二月下旬星期四中午,天氣微暖。今天收到消息要見接見客戶,而且只有一個小時多的時間,臨時真的不知道可以帶他到哪,上網找到上環這家餐廳好像不錯,也有露天餐座,就訂位看看。到達後在門前已經有服務生迎接我們,露天位挺寬廣,全用紅色大陽傘,座位有坐墊跟背墊,非常舒服。服務生隨即奉上麵包盤,有麵包棒,法式長麵包還有薄餅皮,全是新鮮焗製。也有意大利橄欖油及黑醋菜單有半自助餐跟主菜和咖啡茶的配搭,價錢吸引,不過由於我們時間不多,所以只選了半自助餐。進去裡面拿菜,雙眼立刻發亮,選擇非常的多,有必備基本的起司,巴馬火腿跟意大利辣肉腸,海鮮的種類出乎意料的多:香草大蝦、雞尾蝦、青口跟大花螺。螺肉肉厚彈牙,雞尾蝦用鹽醃過,海水味突出,不過大蝦肉質就大散,明顯鮮度不足。沙拉盤有蟹腳青瓜、吞拿魚生菜、紅菜頭沙拉、香草章魚西芹等,個人最愛蟹腳青瓜,青瓜夠味,跟蟹腳配搭完美,想不到蔬菜類的製作也這麼認真。最後的甜點我們拿了焦糖布甸跟提拉米蘇,不得不讚提拉米蘇的低部夠濕潤,而且不會成糊狀,味道層次分明;焦糖布甸不會過甜,加上野莓解膩感,黑巧克力方塊濃香細滑,真的一試愛上。四周有不少外國人用餐,或者談生意,這裡的服務,食

進去裡面拿菜,雙眼立刻發亮,選擇非常的多,有必備基本的起司,巴馬火腿跟意大利辣肉腸,海鮮的種類出乎意料的多:香草大蝦、雞尾蝦、青口跟大花螺。螺肉肉厚彈牙,雞尾蝦用鹽醃過,海水味突出,不過大蝦肉質就大散,明顯鮮度不足。

沙拉盤有蟹腳青瓜、吞拿魚生菜、紅菜頭沙拉、香草章魚西芹等,個人最愛蟹腳青瓜,青瓜夠味,跟蟹腳配搭完美,想不到蔬菜類的製作也這麼認真。

最後的甜點我們拿了焦糖布甸跟提拉米蘇,不得不讚提拉米蘇的低部夠濕潤,而且不會成糊狀,味道層次分明;焦糖布甸不會過甜,加上野莓解膩感,黑巧克力方塊濃香細滑,真的一試愛上。

四周有不少外國人用餐,或者談生意,這裡的服務,食物質素跟環境十分適合商務聚餐。

藏身於新紀元廣場中,你我常會經過,但會遺忘的餐廳。在此必須要一讚,店內擺設並未過份擠擁,互相保留一定的距離,而且具寧靜的空間,這是現在新開的西餐廳所忽略的。Menu有2 course(starter & main) 承惠$339,坦白說雖然starter有salad bar選擇,但仍然與一些5星級酒店lunch buffet的價錢非常接近,也許會令有些人卻步。Starter筆者進去餐廳時,店內並沒有其他客人,因為害怕salad bar的菜不新鮮,所以退而求其次選擇了湯(這樣卻令筆者後悔不已)。這個湯用了大量的菠菜絲、chopped tomatoes、少量的黃豆和parmesan cheese,這個湯是非常的清,基本上沒有什麼味道,卻感受到parmesan cheese的香味,由作增加香氣的配角變成整道菜的主角,是拯救這道菜不致於失敗的關鍵。Main這道菜叫人驚艷?不!這是穩打穩札的main來的。首先是擺盤上利用厚青瓜片托起比較薄的魚,營造一個魚身變厚的感覺。可能有些讀者會覺得這塊魚那麼薄,能吃到的肉那麼少,怎可能會值三百多元呢?但大家要留意一下魚的皮是煎的酥脆的,而且整體煎狀態都是一致

