Hummus is an absolute staple in Middle Eastern cuisine. The creamy dip served here was tastiest with smooth fluffy texture. Flavour-wise, it was quite garlicky with mild smokiness and there was right amount of olive oil to elevate the richness.

Served hot, the bread was so pillowy with crispy top layer. Spread on top was a thin layer of za'atar oil, it didn’t make the bread too greasy but the flavour was rather bland. The bread was also slightly too thin for me, but still a perfect vessel for the hummus and the baked feta.

I would understand why people come for the dish. The baked feta was served right out of oven in a pool of bubbling hot honey. It was addictively pungent and luscious, highly recommended to couple it with the flatbread.

The lamb was juicy and with pink flesh. I also loved its combination with pistachios that derived more interesting layers. Personally the taste of lamb was not deep or robust enough considering that lamb is commonly more flavourful in Middle Eastern joints.

Smoky Hummus $70


A week ago this was $65. The portion is not proportional to the price and they only gave 3 scoops of it in a pretty small bowl.


Nonetheless, this was perhaps the tastiest dish of the night. The texture is smooth but not too rich and thick. The taste is garlicky with the right amount of tahini. It is also decently fluffy and airy. The oil on top is less than what other restaurants give but enough to coat and give the hummus a boost of lush.

Beetroot Labneh $60


We ordered this because it was so captivating to look at but the taste was mediocre. It does not have the distinct richness of labneh (a strained yogurt with a texture similar to soft cheese, the flavour should be tangy and slightly salty and very creamy) and definitely did not taste house-made. The beetroot taste is way too powerful and grassy which made it taste very ‘healthy’ but not in a good way. The za’atar on top gave it an herbaceous flavour but did not work well together.

Homemade Flatbread $65 (was $60 last week)


I had relatively high expectations for this after hearing the praises and seeing the thick pieces of flatbread everywhere. I could not have be more disappointed.


First off, the flatbread is is very thin and nothing like the photos I see online. The bottom is soggy and deflated whilst the top layer is crispy but literally peeled off the bread. The top layer is covered in a za’atar oil which gives it flavour but it makes it very greasy and they aren’t generous with the amount of za’atar given.


This 100% reminded me of the commercial white sandwich bread in supermarkets brushed with oil. The texture of the bread is not chewy and dense (which it should be if it was made with bread flour) but soft and airy, like white sandwich bread. It is entirely flavourless and heavily relies on the hummus. I refuse to believe that these are ‘homemade’ as it lacks the texture of flavour. But perhaps this just shows their incompetence in making decent bread.


I also want to point out that we asked for one more piece of bread to have with our remaining dips and they had the audacity to not only give us HALF a piece but also charge us an additional $22 for the limpest, softest, and thinnest piece of ‘flatbread’ I have ever had. All in all, we paid $90 for 2 full circles of flatbread. I can go to Maison Libanaise for 2 circles of pita for $88 or even free homemade and delicious flatbread from Francis for free when I order their $90 hummus. Don’t waste your money here.

Honey Baked Feta $145


The IG famous baked feta is probably the biggest reason we came here. I’m so sorry to disappoint everyone but it is absolutely not worth your time or money and you could pretty much make this at home.


The feta arrived hot and fresh out of the oven with its bubbling honey and charred cheese. The first bite of this was amazing, the feta is salty and creamy whilst the honey is sweet, sticky and slightly floral due to the lavender. Unfortunately, there was some unbalance between the sweet and salty aspect of this dish. The feta on one hand is way too salty and the honey is way to sweet. It needed some acid to bring these two together in harmony.


However, the bites afterwards was terrible. The feta has hardened and started to crumble apart. The honey has crystallised and become overly stick and hard, to the point where it resembles amber (from the fossils).


The portion too shocked the both of us. This tiny block of feta is no bigger than the palm of my hand (not including fingers) and we only got four bites with the bread out of it. I could make this at home at half the price with these two ingredients.

Charred Broccoli $145


This is one of the dishes I heard people raving about so we had to try.


