晚餐.頭盆3選1, 有蝦沙津生牛肉芝士雜菜湯主菜4選1, 有佢地提出招牌菜"燒春雞"羊魚本來3選1的, 但因為有牛魔王, 所以加咗個牛, 餐廳話如果咁多選擇要每人加HKD50. 是但啦.最後係甜品, 冇得揀Sorbet with fresh fruit and Moreno cherry syrup咖啡或茶欠奉一入餐廳, 各自點飲品, 點咗杯橙汁, 得7成滿而且我從未飲過經過過慮的鮮搾橙汁, 可以一粒果肉都冇.頭盆我揀Beef Carpaccio, 賣相正常, 但貌似牛肉o既肉無牛肉味, 好彩仲有D cheese味. 左邊同事食沙拉, 嘩嘩嘩, 意大利田園風, 成兜都係菜, 又話有蝦o既? 原來好似有D男士送鑽戒比女朋友咁大, 有3隻蝦仔. 跟住又試咗右邊個同事少少菜湯, 5555555(無味)的.然後係主菜, 4個人點羊, 7個牛, 1個魚同1

正要開動時, 個waiter走呢話漏單, 隻雞唔記得煮, 仲要同我地講, 因為得一個人點雞, 所以漏咗, 就係咁就已經唔值咁o既收費啦. 我個同事即刻反應話, 嘩嘩嘩啲咩解釋呀, 點講都係你地唔啱啦, 你反而講因為只有一個人點雞所以漏單?????? 唔漏都漏咗, 唯有叫個watier盡快叫廚房做啦, 佢又話要10分鐘. 早知漏單就唔好同我地上菜啦, 咁我地食唔食好呀?

更奇怪o既係, 魚都係得一個人叫姐, 又唔漏單ga???????

成間餐廳室內得我地13個人, 外面就得幾丁友添.
咁都可以漏得單???
跟住梗係食啦, 3舊用燒焦咗的煙肉片包住o既羊肉, 有D又碎又雜o既雜菜同一匙potato puree. 嘩, 又要嘩嘩嘩, 好鹹呀, 我個同事以為我誇張唔信, 點知佢食完話唔好再食啦, 的伴碟菜一樣"鹹"死人, 乜意大利人真係食得鹹? 邊度o既意大利人食得咁鹹呀? 佢地會唔會個個都有腎石呢? 見到對面個同事食牛, 名副其實燒牛燒得好鬼均勻添(成舊都係炭黑色), 切開連裡面都well done, 加上張刀唔係食牛用o既. 見佢食得又切得辛苦, 仲有佢舊牛仲鹹過我啲羊.

成村人食食食, 你都知個主菜份量都唔方會多啦, 由其我得3舊5蚊銀咁大舊既羊肉, 一早就食完啦, 但隻雞仲未到. 再問點解仲未得, 個waiter去廚房番來講原先要20分鐘, 因為漏單, 所以已經將火加大都要10分鐘ga, 吓, 又10分鐘,, 咁到底幾時開始計10分鐘呀? 2分鐘後另一個waiter又呢講, 不如改牛或羊啦, 會快D. 咁我問係唔係牛同羊即刻有, 雞就要再等10分鐘呀, 佢話唔係, 牛同羊要5分鐘, 雞要7分鐘, 咁我地梗係話差2分鐘梗係要雞啦, 而且雞又話係你地的招牌菜wor. 點知又黎另一條西裝友, 話不如改食牛或羊啦, 因為隻雞仲要等10分鐘, 嘩我地成班的火就真係起啦, 不早講今日無雞食啦. 大家都食完, 佢又囉唔出隻雞, 無選擇下唯有改食牛啦.
咁無雞供應, 先前要加我地HKD50話我地咁多選擇, 咁係唔係會退返比我地????????答覆係無o既.

我大大話話去過好多5/6星級餐廳, 而且食盡法式, 意式, 歐洲式至中式或港式茶餐廳, 都未試過以上的經驗. 我只可以以超星級收費, 超低水準服務同食物來形容.
