I was buying some food stuffs at Kowloon City and going to have my lunch there at the same time. I remembered there was a new Japanese restaurant opening up at Kowloon City, as advertised online. Since that was the case, I went to Isakichi for lunch . It was a small eatery, able to seat around 40 people. There is no lunch or dinner set menu, just ala carte menu. There is no lunch or dinner set menu, just ala carte menu. This shop was famous for their lobster or crab meat rice bowl. Besides that, they offered soup, snacks and beverage as well.
On every table, there is a flask allowing us to have free flow of miso soup.
Clam soup - There is clams and tofu in the soup. Tofu was very soft and smooth, and clams was juicy and chewy. Soup was clear and tasty.
Deep fried taro biscuit - It was marinated with coke, yet the coke taste was not that strong. It was fried till very crispy and taro was soft and meaty.
Crab meat rice bowl - When it was served, i was shocked that the serving was very huge, with the bowl full of ingredients. It was filled with crab meat, sea urchin, crab roe, salmon roe and tamago. Crab meat was soft and juicy, sea urchin was very creamy and buttery. Lime helped to enhance the taste of the seafood but the tamago was slightly tough.