The presentation of this is already off putting. Only great chefs can serve same coloured food on a plate and get away with it. I have no idea what I’m eating as the load of kale covers everything up.


The broccoli itself is entirely flavourless, did they not season with salt and pepper? Even worse, the stem was still hard and crunchy but fortunately the florets are tender albeit flavourless. Where is the flavour, you might ask? Well, it is probably hiding in the teaspoon (you read correctly) of zhoug they gave on the bottom. I was actually speechless at the amount of sauce they gave us, it was barely enough to cover half the portion. Zhoug is a Middle Eastern green sauce made from chilli, herbs, oil and garlic. The little amount given here is fresh and garlicky but the intensity is diluted by the labneh which is again flavourless.


The crispy kale on top is very crispy and I actually enjoyed the texture a lot as it contrasted with the tender florets. But it was in dire need of seasonings; even some salt would have made this so much better. They also gave way too much kale (the only time they went heavy) which was just unnecessary.


The portion is ludicrous. $145 for not even half a broccoli.

Roasted Celeriac $140


Celeriac is root vegetable that you don’t normally find in HK restaurants. I was pretty excited by this and decided I had to try it. This was the biggest mistake I made this year.


The cook on the celeriac is horrendous, they sliced it before cooking (which no one ever does) and still managed to undercook it. The resulting texture is firm and tough. And don’t even get me started on the taste. I had one bite and practically forced it down my throat; my friend couldn’t even eat another bite. It was weirdly and extremely bitter. We asked what was in this and they said they used toasted mustard seeds. I guess the combination of those seeds with the brown butter and the tahini just overloaded the dish and made it inedible. Perhaps some people would like this bizarre combination of flavours but we could not stand it. And for the record, I love bizarre flavour combinations and would eat anything.


The good news is that we gave our thoughts back to the staff and they said they would remove it from our bill (given we only ate one piece) but then started to push and recommend other dishes to us as a response to make up for the horrible experience we had. We caved and ordered two more dishes as we wanted to give them another chance.

Seasonal Pickles $40


The chef saw our much displeased faces after the Celeriac and gave us their house made seasonal pickles for free as a way to regain our trust and tastebuds.


All three had similar if not identical flavour profiles but they did taste very nice. The pickling was done with just the right amount of acid and sugar for just the right amount of time. The radish in particular is very crisp and refreshing. The carrot is quite hard but able to retain its natural flavour. The cauliflower lacked the most flavour but the crunchiness was great.


Still, I would never pay $40 for this.

Sweet potato falafel $60


This is one of the dishes we ordered after the Celeriac due to the persistence of the waiter. We told them we wouldn’t be able to finish all 4 pieces of falafel (regular portion) especially if we didn’t like them and asked for a taster if possible. They said they would specifically prepare one piece for each of us and still charged us for it after practically forcing us to order it.


The falafel is unlike the typical falafel. Not crunchy or crispy on the other side with a fluffy interior. It is basically just soft, moulded sweet potatoes. I guess they don’t fry it to make it healthier but then don’t market them as falafels. These balls of sweet potato tasted like sweet potatoes which is not bad but just way to one dimensional. The texture too is akin to baby food and I’m so glad there are some quinoa mixed with chopped pickles (same as their seasonal pickles) to give it some texture. Although they were very stingy with them.


Also, they said this would have a tahini sauce on it but it is literally one drizzle on top which accounted for zero flavour and moisture for the each bite. It was honestly embarrassing to see the drop of tahini sauce left after I pick up the ‘falafel’.

Roasted Local Eggplant $150


The second dish we ordered in order for them to redeem themselves and this just cemented our impression of them forever.


