Time of Visit:
Weekend Lunch
Food:
Frankly speaking, the quality of food is not bad for a buffet. I would say they are comparable to many 5-star hotels in town like Marriott in PP and exceed the quality of the buffet at the Mira. Selection is not too many but is decent enough. Dessert is actually very nice and I particularly like the "Shatin Apple Pie". Maybe I don't have too much an expectation before I go there so I am pleasantly surprised with the food.
Services:
Most wait staffs are very young, not sure if they are students under training. They may lack sophistication but are very friendly, proactive with good manner. You can always find smile on their faces! The kitchen staffs (open kitchen areas) are particularly well trained, as they take initiatives to give suggestion to the customers and are very friendly and helpful.
Environment:
The design is comfortable and modern with a greenery view outside the windows. Ceiling is high as it is not that noisy even though there are many kids around when I was there. The only complaint is that the dining tables have some wear and tear problems and don't look as nice as the deco of the restaurant.
It is not cheap as the lunch buffet is HK$298 per head considering its location. But you can't really find any comparable food outlet in the area as well, not even in Shatin and Tai Po other than the racecourse maybe..... One more point to make is that the cake shop is also worth a visit. Other than the freshly baked "Shatin Apple Pie", it also sells honey from a local bee farm. Pastry and cakes look delicious and taste good and the staffs also provide excellent services.