Starter
筆者進去餐廳時,店內並沒有其他客人,因為害怕salad bar的菜不新鮮,所以退而求其次選擇了湯(這樣卻令筆者後悔不已)。這個湯用了大量的菠菜絲、chopped tomatoes、少量的黃豆和parmesan cheese,這個湯是非常的清,基本上沒有什麼味道,卻感受到parmesan cheese的香味,由作增加香氣的配角變成整道菜的主角,是拯救這道菜不致於失敗的關鍵。

Main
這道菜叫人驚艷?不!這是穩打穩札的main來的。首先是擺盤上利用厚青瓜片托起比較薄的魚,營造一個魚身變厚的感覺。可能有些讀者會覺得這塊魚那麼薄,能吃到的肉那麼少,怎可能會值三百多元呢?但大家要留意一下魚的皮是煎的酥脆的,而且整體煎狀態都是一致的,沒有一個地方煎得比較焦,一些地方的皮不脆。如果用了比較厚身的魚,就會將焦點放在魚肉上(而不是魚皮),這次用的魚皮和肉比例相約,卻能同時表演出魚皮的香脆和肉的柔軟。另外這個魚煎的時候加了白蘭地,令整個魚的風味有所提升,但蓋過醬汁的味道,真是有得必有失。

結語
每個人對餐廳的需求不一樣,有些人可能認為比較貴,不過如果你對環境要求比較高,這間餐廳是值得推薦,而且它的服務水準很高。

9月最後一個工作日,心情靚靚、要食豪d! 呢間意大利餐廳,一個lunch buffet+main course $308,buffet 係前菜沙拉任食,大約有十款左右。甫一坐底,服務員就會放上一籃餐包,3-4種面包,只有長長脆脆的那款好食,其他正常味!然後就到左夾沙拉時間,開頭不以為然,作為食肉怪覺得沙拉好食都有限,點知原來款款都好好食(原諒我詞窮)。朋友子最愛甜菜頭(佢第二次光顧都係為左甜菜頭),口感似蒸薯仔,但味道好清甜,真係唔錯;而我最喜歡就係蘑菇,菇味好鮮,可以不停食食食;之後黎到main course, 一款似蒸又似煎的魚,另一款蛋薄餅,兩樣都有少少失望。魚肉就太「鞋」,可能食慣廣東菜,追求又嫩又滑的魚肉;另一款就太淡味,不過朋友子就覺得ok!最後黎到甜品,甜品有4款,其中有1款我地真係好好好鐘意,就算食飽左,都想再黎多一件,唔知叫咩名,但你地可以睇睇相,一定要試下!

Was planning on going to another restaurant in Central, but it was raining quite heavily at the time so my family and I decided against travelling as we were already in Sheung Wan. Mum suggested this restaurant which she has walked past quite a few times before, but never got the chance to try it out as it's on the expensive side. We thought we should give it a try today, and we were all very satisfied! 

We all had the set lunch menu, which was 308/person excluding 10% service charge. Yes, it is on the pricier side but I have to say it's of great value. It includes either a Tuscan style soup or the salad & dessert buffet, a main, and a coffee/tea. We all chose the semi-buffet option, and ordered 2 grilled chicken breasts, a carbonara spaghetti and a pesto fettuccine as our mains to share. 

The buffet had a decent range of options, including seafood and desserts. Everything was very fresh - especially the prawns. Desserts included my favourite tiramisu and creme brûlée, and they were all of great standard. Grilled chicken breasts were surprisingly juicy, and carbonara was egg-based instead of cream-based, which was interesting. Overall, the food quality is pretty high.

Environment-wise, nice and relaxing, quiet but not too quiet. Good customer service. It provides a nice outdoor (but covered) area too, but we stayed indoors because it was raining and humid. 

Highly recommended, would definitely come back again!

Came here for the set menu on a Sunday with antipasti and dessert buffet. We had a really lovely time watching the world go by while filling up on tasty antipasti. The service was excellent, the was food good and any dessert buffet with tiramisu is the stuff of my dreams. Not a vast buffet or free-flow but nice food and lovely calm Sunday vibe.

