接下來開展了主菜的部份,打頭陣的有金黃椰菜仔配醃辣椒和鷹嘴豆蓉。椰菜仔是西餐中常見的材料,具有抗癌、通便、降血壓及抗氧化等功效,營養價值很高。不過一般來說椰菜仔的味道傾向苦澀,但BEDU則善用了中東香料盛產地的優勢,利用各種香料將椰菜仔自身的苦澀味蓋過,令菜式一上桌已經散發出攝人的香料氣味,配合各款香料快炒過的椰菜仔表皮非常香脆,味道十分惹味,實在令人停不了口。

要數到整晚最喜歡的菜式,非這道黃金雜菇莫屬。碟上堆上滿滿的香葉和洋蔥,中間以數層薄薄的酥皮相隔,底層則是雜菇和香料飯。中間夾層的酥皮實在令人驚喜,鬆脆得只要輕輕一咬便能聽到清脆利落的聲音。中東除了盛產香料外,堅果類製品亦是生產地之一,這道菜式則加入了杏仁,配以香料入饌更能突顯中東菜層次豐富的味道,甚具中東特色。

這道賣相像烤肉的竟然是蜜桃!蜜桃用上哈里薩辣醬烤焗,再配上百里香乳酪和蜜糖中和辣醬的辣度,令菜式味道變得更易入口。咬下去先是感受到哈里薩辣醬刺激的味道,緊接的是蜜桃的Juicy,當中的甜度加上百里香乳酪和蜜糖正好讓甜與辣中取得一個平衡點。來到這裡有沒有發現以上每一道菜式都加入了許多中東盛產的香料?在云云香料中竟然能夠配搭成各式各樣的菜式,料理真是一門千變萬化的學問,實在令人嘆為觀止。

整頓晚餐最後以一客酒漬雜莓千層酥配西瓜冰沙作結,香脆鬆化的酥皮與新鮮的雜莓層層相間,熱騰騰的酥皮帶有一點香甜味道,配上雜莓酸中帶甜的清新果香,而冰涼的西瓜冰沙再將千層酥昇華上更高的層次,是整道甜點的一大點綴。

As always with mediterranean cuisine, it all starts with bread (yay!)
And these pitas served at Bedu were def among the best we’ve had! Piping hot from the oven, chewy and fluffy, and with a gorgeous crisp n char on the outside🤤🤤 went perfect with the beetroot and mint labneh which was incredibly creamy, smooth and refreshing.

Another highlight of the night!🌟

This is one of Bedu’s signatures so we held high hopes for it.
The lamb racks came beautifully cooked and marinated. Meat was incredibly tender, and the garlicky labneh plus sweet pomegranate bits were the best accompaniments!
But tbh, we’ve had better lamb racks😛 not that these weren’t good, just that they lacked a little oomph in flavour. (Esp since this is supposed to be the signature!)

Featuring juicy watermelon cubes, a super refreshing mint sorbet and some almond slices for some crunch, this light dessert made the perfect ending to our meal😚

Overall, thought the mains we tried, while still good, lacked that surprise element. Nonetheless, everything else we absolutely loved‼️ Plus, the ambience and service were spot on! Would love to come back for their other dishes which seem equally mouth-watering!😋

I ordered a cocktail to start, called 'Vega' ($100), the drink has a nice mix of Pavan Liqueur, Lime, Lemon, Grapefruit, Orange, Fresh Mint and Orange Blossom. Originally the base spirit is vodka but I had it changed to gin instead, after getting recommendations from the staff who asked me what type of cocktail I prefer. She is really helpful and friendly, getting us off to a good start of our dining experience.

To start we have the Smoky Hummus ($60) and Homemade Flatbread ($55). The hummus is a creamy dip made from chickpeas, garlic and tahini, then sprinkled with some paprika and parsley, and in the middle some olive oil. It is my first time trying this dip, and it is truly flavorful and delicious, and I think it is also very healthy too. I wish to get the recipe and make it at home in future.

The flatbread is also fantastic. Freshly baked from the oven, it is served still searingly hot, greatly seasoned making it highly irresistible. The texture is also phenomenal, with the crust a bit crunchy while the inside fluffy and chewy. A great complement pairing with the hummus, I definitely recommend all customers to try it out.

We then have the Sweet Spiced Tuna, with Preserved Lime Aioli and Black Sesame ($145). The tuna is fresh, slightly seared on the outside before cutting into slices, before putting some salad greens and beetroot on top. The garlic flavors of the aioli is enriched by the lime to add some nice acidity, which matches well with the fish. Another nice dish.