Firstly, what kind of restaurant would charge $150 for 4 TINY pieces of eggplant. That itself is already absurd. However, the eggplant does have a great texture that is silky and tender but again, it is under seasoned. And finally, there is a generous amount of sauce!! But the sauce is a incredibly bitter and thick tahini sauce that was not mixed with water and lemon juice (the basis for tahini sauce) which in addition with the toasted sesame seeds and chilli oil just overpowered the whole dish and made it intensely bitter. There were also big chunks of pistachio which just did not belong in this dish. I get they wanted to add some nuts for texture but suddenly biting onto a hard pistachio after having my mouth full of soft eggplant is just an unpleasant surprise.

💬 Overall, a horrendous experience here from the food to the service (we told the staff how displeased we were with the food but they did not seem to care), I also don’t understand why they charge guests for extra flatbread when they are also in charge of the portion size for dips. For this price ($900 total for 2 pax), I could have gone to both Maison Libanaise or Francis!


Every dish is either unbalanced in terms of taste and texture, or bitter due to the lack of knowledge regarding the flavour combinations they chose. I understand that some chefs are able to merge different flavours and ingredients together and create a magnificent dish, but they entails prior knowledge and practice. Perhaps I’m wrong and that some people actually enjoy their flavours. But both me and my friend agreed that this meal was one of the worst we’ve ever had.

依個藍莓醬千層酥配雲呢拿雪糕簡直係世界級,所以要壓軸出場!首先千層酥唔係平時食開個啲,反而有啲似豬肉紙,好薄身好脆口,同雲呢拿雪糕嘅口感完全相反但互相襯托得好完美👍🏻淋左鹽味焦糖醬後加入左第三種味道,藍莓、雲呢拿、焦糖全部有各自特色,但又好match同甜而不漏(雖然淋左醬後第一眼望落有少少似乳豬🤣)。食緊依個甜品時覺得自己跌入左另一個空間,壽星女表示好滿足🥰

Always wonder if the quality of food can keep in good standard after I haven’t visited for years. Still busy as last time I visited 2 years ago. Love to see a restaurant getting packed! Counter top is always my favourite spot. Can sit side by side with my friend and check out what’s going on in the kitchen. Ordered homemade flatbread and Smoky hummus to start. Love the smoky flavour in the hummus make a twist. Flatbread is hot, soft and fluffy. Then the Baked Feta Cheese with infused lavender HK

Then the Baked Feta Cheese with infused lavender HK Raw honey is served. Still amazing like the past. The slightly sweetness goes well with the feta. Only one thing is missing now…. More flatbread lol

First main. Garlic prawn. I was surprised the fennel actually steals the thunder. Prawns are nice but i prefer they could be charcoal grilled more to have a crispy layer. Feel it’s now a bit soaking underneath the sauce.

Second main. Grilled chicken. Chicken fillet is tender with lovely charcoal grilled on the skin. One thing i am not a huge fans of middle east cuisine is sometime they put too much spices. But the spice they put here is just right. Thumb up to that!

We order the broccoli as a side. They charcoal grilled the broccoli. Cover them with crispy kale. As a big fans of broccoli, this dish is approved!


Good to see they are still doing well. Staffs are friendly and working efficiently. Great spot for dininh in Soho!

呢個其實係用左中東整牛肉既方式去整鴨肉
個人幾中意呢一道菜 因為個鴨肉真係做得幾出色!
鴨肉肉質非常柔軟 唔似平時果陣好結實
特別中意入面有mixed herbs 石榴籽 中東調味醬
中和番鴨肉高脂肪既油膩感 值得一試👍👍

同上次一樣都係有呢個蒜蓉蝦!
係同西班牙蒜油蝦食材有啲似 - 橄欖油滾蒜蓉 洋蔥
但食落係好唔同 - 再加入茴香 辣椒 檸檬 蒜蓉puree
雖然得一隻蝦 但佢都幾大隻下 仲好新鮮爽口彈牙~

本身見人地話有烤羊架,但係最近好似轉左餐牌,已經唔多覺有咁😟主食選擇唔多下揀左呢個,大蝦口感新鮮彈牙,調味以蒜片、洋蔥、奶油同埋檸檬等為主,但感覺都係偏溫和,唔會係好重口味既🍋