我點的main course係半熟蛋配脆脆,伴上辣肉番茄醬。味道好好,辣肉碎和番茄撈上半熟蛋汁,加埋脆薄餅,好滋味。可惜係份量唔多夠男仔食,要再去沙律吧填飽個肚😂

The atmosphere here is very nice. 鬧市中的一片緣州. It is not my first time here, surprisingly the services improved a lot. They keep their high standard on Italian food. Their squids platter with shrimp r one of the best in town.

寫開意大利菜有條癮,索性一併將上週五,兩口子在上環 Gaia Ristorante 的慶祝晚餐也記錄下來~原來,隨著越來越多的新派意菜、Cafe 開張,傳統的意菜店卻是日漸式微,喜歡吃意大利菜的朋友,是時間多多支持一下它們了!  而其實上環的 Gaia,放在 Wishlist 中已經很多年了~最近一直在整理意法蜜月之旅的照片,吃完 Maison es 的法國餐,也想兩口子到訪一間傳統意大利餐廳,Gaia 這名未突然湧上心頭。 其實9月30日也不是老公真正生日,加上早前的「最強小三」經歷,這晚當然不會傻得把 Matthew and Chloe 也帶上,兩口子靜靜享受一頓意式晚餐好了! 始終是那麼多年來的傳統及歷史,餐廳內流露古典美以及自然而然的懦懶感,這是許多新派意菜所沒有的。人在其中,很自然就放輕鬆下來,情懷更加有如回到過去拍拖/初婚時光! 喜歡早飯的我們,初時還包了好一些的場(以前也常常是這樣子!),直到後來人慢慢的多,不過寫意感覺依然,在這裡用餐是非常舒適的~ 一開始麵包籃上場,不用說要添加橄欖油及黑醋一起吃,才盡興。年輕時愛呻醋(說的是吃方面,另一方面大家自己去考問郭生 XD

一開始麵包籃上場,不用說要添加橄欖油及黑醋一起吃,才盡興。年輕時愛呻醋(說的是吃方面,另一方面大家自己去考問郭生 XD),喜歡醋油八二比;現在則喜歡油醋相約,甚至油多於醋,口味不經不覺隨年歲改變了!

繼麵包之後,還有每人一件餐前小吃(不能叫 Amuse bouche,那是法菜用字)奉上,是鯷魚沙律盞,味道沒有太鹹,更突出反而是橄欖油香,不錯。

當日午餐吃得有點晚也有點飽,所以只每人選了一款頭盤,一款肉類主菜,跳過了 Pasta 留胃口給甜品;但因份量頗大,結果也比預期中更飽足!

我點了 BURRATA Caprese with fresh tomatoes PARMA ham and black olives crumbs ($238), 超喜歡軟滑富奶香的 burrata 流心芝士,雖然不該這樣比較,但真的比美心流心月餅好吃太多了!拌上超清甜的番茄,簡直是無以尚之的人間美味;同上的巴馬火腿也柔軟、鹹度適中,吃時可捲一點碟邊的橄欖碎,除了好吃也更添滋味。超推介的頭盤!

頭盤我勝了一仗,不過來到主菜,我選的 Poached NORDIC COD fish with OLIVE OIL, parsley and BOTTARGA sauce ($288) 就較為遜色。沒辦法,總是搞不清鱈魚家族群,常常點錯相;這天的魚不是不新鮮,肉質也不俗,但始終不能與油分高、肉特滑的 black cod 比~

不過我也滿欣賞大廚添加大量蔬菜在底,面層又加上紫薯脆片的心思;除了味道好吃,這些配菜也非常健康,為菜式大大加了分~

這晚老公威威,點的 VEAL CHOP grilled with olive oil and home made coffee mustard ($338) 簡直可用驚為天人來形容。羊肉已作去骨處理,每件外邊帶微微焦香,同時又帶適量的芳香肥膏,肉質超嫩(絕對比魚嫩很多)更勝BB肌,微微羶香滋味極讚!