Another dish recommended by the staff which we ordered is the Baked Feta with Smoked Lemon and Thyme Honey ($115). Again a first time for me, the feta cheese is baked on a tray, to semi-melting level, and the sauce made from the lemon and thyme honey added great complexity to the cheese. Even my wife who are not a big fan of cheese like this very much. Yet again a wonderful dish.

Then came the Black Garlic and Pickled Chili Chicken Skewers ($140), the chicken is nicely grilled, still moist and juicy, with good seasonings to infuse the meat with nice flavors. The chili added a bit of a kick to the taste, and the sour cream provided a nice complement to the overall enjoyment of the dish.

Next is yet another interesting dish, the Harissa Grilled Peaches with Thyme, Labneh and Honey ($105). Harissa is a North African hot chili paste, made from roasted red peppers. After applying on the peaches they are grilled nicely, giving a spicy and sweet mixture on the peaches. Underneath is the labneh which is basically yogurt cheese. It helped to balance a bit on the spiciness of the peaches, making it extremely tasty.

Decided to also sample some desserts, I ordered the Set Yogurt, Honeycomb and Orange Blossom ($85). Served chilled, the yogurt is creamy and rich, and on top there are some caramel pieces. They are soon melted and when those seeped into the yogurt it added another dimension of flavors to the diners.

The other dessert is equally impressive. Drunken Berry Millefeuille with Watermelon Granita ($75). The millefeuille is crunchy, and sandwiched in between there are blueberry, raspberry and strawberry, all marinated with spirits beforehand. The granita is a semi-frozen 'shaved ice' made from watermelon juice which is light and delicious. Each blueberry is large in size too.

Service is good throughout the meal, with the staff helpful and not intrusive. The bill was $940, without any service charge so it is nice to tip extra. I found the Middle Eastern dishes all tasty and highlighting the individual flavors of the ingredients. I strongly recommend Bedu to anyone who like trying exotic food and care about the quality of the food.

Came here for lunch twice, once on a week day and once at weekend. This place has a bar and about 8-10 regular tables. Ambience is really nice, classy yet casual, perfect for a date or gathering with friends. The first time I came I had a lamb shoulder pita, which was yums as the lamb was tender and the beetroot labneh went surprisingly well (sorry not that familiar with middle eastern cuisine) with it. First came the pita and the dips. Pita was so hot that I could barely hold it with my fingers and had to put down for a moment to let it cool off a bit. Both the smoked hummus and beetroot labneh were good. The smoked hummus was denser and had a strong nutty flavour whereas the minted beetroot labneh was refreshing with its slight sourness.

Then came the veggies. The fennel salad had red onions, cucumber, pomegranate seeds and croutons in it. It was fresh just as a salad should be. The charred broccoli was more interesting. The leaves were crispy and tased a bit like 川椒 in Chiu Chow cuisine. The "body" of the broccoli was soft and juicy, not dry or burnt.

Next was the most anticipated lamb rack. It was juicy and did taste quite good, but we have had better elsewhere. We also noticed that the table next to us got thicker pieces which were still pink in the middle. Ours were pretty much well-done. The labneh that went with the lamb chops was basically strained yogurt, which we had never had with a savoury meat dish before. The combination was interesting and gave the dish a unity and complexity not found in the usual steak + side.

For dessert we ordered the set yogurt w/ honeycomb. It wasn't as big as this pic may make it look - it's not the size of a sauce pan so don't worry! It's perfect for sharing by two. The "yogurt" was sweeter than I had expected and not tart at all. To me it tasted more like molten ice cream except maybe thicker and not so cold. I think I would have preferred a little tartness to contrast with the sweetness of the honey crumbs. Still, it was not a bad ending to our meal. Overall we were quite satisfied, and would recommend this place for someone who wants some good middle eastern food in a cosy environment.

Bedu has been on my list for months – affordably priced middle eastern food, in what I can only describe as a so-chill-it-hurts setting; they have DJs on Sunday afternoon!

Unlike some other hot middle-eastern restaurants (*cough* Francis), Bedu takes reservations, which is a god-send as it’s pretty packed every night. It’s a compact restaurant that fits about 1/3 of its 20-ish customers on a giant counter around the kitchen (recommended for pairs or trios, as Chef Corey is very happy to explain the dishes served, and it’s neat to see how they work), and others on small tables.

They offer a perpetual HKD 370 pp chef’s menu, as well as a la carte. As it was my first time, we tried the chef’s menu, which was priced just about right, though if you know what you want, just go for a la carte (all the food we were served for the set menu was also on the a la carte menu).