印象中,在香港吃到同樣出色的羊肉,除了這裡只有已結業的 Toscany(8½ Otto e Mezzo BOMBANA 大廚之前的餐廳,他現在所有餐廳都是現代風,有時也幾想念 Toscany...),才有這等水準!除了羊肉好吃,配菜的薯泥也很滑。

來到甜品環節,這晚有點瘋狂地點了三款之多,包括 Affagato - Vanilla gelao with Espresso coffee in a Pistachio cup ($98),除了雲尼拿雪糕及濃縮咖啡這經典組合,同上的開心果味小脆杯(可打碎放在咖啡湯中享用),也是亮點之一!

以往一見心太軟就會瘋狂,這晚也點了 Warm bittersweet chocolate LAVA cake, apricot and almond sauce, caramel gelato ($98) 來回味;但這心太軟不算太高質,更讓我瘋狂是同上的焦糖味 gelato,如果大球些就好了!

最後是寫上生日(偽)祝福的 Our Tiramisu in a glass ($98),成品很美,又香又滑很好吃,份量又足,是三款甜品中最出色的;難得是甜品上檯時,餐廳更會播放懷舊生日歌,真感動!

好久沒有這樣放肆的大吃甜品,加上侍者姐姐拍照時微微錯 focus,富朦朧美的照美更有往日氣息了!而其實餐廳是越夜越美麗的,不過相機已經拍到沒電,而我們也是時間回去與兩兄妹講 bed time stories 啦!十月底正式生日時,再找找有沒值得再訪的傳統意菜館吧~

Gaia is back. Great service and great food. Even sitting outside, I feel good with all the fans blowing on me. Had the seabass, well de bone and great taste. I will come back again.

We've lunch there more than 4 years. We usually enjoy their buffet set which are full of fresh seafood and our favourite cheese, the taste is always in high level overall. BUT the variety of choices are reduced, a lot since last year, no more Mozzarella😔

I booked table for four including our kids, 8 and 5, to celebrate new year on Dec 31 for lunch. Antipasti buffet with main entree is $308 per head but despite five waiters we had the worst service ever. My daughter ordered a la carte and the risotto was way too salty with the anchovies. I like anchovies but the chef did a double take on the salt and lost the balance in the food.What's even more frustrating was that after each plate of antipasti we had to self serve and dump the plates on neigh

What's even more frustrating was that after each plate of antipasti we had to self serve and dump the plates on neighbouring tables before we can be seated comfortably .

Despite repeated signaling we were not served as all the waiters were way too engrossed with tonite's decoration. There were all but TWO tables in total in the whole restaurant so there's no need to bring out the ladder and dust the place while guests like us are having lunch !!!

The food was so so surely far cry from what it once was but it's the horrendous service which got us!

Definitely not a place I would ever come back to. What a disappointment!!!!

When we arrive, there are only two tables including ours. It's not busy but despite having one maitre d and five waiters nobody served us. After each and every plate of our antipasti buffet we had to lug the dishes and dump them on the neighbouring table as despite repeated requests no waiter cared to help .

All the while we were there they were all 10000% engaged and engrossed in preparing for the setting and decoration for the big dinner tonight.

With a total of three tables in all even with we asked for the check, I saw no reason the haste needed. The only reason is "I don't freaking care, I wanna finish my must-do duties then it's siesta time until the kingdom come!!!!"

I would never ever come back again.

I've been wanting to try this place for some time, and finally made it. Gaia Group restaurants never displease my taste buds. The patio would have been great, if only it was cooler weather so opted for inside. Next time, for sure. Calimari on the menu, and glad we ordered it. It was delicious, and only disappointed was that there wasn't more! Good app choice. The mussels and clams were delicious, and the sauce was just divine. For truffle fans, you got to try the pizza. Crispy thin, just the way I like it. A little bit on the oily side though. Nevertheless definitely will come back for more pizza!

A friend tried the pasta, which I was told was only ok. Still worth posting as it did look good for a pasta lover like me.... Try next time, and yes, will be back. Salute!