These are just out of control – amazingly marinated and perfectly roasted – these are the best lambchops I’ve had in years. The labneh is the perfect complement to offset the savouriness of the lamb and zaatar. Do you and me a favour and try these.

Enjoyed the texture of the cake (a bit molten in spots), and the dark chocolate was perfectly off-sweet. Wasn’t a fan of the yogurt, but my friend thought it was a good pairing.

Overall, everything was at least delicious. At the price (300HKD+ pp if you order a la carte), I’m not sure you can find a meal in town that blends high-end technique with simple earthy ingredients to produce such delicious dishes. Don’t expect light, subtle food – middle-eastern food errs on the heavy side for sure, but I can’t imagine anyone not liking most of this meal. It’s a new favourite in my book, and absolutely one of the best new restaurants of the year.

Quite a busy place seems pretty popular at the moment - which is totally justified. Unique dishes that are not easily found elsewhere. Big on taste, with a good mix of contemporary flavors. Nice light meals, portions are good for this type of place. Staff is great and does not rush you, which I really like (and rare to find in general).

I’m not a huge fan of hummus but the hummus here taste so smooth and sesame like. The squid was fresh and perfectly chewy. I would recommend this!

Dark chocolate and cranberry Clafoutis with spiced yogurt.
3/5 The Clasfoutis was a little bit dense and the flavours were that strong. The spiced yogurt was a tad bit sour which didn’t work well for this dessert. Though it was a lovely dessert to end the meal, I’ll have to take my chance to order this again

The first Smaller we ordered was these Falafel with Hummus, Pickle Salad and Tahini. We adored this vegetarian dish so much. The falafel was really delicious with the hummus and tahini. Pickle salad was quite sour indeed but was refreshing and enjoyable.

I love these Golden Spiced Chicken Manti a lot! It’s like meaty dumplings with yoghurt and Aleppo chilli oil. The yoghurt and chilli oil made great dressing surprisingly! And they went so well with the manti. The portion wasn’t really big but the manti was quite filling. Awesome Smaller to share.

The only Bigger we ordered was this Grilled Persimmon Fattoush with Sumac and Coriander Dressing. This vegetarian dish was quite novel to me as I don’t often see it in other Middle Eastern restaurants. I like the fried pieces of khubz very much, this Middle Eastern flatbread made delicious salad with mixed veggies in the dish.

Even though I am not a veggie person, I ate quite a lot of greens without realizing it during the meal, and found them actually quite enjoyable with the dressing and Lebanese cooking style. Would definitely like to visit Bedu again for their meaty dishes.

This gives Francis some competition! really good selection of dishes, solid flavours, good service. Waitresses are helpful in recommending dishes and suggesting the number of small and large dishes to share. My favourite was from the specials board on the night, squid with hummus. The lamb chops were nice and tender.

The service was professional , one can see that the training was well done. The food was excellent, our favorites; hummus, riz pilaf, Lamb chop, charred broccoli, falafel and squid dish, carrots ! the feta was so so, too sweet for us. The chef was very engaged and dedicated to the customers. Having already a lot of experience, he tries to be creative. Price wise, not too expensive! I will strongly recommend this place for good food for good value in a nice atmosphere. We will go back there for s

早前經過歌賦街時見到這家小酒吧似的中東菜,決定一試究竟!餐廳很細小,但環境氣氛很好,幾乎都是外國人。有專門侍應介紹菜式和關心菜式是否合口味,我們坐在吧枱上,看著廚房煮食物另有一留風味,看著餐紙上叫wadi rum的cocktail已教人懷念中東了。席間,廚師來錯了一道菜,他知道後笑說送我們試吃好了。結果全晚最好吃的除了羊架,就是那道錯有錯著的魷魚。食物雖未到非常驚喜,但整體不錯,而且感覺有心。還有,我走後才發現......餐廳是沒有收service charge,tips歸員工,請注意

Got to work in places nearby and then I passed by this restaurant and give it a try. Their menu is a western cuisine with salad, pita bread and refreshment. I have chosen the combo which includes Pita Bread, drink and dessert, which costs reasonably in Central area, HK$130 without having to pay service charge. I am actually a meat person, but this time I decided to go green and ordered chickpeas with cucumber salad pita bread, homemade grapefruit lemonade and a pistachio sherbet with watermelon

I am actually a meat person, but this time I decided to go green and ordered chickpeas with cucumber salad pita bread, homemade grapefruit lemonade and a pistachio sherbet with watermelon and mint. The sherbet is a highlight for the meal, it's just enough sweet and refreshing flavour left in your mouth.

I felt extremely satisfying after the lunch, this place is pretty decent that good for gathering or dating, or even business lunch.
